{I was cracking up! Cow slippers, awesome! ^.^}

Six mugs sat impatiently atop the lobby desk next to an equally impatient Cerise. She'd made everyone a cup of both coffee and cocoa, herself included. Apparently she hadn't decided which she wanted, either. Odd girl, Cerise was, and a year of...everything she'd been up to would not change that.

"Are you two coming, or what? There's so much to talk about!" She had a great deal to dish out about ghosts, former occupants, dreams, premonitions, and more. "And, of course, I'd love to hear where you've both been the last year."

Truthfully, though, as was usual in matters regarding her life, Cerise had no intention of sharing her own stories. She simply sat, smiling like a painting.

After a moment of thought, she lifted a mug of hot chocolate and took a sip. Coffee was hardly necessary for a girl already so full of energy.

"Oh, and Liza!" she called cheerfully. I love your slippers! These last words were spoken in her thoughts rather than aloud, sent via mind toward Eliza. An unintentional slip-up on Cerise's part.

The clatter of glass filled the room as Cerise's cup abruptly slipped out of her hand. Her right hand flew to cover up her mouth, a signature sign that she'd made a mistake. She bit her lip in frustration. It was Cerise's firm belief that some talents were best left hidden, and now, for such a simple thing, she'd broken that rule.

Elizabeth blinked a few times and even turned to speak to the man next to her when she decided to keep her silence. Perhaps Cerise had slipped only to her? In all case, it was best to keep a secret even if it wasn't just to be sure. Then again, it worried her... if Cerise was also a telepath, could it be that she could read Eliza's mind?

Suddenly, things looked bleak. Eliza was a rather odd and private person. There was a reason she'd rather listen than talk-- and why she enjoyed working with the dead so much. Corpses never spoke or hardly ever listened. Most of the time, the spirits had moved on. Sometimes, she had to help them out a bit.

Such was the life of a clairvouyant witch. One could say she was a medium of sorts-- if asked, Eliza would simply say she was more of an open channel since a Medium's work wasn't exactly what she wanted out of life even though she had 'the gift' for it. Liza was more of a mystic tan anything else.

Energies.. that's what she could manipulate the best.

Ghosties could be such a pain in the a**.

At last the duo reached the lobby doors and it took a while for them to open, per usual. Upon entering, the elder girl smiled at Cerise, feet wiggling a bit. "They can be obnoxious at times. Or so my roomate says."

Cerise could have cried in relief. Eliza would keep her secret, and that was made life all the more simple. As a display of gratefullness, she sent a mug off coffee toward the woman, letting it stop mid-air without so much as a splash.

"Well, I think they're awesome," Cerise announced with a smile. "And you can tell your roommate I said so, if that's any help at all."

With a wave of her hand, the broken mug pieced itself back together, gathering up bits of cocoa. This returned to Cerise's hands, almost as though someone had hit the 'rewind' button on her life. "Useful talent, too bad I can only lift so much weight," she remarked simply.

"Well, anyway, back to what I was saying. You said you had a roommate, then? Where've you been all this time, Liza?" She set her cup down, bending forward with her hands over her knees. Her fiery eyes were alight with interest.

"I moved to Durem with my best friend and Francis." She said, olive fingertips grasping the mug of coffee from where it floated infront of her. "Got a job with the local church and mortuary. It pays well. Someone's gotta do it." She said, before sipping away at her drink.

"Its not that bad. The dead keep secrets.... most of the time, anyway." A soft smile then caressed her plump tiers, a new piercing glinting in the light. "A couple of highlights here and there, blah blah... You know about the dreams I told you about. Its why I'm here anyway."

What else was there to say? Not much. Her lovelife reeked. Work was alright. Social life in shambles.. it wasn't like it mattered to her anyway. The simpler things were, the better for the witch.

Then again, Life was never that simple. Just when things seemed 'fine', a spiritual awakening occurred-- life was never the same way again. Now she had premonitions, too many life-like dreams, certain callings. She could speak with the dead if she chose to. Sometimes there was no choice.

But her thing was energy. Manipulating energy had been the most easiest of things to accomplish. It was part of the reason why evil ghosties would have a hard time entering her room-- she'd already sealed it. Then she had blessed the pentacle amulet that hung from her neck. And she had a rather ancient Grimmoire to work with too.

All things that Eliza felt should be revealed in due time. There was no rush-- was there?

"What were you going to tell me that was so important last night?"

The strange man smirked at El's reply form his comment. He felt that the girl didn't mind Cerise at all. He might have been wrong, but he assumed he was right. Once inside, he sat down in a chair. He eyed the drinks, and he hated trying to consume something. Not to mention, even if he would be mortal, he'd never touch anything of the sort.

His grey eyes caught a little green bolt of lightning go from Cherry to El. They could not see it, since this was part of his many ways of seeing. No doubt it was a mental exchange, but he could not make out what Cherry said. The message was to short, and to quick for him to try and figure out what it was.

Feeling that the bubbly one felt like she did a mistake, he dismissed it, not showing at all that he noticed anything. He watched with certain awe as Cherry "rewinded" the scene of the broken cup. "My my Cerise, even with all the abilities I have, I must say that I can't do that" The mysterious being stated a little late. "As for the cow slippers" He said, glancing at El. "I think they're rat5her amusing" He finished with a friendly smile.

"I dreamed that I would come back and you, too, Eliza. But I was wondering, what should we do, now? Christmas is coming up, and well, I don't know... Have you heard from anyone else? I mean, anyone who used to live here. I miss them so much!" Earnesty shone in her features as she unconsciously placed a hand over her heart.

Cerise paused a moment. It was so nice to be back, and she hesistated to mention anything foreboding. She sighed deeply. "But, that's not all. My dreams... You know I'm psychic, right?" Her voice grew lower, moving to a whisper, as if she were afraid of speaking the next words. "They're not just dreams, then, but premonitions. The thing is, they're so encoded with riddles that I can't figure out exactly what is to happen. But I sense danger. I don't understand it all. From what I can grasp, something bad is going to happen in the near future. My dreams never lie, Eliza, they're the purest form of visions."

She bent her head, staring at her hands. It was up to Eliza, now, to decide what to make of the words. She was quite unsure of what action should be taken. In a typical nervous gesture, the girl ran a hand down her razored locks, twisting a strand of hair tightly about her fingers.

A male voice alerted her to another presence in the room. "Oh! Why, thank you," Cerise replied, having forgotten about the other man. "It's not really a time trick, you know, I just...brought the pieces back together. I've always had the strangest abilities. But, please, you must tell me your name! I can't remember!"

He listened as the bubbly one talked to El. It seemed to him that he was right, this time, Jekyl de Hyde would be much more amusing than last time. Seems he came late, when all the excitement was gone, but not this time. He was eager to see what tragedies will happen this time around, with him there.

He then focused his attention on Cherry, since she just spoke to him. "Hmmm..." The man thought for a few seconds. "You know, last time I was here, I used a fake name, and I don't remember wich one. Since I don't really feel like lying again, just call me whatever you want" The mysterious being said in a friendly tone.

His name... Oh how that always came to mind when nothing else did. What was he supposed to name himself after? The planet? Or the strongest warrior? He did not know, and for now, he had no name.

"Of course you have a name, silly!" Cerise chirped, glad for the distraction. "And until you think of it, I'll find one for you, don't worry!" She ignored his 'lie' comment. It was her motto to let bygones be bygones. Why dwell on the past, right?

"Well, what kind of name would you like, then? Help me think of one. There's mythology," she held out a hand, intending to count out the sources on her fingers. "Astronomy, French, legends... Oh, there's a million options to choose from! And nicknames are so much fun!" She clapped her hands in delight.

"Moi, je prefere anglais parce que francais est tres... Whoops!" Cerise giggled lightly, covering her mouth for the second time that night. This time, the gesture indicated a lighthearted slip-up rather than a full-fledged mistake. "Sorry, native tongue." When she was excited, she had a tendency to switch to French.

"Anyway, what I meant to say was that I like English nicknames better, you know like Cherry, because French is so boring! Well, to me, I mean. What kind of nickname would you like?"
PostPosted: Fri Dec 24, 2004 9:57 pm

He looked at her with a smile, until she said something in french, then he sort of cringed. He understood what she said, but his ears hated the language. It was like a chorus of bad violin players ringing. Though he wouldn't mention this to Hana, he wouldn't want to offend the girl in any way.

he thought for a moment, trying to see wich nickname would best suit him. I guess he could go for something simple, and that would represent him in a way. "How do you say Forsaken planet, or defiant warrior in any of the languages you know?...Exept french" The strange male added the last part, trying not to sound offensive.

{"Cherry", Neit! ^.^ Hana ish me.}

"Forsaken planet." Cerise replied, smiling. "I only speak two languages: French and English. I take it you don't like French, then? Oh, why? C'est la langue d'amour!"

She casually took a sip of her cocoa, lost in thought. "Well, while I think, why don't you have a drink?" She waved the two remaining mugs toward his position, letting them stop in front of him as they had for Liza. "La planete abandonnee... In case you were wondering, that is," she murmured. "Not a very good nickname."

Cerise turned her attention from the floor to the nameless man for a moment, curiosity apparent in her features. "Well, why 'forsaken planet' anyway? Can't you think of a--I don't know--cheerier name? Like Waffles? My friends had a bunny names Waffles, once."
PostPosted: Fri Dec 24, 2004 10:30 pm

((whoops, I guess I slipped sweatdrop ))

The mysterious man cringed everytime she said a french word. It was truly something that annoyed him, but he wouldn't mention that to Cherry, not directly anyway. The statement she said about french being the language of love almost drove him into an extended debate, but he held himself back.

He almost laughed when she mentioned the bunny named waffles, but instead he just smiled and replied. "I'm thinking of something that would represent me a little better...But if it bothers you, you can call me muffin in another language." The strange man said, closing his eyes.

"Oh, and i understand french" He added lastly, remembering of how that man inside him was oh so annoying.

(( First, I show up to my bro's and his compu is DEAD... then I come home, the guild forums are DEAD... I hop on a car and come up to my sister's in the bay area (I live in So Cal) for the week, check once more, the guilds are dEAD... conspiracy, I tell you. Conspiracy.))

Eliza was a weird one. Perhaps not so much 'weird' as in 'mysteriously unique'. In the past year she'd spent a lot of time getting to know herself. As much as she loved to socialize and get everybody up in high spirit as to make things interesting, she also liked to turn inward when it was time to get things organized spiritually. Sometimes the two aspects of the girl would merge and most people would take her to be rude or even downright spazzy.

One of her co-workers had nicked named her Space Cadet. Now *that* had been rude. After a few moments, Eliza shook her head, loose strands of highlighter purple framing her face gently. Premonitions.. usually dead on the money. Their accuracy were extremely freightening to the point where people forgot Fate was in their own hands. How long had it been since she last had spoken? A while...Cerise and the other man were speaking.

However, it didn't seem to phase her. Upon the first awkward moment long enough for her to but in, she did. "Don't be so negative, Cerise. Premonitions are simple looks into the future if things are left 'as is'. There is always a window of change for the better, no matter how minimal it may be. " It was true. Even if someone was fated to die the next day and there was no way to change that, a person could at the very least make changes in their lives to make their passing that much more pleasant.

In the end, Eliza shrugged, black fingertips tapping on her chin. "And you're right. As much as I'm not a believer of the Christian belief of Christmas, it is a good holiday with many proper moral values. This place is depressing enough-- why don't we invite those who can be reached to come over for the holidays? We can have a wonderful gathering..."

It was then when her eyes shifted over to the male before them, emerald orbs glinting in the light. A soft, mischievous little smile caressed those plump lips of hers whilst she cocked a brow. " I know what the perfect name for you would be. Guess."

{Yay! The guilds are working! And oh my gosh! I live in Southern California, too! It's so awesome here!}

Cerise looked at Eliza, new hope shining in her eyes. "Do you really think so? I mean, I've never believed in fate, but sometimes, when you try to stop something it comes right back in your face! Boom! And you end up starting exactly what you were trying to stop, y'know? Let's just ignore the bad things for now..."

She perked up even more than usual at the prospect of a Christmas party. "Ooo! Could we really, Liza? I mean, have a party? I love parties! And Christmas decorations are sooo pretty! If everyone came back, wouldn't that be the coolest thing ever?" She waved her hands about in signature hand gestures, further emphasizing her point. Perhaps she was a little over-enthusiastic, at least for an athiest, but... "Christmas is the giving holiday! I just love helping people!"

She giggled whole-heartedly, sending her mug flying into the air. Fortunately, she managed to stop it before any real damage could be done, but the act bore testament to her excitement.

"And what name or you going to give Mr. Forsaken Planet Guy Who Hates French..? I bet you can't top Waffles!"
