Shinji still had his back turned. "Instead of throwing your life away, why don't you get revenge on Shinra for their betrayal?" He could only hope that this worked.

It didn't turn out exact, but his plan worked. Now all he had to do was try to convince the others to spare her. That was probably gonna take more work than before.

"Oh great." Shinji muttered under his breath. (Oh well. plenty of time to change that. For now, I should try to convince the others.) Not being able to leave his post, Shinji sat down and tried to think up a convincing argument.

This broke his concentration. His mind wound up concentrating on that answer instead. "Well... life to me is something that should be protected. It's a right bestowed upon everyone when they're born. They're free to do whatever they want with their lives. No single person has the right to deny anything life. If Shinra continues using their mako reactors, the planet itself will die, taking everyone's lives with it. My motivation in life is protecting the right for others to live."

I thought about his answer protecting everyone's right to live. Then he asked me.
"what do you think your motive is?"
"Truth....."
"What?"
"I want to find the truth in the world whats a lie whats right where to put your faith. Maybe even discover if I can trust myself again."

(So her motivation is to discover the truths of life...) Shinji didn't think much on this. He still had to come up with a good enough reason for her to be spared. Then it hit him. It would be better for her to say it since her words would mean more than his. "If you plan on joining us, you'll have to convince the others to spare you."

Sometimes it's nervewracking because nobody knows when Shinra will show up. We'll probably have to relocate later. Most of the time things aren't so bad." Shinji got up. "The food isn't always the greatest, but it's better than starving."

As luck would have it someone was walking by. Shinji told him to tell the others that the prisoner wished to speak. It wouldn't be long before they arrived.
