Cyphr's face instantly cleared when Belwen filled his vision and blocked his line of sight to Cypress. "Belwen! Thanka for inviting me." Cyphr smiled happily. "I've never been to a thing like this a'fore." Cyphr seemed to have forgotten his earlier confuddlement and took the glass Belwen offered happily. He took a big swig of it, and made a wide-lipped face as he felt the shnappy in it burn all the way down. He exhaled the gasses of the punch out through his nose and nearly sneezed as his nostrils tingled. It was a moment of making silent faces and then Cyphr stilled. And the grin on his face began to grow. This stuff was Taaaaastey! He took another big gulp and felt himself warm from the stomach outwards.
And then Cypress waved to him and seemed to have some sort of food. Cyphr waved back and thanked Belwen again for the drink and headed over to the food table. On the way he thought to himself what to say. The initial shock of being caught so unprepared was fading, and Cyphr was hard to phase for long. He'd approach her and talk to her about his jounrey to fill out her Page requests. Nah.... to Cyphr-centred. He'd ask her about the Flora Gardens. She said she liked them, right? Naaaah.... Cyphr didn't really care much about plants. Well, then, what to say? And then she was right there with her plate in one hand and her glass in the other. She had a warm glow to her face, and a lightness to her movements. She'd dressed nicely for the occassion, it seemed and she looked very happy. Cyphr swallowed a lump in his throat and finally spoke up. "Hallo Cypress." No pet name, no Cyphrization of her name at all. And then he just stood there, gazing at her with big eyes, glass tipping dangerously from his fist.

Cypress cheered up instantly when Cyphr came over, grinning happily as she took another sip of the punch. Heya Cyphr! How ya doin'? she asked, her relaxed speech making her feel slightly rebellious. She noticed with a slight covered up giggle that he had even changed his normal outfit for the party. She hadn't really expected him to come, but she was rather glad he had. He was always full of such energy! So whatcha been up to? she asked, trying to keep the conversation moving.

Khamsyn had not really been surprised by the invite to the party. He assumed such social gatherings occured every once in awhile and since the host was a Zero, all other Zero's were invited by courtesy. What did surprise him was his decision to go. After all, he'd passed up the last social opportunity there had been. The banquet for prospective husks. So why did he choose this party and not that one? Logically, he couldn't think of a good reason. So he had just shrugged and went about trying to find something decent to wear. He wasn't a clothes horse or anything, so the pickings were slim. In the end he chose a simple pale blue silk shirt with sleeves that ballooned out just a little before ending mid-forearm. His choice of pants were a dark shade of azure and made of some soft, lightweight breathable material he did not know with his shins wrapped in silk of a light plum color. The sash around his waist was the same silk as the leg wraps but had many a tassle dangling from it as well. His usual slipper shoes and short cape were also donned. It wasn't very showy, but he was comfortable and that is what mattered really.
Stepping through the doorway into the party he paused and looked over the room. Nervously he ran a hand through his hair, making sure none of if was sticking out at weird angles or anything. He caught sight of the party host, his PE tutor Kallisto, Grave from the library where he worked as well and even Cyphr. At least he knew people. He was kind of surprised not to see Abacus and his ever present camera however. Odd. With a surge of courage he entered the room and just kind of wandered, not approaching anyone specific but chatting with anyone who stopped him. When he made it to the pin table, he instantly knew which one he'd pick and snatched up the Red Wizard pin. It matched his goals. Offensive and defensive spellwork but not overpowered in either. Versatile. Pinning it to his cape edge, on the left side, he turned back to the party and smiled sheepishly. What now?

"Ah!" In a fluid movement Thimble dropped her hands away on diagonals apart from each other as she shifted her weight to the other leg, raising a visible half-inch as she did so, and balancing now with one heel slightly raised, and hands hanging open at her side. It was a click of mental comprehension that manifested itself in her physical being. "You guess well! Hep be my first class." But then... that can't be right... to declare a first is to imply that none of it had been done before. Thimble's fingers curled, her gloves preventing the nails from digging into her palm, though not for want of trying. She lowered on her raised heel, very, very slowly, so that she sank by measures of millimetres. It can't be right, because what else was there in this world but class? She must know these faces from somewhere, after all. The thought that Science had been her first class, and that that had been the first time she had seen these Empyrs was laudable for its mastery of fiction.
Her hands were as fist now, and her face was twitching with slight contortion. Hang on. What was she getting so angry about? Thimble blinked and looked baffled, looking at her hands as she unsticked her fingers and realised her torso had been shaking slightly. She also realised, swinging her head around, that Cypress had moved away in her moment of consternation. Hm... that's right, there had been talk of food, an invitation and a sense of succulence.
A crocodile's grin sneaked across her face, as her pried-apart fingers made small clutchy movements. she bent her arms in angles at the elbow, and followed Cypress in a sense somewhat predatory, indeed, making wide swings of her hip with each step in a manner similar to the lumbering creature that shared her smile. These movements became quicker and less exaggerated as the platters of Sushi loomed into sight, and she was but one step short of a running pace when she was at the food table. Her excitement was practically audible as she sweeped her gaze over the food, a certain restlessness of spirit making her limbs twitch and fidget in anticipation.
How bizarre! How strange! But how very tasty-looking. They were cut as though in generous mouthfuls, and arranged artfully. She had no idea what to call them, but she had an idea of what to do with them. She picked up a piece of Nigiri Sushi and enclosed her mouth around it: GALOMP. Whilst it could fit in her mouth, it was obviously too large too swallow---to large, even, as Thimble soon discovered, to chew easily.
Adamantly resisting the urge to remove it from her mouth and bite off a more agreeable portion, Thimble focused on chipping at the sides of this unexpected monster of a mouthful, and squeezing them through what little amount of mouthspace she still had. Swallowing was tricky, because her tongue wanted to rise to push the bolus down, and the remaining clump of sushi was impeding its process.
A challenge! That is what it was. She half crouched, the actions of the rest of the room phasing out again as she focused on getting this brute of a meal down. She probably looked somewhat like a hairballing cat, although the intentions were reversed. After working at it for a minute... finally! Success! She stood up suddenly and triumphantly, and gave a smug sneer at the table. You, sushi platter, was bested! And her prize for this conquest was... she plucked another Nigiri-zushi for later nibbling and looked around to see what Cypress had gotten up to.
She seemed to be talking to another Empyrean. A sanguine, ho? Called Cyphr, by the sound of it. Her sushi clasped precariously at her very fingertips (for she didn't want to soil her gloves), Thimble stepped quickly to join up with the group, noticing that she was beginning to have to watch her step, for the relatively small room was filling quickly. One she reached the pair she paused, her figure resigning with slight apathy, while her face cocked to the side like an inquisitive bird.

Nadyrr nodded good naturedly, turning he tilted their hands as he did; by all means not a smooth motion but at least he didn't tip her over or something. "Now the dancing," he lowered his voice slightly whispering to Yalitza with a small smile, "I'll do my best not to step on your feet." Nadyrr glanced over to see how Grave and Kallisto were positioning themselves before attempting the same sort of thing with Yalitza, he knew he wouldn't be spectacular at dancing since he had never done it before but... well everything seemed very nice despite that.
The band started to play a song better for dancing and Nadyrr stepped closer and attempted to lead Yaltiza on. His eyes occasionally glancing toward the other couple on the dance floor so he had some idea of what to do. Belwen smiled seeing Cyphr head off, she was glad he seemed to be calming some once actually in the party. Though from the way he seemed to be clinging to his cup she hoped the shnappy didn't effect him badly. The two girls near the sushi seemed to be getting along with him, happy that it seemed that the others were in fact settling in she turned catching sight of another from her last class. Smiling she headed over toward Khamsyn.
"I'm glad you could make it, we haven't ever been formally introduced. I'm Belwen." She met Khamsyn's more sheepish smile with a friendly one.

Khamsyn straightened up as Belwen approached and formally introduced herself. Bending one of his arms in front of himself and the other behind, he bowed with a smile. "Well met Belwen, and thank you for the invite. It was nice of you to include me." Once more straightening himself, he paused to take in all the work that had transformed the room from a mere dorm to it's present state. "It all looks so different and wonderful, did you decorate and plan all of this yourself?" he asked politely, shifting from one foot to the other unconscously to the music.

Smiling with a brief chuckle Belwen offered a small nod, "I did, I love getting people together and creating things. I made all the food myself as well." A small grin curled on her lips as she glanced over at Khamsyn and then to the slight movements of his feet.
"Do you enjoy dancing?" She smiles and gestures down to his feet as she asks. Belwen then gave a look over to the dance floor where the two pairs already had gotten started. If he was interested she'd be sure to give the floor a spin as she actually quite enjoyed dancing.

Khamsyn immediately became stock still when Belwen mentioned dancing. He didn't know what to say or what to do. He hadn't even realized he'd been shifting to the music until she said something. His cobalt blue skin grew darker with a blush as he stared at his hostess. He could come up with an excuse and politely turn her down. Or maybe try and change the subject. He could shift the conversation to their schooling perhaps. As he pondered his eyes shifted as he scanned for anyone who might be able to save him from an ackward position. Nope. No one within saving distance. His eyes came back to rest on Belwen. Geez she was pretty. He hadn't really noticed before. Well, he had, but this was a little different. He shook it off mentally and resigned to just turn her down as politely as he could. He steadied his nerves, took a breath and decided he needed to answer her now.
"Well, I've never danced before. I wouldn't know where or how to begin. So, if you're asking me if I'd care to dance..." Okay, the moment of truth. Time to let her down easy. "I'd love to give it a try if you'll be patient with me."
What did he just say? It was surreal. His brain said one thing and his mouth another. He stood there in shock for several seconds waiting for Belwen to reply. What had he gotten himself in to?

Belwen tilted her head slightly watching him in his indecision a small smile on her face. Even if he said no at least he seemed interesting to watch and maybe she could get him to dance later on if nothing else. At first it didn't sound like he was going to accept but when the last sentence came out she smiled brightly.
"Don't worry I promise to be gentle, and I do know how to dance so maybe I can teach you a little while we are at it." Since she wasn't sure if he would actually go onto the floor unless prodded Belwen held her hand out to take his gently. With a small impish grin she spoke more softly, "I'll even teach you how to lead."

Khamsyn took a deep breath and nodded. "Okay... Yeah... I think that would be good." he stammered. He could feel his palms become instantly moist as she held her hand out for him to take.He had a spilt second of doubt, a doubt so strong he thought he'd start faking sickness or something equally lame to get out of this predicament. But only a split second. Slowly he reached out and took ahold of Belwen's hand and smiled. Her hand was nice and soft. It made him feel a bit better knowing her grasp was as kind and gentle as she seemed to be. He visibly relaxed just a bit as he escorted her closer to the other dancers. "Umm... how do we start this?" he asked scratching his temple with his free hand.

Belwen paused listening to the music, she was glad to hear her musicians were playing so well and that the Audiodeck seemed to be in good repair the song wasn't slow but it wasn't too quick either, perfect for teaching. "Lets start with something simple first," turning she took his hand and rested one on her waist, before reaching for his other hand and positioning her other arm. "Now step to the right with the music, we can just make a small sort of circle here as you get the feel for it." She offered a reassuring smile as she spoke, "we'll go into a wider variety of things as you get comfortable with each step." Looking up she made contact as a good dance partner would and with the hand on his shoulder squeezed gently to add what she hoped would be another bit of reassurance, "now step," she murmured making sure to give him soft guided instructions when it seemed he needed them.

With a small smile she nods before leaning in towards Nadyrr "I'll try not to step on your feet also." pulling back, she lets him lead her as they dance. She knew she wasn't as graceful as she should be. But she figure they were doing fine, after all they were having fun and that was all that matters at this point. To her, it didn't matter if they were dancing right or wrong.
Glancing around at the other dancer, she chuckles again seeing each person had their own way. Looking back at Nadyrr, she gives him a gentle smile before squeezing his hand "Your doing great, just relax."

Khamsyn felt a little silly as Belwen positioned them properly for dancing. He really was clueless as it turns out. As she moved his hand to her shoulder he tried to stay relaxed but stiffened up a few times through sheer habit. He had a habit of being a tad nervous is new and unusual situations. He warmed up rather quickly however, so he wasn't too worried yet. He nodded when she told him to step to the right in time with the music and looked down at his feet like most novice dancers do. It took a fraction of a second before he realized he didn't know if she meant her right or his right. A bead of sweat trickled down his spine and he shivered lightly.
"My right or yours?" he asked, but it was already too late. Belwen had started to move and he had to make a snap decision. Hers or mine? He semi-closed his eyes and stepped to his right. Thankfully, he chose right it would seem. He chanced a look up and found Belwen looking right at him instead of at her feet like he was watching his. He swallowed noticeably and half-grinned. "Hi." slipped out of his mouth and he immediately thought he sounded like a moron. Why did he say 'Hi' of all things. Why not 'Thank you' or 'You look lovely'. He sighed. Maybe he should have added '...I'm a total dork' to the end of his 'Hi'.

Nadyrr smiled slightly as Yalitza spoke, he had a feeling that she wouldn't do him much harm stepping on his toes. But he was more worried about hurting her or something, he felt nervous as they started with his hesitant steps. After a few moments even if his dancing wasn't superb he started to relax with a slight smile. This dancing seemed nice and he had a good partner.
Glancing to Yalitza he realized how close they actually were, he blushed slightly and cleared his throat opting to turn them on the dance floor some. At her praise Nadyrr nodded again slightly not wanting to speak as if not trusting his own voice, breathing in slightly he closed his eyes slightly. He then blinked and looked to her again looking somewhat embarrassed, "uhm...you smell good like..." he then cut off realizing what he was saying and bit his lip with a flush. With a determined look he attempted to keep up the dancing. Belwen smiled slightly to herself watching Khamsyn, he needed to relax. She had started moving them answering his question before he got to really finish it. It was somewhat awkward starting out but she thought they were at least getting the hang of it.
Catching Khasym's eye she chuckled slightly at the 'Hi', then she smiles brightly. "Hi to you as well, I think you have a dancer in you yet." Her smile then turns slightly impish and she whispers with a slight tease, "you however should move your hips a bit more...might need some practice there." She wiggled her hips slightly but kept with the motion they had started in with their dance, her eyes dancing with slight amusement and mischief.

"Up to... up to..." Cyphr murmured, one scrambling hand flitting to his various pockets and coming up with nothing. He looked up to her, squinting slightly. "Er... I forgot to bring it. I didn't know you'd be here." Cyphr half-explained and nodded lugubriously. He gulped again from his punch and smiled, feeling himself relax by degrees. "Oh! Er, your Hybrid." Cyphr explained, suddenly realising he wasn't making much sense. Why was it so damn hard to talk to this one? Cyphr held his breath for a moment and then exhaled it in a short, fast sigh and guzzled the remainder of his cup. The tingling feeling this time was more of a burning, and the lightness in his limbs came on fast and strong. Cyphr's head began to feel like it had been replaced with butterflies. He opened his eyes wide in surprise and a broad grin began to creep open across his face. And then, all of a sudden, talking seemed like the easiest thing in the world. Cyphr opened his mouth for a moment, still grinning and then it all came out in a gush. "Well, since 'mma Page I went to Abriddy's and he had a spare Certaring for me to take away for yous. An' theeeeen I went offa Dannums for a Hybrid, cuz she was all, making da Animus! An' I gave 'er the credits so she was all wantin to work it too, yah. An' I stuck 'round to watch somer it. Neato process, makin der Hybrids. It's all, whisssssh and buuuuurble and fwaaaaah!" And Cyphr began pantomiming the process with his hands and making sound effects that were pretty damn close to the actual process of incubating a Hybrid. He smiled and nodded at Cypress for a while, leaning in to her ever so slightly, and staring at her with big happy mooney eyes. Then he seemed to remember he'd been telling her about the hybrid and resumed his tale, the flush in his cheeks growing. "An' then it was all borned, and it was all floooof face and cute eyes and tiny feets and wings and floppy ivy body! Super cute! Cute like you! You'lla be a matchin' pair, yup." Cyphr hiccuped then and gave a slight giggle more sheepish than anything and rocked back on his heels. Hrrrm, maybe he ought to get more punch? And some Sushi, he was kinda hungry....
