Learning Something Featuring: Child Kitrio and Teen Peirdupet
Peir swund his rope lazily, "Don't get out of sight or it's back in the leash," he called out to the feathered creature who kept flying on ahead. He'd found that the creature had an almost insatiable desire to learn. So teaching him to track had been the best way to reign in his bad behaviour. The two traveled for a while and then Kit comes upon some tracks... "It da only thing 'round, Horney," Kit said sourly. He was a good tracker now, Peir had shown him. He could track anything."It's Peirdupet, or Peir if you're tounge can't make that much sound," Peir said for the hundredth time at least. "And that may be true, but a good tracker is also cautios. We must know what is behind that door before knocking. Did you not see the other tracks? A cervi, but moving strangely. We must investigate more of the surounding area before proceeding."After a time they come to Chane's house and meet up with some other 'taur...

A Rescue...? Featuring: Teen Peirdupet, Teen Azure, Child Kitrio, Baby Sanpaturiel, Teen Little Deer and Teen Chane
ChibiPoet There was a loud knock at the door. "Open up! We've come for Azure! Open this door NOW!"Azure shook herself awake. She'd fallen asleep? Would wonders never cease... Then she realized what had woken her and glancing around, saw that Chane and Little Deer were nowhere to be seen. She blushed. No... certainly not with me in the other room... She assumed they must have gone off somewhere to talk. She pulled a blanket from where she'd rested earlier and laid San on it. Knowing Peir he'd likely attack the first thing he saw, even if it was her and carrying a baby at that!Peir swung his staff at the first sigh of a crack in the door, but not to strike, simply to force it open the rest of the way. "Azure!""Yes it's me, you horn-brained goat! I told you I would be fine, but that wasn't good enough for you! You had to come all the way here and wake me up!" Storei San immediately woke up and began to cry, however no sound was made from the tiny child's throat. Instead, he merely squirmed and wiggled, his mouth gaped open in a silent howl. ChibiPoet "Azure!" Kit sprang from behind Peir and leapt into Azure's arms. He'd become more aware of his claws now and didn't scratch as deep."Hey Kit! Was Peir good for you?" she asked, giving the cervi a sour look.Kit mimiced the look, also directed at the cervi. "Honey's baaad!" He climbed over Azure's shoulder to sit on her back, this time making a few small scratches. He saw San on the blanket and tilted his head with curiosity. He walked along Azure's back and then jumped onto the floor."That, that THING! He tried to kill me!" Peir turned a bit to show some scratches along his left foreleg.Azure scoffed. "A little thing like that and you say he's trying to kill you?"Kit didn't notice that Azure and Peir had forgotten about him, he was too curious about the squirming thing on the floor. He got closer until he was about arm's length from the child. Storei The child continued to squirm, and seeing the taur come closer and closer to him, he began to squirm and writhe more on the blanket, tears streaming down San's cheeks. His cheeks were flushing from the effort to get Azure's attention, but being silent, the child could only lie and quiver with fright. ChibiPoet Kit tiled his head again and fluffed a few of his feathers in confusion. "Whassamatter? I won' hurt ya," he said. "I only hurt Horney 'cuz he's stupid," he said with a nod."It's a filthy creature! I don't see why you keep it!" he said, delfecting her comment about the scratches. It had tried to kill him!"Keep!? I don't keep Kit. We watch out for eachother and trust eachother, which is more than I can say for you!" He was acting as though Kit were... were some kind of pet![[ Popcorn? Oh! That's a good idea! *goes to make popcorn* ]] Storei [[Popcorn IS a good idea....@___@]] The child still wiggled and wormed with fingers curling up into tight fists. No matter what the feathered being said, the child didn't understand and simply cried as his answer for everything. ChibiPoet [[ I feel so sorry for San... ]] "Trust? I wouldn't trust that thing as far as I can throw it!""Well I could say the same about you!" Azure took a short charge toward Peir, just to get his staff out of the door frame. She quickly retreated before he could tell what was going on and shut the door in his face. It was then she noticed the absence of Kit's weight upon her back."You muss stop that, it's silly," declared Kit, getting more and more frustrated by this child."Kit, come here please," Azure said softly. She should have known all that yelling would wake San, and now Kit was scaring the poor lad. "On my back, Kit. And stay behind my shoulders until I say you can come out, alright?" This was something they'd do when Azure would hunt with her bow. The bow Chane gifted to her.
She knelt beside San and began speaking in her cooing voice, mostly nonsence soothing sounds but sometimes with his name insterted in there.Storei [[Really? Aww...*snugs Chibi*]] San eventually calmed down, sniffing softly and reaching his arms out for Azure's comforting embrace. Looking up at her with his glossy eyes, the small cervi stopped crying. ChibiPoet When San stopped crying, Azure scooped him into her arms. She felt Kit stur, "You just stay where you are for now, alright? Let me tell you about San." She smiled at the baby, wondering what Chane and Little Deer were up to. Best not to know I suppose. It would have helped if they'd been here though to watch over San.
She spoke in that soft high voice, figuring San wouldn't understand what she was saying but would find comfort in the sound of it. "San is mute, Kit. That means he can't speak. And he's also a baby, you were a baby once. When you first came out of your egg the world was very confusing to you. San is just confused." She would have said frightened, that was more accurate. But Kit had never seemed afraid of anything so she doubted he would understand fear. Storei San was fairly amused by her voice and he began to bubble and make spit bubbles with his tiny mouth. His deen dark green bangs flutered over his face and he stopped, frightened b his own hair. Then he blew up at them, twisted his mouth into a gaping smile and squirmed in delight. ChibiPoet Peir looked at the door, his dark face darker in anger and emberassment. "How dare she!" He began pacing in front of the door at a loss for what to do. She was not in danger, but still! He'd never had a door slammed in his face (not that he'd been near enough doors for it to happen often) and she must oppologize! He was only looking out for her! C.y.n. It didn't seem to take them as long to get back to the house as it had taken them to get to the pool. Uppon arriving Chane was greated with a strange sight, a Cervi, only a few years older then Little Deer, was standing at the entrance to his house. Quickening his pace slightly Chane called out, 'Hey! Can we help you?" In the manner of someone who wanted to know what you where doing more then to lend you assistance. ChibiPoet Peir's head turned quickly to look at Chane and Little Deer. That accounted for the other tracks now, a centaur with one hoof wrong and a cervi. "Well yes," Peir said quickly, feeling himself not at all in the wrong he took Chane's meaning in the second way. "Do you know if this might be the dwelling of one called Chane?" That was all he had to go on, Azure hadn't even described the 'taur to him. Storei Little Deer, hearing a stranger's voice, immediately clamped up and became cold and quiet, his mouth pulling into an emotionless frown. He didn't say anything but hid behind Chane. C.y.n. Chane reached back to rest his hand on Little Deer in a protective manner, "I'm Chane, what do you want?" ChibiPoet "I am here for Azure. She is currently under my care," he said stiffly. C.y.n. ((just ask around... lots of time there will be *someone* on who wants to RP 3nodding I've got a couple taur besides Chane if you wanna play with them 3nodding )) Chane paused, "I'll... tell her your here." He made sure to keep his body between Little Deer and the new commer as he led his compainon into the house.ChibiPoet Peir simply nodded and moved aside, not saying that Azure already knew. What he required now was that she actually come. Storei As soon as they passed by the newcomer, Little Deer, constantly on the other side of Chane, the cervi trotted hurriedly into the house to get away from Peir. As soon as they were inside, Little Deer bumped right into Azure and toppled over to the side with a startled squeak.

Nothing's Going Right... Featuring: Teen Peirdupet, Teen Azure, Child Kitrio, Baby Sanpaturiel, Teen Little Deer and Teen Chane
ChibiPoet In the time he'd been outside Peirdupet's imagination had gotten quite away from him, and so he was rather leary of Chane when he came outside. He loosened his hold a bit on his staff, unaware that he was terrible at subtleties and that his actions were clearly a try at making it look less like a weapon. "Certainly. After you," he said with a slight bowing of his head.[[Hehe! I love Peir and his sillieness!]] C.y.n. Chane made sure Azure was out of the house before leading Pier inside. He was pretty used to Little Deer always carrying around his walkign stick so although he thought of it as a weapon it didn't occur to him that it could be impolight to be armed in another's house.
He appeared strangely maternal as he lay San down near the table and started gathering up food for breakfast. Little Deer had saved some of the apple sauce from the morning before, that was good. He found some meat, and put it in a pan with some tubers and spices, and put some water over the fire to boil for tea. That would have to do, he was far too tired to put much effort into the meal. ChibiPoet Azure listened to Kit go on and on about tracking, though in his excitement his speach became more and more garbled with half sentences and even half words. It was simply comforting to have him back, she hadn't noticed how much she'd missed his company and the feeling of looking after the little guy even though he'd shown on more than one occation that he was able to fend for himself pretty well.Peir made no offer to help as he looked around the room as though looking for something, Azure more than likely though he didn't say as much. His eyes passed over San as well, pausing enough to guess that the child was of no relation to Chane nor the cervi he'd seen before. "So your... friend," prisoner in his mind, "and Azure. Where have they gone?" C.y.n. "My friend, Azure?... Kit? They went to take a bath. Sorry, I should have tried to introduce you, that's San sleeping by the table there... I think Little Deer, the one you saw me come in with, has gone to take a nap in the other room," Or to cower. But Chane couldn't say that. ChibiPoet Peir flushed, so that was what she had meant about him trying to follow her. He tried clearing his mind of it, he needed to focus on Chane. How casually this centaur spoke, as though he could hide his terrible deeds. "Are there any others who stay here?" he asked curiousely. C.y.n. ((uhh XD there's really only one door. so... Chane's so sexy that he provides that much of a distraction eh? *slaped*)) "This is my house, as you already know. I live here with Little Deer, and... San... I suppose we adopted San." He became frustrated as he watched Pier look around the house as if looking for evidence to a crime, but he tried his hardest not to show it. ChibiPoet Peir had run out of things to say and he felt the need to stall for Azure's return. Whatever this place was about he could not deal with it on his own. "So... ah... did Azure come here often?" C.y.n. "Here?" Chane had to think for a moment, "I wouldn't say often, but yes she's been here a few times in the past. Why?" ChibiPoet He couldn't lie well, or quickly. "Well she's... she's your friend. Why wouldn't... she come more often?" Her friend, Stars above! What if she's in on it too?[[I can't wait for him to crack.]] C.y.n. ((XD omg he's a freak XD)) Chane shruged, "I've been away a lot, and she's been sick this last little while. The home is still fairly new, honestly I think she's only one of three or four people who even knows where it is."ChibiPoet [[ It's called Taigga Taigga, and yeah... it'll be more feline looking in a few days. [link] ]] A secluded spot, that could help or hinder. He was getting visably nervous now as he scratched one elbow. "Is the pool far? I should have kept an eye on her..."C.y.n. "It's only about a five minute walk if your taking your time. She won't be longer then twenty minutes I imagine." Chane paused, there where no clocks on the isles that he'd seen.... how familiar would Pier be with minutes and hours? ChibiPoet Peir's eyebrows drew together some, Azure talked about these minutes, quite a few in a candle-mark (I'm assuming that's one way they might know for telling time) so she'd be gone less than half of one. "Good," was all he said. He was to meet Poet tomorrow, and he would do it with Azure in tow. C.y.n. ((yeah but Chane wouldn't be all aware of that... and LD wouldn't be able to use it so he wouldn't have informed Chane)) Chane was relived that Peir seemed to know what he was refering too. The tea kettle came to a boil and Chane got up to attend to it, "Do you have any sort of tea you prefer? Do you know what Azure would prefer even?"ChibiPoet Tea? Well they certainly wouldn't be staying long enough for that, but a show of staying wouldn't hurt. "So long as it's sweet Azure should like it," he said with an odd face. He remembered having some tea she'd prepared before. It was so sweet he couldn't stand it, and he didn't know what kind it was either. "And I'll drink whatever's bitter you have," he said. Tea wasn't his thing really, their names? Their colors? All the same to him so long as it wasn't sweet. C.y.n. Chane smiled and put on a pot of Earl Grey. It wasn't bitter but Peir's response was abiguous at best so he might as well just choose the one he wanted. "What brings you here this morning?" He was certain there was nothing more too it outside collecting Azure but silence with this guy was nervewracking... he hoped Azure would be back soon. ChibiPoet Peir blinked a bit, thinking he'd made that clear. "I am here for Azure, after catching some illness from that creature she carries about there's no knowing if or when she'll relapse." He spoke as though he truely believed this, despite how healtyh she already seemed. C.y.n. Chane smiled as he shifted the meat a tubers about in the pan. "She had a mild cough when she arived last night but it seems to have cleared up since then," Partly out of nessesity, perhaps... "I'm sure the bath and some warm tea will do wonders for cureing what's left of her illness." ChibiPoet "You didn't see her a few days ago..." His mind couldn't understand the sudden change from her inability to stand or even speak to the way she was now. C.y.n. Chane didn't have anything to say to that. What Azure had said was true, he was far too concerned about her. He wanted to take off his leg, or open a pannel, just to mess with the boy. He was far too uptight. But he couldn't, so he pulled the pan off the grill and scooped the contents into a bowl on the table beside the apple sauce. ChibiPoet [[Whee! Three more days until FS is done! I can't wait to read the winning posts.]] The door opened tenatively, "Hello hello," Azure called and Kit dashed ahead of her."Smells good!" he declared.Peir clutched his staff when the door opened, as though forgetting to expect Azure. "Azure! Azure, we have to go," he said hurredly. But Azure looked calm, not paying Peir any mind. Her hair was slightly damp. She sniffed. "It does smell good Kit." She suddenly turned on Peir. "Have you no manners, Peirdupet? Chane didn't have to invite you in, invite you to eat, but he did and we're staying." Her tone was forceful, but not shouting.C.y.n. Behind Peir's back Chane rolled his eyes and pointed at the cervi with the hand holding the cups, then put the cups down on the table and pored the tea. "Um, are you in any particular hurry?" He wanted to get the story out of Peir without undermineing Azure. ((I couldn't make that sound good at all >.o sorry)) ChibiPoet Peir needed Azure alone, he wished she would learn the hand signs of his tribe so he could tell her as much. All he could do was jerk his head a bit toward Chane with an urgent look to his face.Unsure what Peir would say, Azure jumped in. "Poet's due in tomorrow, right Peir?" Her tone was a bit mocking, she couldn't beleive that the woman had amanged to keep every appointment with the cervi and less than half with herself."Food...." Kit's voice was a bit quiet as he hopped from foot to foot. It seemed everything either made him very happy or very angry. C.y.n. "There's honey on the table, help yourselves," Chane said as he picked up a plate and a cup and brought them into the other room. Chane's voice could be heard, though the words where too soft to make out. If Little Deer replied his voice was too quiet for their ears. Chane returned a few minutes later looking worried. ChibiPoet "Yes, she'll be there," Peir said, obviousely annoied with her. "And you will be too." He looked back quickly to see that Chane was truely out of the room. "Why do you come here?" he asked in a harsh wisper. "He's kidnapping cervi. Do you have-"Azure was too shocked to speak at first, but quickly cut him off. "Chane is doing no such thing," she said in an equally harsh wisper. "And if you ever suggest such a thing again why I'll-" She help her tongue in front of Kit, leaving off what she'd do. Her temper was flaring quite a bit lately, though she certainly knew why.Off to one side Kit was trying to figure out whether or not he liked honey. It stuck to him, but was very sweet. His face changed quickly from a smile to a grimmace and back again. C.y.n. Chane raised his eyes to look at the pair, shaking his head "Please don't fight in my house. What on earth is wrong with you Peir? You've been, well, acting like, I don't know. Strange." ChibiPoet Azure's face darkened even more, she wasn't fighting. "I-""I will tell you what is wrong. What you are doing is wrong. I don't know what you've done to that cervi in the other room, but you won't get a chance to harm that child."Azure gasped and then stared daggers into Peir's back. "San's no more in danger here than I am," she said quickly. "And if you raise your voice any further and wake him, then I won't be able to say the same for you." C.y.n. Chane put his hand on Azure's shoulder in an attempt to quiet her. He tried to think of anything he could have done to Little Deer that would invoke the anger of another of his kind. That is... Shy of taking the cervi to be his boyfriend, but there was no way Peir could know of that. He picked up San and held the infant close to his chest. "I don't think you know what your talking about..." ChibiPoet "I know perfectly well what I'm talking about," he said in a rush, his glare going from Azure to Chane and back again. "You are a part-"Azure's eyes were getting a bit misty as she remembered what Chane had told her about finding Little Deer. About those who had hurt him, just thinking of it made her want to cry. "Nothing that happened to Little Deer was Chane's fault," she said when she interupted him. A tear slid down, she couldn't help it because she was also afraid of the way Peir held his staff. "You could never know and understand what has happened to him, no one can understand that kind of pain." Well, she wondered if Chane could. She didn't know quite what had happend to his leg. Maybe that's how they had become so close. C.y.n. Oh! Chane's mouth moved but no sound came out. He spoke in a low voice, "It's a long story... Little Deer's village was destroyed by humans, as far we we know he was the only survivor. I don't know what you think I did to him but I assure you the scars you see are long healed." ChibiPoet Peir was sputtering now, torn between anger and the desire to comfort Azure. No matter what she thought of him, he disliked seeing a woman cry. He schooled his face and tapped his staff to the ground. "If he's not being held in there then why does he not come out on his own?" he asked with an edge of triumph in his voice.Azure sighed, but then she moved quickly away from the two of them. "Kit no!" She grabbed the honey pot from him and set it back on the low table. He was smeared with the stuff, at some point he decided that being sticky wasn't all that bad. C.y.n. Chane watched Azure run after Kit but he figured she had it under controll. "He's scared of new people. He hunts on his own, he's worked around the blindess incredibly, but he dosn't try to make friends. I've tried to get him agree to meet other cervi before but he refuses to take to the idea." Chane was calming down again. He didn't like how Peir thought of him but now he at least understood. ChibiPoet "Bl-blind?" That surprised Peir, "You-" but he no longer had the confidence to make that accusation. This was all unraveling. He shook his head to clear it, he would not be disuaded. "Well he can-" but that wouldn't work either, if what Chane said was true.Azure had picked up a small cloth, probably a rag or napkin, and was helping Kit get the honey off of his feathers. Helping because he'd figured out his own way about it which didn't require cloths."Mmmmm," he had a satisfied smile on his face. The two males were practically forgotten. C.y.n. Chane nodded, misunderstanding, "He got lost last night and only made it home this morning. He's a little shooken up at the moment. Azure? Do you need help?" ChibiPoet Peir stepped aside without a word looking rather dumbfounded. He looked toward the other room, he still wanted to hear these things from Little Deer himself.Kit made a sound close to a hiss when he heard Chane and saw how close he was. His eyes quickly shifted to San and his eyes widdened happily. "No more crying," he said with a nod and smile.Azure had some of the honey on her cheek and arms and gave a half smirk. "He'll just smear you and San," she said offhandedly. She jerked her head toward Peir, "I'll get him out of here when Kit's clean. No telling how long he'll listen to reason..." she muttered. C.y.n. Chane laughed softly, "Yeah he's sleeping. I'm surprised all this ruckus hasn't waken him!" Storei [[Thank you so much, Chibi!]] Stepping into the room silently with cloven hooves, Little Deer delicately stood in the doorway. He never liked strangers or newcomers. He acted very poorly and shy around them. It was probably because he was never really raised with other taur, but over here alone in this cave with only Chane and Azure. The slight pull of his eyebrows was Little Deer's way of communicating his uneasiness around new company since he didn't have his eyes to convey emotions. They were talking about him, he heard from the other room. He had managed to get a fifteen minute nap, but with all the noise and conversation, the cervi was woken up. San, on the other hand, was silent (as always) and tilted his head in confusion up at the faces before him. C.y.n. (( heart )) Chane felt San move in his arms and looked down at the infant, "I spoke too soon, good morning San!"ChibiPoet [[ Do you know if Cyn's around? I don't want to get too far along without Chane's interaction... ]] Azure's quick intake of breath was a hallow sound as she turned her attention back to Kit. She knew how difficult it had been to get Little Deer used to her presence and now there were no fewer than two new creatures here. One of which was very unbalanced at the moment.Peir stiffened when he heard Little Deer enter and turned to look at the cervi. The blindfold was still there... was the centaur speaking truth after all? He cleared his throat, what did one say to a blind 'taur? "G-good day, Little Deer." The odd pause between the two parts of Little Deer's name made them seem more like two words.Kit stopped struggling with Azure for a moment and looked wide-eyed toward Little Deer. "Two horney's..."Storei [[*laughs at Cyn* I LURVE YOU!]] Little Deer, at the sound of the new voice, raised his brows in surprise and backed away farther into the doorway with his white blanket pulled about his shoulders. His lips were pulled into a frown and his brows were knitted together with worry. He gave a slint inclination of his horned head as a greeting and backed away farther so that only his shoulders, arms, and head remained in the doorway. He perked his ears for Chane's mechanical leg, and when he picked out the familiar whirls and clicks, he was assured that at least Chane was there. His suspisions were made correct when he heard his companion speak to San. San, opened his mouth in a smile and made grabby hands for Chane's face. ChibiPoet [[ LOL, that's what I get for posting and running, 'ello Cyn! ]] "I won't harm you," Peir said in the most soothing voice he could muster, which was only half as soothing as he'd have liked. "My name is Peirdupet, a... friend of Azure's."Things went a bit quicker when Kit stopped struggling, "Yes Kit, two cervitaur. Not horneys." Though she certainly didn't mind when Kit had been calling just Peir horney.C.y.n. Chane stared at Kit for a moment in disbelif, hornies? He turned to see Little Deer standing in the doorway, "Little Deer... I brought some food to the bed room earlier, it's still there if your hungry. Or you can join us if your up to it?" Storei Little Deer simply 'stared' in Peir's direction before he heard Chane's suggestions. Sit down...Or eat. Little Deer wasn't keen on the idea of going into the same room with strangers and he had lost his appetite so he simply laid his cervitaur body on the floor in the doorway. He clutched onto the door frame with both hands and shook his horned head from side to side. San struggled harder to reach Chane's face. ChibiPoet Azure pulled her lips to a thin line. Friend? Not likely. But argueing with him would not make things better now. She was glad that Little Deer didn't simply turn around and retreat. It wasn't healthy to so alienate oneself from others, no matter that she'd done it herself often enough."Sssserbitaur?" Kit said slowly. Only then did he realize that Azure had stopped poking and proding with that damp rag of hers. He looked over himself frantically. "The sweet's gone!" he exclaimed. C.y.n. "Little Deer," Chane said softly getting up and moving really close to him, "is there anything I can do for you, love?" He becane quieter as he spoke and the last word was barly whispered in hopes that Little Deer would be the only one to hear it. He held the squirming San a little closer but other then that payed him no heed. Storei Little Deer heard Chane move closer and when he had settled down, the cervi simply leaned closer to him so that he could rest his shoulder against his companion's. He had heard the friendly term, and that made him both comfortable and nervous at the same time. He hoped that Azure didn't hear for fear that she would become sad again. The feeling of guilt grew and twisted again at his stomach and he shook his head in response to Chane's question. There was nothing he could really do. They couldn't bluntly ask them to leave, because that would be rude. So the best thing for the cervi to do was deal with his nervousness from far away. Besides, he did have to get better with being around people and this was one of those chances. San squirmed closer and closer to Chane, pressing himself tightly to the warm of the centaur's chest. He still opened his mouth in silent demand to get closer to Chane's face. C.y.n. Chane put his arm around Little Deer slowly, doubting very much that showing too much affection for the cervi would improve his reputation with Pier. With his free arm Chane lifted up San so the infant's head could rest on his shoulder, "Stop squirming!" he said in a hushed voice.
"Azure? Is the honey comming off Kit's feather's alright?" it was a strange comment considering all but he couldn't think of anything more to say. ChibiPoet Peir shifted uncomfortably, he didn't need the last trailing word to do the sums and he didn't like what came out in the end. He stood with an open mouth, about to say something."It came off as well as could be expected," she said perhaps a touch too loudly, trying to forstall whatever Peir was about to say. She'd not heard, but seeing them close like that was enough to twist her heart. "Peir. We need to be on our way." Storei When Little Deer heard that they were going to leave, the pang of guilt tore at his abdomen again and he jerked away from Chane. Looking hurt, confused and lost, the ceri picked himself up from the floor and made his way for the front door flap as he wrapped his arms around his chest. He was unnerved. Little Deer didn't want to hurt anybody and it seemed no matter what he did, he would end up hurting someone! C.y.n. "Little Deer... Please... I need rest, and someone needs to watch San..." Storei Little Deer paused in his step to turn his head back to Chane. Then nodding quietly, he trotted back to reach out for the cervitaur child. He'll 'watch' over San. He didn't want Chane to tire himself to the point of exhaustion. Stretching his hands a bit, the young taur ached to get San in his arms that way he could get out of this company. His heart was beating quicker with each passing second. ChibiPoet Azure was releaved that neither one protested their leaving, at least not verbally. She stood and scooped Kit into her arms. "Little Deer... Chane... I wish you well. Thank you for your hospitality, but we must be on our way." Her voice was near qwivering. She needed time and space to heal.Kit quickly squirmed out of her arms to climb over onto her back, peeking over her shoulder. Storei Before she could leave, Little Deer blurted out softly, "I'm sorry, it's all my fault. It's alright if you hate me for what I'm done. I'm so sorry!" ChibiPoet [[ I've got to go so this'll be my last post. Y'all have fun. ]] Azure kept her back to the two of them, she wasn't crying but knew that it would be difficult not to at any moment. She didn't want Chane to see. "It's... hard right now Little Deer. I will come back though, I will still be your friend."Peir followed close behind her, bristling with unvented anger that every time he'd gone to say something Azure had fixed him with a silencing stare. Anger that he let himself be silenced too. He gave an indignant sniff and added, "I also will not stay gone." He didn't know if he meant it harshly or not, his head was realing from this encounter.[[ Bye y'all! Gotta go get food and other stuffs! ]]

Aftermath Featuring: Teen Azure, Child Kitrio, Teen Peirdupet and Poet
The company of three passed in silence through the trees after leaving Chane's house. Whenever Peir turned to say something to Azure, her glare and quick shaking head kept back whatever he wanted to say. Kit, seeming to sense the tension, kept silent as well. On they went until the trees spaced out and the first sounds of the beach could be heard. Peir finally broke the silence. "Oh shake your head all you want, I want answers!" Everything was playing over and over in Peir's head and nothing made sense. "What did happen to Little Deer? What does he have to be sorry about? How is it this Chane just happens to find injured cervitaurs?" The last had him angrier than either of the other two questions. There just wasn't anything right there.Kit fluffed his feathers and gave a long hiss to Peir while he crouched on Azure's back."You want answers! Who cares what you want! I want you to leave me alone, but does that matter to you!? NO!" She ignored Kit for now. She knew she'd have to stop him if he decided to attack Peir, even if she didn't really want to at this point.Peir scowled at her. "There's no need to raise your voice at me like that," he said simply, his hands dangerousely changing grip on his staff."So you're going to bully me now are you? Well FINE!" She leaned forward to shout in his face. She didn't care that she was being childish. She wanted to be alone with her anger and greif but he just wouldn't let things lie.Peir relaxed a bit, more for Azure's benefit than anything else. "I would never intentionaly hurt you Azure."Azure screamed in frustration. Why was she forever surrounded by calm males who wouldn't even properly shout in an arguement? She was also frustrated to notice that something had changed him today. He used to quake under her anger but something was making him stand up to her without resorting to violence. Not that he ever really hurt her in those times.
It was more than she could take. Her legs folded beneith her and her hands covered her face as sobs began to wrack her entire body. She hadn't wanted to break down in front of him or anybody.Kit leapt from Azure's back to stand in front of her, between Peir and her. "Hsssss, horney make Azure cry! Bad horney!"Peir began to come toward Azure, but another hiss from Kit made him sigh and stand back. He gave the harpie a withering stare and then looked back to Azure with compassion. "Azure... I... I don't know what to do," he said exasperatedly to no one in particular."You leave Azure alone, s'what you do," said Kit. He hissed once more and then turned to face Azure. He burrowed close to her and was able to wiggle his way under her elbows. He wrapped feathered arms around her and his face was very confused."What is going on here?" All eyes turned to see a young woman with alabaster skin, silver hair and eyes who wore loose-fitting pants and shirt with a thick sash tied about her waist. Belted over the sash was a long, curved knife. "P-poet?" Peir's eyes went wide. He recognized the voice, and her eyes were the same, but...The woman laughed and her silver hair became brown, her features aged a good decade and her skin also darkened some. "I'd forgotten, Peirdupet, that you hadn't seen me as I was born." She turned her attention to Azure and Kit. Azure had gotten up while Poet talked and whiped away what tears she could in her hurry before setting her face like stone. "So you came this time," she said coldly.Kit barely had time to grab a hold of Azure's arms as she stood and was now in her grasp with his arms around her neck, looking at the strange woman and wondering if he should hiss at her too.Poet took a few unafraid stps forward, "So is this what came of our hatchling after his cough?" She smiled and barely moved her hand back when Kit snapped at her. A few seconds later she dropped her hand completely. "Azure, why were you crying?" Azure stiffened. "You even care?" But she knew that wasn't the discussion she wanted to have. "It's my own affair, I'll get over it," she hastily added.Poet's eyebrows pressed together and she wondered what had happened to Azure in these months she'd been gone. She once again regretted ever taking the centaur woman in, not for lack of love on her part but because she felt she'd only damaged Azure's childhood even more by not always being there. "Well, I wanted to make certain you were both alright and healthy, which it seems you are..." she trailed off and looked at Peir. "I think she still needs some looking after, she's already relapsed once," he simply looked in Azure's direction when he heard her muttering, "and she refuses to get the rest she needs."Poet turned to Azure but spoke to Peir. "She's a growm woman, she knows what risks she can and cannot take Peir. There's no need for you to look after her." Azure sighed, "There was never any need inthe first place," she stubornly added. Shifting her arms and helping Kit climb onto her back she placed her hands on her hips. "Well now that that's settled, I'll be leaving you two to do whatever it is a Guardian and her 'taur do together." She turned and began leaving.Poet called to her. "Azure, I'm sorry." Without stopping or even turning to look at her, Azure raised an angry hand in the air. "I'm tired of everyone appologizing to me. Just leave me alone." And she stalked off into the woods.

RP: A Playful Romp Featuring: Baby Stains and Baby Yuvanil
ChibiPoet [[ Hehe, I wouldn't mind them being cousins. Stains would be from the more feline mixed side of the family. heart And well... hm, I'm not usually good at starting things up so I'll just give us a setting pretty much... ]] The grass was warm. Warm from the sunlight shining down on this unshaded spot of the hill. Stains was curled up, not really sleeping just in that cat-nap state of being. Her parents weren't far. Within sight, but not hovering or anything. She liked that, she felt safe.Maid In Korea [ I haven't RPed anything vaguely animalistic in a long while. Excuse my rustyness. xD; And even more apologies for the terrifically painful lag of IE. x0x; ]
Within sight there was ‘something’... A bundle of ‘something’ curled neatly atop a hill. Curiosity killed the cat? Pah! With a less than quiet and somewhat clumsy stalk, Yuvanil ascended the grassy hill before her. Tail twitching eagerly she drew ever closer, high pitched grunts mixed with mumbles escaping her lips as the Cattaur infront of her came into clear sight. ChibiPoet [ No problem at all. wink Cattaur RPs are perhaps the only ones I'll make sence in. I constantly have to double check my Azure RPs to make sure I didn't say foot or toes or something like that. ] Noises caused a few twitches of Stains' ear and she slowly opened one pale green-yellow eye. Her tail tightened its grip on the few grass stems it had caught while napping. A few rumblings came from her chest, like a mottor starting, sputtering, then dieing. Her odd attempts to purr. Whatever it was, it didn't look scary.Maid In Korea [ xD Hehe. ]
Stopping at the twitching of her 'prey' the young Cattaur awkwardly came to a halt, lowering into the lush grass around her. Utterly ignoring the fact her bottom and tail were highly visible to anything within, say, one hundred feet? A guttaral yet pretty pathetic growl sparked up as her excitement grew, she was so close she could taste victory of the 'kill'. ChibiPoet As one eye closed the other opened, watching the thin tail move above the grass. That was interesting. Her tiny front paws slowly moved, tighten... release... tighten... release. Interesting could wait, this was a nice sunny spot. She felt a tignle in her jaw and then yawned to releave it. Maid In Korea As suddenly and as inelegantly as she had stopped, Yuvanil pounced upwards out of the grass, legs stretching in a comical, uncoordinated sprint up the last part of the incline. With each length her tail twitched rapidly, ears flicking like furry radars until, finally, she leapt upwards, hovering only inches above the 'sleeping prey'. ChibiPoet Her ear twitched again, what now? That same eye slowly opened again and as realization came to her young mind, the other popped open as well. She had just enough time to put her hands flat on the ground and look in shock as the other sprung into the air. Maid In Korea Flopping down through the air like a furry stone, arms held out in a pseudo hug, legs galloping in thin air, Yuvanil landed upon the other Cattaur's back, immediately gnawing on the flailing tail of the slightly older youngen. Cattish rumbles erupting as she 'attacked'. ChibiPoet Twisting her torso to reach the other, Stans grasped for the others tail as though to tug her off by it. Legs barely strong enough to stand with her own wieght simply quivered while she tried to stand under their combined weight. "Oh!" she exclaimed amid her own rumbled growls which lacked the menace of older cattaurs. Her tail lashed in its constraints, trying to break free. Maid In Korea Mumbles of what could be words whirred with excited yowls as Yuvanil gleefully led atop her captive, arms wrapping around the tail she continued to gnaw on. "Nn, tnastny mmvurmy much" Being rather bulky for her age was paying off, it was invigoratingly easy to overpower the other Cattaur. ChibiPoet As much as the younger was enjoying her larger size, Stains was disliking her own smaller state being quite the runt herself. She kept tugging pitifully on the others tait. "Nnnn. No tasty, no munch," she protested. Her attempts to get up resulting in rolling slightly to one side with her paws pushing at the ground. Maid In Korea Size wasn't always a virtue, she wobbled, paws slipping off. With a dampened 'thump' she rolled onto the ground, her legs sticking up into the air, her arms curled protectively around her head. "Nyaaaan!" she whined loudly, opening her eyes to see the other Cattaur from her unique and upside down perspective. ".... Me!" she shouted with inquisitive gusto, pointing suddenly at the other not too dissimilar Cattaur.
ChibiPoet Free of the added weight, Stains got her legs underneath her to take a few steps toward the laying down 'taur. "Me!" She said in responce, finger pushed to her chest, "You," she added firmly turning the finger to the other. She squinted a bit as though considering if the other was 'me' as well, but shook her head. "S'ains," she said with the finger back to herself, the 't' in her name lost in her mouth. Maid In Korea A loud yet obviously scaled down roar gallantly left the throat of the 'taur, sounding more like a lawn mower than a jet engine it must be said. "VAN!" she shouted again, seemingly too excitable to tone her voice down. Both of her hands waving extravagantly pointing in her general direction. Yuvanil's paws scratched at the turf beneath her, her miniature claws making quite a bit of a muddy mess. All the while the tip of her tail flicked as she eyed up Stains. ChibiPoet Not quite as excitable as the other, Stains was still plainly happy by the swish of her tail and the grin on her face. "Van!" she said, boncing once in place. Then her eyes took a mischevious glint as she turned her second bounce into a launching leap at her new romp-mate. She didn't mind tackles when she was the one doing the tackling. Maid In Korea Wide eyes and a playful smirk met the onslaught, crashing back down onto her belly Yuvanil yowled in delight and shuffled under Stains. Attempting to wriggle out from beneath her. "Stakeed!" She growled incoherently and gleefully, gently biting into the belly of her new playmate. ChibiPoet She'd put too much forward motion into her jump and was barely atop her playmate when she tumbled over to be beside her. Her arms grabbed wildly, seeking any part of Van to keep her from rolling further away. Maid In Korea Perpetual motion was a beautiful thing when working on such things as streams or wheels, but, two small Cattaurs, plus hill, plus onslaught of gravity wasn't particularly a prime or wanted example of it. Stains passed over the top of Yuvanil, then Van over Stains and the rolling continued. The hill had never seen so large. Closing her eyes and tucking her tail around a leg she clung tightly to Stains, still loudly wailing although this time not so much in amusement. ChibiPoet [[ I have to get ready for work soon, just a heads-up. I'll probably NPC mommy dear to fetch her little girl when it's time to go. ]] When Stains saw her companion also wan't in charge of the situation, her wails joined right alongside Van's as they tumbled. Her tail grasped at Van's paw and her arms clung tightly to the other cattaur all the way to the bottom.
A bit shakey, Stains began unwrapping herself from Van and Van from herself. She twisted around to lick at the fur on her back, the skin below itched a bit from the grass. Then she looked at Van. "Good?" she asked worredly.Maid In Korea [ Okay. <3 In advance : Hope ye have a nice time at work. ^3^ ]
Fur stuck up at obtuse angles, hair clung to her face which was also clustered with grass seed, a smile the size of a small galaxy plastered itself across her lips and two muddy hands clasped together in excitement. "'GAIN!" She murred, trustingly wandering up to Stains, licking some of her new friends' fur down to a more flattened state.
ChibiPoet [[ Thanks. smile I never know when it'll be a good or bad day... At least the good and bad are about tired right now, in the begining it was all bad. ]] One hand flicked a bit of Van's hair into place with a laugh. She glanced up the hill and, decided it hadn't really hurt and it wasn't scary. Not really. "Yeah!" she replied, hand out to hold Van's and start the climb back up.[[ It's so fun to RP without drama for a change. Drama's fun and all, but my teen agers are getting exhauting to RP. rofl ]] Maid In Korea [ Work's great as long as there's at least one person you can label 'friend'. It seems smoother then I must admit. Unless it’s one of ‘those’ days then you’re just doomed. xD; ]
Almost tripping as she was yanked around to climb the hill again she laughed, although it sounded more like a mewl to anyone that could hear. Her teeth glimmered in the bright sunlight as she smiled almost manically. She definitely was a hyper little thing.
ChibiPoet [[ 'twas fun! Oh! And we never did say whether they'd be related or not. I like the idea of being cousins if you want to. ]] Reaching the top there was seen an older cattaur with orange, black and white markings. Her honey colored hair was in many short braids with small beads tied to the ends which clinked whenever she moved. An odd thing for a stealthy creature to have. Stains thrust one hand into the air - the one not holding Van's hand - and exclaimed, "Look! Fun!"
"Mmmmmmyes, I'm sure it's fun but we must be heading in, Dear One." The older refereed to a sunken den ringed with fir and pine trees. "There will be time for fun after the rains, mmmmyes." The tiny girl glanced at the sky, not dark yet but clouds were coming all along one side. "Auhhh...." She glanced at Van with down cast eyes.
"There, there, mustn't pout," the older said gently, leaning down to pat the heads of both babes before sliding an arm under Stains and lifting her. "Say good by, Dear."
"Bu-bye Van!" Stains called when her mother turned to slowly walk away.Maid In Korea [ Oo, congrats ED. :D And aye it was, Chibi. Yeah, counsin's seems good indeed. ^____^= ]
Blinking quixotically Yuvanil backed away from the older 'taur as her newly found friend was taken from her. But, alas, her smile soon returned and she waved, enthused as per usual. "Bahii!" she squealed as her head was patted, a small purr following.

What's a Centaur? Featuring: Baby Stains and Adult An
C.y.n. (( I think I'm going with this colour, 'cause I think her coat is going to be more of a pink 3nodding might change it once I have her all coloured though )) An lounged in the grass flipping idly though the pages of a worn old text. She lived roughly halfway between the cattaur home city and the old ruins of the unitaur capital. She hadn't been born here but this was the place that felt most like home, so she stayed. Sometimes she'd still make the treck to see the old ruins, but the forest had nearly compleatly claimed them now and only her memories assured her that she was standing where the unis had built their city, at the source of all magic....
She had stoped flipping the pages of her book, lost in her thoughts...ChibiPoet [[ Pretty color. 3nodding ]] Finaly steady on her own legs, Stains had begun to explore somewhat on her own. There were boundries, sure, but with her parents usually close by the boundaries didn't matter so long as one of the older cattaurs was in sight. And that was the way of it today, with the gentle slopping of the ground, Stains could look back and see her mother and one of her many aunts in the shade of the tree discussing something called "magic". She'd gone past the old stump which marked how far she could go, but neither of the adults seemed to notice.
When Stains crested the rise she saw a new sight, a woman who looked nothing like her mother or aunts. What was she? Since her legs were tired anyway, Stains stretched out with her belly to the ground and leaned on her hands. She gave a curious and somewhat tenative sounding "Mue."C.y.n. ((Hey WNC!)) She wasn't so lost in her thoughts, however, not to hear the soft mew from over the hill. She refrained from looking up, sometimes the young kittens enjoyed having the chance to sneak up on her. She enjoyed the company of cattaurs over the company of her mother's tribe. They where always far more accepting of the use of magic, and posed fewer suspicious questions in regards to her commings and goings.
Grinning slightly she fliped the page of her book. ChibiPoet Tilting her head to one side, Stains considered for a moment the 'taur in front of her. She was usually the one snuck up on rather than the one to do the sneaking. Her whole face perked to attention though with the turning of the page. Now that was interesting. She scooted forward, would it move again? She inched along, tail swaying with excitement. C.y.n. An didn't even glance in the child's direction but instead continued flipping though the pages. She had been looking for something before, and even if she couldn't find it before the inevitable pounce she hoped she'd be able to remember what it was. ChibiPoet Her eyes glitered with excitement to watch the fluttering pages as she inched closer. Her tail was in a rapid swish now, making soft noise on the grass. Every now and then her eyes darted up to the woman's face. So this was why everyone went around sneaking, she felt doubly excited for trying to avoid notice. She tightened her hind legs for a spring.
"Go'dit!" she exclaimed when she did finally leap. She tried to jump over An's nearest hand and onto the book, however the momentum she had would only be enough to carry her a little more than halfway over the 'taur's hand. C.y.n. (( @.@ ok I'm gonna find something to eat quick heart Mah W.I.P. )) "It's a map book," Oh, that's right, she had been trying to pinpoint the location of the final battle of the great war, "It's really old though, almost everything has changed since it was drawn... Would you like to look though it with me, Little One?"ChibiPoet [[ Whoa, nifty and slightly eerie... ]] "Mab book," Stains softly repeated, the words making little sence to her but sounding somehow important. More words... old and changed, those made sence. What was drawn? Her brow furrowed in confusion but then relaxed and her eyes lit up at the chance to learn what it all meant. "Yeah yeah," she said, bouncing in place.C.y.n. ((it's so long overdue =P but this is the first time I've drawn one that I liked XD so I think it's gonna be worth the wait 3nodding )) "What an eager young thing you are! Alright," she flipped the pages to the map of Draiocht, "This is a map of the island, the cities where much smaller back then," She pointed to the cattuar city. Then smiled and said, "And the most intresting thing about this map... wait, do you belive in Unitaurs, Little One?"ChibiPoet "Unitaurs?" she asked, not quite pronouncing it right. She'd heard the word one other time in a story. "They visit dweams," she said excitedly. At least was what her mother had said. C.y.n. "Yes, well, the intresting thing about this map is that it shows a Unitaur city, on this very island!" She shifted her finger across the page and stoped on the second larger city. Secretly she wished that she could have seen the city in all it's glory in the days before the great war. The first time she had seen them the beautifull buildings still stood tall, a testament to the strong minds, magic, and muscle of their builders. But, they'd long been abandoned, with the pulse of life gone the city had only been a shadow of it's former glory. "It must have been wonderfull..." ChibiPoet Unitars here? CannI see 'em?" Her tail never seemed to stop swishing as she looked from An to the book and back again. C.y.n. An laughed, "Perhaps in your dreams, Little One." And looked over to the hill where the child had aproached from, it was unusual that a cattaur leave such a young child on it's own for so long. "Where is your mother, Little One?" ChibiPoet Stains looked a bit disapointed that An had given the same responce as her mother had to that question and then looked over her shoulder back down the way. She could see the stump from where she was, and the tree her mother must be sitting under still, but from this view could see neither mother nor aunt. "Uh-oh!"
She looked back at An. "I no' s'posed'ta pass stump," she said for explination, pointing to it. C.y.n. An placed the child upon her back, "Carefull not to fall off, lets go find your mother! She's probably getting worried by now."(( 3nodding Syrcaid's been working on those 3nodding )) ChibiPoet As Stains wove her fingers into An's hair, she remembered how different this 'taur looked from her family. She hadn't seen any creature but cattaurs on the island so far, and this woman had hair that grew short all down the middle of her back to the point where soft flesh met a reddish colored hide that was nothing like her own soft fur.
She cranned her neck up to stare at the back of An's head. "What're you?" she asked.[[ Hm... let's make up NPC names! ]] Alynn was heatedly argueing against the power her sister claimed lay in dreaming. Dreams could do nothing but tell you things, they had no other used! By heated she simply spoke quickly, Alynn never raised her voice for anything and rarely felt strongly enough about anything to say more than a few words.
Sighing, Kuriel glanced off to one side while her sister rambled on. "Alynn? Where is your daughter?" C.y.n. An looked back over her shoulder, "A centaur," On my mother's side anyways, "I live here but my people more often stay in the forests of their birth. But I don't mind, cattuars have very intresting conversations!"((I don't know how Stain's mother will react to An... she's a very old magic useing centaur <.< I bet you can guess at what pairing produced that 3nodding )) ChibiPoet Both adults had just gotten up when An came into view. Kuriel, who was more stripped than Alynn, narrowed her eyes a bit.
"Momma! Aunta Kuri!" Stains waved her hand at the two of them and tugged a bit with her other hand, it had gotten too wrapped into An's mane.
"Mmmmm, Dear One, there you are." Alynn looked smugly at Kuriel. "And she's just fine," she added.[[ I think the next post will have to be my last. ]] C.y.n. The half breed smiled as she approached the two cattaur, "She's fine, was just a little curious, is all." An lifted Stains from her back and passed the wiggling kitten to her mother. ChibiPoet [[ Yup, work. I work evenings during the first have of the week and lunch during the last half. I leave in about 15 minutes but need to log off to go get ready. 3nodding Thanks Cyn! It was fun today! Bye! ]] Stains giggled in delight to be held by her mother. "Mmmmm, thank you friend," she said absently, rubbing noses with her child. Kuriel stood silently though, eyes fixed only on An as the centaur left.

The Truth About Kit Featuring: Adult Azure, Child Kitrio and Adult Kvellin Date(s): 09/14/06
Azure let her hooves guide her, not really thinking about where she was heading. Kit was still very quiet and she sometimes wondered if he'd fallen asleep. He did like to take a nap in the middle of the day and Azure let him since he tended to fall over in what he was doing if he didn't get one. She stopped for a minute to stare at a row of flowers. They were familiar. She looked around quickly and tears stung her eyes when she realized where she was. "Mother..." she whispered to the lapping waves."So, is Gideon's bow so easily replaced?"Azure gasped when she turned around and them gulped back her fear. It was only Kvellin. Though only was a poor descriptor to attach to the centaur male. "Kvellin... I...""I suppose his was too large for you anyway," he added with a smile that did not touch his eyes. He moved with a hunter's grace, dark gray-blue hide moving like a shadow across the sand."I didn't know you were still here, Kvellin," Azure said. It was over a year now since she'd last seen him and Malviya. Fox Rain she kept seeing for bow lessons, and Unra would show up randomly to watch and make harsh comments, some explicit enough to make Azure blush."Yes, well Gideon wanted you to be well looked after..." he said. The tone of his voice made the words almost a joke.Azure's face flushed. "You- You've been following me! I DON'T need anyone watching over me! I can take care of myself!" She quickly brushed away her tears from earlier.Azure's outburst seemed to wash right by Kvellin, as all things did. He nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, you do seem rather capable now. I'd not choose you over Unra to watch my back, but you are no longer the wayward filly you were when we found you." His eyebrows raised a bit. "Looks as though you've found your own little bit of trouble to look after."Azure turned her head and saw Kit peering over her shoulder. "Good nap, Kit?" she asked.Kitrio didn't take his eyes off the other centaur. Not yet. He made a soft menacing sound, was this 'taur trustworthy? So far few had been."Kitrio, this is Kvellin. He's an old friend." She looked at Kvellin who actually looked amused for a change. "Poet gave me an egg to look after. Kitrio hatched from that egg."I'll be... they aren't all dead after all." Kvellin's hand knuckled against his chin while he thought. When he saw Azure's confused expresion he began to explain. "If I'm not mistaken, Kitrio is a harpy." He paused when Azure gasped and then went on. "There's been nothing but rumor and tall tail about them since the Naga and Unitaur wars... I assumed they'd all been hunted down and killed. Anyone who ever mentioned seeing one was usually not the reliable sort and had no proof to offer."Azure gulped. "How... do you think anyone else would recognize him?""Oh yes, quite a few at that. Given that you were raised mostly by a human... well she wouldn't have known anything about the War."Azure nodded. It made sense... Chane had also been raised by a human, so he wouldn't know a harpy when he saw it either. And Peir... she wondered why he didn't know. He did have a lot of dislike for Kitrio, but if he knew... he'd have probably told Azure and then would have tried to kill Kit.
"I have to keep him hidden... I have to keep him safe..." She trailed off, safe. She'd try to protect him after she'd ranted to anyone who tried to protect her? This was different though..."Oh I don't know how long you could keep him safe. Being a he then he's quite the commodity among the harpies. Assuming he's healthy of course." Now he really did look amused.Kitrio didn't seem to be understanding the conversation at all. He leaned over Azure's shoulder to look at her. "Is he safe?" he asked. He wasn't able to tell for himself this time. He wasn't threatening Azure, but he wasn't... Kit couldn't put his finger on it but the 'taur felt wrong somehow."Yes, Kit. Kvellin is safe..." Azure trailed off with a smile. Safe so long as you didn't try to harm anyone he cared about, but Kit wasn't likely to do that since that list was very short. She looked at him again. "So what about the others? Who knows?" she asked.Kvellin muttered something, still seeming amused, but Azure couldn't tell what he said. "Well, it was Fox Rain who first saw you with him. We decided Unra couldn't be trusted with the information and convinced her that raids were more interesting than wathing you. That wasn't very hard," he added with a grin, though it failed to touch his eyes. Whatever amusement he'd just experienced was now gone.
"And we haven't seen Malviya for a long time... He may have gone with Unra but..." he shook his head. "Don't worry about him. Well, that leaves me and yes, I'd seen him a few times while watching you. Never this close though, but now I believe Fox Rain." He nodded."So... what will you do now?" Azure asked."Go back into hiding I suppose. It's not been easy to keep an eye on you unseen and frankly I'll be glad when I can go back to the deep forest where no one goes." There was a haunting look to his eyes when he said this and he absently stroked on of the two long, curved knives that he wore in criss-cross holsters over his chest. He seemed to come back to the hear and now though and blinked a few times at Azure."So this is good by?" The way he stroked that knife... Azure had to wonder if whatever he'd been up to before had been any easier than watching her unseen."For a time at least," he said with that same smile that rose only as high as his nose. "Kitrio, I trust you to look out for Azure. And Azure, I know you'll do the same for him. If you see Malviya again... tell him I've gone home and so has Rain."Azure nodded, "I will. Um... good luck Kvellin. I hope we do meet again."The centaur gave a silent bow before turning to the trees. Even as he went through the first edge of brush he made no noise that Azure could hear. Is wasn't long before he was gone, lost in the shadows of the trees.

No Title Yet Featuing: Baby Stains, Baby Pyralis and Baby Yuvanil
ChibiPoet [[ Wha! *ducks and covers beneith the shower of info* OK, I'll start it up. If my responces come a bit slow, I'm sorry. I live for multi-tasking. 3nodding And my style and length tends to adapt to whoever I play with, so if you tend to post longer or shorter than this then I will do the same. 3nodding And for location, we're just in a random part of the island that's a bit overgrown. ]] Sneaking off was difficult now with Aunta Kuri always around. Stains was currently wiggling her way under a bush and out the other side, hoping her aunt was distracted enough not to notice. She wanted to find that centaur again and look at her map book. It had been interesting. She also wanted to know about the unitaurs.
"Oof!" Stains lost her balance again, crawling under bushes was difficult, but she was on the other side now with no view to her mother or her aunt. She grinned, freedom!Miko633 The day was a beautiful one, bright blue sky, hardly any clouds and the warm sun was shining down onto the land below. These were the thoughts on the mind of one Cattaur who was wandering through a glade a short way away from his home. Pyralis loved exploring and did so whenever he could get away from his mother for a bit. He hadn't gotten into any trouble yet and so he assumed that his mother likely didn't mind much.
Wading through the grass which was rather high for the young Cattaur that he was Pyralis glanced around looking for something interesting to inspect. His black hair shone in the sun and his deep blue fur accented with a medium grey in random places became ruffled with the wind. He paused and smiled enjoying the breeze playing on his face, thet grass tickling his body. His tail swished in amusement as the wind played with him. ChibiPoet -Cein-Isles- LoL! Glad you like them, I made them five minutes ago. rofl What was that dark speck within the grass? Well, no matter, it was neither pink nor red so it couldn't be the centaur. What was her name? Stains had forgotten to ask. She was used to knowing everyone's name since all she ever saw was her family.
With her head down and her tail high and swiching, Stains considered which direction to go in order to seek the centaur. Suddenly a small beetle jumped in front of her nose. She gasped and without even thinking, pounced but missed. The dark speck and the centaur forgotten, Stains followed the beetle as it led her a merry chase.Miko633 Pyralis opened his eyes the wind was done playing for now. He looked around once more and saw movemend to his left. Watching for a moment a cattaur came into view, and one his age too! It looked like it was following something although he couldn't see what from here. So adopting his very best sneaky walk Pyralis began moving through the tall grass towards the other cattaur.
He kept his eyes on his cream colored advirsary as he circled around so that he came up behind it. The other Cattaur seemed to be intent on it's goal of following whatever it was following and so Pyralis walked right up to the blonde one and promply said "Watcha' doin"? ChibiPoet "Waiii!" Stains' hind legs shot straight up and she pivoted on her front paws, fur stiff and erect. When she realized she'd only been startled by another cattaur she looked rather emberased and looked over her shoulder. "Chasin' a bug..." She trailed off, the beetle was nowhere to be seen now. Not only had she been snuck up on but she'd lost her bug too! What a way to start the morning.
"Whatchu doin'?" she countered when she didn't have anything else to say. Miko633 Pyralis laughed as the cream cattaur jumped in surprise at his spoken words. "You're funny, a bug? Where?!" he asked excited to find something fun to do afterall chasing bugs was pretty high on the fun list, right after playing with his dad and other cattaurs. "I'm not doin' nothin', just scaring you. But I'm gonna go 'sploring next. I'm Pyralis who're you?" the azure colored cattaur asked curiously. ChibiPoet "I donno," she said sadly. The bug certainly hadn't enjoied being chased and once free of the cattaur had taken wing to find safer grasses to do his own exploring.
"I'm Stains," she replied with a grin. "Do you go 'sploring alot?" she asked curiosely. Miko633 "Yep I go 'sploring alls the time when my daddy lets me go." He said with a grin. "I've 'splored lots of places! Like my home and this grass place and um...yeah I think that's it!" Pyralis continued standing proud while his tail swished wildly in excitement. "So you wanna go over that way?" He asked pointing off to the right from where they were standing. "I don't think I've been that way yet." ChibiPoet That sounded like an aweful lot of 'sloring, not about to be outdone though Stains added in her own list of places. "I've been on th'other side o'the bushes and to the top of the hill," she said quickly before turning to look out where he pointed. She made a nervous glance toward those bushes, her aunt could come through at any moment! "Yeah, let's go!" she said, her own swishing speeding up its tempo. Miko633 "Alright!" Pyralis stouted and charged off at a run towards the direction he had pointed in. The wind was trying to play with him again blowing his longish hair back behind him as he ran. However Pyralis was intent on his mission with Stains and so he ignored it at this time and ran over the top of the small rise they had been heading towards.
Pausing at the top he looked down over the area below with excitement in his golden eyes. Water. There was a river flowing down below and it looked like it went on forever. "Hey Stains come look, I found water!"Edit: Sure the more the merrier! Maid In Korea [ <3! ^__^ Thank you. Oo, where ye going Cyn? -Nosey.- :< ]
Glistening not far behind the sleeping Cattaur a river broke out into a calming burble, cooling the temperature down exponentially. Yuvanil's forelegs idly twitched at the caws and squawks of a flock of gulls which drew over her resting site unwelcomingly stirring the young Cattaur from her mid afternoon nap. Eyes still loosely closed she rolled into a comfier position, laying flat upon her belly, legs curled beneath her, gleefully basking in the warm summer sun. Arms snaked under her head as a make shift pillow, ears twitching as she dropped back into dreams. Yuvanil relived her favourite situation as she so often dreamt of it, clouds in the shape of river fish, swimming only centimetres away from her grubby grasp. Nostrils flared as she delved deeper into the dream, a paw kicking out behind her as soft purrs crept out of her lips. ChibiPoet Stains matched him stride for stride in the begining, but began to fall behind as the ground got steeper. She wasn't used to so much running, not yet anyway. She grinned though despite the difficulty, it was fun to be off and running! She stopped a couple of paces behind the darker colored cattaur to catch her breath a moment. "Water?" she asked.
She continued after him as though fully refreshed and looked down at the swiftly moving water. A part of her felt afraid, the water went on in both directions so far that she wondered where it began. Where it ended. "Is it safe?" she asked? Miko633 Pyralis looked at Stains with an odd expression on his face when she asked if the water below them was safe. "I dunno, never been here before. But we can find out!" he stated the tiny gears in his mind working quickly. He wanted to continue 'sploring but he didn't want to loose his new friend either.
"Maybe we could find a stick and see how far down it goes? Or we could just play tag and not go in it at all. Come on Stains it's just water, how can water hurt you?" he begged in a last dich effort to get her to agree with his idea. Maid In Korea Her eyes shot open at the sudden noise. Voices? Stretching, she eventually stood herself up and looked around. It was no one close but feline hearing was rather prone to picking up more far off sounds. She frowned, crossing her arms in frustration. "NYAAAAN. Who?!" She shouted loudly, startling a few finches which perched in the tree that stood tall above her. She prowled forward a few steps, eagerly awaiting an answer. ChibiPoet [[ Eep! Sorry for the delay. I'm multi-tasking as always... And Synn's on the cent/cervitaur island... ]] A cream colored ear twitched toward some far off sound and Stains looked to one end of the river consideringly. She looked back at Pyralis and grinned. Jumping forward she slapped a playful hand to his flank. "Tag!" She ran off giggling toward where that sound had come from.Miko633 Pyralis turned his head sharply at the sound of something yelling and in doing so missed Stains as she tapped his side yelling 'TAG' as she ran off. Forgetting the voice he grinned wildly and gave chase to the pale colored female. "You can't get away Stains! I'll get you!" he yelled trying to make his legs move faster she may have gotten a head start but he was gaining on her.
ChibiPoet Stains looked back over her shoulder every few steps. She giggled wildly when Pyralis yelled after her. It wasn't long before she realized that he was gaining on her. She tried running harder, faster... which is to say she started mooving her legs way more than necessary which only slowed her down more. "No no no! You won't catch me!" she shouted over her shoulder and then her eyes went wide when she saw he was even closer now.

Dreams and Journies Featuring: Adult Quicksilver and Adult An
ChibiPoet "Ahhhh." The cervi gave a luxurious sigh as she eased her way into the naturaly warm water. Hers was a tribe that dwelt in the beginnings of the mountain and was peppered with hidden pools of varying temperatures. Today, after a long practice with some of the younglings, Quicksilver had gone off on her own to the furthest of these pools. It was rarely used by the tribe at all. C.y.n. An was exploring, map book in hand. She knew that the Unitaur city listed in it's browing pages was real, so she'd become curious about some of the other strange listings. First and foremost a hot spring at the base of the mountains in the home land of the cervitaurs. She barely took her nose out of the book as she hiked about the base of the moutain. If the distances are all correct, and the springs are still there... I they should be comming into sight right about... SPLOOSH! An pulled her forhoof out the water quickly, laughing out of amusement and shock. "Oi, I need to learn to watch where I'm going!" ChibiPoet Even relaxed, Quick's guard wasn't down enough for her to not hear the soft sound of hooves in the grass and brush nearby. Her shoulders tightened a bit, recalling grim tales of stalkers and other vile creatures being so bold as to cross into the outskirts of town. Recalling too her own encounters, never with fewer than two others with her as they hunted for those who'd come too close. This was not their sound, but it never hurt to be cautios. She stayed in the pool so as not to make any noise, but her arm stretched out and rested beside the short curved sword she favored.
She blinked in surprise to see such colors on a centaur and upon noticing the woman's book. But she relaxed a bit, this one had not the look of a killer. She'd have said something sooner but reallt thought the centaur was more aware of her suroundings. She grinned though when the woman took one step too many and replied, "Aye, that you do." C.y.n. An looked up at the cervitaur woman in the pool and smiled, "These are hot springs? Oh! I'm sorry I suppose I should introduce myself before asking questions! My full name isn't important, everyone just calls me An!" ChibiPoet Quick nodded, "Aye An, these are hot springs. And I am called Quick." She tended to leave off the silver in all but the most formal occations. "What does your book tell you that's more important than your footing?" she asked with just a hint of amusement in her tone. C.y.n. An pointed downwards, "That there are hotsprings here, it's an old map book. I've been trying to find some of the older places that might not be around anymore." She smiled, "Mind if I join you for a bit?" ChibiPoet She kept grinning, it might have told her there were hot springs here but not their exact location it would seem. Quick had only the slightest experience with books and maps. "Not at all," she said, gesturing to the pool. It was large enough to fit half a dozen comfortably. She waited a bit before asking. "Old places you say? If they aren't around then... how do you find them?" Quick also wasn't much into history. If it couldn't weald a sword for or against you then it simply wasn't very interesting. C.y.n. "If they havn't crumbled and the physical markers havn't changed too much they're not so hard to find. But, unfortunatly often either one or the other has happend which makes them near imposible to pin-point!" An waded into the water, "Are they all this warm?" ChibiPoet Quick nodded knowingly, though she didn't understand much of it at all. She lived in a smaller off-shoot of the main cervi homelan, one composed mostly of tents with a few wooden structures. And none of that ever 'crumbled'. "Theh're all a bit different, some warmer and some not quite as warm," she said. "And it don't matter the season, year long they're the same," she added. C.y.n. An relaxed into the water. "That's because the water comes from deep underground, down that far seasons don't matter. This one is a nice temperature though. I should try to come back here one day." She turned so that she could look though the book with out the steam from the water saturating it. "This is gone," she said to herself, pointing at a large rock marked on the map, "I would have seen that." ChibiPoet That sounded like a familiar explination, though why the seasons didn't touch the places beneath the eart was beyond her. Quick turned a bit to try and get a better look at the book. "So are you looking for anything in particular?" She wondered if she'd be able to help find any landmarks. C.y.n. "Sort of... I'm looking for the place my father passed away. I have a... very genral idea of where it might have been, but I've always wanted to find the acctual location. Finding all these older areas is sort of like practice!" An smiled and looked over at Quick. "If you could go anywhere where would you want to go?" ChibiPoet "Hm..." That sounded like a personal quest, one best left without questions. Her gaze shifted to take in the upward slope of the mountain and she said, "To the top o'the highest mountain." She looked back at An with a grin. "Ain't too many as climb that high anymore but I want to do it." C.y.n. "Oh, I'm sure you'd meet some intresting folks if you ever sought to compleate that goal! Hmm... That reminds me! I really ought to go a little higher in these mountains again some day. There are some lovely veiws up there!" And some old friends. ChibiPoet "Ah, you're pulling my leg. No one actually lives up there," she said with a laugh. Those who went even half as far always said so. C.y.n. "Oh?" She frowned, "Pitty, I always thought they did. Dosn't matter though, you'll see for yourself one day! I'm certain of it!" ChibiPoet "Thank you," she said cheerily for the vote of confidence. Her eyes slid toward the mountain again in thought. She let the steam and heat continue to soak in and soothe her sore muscles. C.y.n. ((sorry I totaly got distracted sweatdrop )) An flipped though the pages of the book, "When this was made the highest mountain waaas... Here." She pointed to a symbol on the map. "And there where villages here, here, here.... and here. They have probably moved by now though, this book is really old."ChibiPoet [[ No problem. I figured you were having just as hard a time as I was coming up with something to say... my inspiration has gotten low as the night goes on. ]] Quick looked at the map and wrinkled her nose a bit in mild frustration. "But where is that to here?" she asked.C.y.n. "This is the hot springs here," she pointed, "I'm not sure where in here we are but it should give you a general idea." ChibiPoet She nodded. It was all she could do not to hop out of the pool now and begin the journey she dreamed. But duty kept her, duty to the younglings she was teaching. In a few seasons... maybe... "Thank you, I will remember this," she said. A breeze came by and fluttered the trees and she looked up. "I... should be getting on now," she said reluctantly, not moving to go yet. C.y.n. ((HI!)) "As should I!" An said, getting up, "I have some friends in these parts I really ought to visit and I've idled in the hotsprings well long enough! Thank you for the nice chat, Quick. I hope to meet again sometime!"ChibiPoet Quick nodded. "Me too," she replied while stepping out of the pool and gathering her things.[[ Wheee! First complete Quick RP! ]] C.y.n. An shook her self off then trotted off into the mountains turning back only once to wave good-bye.

The Waif and the Minstrel Featuring: Adult Azure, Adult Fiore, and Baby Orphen
ChibiPoet ((I don't mind if you join in ED, don't know about Moose. I'm starting Azure in what I imagine to be the border between the more dangerous deep forest and the slightly more open outer forest.)) Azure stopped at the edge of the deeper forest, breathing the slightly fresher air where the trees pressed less closely together. Behind her there was a slight movement in the trees, then it was gone. She smiled to see brighter sunlight then she'd been experiencing for the last few days on her extended hunt. She hadn't gotten as much as she'd have liked to, but it would have to do for now. Kitrio had decided to stay behind on his own, he'd become as good a hunter as she - she wouldn't admit that he was better.
Thinking of the harpy, she glanced back into the dense trees and hoped he'd be alright before she set off down a slightly-trod path.Painted Moose Moose says; " Join the happy crew! " pirate Fiore clung to a batch of freshly picked flowers, frowning as the forest thickened. It seemed that the earlier thought 'short cut' was a lost cause. Pausing in a treeless patch, he basked in the sun's warmth. He enjoyed sunny days to the fullest and thought of them as priceless gifts; maybe even his flowers did, too.
It was here that he tucked his legs under him and began to work on a new flower crown. Tugging little stems through one another, he decided to pick up an old satyr's tune to whistled away the time. eternaldelusion ((Whoo! 83)) Orphen watched Fiore carefully from the distance. He was making flower crowns...Orphen loved making flower crowns. He wanted to go over there and make them too, but he was too shy. Playing with his fingers, he took a step closer. And another, and another, then froze, now out of the bushes, but still at a distance. He looked about ready to turn and bolt back to where he could hide.
He hesitated, then moved a little bit closer, and cleared his throat, trying to catch the other's attention, without actually having to say anything.ChibiPoet ((Flower crowns!)) Not far down her own path, Azure thought she caught the sound of a tune on the wind. She paused, the tune was unfamiliar but yet... familiar. She began to follow the sound of it, quickly at first but then more slowly as she realized what it might be that she heard. She had danced to a satyr's song before, but knew little of them. Would she frighten it away if she came too quickly?
She finally came close enough to make out a shape in the trees. As she came closer she realized it was not a satyr - and she should have noticed the difference between whistling and pipes. She watched the cervi for a while, wondering if he was as skittish as many of the others she'd met. A smile spread across her face as she recalled happy times weaving flowers with new friends and with Chane. She reminded herself to see how he and Little Deer were doing, and San.
She came out from the cover of the trees. She said nothing, not wanting to stop him from carrying on his tune.Painted Moose { xd Go random adult, go! surprised }
Fiore weeved and tossed, pulled and tugged. Tapping his fore leg on the ground, he made a little bit of a tapping noise on a small rock beneath his hoof that carried well with the tune.
After making a nice crown of pink and blue flowers, he rose his head to pick the dying flowers off his antlers and froze. It seemed that his song that carried much more than joy to him. " Well, hello there, " He noticed the young cervitaur first and noting his nervous posture, smiled gently. " It's alright. Their just for show. " Tapping a calloused finger on the tip of a rather sharp horn, he noticed yet another.
" My, my! How music does travel. " The female centaur looked to be a hunter, what with her bow and catch. He shivered. Killing of any kind was wrong to him. Never the less, he motioned for her to come closer. " Come, rest a while and join me! " eternaldelusion Orphen giggled and moved over, sitting down a couple of feet from Fiore. He blinked, and looked at Azure, then waved, before hiding his face, embarassed. He wasn't used to talking to new people, and couldn't even bring himself to give a proper greeting. But they seemed nice! ChibiPoet Azure drew her legs underneath her to sit in the small clearing with the pair, her head nodding slightly to the beat. She grinned when he spoke, he seemed one of those infectiously happy people. "Thank you." Her grin widened at the young one's behavior but she remembered how close they were to the deep forest and her face became thoughtful.
"Have you seen any others nearby on your way?" she asked the cervitaur, concerned that the young one might be out so far from known tribal grounds alone. Painted Moose { ~ish poke~ Oo ~glomps Musica, followed by her gang~ heart }
Fiore chuckled at the young one's actions but didn't say anything. Wherever he felt most comfortable was where he should be. Handing a bunch of multi-colored flowers to the both of them, he started working on a second crown.
" Your very welcome. " Just to have the company was heaven to him. " Any others? I know I haven't seen anyone other than yer'selves. " Remembering that tribes were strong in this part of the world, he kept quiet about his lack of. eternaldelusion Orphen started on his crown, his tail flicking happily behind him as he weaved rather expertly. When you spent most of your time making these, it happens. He looked up curiously, listening to them talk. Other people...? Hm... "Cheveyo and his family live that way," he said, pointing, "I saw Cheveyo just before, he walked to the creek that's over there with me, then kept going." ChibiPoet Although she worried she might have forgotten how to, Azure's hands fell easily into the simple pattern she once used to weave so often. It calmed her some to know there was at least one other with the child, but to have let him wander so far away... Perhaps someone ought tell this Cheveyo that the deep wood could be deadly for a small child.
"Does Cheveyo know you're out on your own?" she asked, assuming he was a parent or guardian. Painted Moose Raised on hearing old codger's tails of big, scary woodland creatures, Fiore was very adament about finding out why this Cheveyo character hadn't been keeping a better eye on the fawn. He was about to ask the question of why when the female beat him to it.
A gentle smile crept up on him. It was nice to know of someone else who at least cared for a child's safety, unlike the hooligans he'd been staying with recently. " Do you have family close by? Perhaps I could escort you to them after you've done. " eternaldelusion Orphen blinked, confused, "Uh huh...he walked with me because we were going in the same direction. I'm trying to find my travelling partner," he said, smiling and nodding, and looking back down at his crown, but kept talking, "I wanted to go see Cheveyo's babies, but I'm much too busy!" Though, apparently, not too busy to stop and making crowns. He looked to Fiore, then smiled, "Oh, no, no family." ChibiPoet Azure chewed at her lip, wondering how much of what the child said was just his own child-like point of view. "Well... maybe we can help you find," she began, "your traveling partner." Whoever that might be. Remembering how the child had been shy before, she introduced herself hoping it would make him more willing to accept their help. "I'm Azure, what's your name?" Painted Moose Fiore picked up another hap-hazard dandelion and strummed it through with the others. In due time, all the questions would end and he wouldn't have to worry about accusations of mis-conduct because of his free lance life style. Instead, he opted for a listening session in which he would prove that everything was okay.
eternaldelusion Orphen smiled at her widely, "Thank you for offering, but it's ok. I won't leave this area, so I'll be alright. My name is Orphen," he said, nodding, then looking at Fiore with a curious look on his face, "What's your name, mister?" Yay, he was making new friends. He failed to realize all the people he'd talked to were much older than himself. And if he did realize, he'd probably fail to really care. ChibiPoet Azure glanced down at woven flowers. She certainly didn't want to impose her will on any 'taur, not the way Peir had done with her. But this child could come to great danger on his own. For the time she would let it lie, while she was with the child she would let no harm come to him.
She gave a small sigh and continued quietly on her crown glancing toward the cervi. Painted Moose { Sorry guys, but this is it for the night. Gots to go to sleep, I do. 3nodding I say we continue this at some point or another, though. } Fiore paled. Mister? Oh holy smokes, he really had gotten old. Not spending much time around anyone young, he never thought about it much before but now he felt like some kind of coot. " My name is Fiore. "
He peeped over to where Azure sat and smiled. If he was right, then she wasn't much pleased with the way the situation had turned. { Work/School should be banned! >D }

Chance Meeting Featuring: Adult Azure and Adult Boann
ChibiPoet OK. With a cloak wrapped tightly about herself to keep out the chill air, Azure entered a clearing in the lightly forested area between where the centaurs and cervitaurs dwelled. She knew she should be preparing for winter, but today she did not feel like doing anything productive. She had chosen this clearing because it was so beautiful, at least it was when there were more leaves on the trees and blooms in the grass. She let her hands drop from her cloak so it would swing open and hang about her while she tried to decide whether or not to stay or convince herself to get things done.Gataki Boann was bent over thick winter berry bushes on the east side of a beautiful clearing she had just came across in her black rabbit fur coat that her mother had made for her so long ago. The winter air felt good on her bare arms and the cool air nipped at her nose and ears. She held a small basket in her arms as she picked the small bright red berrys. She had already gatherd half a basket, but it was hard to fill the basket when she kept poping one, or maybe three or four in her mouth at a time. ChibiPoet A breeze blew into Azure's open cloak and she wrapped one hand in it to hold it steady. When the wind died down for a time she noticed someone by the berry bushes and began walking over. "Hello," she said, "It's rare to find anyone here so close to winter," she commented. Gataki Startled Boann sprang up ready either fight or run. As she turnd she saw a female centaur walked tward her. She set down her basket close too her. "Sorry, I didnt mean too be so jumpy I really didnt think anyone was close too here. I'm just out here too collect the early winter berrys." she offerd a smile and a hand as the centaur came closer to her. "I'm Boann, I'm from a small group we like too call the Moonwalkers." ChibiPoet Azure returned the smile and hand with her own. "A pleasure, Boann. I'm Azure. Of nowhere in particular," she added with a chuckle. Boann's reaction was no surprise, it seemed in all of Azure's dealings with cervi that they were a bit more skittish than others. She glanced at the basket. "Would you like any help?" she offered. She didn't have her own basket on hand, but she figured she could improvise something.

(No title yet) Featuring: Adult Quicksilver and Adult Yakira
ChibiPoet Wearing a cloak made of fur and carrying a walking stick in one hand and a spear in the other, a lone cervitaur picked her way carefully up a rocky path. At least she hoped it was a path and not another dead end. Below her stretched ravines and rocky cliffs down to the thick trees of the deep forest. She had come through more adversity just to reach the base of the great mountains then she thought she would encounter in the whole of her journey. Beneath her cloak her arm was wrapped from an attack by a strange creature - something she hadn't even known existed in the woods and for which she had no name for. She hoped her journey was now half over, but time would show her that she still had a long way to go.
A gust of wind whipped through and she juggled with keeping hold of her spear and holding her hood down over her eyes against the biting wind. At interval she mumbled to herself, partly about the cold but mostly about her own stupidity for starting her journey at such a season. She kept walking, her staff finding solid ground for her. When her staff failed to touch ground though she halted and peeked out from her hood.
She let go of the hood and let the wind whip it back over her back while she stared in fascination at what was before her. She was at the edge of a cliff, no a canyon, and with her goal looming up on the other side of the great valley. There she saw the distinctive rock coloration that pointed out the tallest mountain on Meith Foraois. Some of the more learned in her tribe had explained that the mountain was of a different rock type, but that didn't matter to her. All she knew is that she would be the first to reach its top! To her left the cliff curved out of sight so she chose to go right. Perhaps she could find a way down and across.[[Sorry to take so long with that. smile ]] Sabra Knight {It's fine biggrin } Yakira perched in the low branch of the lone oak tree to take time to preen her wings some. It had been a harsh flight from the even colder north to arrive where she was at now… “Talking of which.” She peered out from beneath her snow white wing tipped with red, “Where exactly am I?” She murmured…after all the only thing she knew was to follow the stream. That’s what the syrin boy had told her…but now she was in this valley with very few trees. Kind of reminded her of her secluded cave that had served as her home for so many years. After all she had been abandoned as just a young child barely used to the world…and since then had been living on her own by her own abilities. Figuring that she had had just enough rest, the harpy launched herself into the air and back out of the canyon. She didn’t even care that her white and red feathers were easy to spot with the sky being a gray behind her. Was that someone on ahead, just up there? She flew near, her energy renewed with interest. ChibiPoet When the red and white movement caught Quick's eye, she moved back from the cliff edge and against a rocky outcropping. It did not shield her form sight, but she hoped she could blend there for a moment while she tried to figure out what could be coming in the air... and toward her?! It was bigger than any bird she had ever seen, bigger even than a great eagle. There should be nothing in the sky but birds, of that she was certain.
With that thought she let her staff clatter to her feet and was quick to kick it away from the drop off near her. She firmed her grip on the spear and with her now free hand dug under her cloak for her dagger. She had been careless the first few days, but she would let no unknown beast of the island catch her unawares again! Sabra Knight {Aww..I will try to be on for another hour or so myself. 3nodding } Yakira shook her head before landing lightly on the ground keeping some distance between her and the silver one. "Ah, from your point of view I guess I would be the wierd thing." She laughed lightly with some chirps, "I'm a harpy and like you are made of flesh and bone...with feathers of course as well."
Her talons dug into the ground. If it weren't for her meeting that syrin boy she'd be even more amazed and freaked out about this meeting...like the silver one was. "And no, you're not dreaming." Doing a slight bow she introduced herself, "I'm Yakira, silver one."{Bye! And you're welcome.^^ ~lurks for Chibi's return~} ChibiPoet *has never seen 23* She made no move yet to reveal her hand (under the cloak, holding the knife) nor to let her spear drop. She raised it some as the harpie landed but as the creature did not approach her, Quick held her place.
"A harpie... but you are all gone!" Her eyes narrowed recalling the stories of the old war - though she had only listened to the accounts of combat and bravery, never caring for descriptions. To her mind there had been no descriptions of harpies, they were gone so no one knew what they looked like. "And because of you so are the noblest creatures to ever set hooves to earth!"[[I am assuming that the rest of the 'taur races don't know the harpies were bullied into joining the naga.]] Sabra Knight {Okay.^^} Yakira dropped her gaze at the last bit, "Aye...we exist....and truly what happened in the past with the harpies...it wasn't their choice to help in that awful war. If they didn't...they'd lose something precious to our survival...our eggs."
Her eyes lit up with spirit, "It wasn't me who fought anyways!" She hissed, "I wasn't back then to fight...shoot I probably wasn't an egg then anyways...and as you can see I really don't have much to do with the rest of my kind!" She took a deep breath and continued with a much calmer air, "Can you hate me and my kind for something we didn't willingly want to do?" The words came out softly filled with a bitter swell of emotion.ChibiPoet Who knew if a harpie was to be trusted or not? Was she a good actor? The reality felt too... real, Quick had at least decided she wasn't dreaming. This was happening. This was real. "How do I know you tell the truth?" She felt in charge of the situation at least, she hadn't noticed any weapons on this harpie. Knowing nothing of the benefit an air strike could give an army she had a hard time believing they'd been such a threat in the past anyway, to see one now. Skinny legs. Wings to get in the way. It was hard to even imagine how one would hold a weapon looking like that. Sabra Knight The harpy shrugged, "Only I know if I tell the truth, so it only depends on whether you wish to believe me or not. Either way I don't care, since I do know that what I speak isn't lies." She looked up at the graying sky, "Looks like another snow flurry." She murmured softly.
Her talons dug sharply into the ground as she peered around, forgetting the silver one for a second. "Do you have any shelter? Any cave that you know of nearby?" Yakira asked, but what the creature did wasn't really of her own concern. {Shoot, I've got to leave really soon. I'll try to get in one more reply...} sweatdrop ChibiPoet She found that despite the creature's words and lack of attack that she did not want to believe. Did not want to betray those who had suffered just for calm words. But she also could not press an attack on someone who had not threatened her. She decided - for now - to let the matter lie. She neither beleived nor disbelieved, and nor did she completely trust. She was still wary of the harpie, but released her hold on the dagger under her cloak and also looked to the sky.
"I think you are right," she said softly. Her eyes narrowed again as shed quickly added, "About the snow. I do not know whether to accept your words or not!" She sighed, she had spoken more harshly than she intended. "And no, I have found none for the night... nor the snow... I... do not know this area," she admitted reluctantly. Sabra Knight {I've got to go for the night. crying ..bleh. I hope we can continue this one later? smile } Yakira sighed...but she knew and understood the silver one's reasoning. "There are caverns just to the left of this path that you can shelter in." She indicated the small ridge that had been worn down by the harsh winter winds. "I noticed them just while ago on my way here."
Lunching herself in to the air she called, "I'll be around if you need help! I just need to get some things together before the snow starts!" With that she turned and started in the other direction. {Good night everyone!} ChibiPoet As Quick went her own way and the snow got worse, she began to argue with herself. She had so far seen nothing for shelter, down on her left the cliff was sheer and gave no clear, safe path down. And up on her right the rock was equally flat. After parting ways with the harpie she had seen nothing but this ever-shrinking ledge and she worried she'd run out soon.
But she couldn't go back! Pride wouldn't let her. If only that harpie hadn't come along, she was certain she'd have eventually found the caves herself... But now she'd be admitting she needed help from one of them if she turned around and went back. A loud clattering of stones made her jump back suddenly, she'd run out of ledge! She began to backtrack very slowly and very carefully, it would be many paces back before she had enough room to turn. She cursed the cold and the snow under her breath, and the harpie for finding shelter first. She could only hope there was at least one cave or overhang before wherever the winged one had deided to shelter. Maybe if she went quietly she could avoid her. And if she started very early in the morning then the harpie might still be asleep and she could pass by her shelter unnoticed.
She finally came to the place where the ledge was thick enough for her to turn around and started back the way she came at a more relaxed pace. It wouldn't be too much longer before she came to where she'd first seen the harpie, and then she'd continue that way until she found shelter. Sabra Knight Yakira veered back down the mountains with an awful expression on her face. The snow was getting even worse and now she realized how stupid she’d been to direct the silver one to such a dangerous path. “Not everyone has wings!” She mumbled to herself annoyed, “Idiotic harpy that I am…” She sighed and hoped that the silver one was okay.
The harpy had flown the opposite direction that she had sent the silver one on and landed in a small cave that was just barely off the path. It had just enough room for two and the harpy decided to let the silver one use this cave for shelter incase she hadn’t of made it to the others.
But now she was quickly approaching back to where they’d first met and with a worried call she landed to look around, “Silver one?! Are you okay?!” She yelled, but not too loudly for fear of attracting anyone else’s attention…if there was anyone else in this area that is. But she continued to turn her head and look, it was quite hard to see in the almost blinding snow. ChibiPoet Quick had her staff out far in front of her to find her path, she couldn't see the hard rocky earth for all the snow on and around it. Her other hand was wrapped tightly in her fur cloak, which kept her torso warm enough to let her keep going. But she could feel that her legs would not go on much longer as exposed as they were.
The wind seemed to be saying her name and she was becoming more delirious with the chill. "It's just Quick," she mumbled, "No one uses Silver anymore..." She looked up and thought she saw some patch of red. "And now the snow bleeds," she said to herself, still mumbling. Bleeding snow, was that somehow important? Hadn't she met an evil spirit the color of bleeding snow? She couldn't remember and as she tried to her front legs buckled. She'd have pitched over entirely if it weren't for her staff. The part of her aware enough to know she was in danger held tightly to the staff but the rest of her body sagged, quite willing to try and sleep. Sabra Knight Yakira jumped and ran straight to Quick. "Follow me!" She yelled through the wind and snow, even though she figured that Quick wasn't really in her right mind due to the freezing cold. Pushing her in the right direction she began directing them both towards the cave.
Her talons dug into the edge of the hard ground and she held one wing out to keep balance while using the other to direct Quick and to somewhat warm her up. "Keep moving and don't quit! Just a little bit more and we'll get you to shelter!"
She was surprised at her own struggle to help the taur. But then again...she couldn't leave her out here in this horrible weather that could end up in death! So with that thought firm in mind, Yakira kept mumbling words of encouragement to Quick while helping her forward. ChibiPoet Noticing swift movement, Quick woke somewhat, but not enough to properly defend herself if it was an attack. Why would the snow attack anyway? She felt herself hustled to her feet and prodded along. Yes, must move... so cold...We? Perhaps some of her friends had come after her, looking for her. They said they wouldn't though... they thought she was crazy for wanting to climb the mountain which no one climbed.
She stumbled along, relying heavily on her staff and the one leading her. When she nearly tripped she reached for the arm beside her and was slightly jolted into awareness. Feathers... The awareness didn't last long enough for her to process that information though.
When she felt the wind lessen in strength against her and her footing become more sure in the shelter of a cave swept free of snow, Quick let herself give into sleep and collapsed. Sabra Knight Yakira sighed in relief as they entered the cave. She herself couldn't really remember much of what she'd said to the taur except to keep moving. But now that she had shook the snow off of her feathers and was more orientated in the cave she looked about for some of the small twigs she'd gathered just before meeting Quick for firewood.
Taking two stones in her talons one of flint and the other more steely she clashed them together until a small spark lit the twigs. 'There...we should be warmed up very soon.' Worn out she relaxed with her back against the wall watching both Quick sleep and the small fire. ChibiPoet It was much closer to sunrise than sunset when Quick first stirred. She first noticed the sound of a fire and then that she wasn't cold. She tucked one leg in closer that had escaped the covering of her cloak - mostly not cold. Her most recent memories seemed a dream-like state. Blood on the snow... Feathers... She slowly opened her eyes and began to look around. How had she gotten here? She shifted some to see outside where the snow fell softly and the wind no longer howled. It was still quite dark and she reasoned that she must have not yet slept through the night.
The harpie! Could she leave now to try and avoid meeting her in the morning? Another glance outside told her that was not wise. Softly falling snow could quickly become a storm, and she wasn't certain she could read the weather of the mountains as she had done the hills.
It was then that she became aware of another presence. How did I get here? And she saw the harpie! Sabra Knight Yakira held her eyes down as if asleep for in fact she had dozed off just a little bit after rechecking the fire. But now she was awake and could see Quick stirring.
But still she didn't know how to act towards the taur since she knew that Quick had only been out of it from the freezing weather and didn't really register Yakira as the harpy from before. Bleeding snow...she recalled hearing Quick say last night. Which was something similiar to what she'd called herself in the far away past. "A bleeding rose upon the snow..." She had whispered to herself before sleeping last night.
And now that Quick was up she opened her eyes and gazed at her. "Feeling better?" Chirped Yakira lightly, trying her best not to frighten her. ChibiPoet She wondered for a moment if the harpie was asleep. I will be no one's prisoner! She looked around for her staff to help her up, sitting on a cave floor for most of the night had stiffened her up a bit. She flinched when she heard the harpie speak. Not asleep after all...
Quick moved slowly to better situate herself for facing the harpie, no sudden movements... She didn't want the harpie to strike if she thought Quick was trying to escape. Though from the sound of the harpie's voice - Yakira? - it didn't sound as though she were a prisoner. What made this harpie trust her? She could have easily left Quick out in the snow. And if the harpie had indeed dozed off, why did she trust Quick to not harm her in her sleep?
"I- Yes..." She wasn't certain what to say... perhaps the harpie only saved her because she wanted something from her. If that was the case she certainly would not render thanks. However, friend or foe the harpie had introduced herself when Quick had chosen not to. It was only right to return the gesture.
"I am called Quick by my tribe, Quicksilver by my mother," she said. Sabra Knight "Quicksilver..." Yakira nodded, "A lovely name that suits you." She smiled, but still made no quick movements. Still she couldn't resist the urge to add in, "Should I reintroduce myself as Yakira or as Bleeding snow, since you called me that so much last night?"
But she looked out of the entrance with a slight frown, "I wonder if another storm will hit today?" She mumbled softly more to herself than to Quick. ChibiPoet Quick looked away for a moment, she wasn't used to favorable comments of that type. "You may be quick, but your head certainly isn't." She shook her head, "I shall call you Yakira," she stated.
Looking outside she pondered where she had gone wrong in figuring the weather. Clouds close in to the mountain with light winds meant a storm was still a day, at most two, off. And when she had started out last morning that was how things were. "I do not know," she said. "I know the weather of the hills, but the mountain is strange." Sabra Knight The harpy followed Quick's gaze and frowned even more, "It really is strange." She sighed, "But then again I've never been that good at telling much about the weather." Or sometimes I can't even tell much about others and their true intentions for that matter...
Standing she moved to the outside of the cave with the light wind barely lifting some of her scarlet hair. "Usually I just fly and hope for the best...but I don't think it should storm again today." She shrugged, "But then I could be wrong...again." ChibiPoet She was heartened that she might know something someone did not, for that was rare. She slowly got up as well and looked to the mountain tops. "It will be storming today in the hills," she said while studying the sparse clouds around the mountain top. "And will pass on tomorrow." Then she looked down somewhat dejected. "But that does not tell me what the mountain will do. It stormed yesterday. A day early, I thought." Sabra Knight The harpy listened intently to Quick. 'She must be used to traveling and telling weather.'Yakira looked up at the sky for a moment still listening, "Then that means the storm from the mountain traveled down to the hills...so shouldn't there be somewhat clear weather today, unless another storm was right behind the first?" She pondered outloud before glancing back at the taur. ChibiPoet Quick concentrated on this for some time. The wise one said weather traveled just as she did, it took certain times to go certain distances and did not stay still. What the harpie said seemed to match this.
"Then it may be safe to travel today." She did not intend to go with the harpie, though she knew she had only one choice for her direction having reached a dead end traveling one way on the cliff. Sabra Knight Yakira nodded, "Best to get started soon." Her stomach rumbled quietly and the harpy realized that she hadn't eaten since yesterday around high noon. She closed her eyes and thought quickly, surely Quick had not had any food since last evening as well. "After eating first that is." Her talons clicked against the stone floor of the cave. "But that involves hunting for something...." She chirped and turned to look at Quick, "If you don't have anything, I can go and find us some meat...you do eat meat don't you?" She asked still feeling somewhat nervous around the silver one. ChibiPoet As though joining the conversation, Quick's stomach gave an answering rumble to Yakira's. Hunting had slimmed as the cold grew, she'd only been able to kill what she needed as she went with nothing stored but some edible roots and berries. "I- er, yes, I eat meat. And other things as well." She was still struggling with the fact that she was having a normal conversation with a creature out of history. An evil creature out of history.
"I've not seen much in these parts since the ground turned so hard," she said with a light tap with one cloved hoof on the stony ground. "If you can find meat, I will keep the fire tended and be ready to prepare whatever you find." It would be a good test to discover if this strangely shaped bird could indeed hunt. And if not, well there were the edible - if not quite palatable - roots and berries. Sabra Knight Yakira nodded, "I will go and see what I can find." She stepped carefully onto the edge of the cliff before diving off and opening her wings to catch flight on the wind. Veering to the left she found a small valley in between the mountain cliffs. ‘Please let there be a good sized prey.’ She closed her eyes and slowly opening them focused in on the ground below. There! A gray patch of fur against the snowy landscape, it was a snow hare that hadn’t grown complete white fur. She swooped around before some what closing her wings against her body leading into a dive. Talons out, the harpy accelerated with shocking speed to catch the plump snow hare by the throat. Ignoring the red stained snow she lifted back up into the air with the meat firmly in her talons. She silently offered thanks for its life and started to quickly fly back.
Soon she approached the cave…“I was lucky…it came out of its hole as I approached the area.” She commented landing and then laid it on the outskirts of the cave. “Is that enough?” She asked looking at Quick. "I could always go scout around for more, but it might take longer since the animals know that a hunter is near." ChibiPoet Quick got as near to the edge as she dared to watch the first few moments of Yakira's flight. There was something useful at least, she could get to the valley from here while Quick still had no idea of the way down and across to the mountain. She went back inside and rearranged the sticks near the fire and chose the longest ones to set up a roasting spit. She had just enough time to leave once for some more fuel for the fire before Yakira returned.
She had to admit she was impressed, her original assessment about the fighting ability of such a shaped creature hadn't changed much and she felt a brief moment of curiosity for how the hunt had been in person. "Eating light is best for long travel, and in case another storm waits on the other side of the mountain, delay would not be wise." Without waiting for a response, Quick took the hare, with her dagger she skinned and spitted it.
Feeling that she'd not done nearly the work Yakira had done, she looked the harpie over a bit. "How are your legs in this weather?" she asked bluntly. Sabra Knight "True." Yakira watched Quick as she worked with the hare. Then she cocked her head in surprise as the silver one asked her a question. "My legs?" She looked down at her pale legs and to her talons which had the small red thorn like designs on them. "I must admit to being slightly chilled, but my legs are used to such weather." She admited and after a small pause added, "What about you? How do you fair in such weather like this?"
Just talking about the cold though had made the harpy move closer to the fire and she sat back down, with her eyes on Quick. ChibiPoet She wondered if the harpie just didn't want to admit to the cold, her legs seemed so unprotected... Quick gestured to her cloak which she'd spread by the fire to soak up as much of its warmth as she could. "The cold here is more than I've ever known before, but so far I have had... enough protection." Se recalled this past night. Well, if she'd known the snow was going to get so bad she wouldn't have been out in it.
The hare skin was also stretced by the fire, held with small stones barely more than pebbles. "I could fashion something for your ankles." She shifted some where she was sitting. "I find having fur helps..." Sabra Knight Yakira looked at the fur and closed her eyes thinking and imagining what having fur around her ankles would be like. "If they won't block my talons..." She murmured and opened her eyes, "Would you really want to?" She paused, "I mean...spend time making something for me...but I would love to try your idea."
The harpy smiled, "It'd be great to have something to keep the wind from touching my ankles." ChibiPoet Quick felt a moment of discomfort and it showed. "It's not a gift," she said simply. "A trade. Cooking a meal... isn't exactly equal to catching one, by me," she said to explain. Checking the rabbit, she added. "We'll have some time to wait yet." Sabra Knight Yakira nodded, "I understand." She watched the rabbit cook, and then stood and walked to the entrance. Shaking her wings small wet droplets of snow fell off onto the ground outside to join the rest that was already covering the ground. Coming back she sat down again and quietly asked Quick, "If I may ask...why are you here in such a dangerous area?" ChibiPoet Taking that as assent, Quick took the rabbit fur and began scarping it and preparing it. She paused when Yakira spoke and then continued without responding for a few more strokes. Without even looking up.
"It is a dream and nothing more," she said softly, her voice just barely carrying to the cave entrance. She continued working. Sabra Knight Yakira looked at Quick with an interested expression but quickly wipped it off of her face. 'Interesting, but I won't press her for a better answer.' She decided still watching Quick work. It was soon that she began to talk softly as if to herself, but loud enough for the silver one to hear, "I'm here following a syrin's instructions and tales. Tales of taurs that I'd never imagine meeting...like you. It caught my interest and I couldn't stand it no longer. I had to learn more about these taurs." She sighed lightly, "So I left home and now it seems that some of my journey is finally starting to begin with meeting you, Quick." Now the harpy laughed quietly, "Is it odd to hear of such a curious harpy like I am?" ChibiPoet "The rabbit is done," Quick said at first, she was to the sewing stage now. Two cylinders with what looked like uneven hemming along the likely bottom were taking shape. She bit off a knot before finally responding to what Yakira had been saying. "You're the first harpie I've met. I couldn't say if you're any more or less curious than any other." She chuckled at that, but cut it off suddenly. She set down the fur and stretched, her knuckles popping from doing work she wasn't quite accustomed to. Sabra Knight Yakira sniffed at the wonderful smell of the cooked rabbit, "It smells good as well." She whispered and then nodded at Quick, "Point taken on that." Standing she approached the fire, "I guess the cook gets to grab the first bit." She smiled, "I'm just fine with a bit of leg or such, can't fly good with a heavy stomach." ChibiPoet Nodding, Quick gingerly picked meat off the hare, blowing her fingers at every chance to keep them from burning. She left both hind legs behind, if Yakira didn't eat both then she'd save the rest for the journey.
Between bites she told Yakira about the fur warmers she'd made. "They're made loose so you can get them over your talons. With some ribbon or string you can wrap them tightly to keep in warmth." Sabra Knight Her eyes opened slightly and she attempted to hide most of her delight at the fur warmers."Sounds great." Yakira picked up one of the back legs, "I'll look at them after I eat some." She blew gingerly at the piece of meat before slowly taking off some meat from the bone and after chewing lightly then swallowed. But she was careful and avoided the small bones. ChibiPoet Quick remained silent while she finished her food. She felt impolite for not continuing some attempt at conversation, but then... she was still fighting with herself over whether or not she should trust the harpie and treat her as an equal. When she finished she casually whiped her hands clean on the bottom edge of her clothes. From the look of them she either didn't do this often or she regularly washed her clothes.
"Well..."
As though that explained it all she got up and set about organizing and packing away the few things she had used over the past hours.
Sabra Knight Finishing putting the rest of the small winter herbs in a small white satchel that she had found just yesterday, Yakira closed the flap of it and tied the strings tight to make sure that her small amount of supplies were definitely secure.
Hearing Quick say well made the harpy look up. "Well..." She repeated and finally asked quickly, "Are you really going to keep going up the mountain?" A short pause, "I mean it's got to be really dangerous for those who can't fly!" A small blush, "Not that there's nothing wrong with being land-bound...but you can't just fly back to the cliff if you ever fall from it..."
Embarressed Yakira worried about what she was saying to Quick. 'Looks like I just made a fool of myself yet again.' ChibiPoet Quick gazed longingly up the mountain. She knew something was there that would change her life forever. Something that until she reached it she would be incomplete. Her head turned quicked to stare at Yakira with perplexed annoyance, holding that look while Yakira backpedled her statement.
"True..." she said slowly, that hint of annoyance clear in her voice, "but I trust my feet to do their job when the wind isn't blowing fit to tumble the sky rather than trust to chance that I can correct my mistakes." A good night's sleep and clearer skies had given Quick more of her confidence, and more of her surity that harpies were not to be fuly trusted.
Sabra Knight Ah, Yakira understood the full annoyance that was in Quick's voice and wondered about whether becoming a mute would save herself from her own tongue? Holding back a sour laugh, the harpy nodded at Quick, "True...I was more worried about a snow storm catching you off guard again. What if there's no cave for you to take shelter in next time?"
Yet her argument was mostly dead now especially since she noticed that look upon the cervitaur's face. "But it seems that you're determined to continue on your journey, so I'll be quiet and try to not say anything more about it." With that said she gave a small smile before lowering her gaze. ChibiPoet Quick felt her face heat up with emberassment. How she disliked being caught in the storm like that... and true, what if it did happen again? "I am determined," she said, her voice less harsh, "And I suppose I will just have to take my chances with the weather." Sabra Knight Yakira smiled over at Quick, "With such a strong attitude about this...I'm sure you'll be successful in your journey." Or so she hoped...but the harpy was felt pretty confident that Quick just might make it to her destination.
Stretching she looked outside to where the sun was actually shining, "It hasn't been this clear for several days." Stepping to the entrance, Yakira closed her eyes and relished in the sunlight. ChibiPoet Quick followed Kira out into the open air and likewise stood in enjoyment of the sunlight and the warmth it left on her face in contrast to the chill on the light breeze and deep in the snow covered ground. She turned her gaze back to the way she'd come... the edge which had only thinned out off to the right. The place she would have died. That reminder gave her pause while she re-evaluated her opinion of the harpie.
"You saved my life," she said bluntly. She didn't look at Yakira while she spoke. "It's not something easily forgotten. If I knew those of my tribe would believe me... I would say you were welcome..." She looked down. Crazy Quick with her slow brain stuck in the sky wasn't likely to convince a tribe that harpies could be trusted. "But I will always carry the knowledge that not all harpies are evil, for what it is worth," she said. Sabra Knight The white harpy nearly jumped in surprise. "Really.....I just helped guide you to the cave is all." She chirped softly her voice filled with embarressment. Had I really helped save her life, last night? Either way she was just glad that they were both safe and sound.
"Thank you...that means a lot to me." Replied Yakira with her eyes closed. Opening them to green slits she smiled, "So are you going to continue on your way soon?" Not that she mind talking to Quick, she rather enjoyed it...but the harpy didn't want to feel like she was distracting the cervitaur and taking up precious moments of this fine weather that could be used safely. ChibiPoet Quick's moment of caring seemed to pass quickly and her voice was distant once again. She felt confused and never liked that feeling, it was time to move onward. She looked to the distant peek across the wide canyon. She'd find a way across it or die trying. "Yes, it is time to go on," she said. She looked back to Kira. "And where will you be off to?" she asked, not certain why she was curious. Sabra Knight Yakira followed Quick's gaze and intently looked to the canyon. That was right...unlike Yakira, Quick couldn't fly. "It looks tough..." She whispered quietly before turning back to face Quick.
"Me?" Her features froze, and Kira wondered whether to tell Quick about some things or not. "Well..." She paused looking somewhat sheepish and regretful, "I've been sent to deliver a message to a centaur. It was a request of a...'friend' I guess I could call him. Even though I don't know if he'd consider me as one." The white harpy grew silent and gave a 'it's a long story' look to Quick. "So I decided to deliver his message for him so he wouldn't worry so much about the centaur." Her mouth curled into a small smile, "It was the best thing I thought I could do for him in the situation." ChibiPoet Quick wondered how the centaur would react, though if this harpie and the centaur had a mutual friend, well... "Good luck," she said, the harpie might need it. "And fair... winds," she added. 'Trails' might not apply to a harpie so she slightly modified the usual parting words of her tribe. And when they had both finished with good byes, Quick set her feet to the path and continued her journey.
