Madoc was surprised. He didn't expect to be asked to make a decision so soon; he thought there would be time to think about it, or at least ask more questions. Then again, he would have a chance to think about it if he wanted, since Tigris had said they could call him at any time.
But did Madoc really need any time to think? He did want to help, especially if it would help the True kyn and Otherkyn get back together. He wasn't needed back at his den right now, and he doubted he'd be missed for a while. And he could always come back, right? He figured that he could probably come home fairly soon if he wanted to. I mean, how long could it possibly take to breed?
Madoc watched as other kyns stepped forward to offer their assistance. He wouldn't be alone, either, if he decided to go. There was even another Eastern making the journey. ...Hey, was it a trick of the red dawn light, or did that Eastern kyn have bloody red splashes on him? Eh, whatever, a kyn was a kyn no matter what color their hide. At least, he hoped the red splash-marks were part of the other kyn's hide.
Madoc realized his mind was wandering again, and he looked back at Tigris. Yes, he would help, he decided quickly. Confidently he stepped up to stand by the other kyns who would be going and loudly declaired, "I'm coming, too!"
Now he'd as good as promised his assistance, at least in his mind, and he would not take back his word. There was no use doubting or hesitating now; all that was left was to look forward to the journey.

Eclipse sighed inwardly and watched the other Lunar leave. he held his ground though, kneading the rock under his paw aimlessly, listening as one by one the winged Kyns stepped forward.
Clips' thought went back to his adopted brother Zephyr, who had always looked at Rosemary enviously. Zeph had often told Eclipse sadly about his desire for flight, to be able to feel his fur snapping in the wind, with the air rushing past him. Eclipse had never understood Zephyr, had always preferred the solid ground and the safety it offered.
But he understood now. The freedom to have wings, to be able to fly wherever he wanted, wherever he could. Twisting through the air without a care in the world.
Flying towards a pampered life, where he would be important, where he would no longer have to step in the shadow of Rose.
It wasn't fair!
Eclipse growled, swiping a small pebble away with such force that it flew off to the side and out of his sight. He watched its flight, and calmed himself down, disturbed.
He had never let anger loose before like that. It wasn't like Eclipse, he had always been able to keep his emotions under control, taking everything stoically and looking at things from a logical point of view. He couldn't go, even if the winged Lunars could carry him, he would be of no use there. He was a Lunar, and no flight had been blessed upon him by fate.
His mind traveled back to Rowan's suggestion quite some time ago, that Eclipse or Zephyr breed with Rosemary. The idea of flying pups did sound pleasant to Zephyr and Edoc'sil laughed about the idea for quite some time. Then Zephyr pointed something out.
What happens to the unwinged European, the one who was supposed to be destined for flight but had could not. What about their pain, for it surely must hurt more then Zephyr's.
Finding his mind wandering, Eclipse wondered about the winged Kyns going off to the Island of Death. What shall happen the the ones born without flight, as their brothers and sisters get to soar off the Island, while they themselves are stuck? What shall happen to the current 'TrueKyns', who had to watch their own children fly away to freedom as they themselves are stuck forevermore?
Yes, it wasn't fair for the Lunars, and it wouldn't be fair for the current Truekyns. He remembered what Rowan had once told him: Life isn't fair, deal with it.
Ears and tails dropped, resigned but still not completely happy with the outcome of the howl that had promised him so much, Eclipse picked himself up, took one last look at all the lucky winged kyns and Started the journey down the mountain side and back home.

Rowan paced along the entrance room, back and forth, back and forth, looking outside every once in a while. Zephyr had stayed to guard the egg, but Rosemary was curled up on one side of the save, concern glittering in their eyes.
What had happened to their youngest? Eclipse had not come down when Rosemary came back with breakfast, and his room was empty when they checked. Rowan tried to reach for him but was alarmed to find that he was out of the reach of their magical bond.
She couldn't feel his presence, not at all. And it's been hours since the sun rose.
"I'll go look for him." Rosemary offered as she got up to her feet. Rowan trotted over to her side.
"I'm coming as well."
"I can fly faster without you weighing me down." Rosemary explained as she stretched her wings and Rowan found no rebuttal as she watched Rosemary launch herself into the morning sky.
"Do be careful." Rowan whispered.

Rosemary twisted through the air gracefully, not even bothering to scan the ground. The connection between her and eclipse established as clan members would be much more effective then her eyes.
First she checked the area of open grass at the base of the mountain, then the higher levels of the Ridgeback, past the battle arena until the lack of oxygen forced her to a lower altitude.
She didn't know that she had missed the little blue Lunar, who had slipped into the Den and into his room, blocking off his bond with the others, brooding.
As Rosemary continued her search, she found herself going deeper and deeper into the mountains. Perhaps she would bump into the small group assembled there...

Is this a better color?
But something I don't understand...Now there is another roleplay that is taking place during this event- Is that for those who are unable to go to the Island of Death, or what? Do those non-flying kyns just wander through the territories [journals], posting and telling them?)

Rone had watched the winged kyn step forward and accept, and two other lunars leave with mixed reactions. There wasn't much point of staying, but he continued to linger a while longer. He had withdrawn into the shadows as silently as a shadow itself as the others spoke. He wanted to see the winged ones depart just as proof that he wasn't dreaming up this whole thing in a fevered nightmare.
He paced back and forth in a line of a few feet. He didn't understand this, and it left him with many questions he did not want to ask. Tigris didn't... welcome questions, judging by his reactions to them. He kept his mouth shut, putting his energy into the pacing.
Then he began to comtemplate his jealously of the winged ones. Did a place known as "the island of death" sound all that rewarding to him? It wasn't stirring thoughts of thanks or comfort in the Lunar. Would they truly be sent to the island to live like Tigris claimed? Or were they being sent to certain doom? A thought hit Rone. If they had things like prosthetic limbs, like Tigris's foreclaw, why couldn't they create artificial wings somehow? Or another bizarre contraption they could use to return to this land? Rone was beginning to feel glad that he did not possess wings after all. It was all too deep for someone as simple as Rone.
He put his worries aside. Rone would stay until everyone left, one way or another.

(( Attention to all participants!
My first announcement will to be everyone's disappointment. ^.^; However, as this event has gone far faster than either Ganon or I predicted, we're going to have to pause it. There are certain aspects that are incomplete in the next stage. XP
My next announcement is more of a warning. At this point in time, it is undecided whether or not those leaving the mainland will get a cert change. If we decide that a cert change is needed, then it is non-reversible and non-optional. Please keep this in mind. And, no, it isn't the one that Tigris is on. It will be something background-ly similar to the Cave cert, but with addition information panels.
While I don't want to discourage anyone from going to the Island, I do want to make a few warnings and disclaimers concerning it. You must realize that your character will be outnumbered and overpowered. This is part of the nature of True Kyn and their Voices, to be stronger than mainland Kyn. You must also understand that there is a good chance you will be unable to leave the island. This does not mean that no one will ever be able to, but I want to caution against relying on the fact that you'll be able to leave whenever you want. It's really going to depend on the circumstances. ^.^; This does suggest that you might be placed into situations where your character is more or less controlled by an RP Manager, or that situations are strongly suggested.
You guys are our test group overall for the whole system where you're going. XP So, things that might happen to you may have to be tweaked and edited as we go. We think we've got this down well, but we're not sure. XP So, please bare with us. ^.^ ))

(OOC: All of that sounds fine to me. I haven't RPed Madoc at all before, so RP-wise he's pretty much a blank slate and open for messing around with. biggrin As long as he keeps his bow; he (and I wink ) is rather fond of that.)

[Er... It's actually unlikely that she would be able to breed with other Otherkin after this. Again, there's a very slim chance she could leave the island, but it would depend on a lot of circumstances that you can't rely on being there at any given time. Otherkin would likely be kept from breeding with one another on the island, too, but we'll get more into that when you get to the island.]

(*squirms* Blargh, So unfair for me XP My precious Rose is the only Kyn I can send on this and I've been planning to breed her wings onto a Lunar. Also, you mention something about her not being able to get off?
...
Oh my...

I wish I had another flying Kyn to sacrifice send off as my guinea pig D= Is there a flatsale coming up soon?)
