Satomi's mouth open and closed a few times, the girl appearing a bit speechless. The anger seemed to freeze as her jaw snapped shut. Her posture relaxed, as if in defeat. Pulling her gaze away with a jerk of her head, she moved past him in silence, slipping behind the bar. Her tail kept on twtiching, before finally wrapping around her waist. Her fingers fiddle with a glass and some bottles behind the counter, before she finally poured herself something that would burn going down.
Downing it in seconds, she snapped the glass against the bar, before dropping her head to her hands. The anger seemed to seep from her body then, replaced by distress and defeat. She stayed like that for a few moments, merely glancing up as Ren reaches out to place her hand on her head.
Her gaze shifted over to Keno, hurt apparent in her eyes then.
"Keno..."
A heavy sigh left her lips, before she got up and moved around the bar. She moved up to him, standing less then a foot away. For a moment she did nothing, before she pulled her arm back and punched him right in the chest, growl escaping her lips.
"Don't you dare leave me out, ever again. So what if I worry?! Of course I'm going to! I care about you, and it's unfair to leave me as one of the only ones in the dark!"
Her right fist found her hip again, as her left index finger jabbed into his chest with every other word.
"And damn straight I'm getting involved! I can stand on my own two feet. And I'm not going to be supid, and risk my daughter losing her mother."

Ren's eyes narrowed in a calculating way as the man sat on the stool. She remained silent as he intorduced himself, eyes simply flickering over his form. After a moment, she seemed to decide that she should be polite. Or else maybe her mother's wrath would turn to her, and her mother was rather scary sometimes.
"Ren Lee Se'Naeli Wesley."
She turned her attention to her glass of chocolate milk that had been forgotten for the moment, taking another slow sip, eyes flickering back to her mother for a moment.

He could feel her disappointment seep into his heart like a poison when she said his name. As though it weren't apparent enough on her face, the fact that she said it was like a thousand white metal rods trying to brand him. It hurt more than he wanted to admit, but before the burn would cool, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. Yes he recovered quickly enough, but just like the time he appeared on the news, the fact that his sister actually struck at him to begin with was punishment enough.
Yet on the outside he looked completely unphased, though grief stricken as he was. It was his own fault for telling her something she definitely didn't need to hear at that point. He'd have to try not to let his body and mind work independently so much any more.
"I didn't choose for you to be one of the few left out. That was Fate's job and I have no control over that. You think Jade is better off for knowing because she's my sister? Or Deity because he's her boyfriend? Or Tali because he rules some planet far from Earth? Or Unks or Epithany or any other random stranger in this damn club?" He caught himself at that point, trying to remember his point. It evaded him though and he cursed his luck for his sporadic thoughts.
"You can't get involved thinking you'll walk away. They already gave their warning shot. They left without a scratch on them, having thrown the Jedi off the edge of building, pierced Jade straight through from the back, knocked me out before you could press the button on a stop watch, and stood step for step with Deity without busting a sweat. And that was just four of them.
"So what do you offer as piece of mind to me, because I don't need another liability on my shoulders right now." He knew he was being cold, but if he could convince Syn, then he would damn sure try. She was the only one with a family; both a spouse AND a child. A little girl not even old enough fro grade school. It would not settle well with him should she pass away because of him.
"I leave everyone to their own ordeals these days. Why can't the leave me to mine..."

::Unks continued to listen to the conversation. As the names of those involved with the situation and the scars they took from the first battle he clenched his fist tightly. He then realized that little Ren was still next to him and she spoke softly.
His eyes moved to her once more and he continued to smile at her. He then looked at her drink and lift his right hand to make himself a glass of chocolate milk::
"Well it is nice to meet you Ren, and you seem to have a good choice in a drink so I'll follow your lead and have a glass of it myself."

Satomi sighed, and dropped her hand, before crossing her arms over her chest. Pressing her lips together, she hung her head for a few moments, disappearing into her own little world of thoughts. Midnight strands fell to shade her face, but Keno would most likely be able to see her eyes closed in thought, and teeth working on her lip.
"It was more or less the fact that you didn't tell me. That I had to find out by some other means. The fact that you had no plans on it." Satomi finally looked up, anger finally having faded completely to simply worry. "I understand that you're worried. But it's unfair to leave me out like that."
The fact that they had stood against all the others so easily disturbed her greatly. She didn't want to have to isolate herself or her daughter from Orion, or earth. The place was growing on the child, and she often requested to go.
"You could have even just asked me not to get involved. I mean... I'm stubborn, but I have Ren now. As much as I love you as my brother, and would die for you... Ren is first."
Her lips twtiched up in a bit of a smile, arms unwinding from being crossed to relax at her side. "Chances are Tali would chain me down to the bed before letting me get involved."

So that was it. A miscalculation on his part, though the question burned in his head: why did it matter? To him it made so much sense not to burden their minds with concern and frustration and to just live as if nothing was wrong. It would keep his mind more focused on what he may have to do in the end.
Maybe that was it though...he didn't want to think about it, so he wouldn't, but all of a sudden he was sure he understood where Satomi was coming from. He hated being wrong, or even slightly misguided so he kept from even recognizing it.
"I understand Ren comes first for you. It wouldn't make a lot of sense otherwise, but you hesitated to say that. That brief pause is exactly what bothers me. You can't prioritize who you're willing to die for in the middle of a fight. Your enemy isn't gonna let you walk away because your daughter is more important than I am. I don't need or want anyone half assing this on my account and I especially don't want any blood but my own wasted."
He understood her point, but it agreed too much with his own. "Anyway, I'm sorry that I left you out like that. There are just...whatever don't worry about it.
"Besides I can think of better reasons for Tali to chain you to a bed and I'd rather..." Ren's still there Keno. Shut the hell up. Coughing he ended that topic and merely resumed his calm as he stood up and approached Sato for a hug.
"Everything will be fine."

Ren simply blinked at the man, Unks as he introduced himself, without response. She finished off the last of her own chocolate milk. Holding out to the side, she let her fingers uncurl, the glass dropping a few milimeteres before stopping. It made it's own way over to the sink, lowering slowly into the sink.
The girl barely paid any attention to it, watching the man for a moment in silence before turning her attention to her mother and her uncle Keno. Sighing slightly, she glanced back at the man, reaching into his mind. Mother is sorry for ignoring you. She is attending other matters.
For some reason, the little girl was more comfortable with mind-to-mind, the out loud. At the moment, also, she did not wish to say anything out loud in regards to her mother.

"I don't half a** things." Satomi pouted at the claim. "I would simply not risk myself, like I would have once."
The rest she simply listened to, waving it off. Not in a carefree manner, but that of one where the listener simply found it obvious what the other was saying. All that Keno said had already gone through her mind.
However, Satomi flushed deeply at the claim about the bed, the girl looking away and shuffling her feet. She muttered something about that guess being a little close to home, before slapping her hand over her mouth and flushing deeper.
As Keno moved in, her arms went up to hug her brother, sighing in defeat.
"I know it was out of concern, but don't leave me out in the future, al'right? I'm not the rash girl I was when I first came here."

::Unks heard her words in his mind and smiled looking at her before he replyed back to her. His eyes looked between her mother and Keno and smiled and then nodded::
"It is ok, I am sure everything will be fine, and I can wait till they are done talking."

"Duly noted," he replied lovingly, acknowledging Syn's statements, and ignoring the one about the bed room. He honestly hoped after this he'd have no more dealings with...whoever was behind 97. In fact it would be valuable to him to figure out who was running the show and deal with them once and for all like he thought he did some fifteen years ago.
"I would appreciate any support you can give me, but I can't, nor do I expect you to come to my side every time I suffer a few serious wounds. I'll keep you updated as best I can though, how about that? Sir Aaron is still allowed on Orion isn't he?" The better question would have been 'Can anything stop him form getting to you' but that was just as well too. Either way he wasn't expecting an answer, which would be noted by his off handed departure, which began with a kiss on the forehead, a sign of blessing and brotherly affection. It continued with a similar notion on Ren's forehead, though she probably would hate him for it later, and ended with him walking through the doors so nonchalantly, one would have thought he knew he would die that very night and had yet refused to day a word.
In the night he was free, but the air was just as heavy no matter where he went these days. Few things brought him joy, and one of the things that made him happier than a kid at Disney World wasn't too happy with him today. Still though, she did come all the way from Orion just because of him. He'd have preferred a different agenda, but beggars couldn't be choosers. Acknowledging this he took to the clouds, with only an inkling of despair and a very light heart illustrated by the smile on his face.

The dinging bell of the elevator doors sliding open preempted the appearance of the mage. Hovering a few inches from her palm she carried a translucent water like sphere watching something blindly as she stepped into the main room. Half mumbling to herself she laughed.
"Astounding...not even a scratch. Potent energy disrupting capability. I should be able to deflect most energy blasts as well as physical attacks with ease...Hmmm the draw back is that it does not protect tissue that is already damaged. Incredible none the less..."
Blinking up at the small group formed near the bar area she smiled dispelling the surveillance sphere.
"Oh hello everyone, how are you all this evening?"
