None of the characters have an even vaguely asian look to them. They all look like Native Americans or Caucasians.

O.o I may not be the greatest judge of people but Zuko most definitely looks asian, as does azula, mai, and the greater majority of the fire nation.
Yeah, quite a few people don't look very asian, but quite the lot of them do.

I am excited over this too smile , but I am scared too because I don't know how well he will find people to play the characters. Because he'll need some great children actors. Like to Aang and Toph especially.
I hope that he doesn't make the characters too old, I think a charm of Avatar is that it's about children. I really would have wanted to see the shots of his live action movie during that interview sad .
I really hope that it doesn't turn into a sort of Harry Potter flick where the children actors grow up too fast for the filming, and I also hope that they find children actors WHICH CAN ACT (unlike the child actors in Harry Potter >.>).

But I really hope it'll resemble the anime smile (I say anime because it's a source of the animation inspiration, and I've always seen it as an English Anime biggrin ). Like the live action of Nana, which was awesome biggrin . But I hope it's not Power Ranger like similar to the live action of Sailor Moon >.> (tried to watch it, but it just makes me think of Power Rangers crying ).

How about like the Chronicles of Narnia?

I'm so excited, like a little school girl Sokka, but equally frightened, like a little Avatar Aang that has to face the firelord. If they mess THIS movie up, just like Harry Potter or Eragon (LOTR was AMAZING, no complaints Peter Jackson!) I will go insane and have to hurt someone (figuratively).

This movie will be hard to make. It'll have to be done almost perfectly, or else it'll completely fall apart. If he messes this up, I'll so pissed off and angry at him.

Luckily, he has two avatar co-writers to help him biggrin

Yeah, quite a few people don't look very asian, but quite the lot of them do.

I always thought Zu-zu looked more Mexican. But you're right, a great majority of the fire nation looks asian.

Water benders look more native american, and Earth benders look like white guys, the foggy swamp benders look more white.

Oh, god. I don't think I'd be able to take a live-action movie with a 12 year old bald kid as a main character (with an arrow on his head, no less) seriously.

Wow...haha, cute picture.

Nonetheless, however, I do agree with how the show portrays it's characters as in, they don't necessarily all look asian. I agree that Zuko looked al ittle mexican, but his sister and her friends totally do not. Aang could may be a white bald kid, though a tan white bald kid. However, their [actors] features have to at least look 90% like the ones in the show.
