I dont think any is the best because they all have thier strengths and weaknesses. I mostly play Tenor because i love playing subtones and they sound great on Tenor. So which three havent you played? is it something not listed in the sax sticky?

I think the bari has more of what I consider to be a signature saxophone "sound" but really, all the different sizes are special in their own way. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

Well, my alto is my baby and the alto is the only type of sax I own soooo... yeah I say alto.
I have played a tenor and a soprano before though, they were fun since it gave me a chance to mix things up a bit.

well, i think that the bari and soprano are tied. imean, i like playing the bari because it's easier and i love the low notes, but the soprano makes this beatuiful sound that is incompairable to any other. it's just that it hurts me to play it.

Sad, no one's said tenor. I like tenor. I don't play it, but I once had a huge crush on a guy that played it. But that's not why I like it. I just like the sound best. Alto and above seem too high...and well, bari seems like a booming foghorn. Tenor is just a nice medium.

He's dreamy. He's also my best friend, but he's stupid. With me, the deeper a note, the better. I play the bari as well, but not as often because I'm fairly tiny and it makes me dizzy.

i prefer the bari sax. i like it because it kind of like the bass guitar of a rock band. the band sounds weird without it. im not disrespecting other saxaphones, they are all good, but teh bari is teh only one that keeps the band together

I'm going with tenor sax, and not just because it's the main one I play, it has a bigger range of high and low notes than the rest and you can basicly use it for any type of music from jazz to rock

I say tenor cuz it's sound isn't too low and it isn't too high, it's just right. I play tenor and alto and my friend plays bari and my band teacher plays soprano so I've heard most of them and I think tenor's the best =]
