The alpha laughed outright at Stryder, a cruel, long, loud, laugh. Finally he moved closer with a grin. "You think I wouldn't kill you, and take her anyway? Or do you imagine that she could run away while you die?" He smirked and shook his head.
"Take her and go...and Stryder...don't set paw on my lands again unless it's to request to join." He turned swiftly back into the dark forest he claimed as his own.
Venda let out a ragged sigh of relief as she heard the larger male leave, she had been afraid. She hadn't seen how matched the males were, who could have hurt who, but the alpha had sounded most confident. She took a hesitant step towards Stryder and gently touched her nose to his shoulder.
"Are you alright?" She asked with a relieved smile crossing her muzzle. "I owe you more then thanks..."

Stryder bowed his head low to the ground, in response to Chernabog's orders and comments... and even in gratitude. "I won't..."
Stryder nudged Venda slightly, not taking much note of her thanks and own nudge, shaking a bit "Let's go... quickly. Before he or any of his pack decide otherwise." Stryder made sure to check the scents in the air, to move away... far from Chernabog's Reign of Terror lands.
Finding fresh water, Stryder moved to drink from it. There were no distinguishing scent marks here, especially not the Reign of Terror's. He could have easily died today, and Venda might have been wounded while trying to get away. He looked up and said, "Drink Venda. It's been tiring." He flicked his tail, and nudged her with his head to assure her he was fine. "Was no problem. I would not let Chernabog do that."

Venda smiled and drank deeply from the freshwater source grateful for the cool fresh taste to wash away the fear. She sat on the pond bank and tried to move her head in Stryder's direction.
"I'm grateful to call you a friend." She also made note to avoid the RoT lands like the plague.
"I suppose you're used to the solitary life, but I hope our paths cross again Stryder. I wish I knew what you looked like, but your scent will tell me who you are." She slowly stood and tipped her muzzle in a silent farewell.
"Until then my friend, we are most lucky, and unlucky in our own ways." She gave a wry smile before walking off around the pond her steps quick and shuffled as she made her way.
