i do like all saxes. bari, tenor, and alto. ive played my alto for two years now and i love it. personally i would have to say that all saxes are good but i like the older ones better. if they are kept in good condition, they have a better sound quality than the new ones.

I'd have to say tenor is the best just because of it's sound... It's so awesome and like has a great range not to mention if you play it right you can sound like a bari or an alto lol. I also love soprano when played right. It's cool but Tenor ftw!

TENOR SAX FTW! :3 switched from flute to sax and never been happier! i hate high pitched stuff so the alto...meh and the baritone sax takes alot of breathe and plays simple notes that can be rather boring.
however! i walked in after school once last year and my old band director was playing a different type of saxaphone than what they offer at my school... a soprano maybe? any way....that was the best sound EVER! god i wanted to throw my flute on the ground and take that saxaphone home to practice! thats why i switched to sax this year...just wish i could play soprano instead. sweatdrop

meh......... well I personally perfer alto but sometimes saprano.......... but mostly alto!!!!!!!!! yay alto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! blaugh

as of right now i play the tenor but i would prefer the alto over the tenor because if you ever get sick with playing anything bigger than the alto you know it sucks cuz theres times you cant get a sound because you have enough breath so if it was me i would play the alto because you can play it all the time even when your sick..you know what i think is weird wind players have the excuse "im sick" because if you cant breath well you cant play but i have a bass player in my class and he used the excuse "im sick" and thats when i laughed my lungs out cuz i was sick and could hardly breath for like 2 months b4 that but i still played and he was sick for 1 day and didnt play at all cuz he couldnt breath i said "dude your dumb cuz i could see if you actually had to blow into the instrument but all you have to do is move your fingers i have been sick and can hardly breath for like 2 months now but i still play" then my band instructor said "oh she got you there cuz that is very true..just because you cant breath doesnt mean you cant play cuz you dont have to take deep breaths and all of that like she does"...but that is the whole reason i would prefer the alto over any saxophone right now..im sick and i can hardly play i cant imagine having a bigger saxophone right now...i would be miserable..

I wish I knew. I wanted to try out tenor in fifth grade, but my parents were like, "Nooo, you're too short to play it." It was mean. :[ I really wanna try out all of them, though, especially Bari. (I play alto right now.)

I think the soprano sax (the one that looks like a baby alto, not the straight one) is adorable! We call it t- rex because of where your arms are when you play it! mrgreen

I like Soprano because of size and shape but I like Bari because it reaches lower ranges.
