Mistpaw looked around at the other cats. It seemed like she was the youngest. She looked up proudly when Cinderpelt introduced her. "It's nice to meet all of you," she mewed. She looked over at Starpelt. "Are you an apprentice too?" she asked curiously.

"Yes I am." Starpelt answered. "At first I trained to be a warrior." She remembered the days she wanted to be a warrior. They seemed like distant memories now.

"Welcome Mistpaw," Larksparrow purred. At least it was nice to know Thunderclan, though they were friendly toward kittypets as warriors, had not tried to elevate one to medicine cat.
"Thankfully, nothing eventful has happened in Shadowclan," she answered Cinderpelt. "We usually expect the occasional fox trying to make an easy meal of our patrols during leafbare when other prey is scarce, but there has not even been a whiff of one so far. Moonstar's kits, now apprentices, have had a few spats that have dragged in various mentors and clanmates, but hopefully the drama will sort itself out."
Wandering so that she was next to Cinderpelt, Larksparrow nodded at the others.
"Lets go."

Starpelt walked excitedly alongside her mentor. The time had come that they would go to the Moonstones. Excitement coursed through her paws and before she knew it she was leading the group of cats.

HeartPool had remained quiet. SHe moved quietly to Frostfurs side. "Im heartPool... I was once a kittypet too... " HEr voice was low ment for only Frostfur. "Dont mind Larksparrow... SHe has forever had a burr stuck between her toes." SHe smiled "Dont worry FrostFur.., StarClan will except you... You seem to be a nice cat... Just dont let Larksparrow ruffle your fur." She nodded her head. keeping pace with the rest of the cats. She was a medicine cat... that she could be proud of...even if larksparrow disagreed... Starclan had excepted her as a kittypet...

Koisplash glanced back as Heartpool went to talk to the medicine cat apprentice in a soft voice. Whatever she was saying, it didn't concern him. Sighing, he followed the group, slowing down occasionally to gaze at the other cats and the surroundings around him.
He wondered if at Moonstones, Starclan would elaborate on the terrifying vision that he was sent recently. Most likely not, but the optimistic thinking stayed stuck in his mind that the possible disaster could be avoided.

Cinderpelt looked around at all the other cats and the new apprentices and nodded approvingly before padding off alongside Larksparrow across the Moor. "Thunderclan's young warriors have run into a few situations themselves. Sunstar and Moonstar even confined two of our apprentices to the nursery as punishment." Cinderpelt laughed, talking comfortably with the Shadowclan Medicine cat, "The poor cats had to watch the nursery empty out as all of our kits had their apprentice ceremonies and moved on." The grey she-cat glanced back once or twice to see how Mistpaw was getting on with the others as they went.

Mistpaw looked up at Starpelt as she walked. "Why did you change your mind?" she asked curiously. It seemed like Frostfur was also older than her, so she must be the only one that wasn't trying to be a warrior first.

"Thank you." Frostfur mewed, a grin on his muzzle. "I'll keep that in mind and make sure to stay out of her way." He felt his heart swell at the acceptance HeartPool was showing, even though it stemmed from the fact that she had been a kittypet once too. He kept pace with the others, though he did move up so that he was walking next to KoiSplash.
"She accepts me." He mewed softly, a note of happiness accenting the words. "Now all I need is a sign from StarClan and I'll be content."

Koisplash glanced from Frostfur to Heartpool, then back again. "Of course she accepts you. Everyone but Larksparrow would. Hopefully even Starclan will too."
He was being over-optimistic, for the sake of Frostfur being his apprentice. He didn't want to lose him, because of his ancestors or otherwise. Maybe kittypets were the best medicine cats anyway.
The group came to Thunderpath, which Koisplash nosed gingerly. He had crossed this before, but the monsters that ran on it still frightened him.
Taking a deep breath, he dashed across the black path in a single mad dash.

Frostfur blinked at Koisplash as he seemed to steel himself for the dash across the road- Thunderpath. He shook his head, reminding himself to think in the terms the other cats would know.
Unlike the cats who hadn't been raised with the no-fur..Two-leggs, he knew how to watch out for the monsters that ran the black path.
Green eyes darted left and right, before he casually made he way across the warm path. He couldn't hear the sound of an approaching car, nor did he see one. He didn't need to waste precious energy getting across it if he didn't have to.
He walked to Koisplashe's side and looked him over, "Perhaps we should teach everyone a new way to watch for the monsters on the Thunderpath?" He mewed softly, "I used to watch them when I was a kittypet and had nothing else to do."

"Creative punishment," Larksparrow laughed, imagining two oversized cats sitting awkwardly among the youngest of the clan, but her positive mood was ruined as the long black stretch of the Thunderpath loomed before them and cut through her thoughts in the same way it divided the forest.
The white cat stalked across the pavement. She flicked her tail as a signal for Starpelt to follow, but a few rabbit hops later and she appear to be wrapped in her own world. Unsheathed claws scraped across the hard surface, making little rasping sounds as she moved, stiff legged, expression set in a hard scowl, altogether creating an unusual air of restraint.
Then it was over. Memories safely crushed beneath her paws, she bounded across the remainder of the path with a calm that rivaled Frostfur's.
Pausing at the edge on the other side, she looked over her shoulder to see how her apprentice was faring.

HeartPool Frowned as a Monster Rumbled past. She hated this part of te journey. Se took a deep Breath. It didnt bother her usually only when she went to th clan did she start worrying about the horrid path. Se reached other side wit nothing but a few messed hairs.

Cinderpelt paused at the edge of the thunderpath, observing keenly how the other cats handled it. It seemed like Koisplash's apprentice wasn't at all intimidated by the dark swath of earth and the monsters that lived on it. Cinderpelt admired him a little for that, a dull throbbing in her hind leg reminding her of how dangerous it could be. Looking down at Mistpaw, the grey medicine cat flicked her tail and meowed after a moment, "Stay close to me, alright Mistpaw? Run when I tell you." The medicine cat straightened and looked around her, ears perked for the rumbling roar of any nearby monsters. When she didn't hear any too close, the she-cat flicked her tail and yowled "Now!" before bounding across the road with her body held low. Once safe in the grasses on the opposite side, she looked anxiously back for Mistpaw, the sound of the monster having grown louder.

Mistpaw watched as the cats began crossing the dark line. She had seen them before, but never this close. She twitched her nose at the foul smell and then Cinderpelt gave the signal to cross. The small cat followed Cinderpelt toward the thunderpath and jumped onto it. Mistpaw gasped in surprise at the hard surface that was so different than the forest floor. The howl of a monster was getting louder, so she raced to where her mentor was waiting on the other side. Just as she jumped off of the path, the monster became visible and was approaching fast from the distance.
