Forgoing his usual flashy entrances the Sage simply pushed through the Orion's heavy doors. Gazing about the empty room nothing particularly felt out order. Yet a heavy tenseness was thick in the air. Stroking his chin through his many scarves he shrugged continuing further into the area. Spying the rather languid form of his student at the bar he spoke with no true direction.

"This place looks like its been through a war..."

In the past saying such things usually seemed to have foreboding circumstances associated with them. Quite possibly events such as those had occurred. The exterior to the building would agree.

"Hmmph...I suppose I'm not talking out of my a** for once."

Making his way over to the bar he sat atop a stool resting his head on the counter in mocking manner. Speaking loudly in a whispery voice he glanced her way

"Why are we so tired? The wounds inflicted here do not seem to inherently be inflicted on you?"

"I'm not wounded, just a bit sore," she said, trying to be subtle, but honest. "And I'm tired because I've been driving too long without rest. All I need to rest my eyes and rebuild my focus and I'll be fine. Nothing a quick break won't cure."

Lifting her head, her ruby eyes lacked the general flare of alertness she usually had, being a bit dimmer. Nonetheless they had the same vague expression as always, like she really didn't care about anything or had little interest in anything. Her mind was actually kind of clouded and without thinking, she pulled out her bottle of medicine, popped off the cap which clattered against the bar top and tossed two pills into her mouth, no water this time to wash them down.

"So tell me how you've been. Where you've been, what you've been up to."

Raising his head he nodded at her response.

"I have been residing in Antarctica. Devoid of light, devoid of warmth, more importantly...devoid of people. A wonderful vacation spot for the active misanthrope. Other than the cold I think you would like it. I go there to train and clear my head. The world brings with it a lot of things to muddle the mind."

Glancing at the counter top a strangely solemn expression coming about his face.

"Sadly I am not a true misanthrope and I find myself always returning to the mainland. I will not bore you with anymore details as I know such things are not to your liking."

Outstretching his palm on the counter top a black flame arose from it, producing a flask. Breaking its seal, he loosened his scarves and took a pull from the bottle.

"I see you have associating with your senpai. Good to see. There is much you can learn from one another. "

Staring into space he was once more silent.

"Trying to avoid people is a bit excessive. It's enough for me to just ignore them." Placing the bottle back into her pocket, her tail flicked at the thought of society. She had nothing against them, but rather just wanted nothing to do with them.

"What do you think senpai and I can teach other?" She would never address Epithany as senpai to her face because she wanted people to view her as an equal. However since she only had one, referring to the other mage as such before their mentor seemed to be little trouble or bother.

"I will not deny that we may be able to help one another, and I'll admit she once said something similar, so what exactly are you getting at?"
PostPosted: Tue May 15, 2007 5:37 pm

Without missing a beat to her question he began rattling off an answer.

" I have noticed that both of you have opposing fundamental weaknesses. In Epithany, she is fundamentally one of the most powerful individuals I have met. Her technique is quite precise and well executed. Sadly she lacks drive to use it. Skill is useless if left unfocused.

You on the other hand are quite possibly one of the most driven individuals I have met. Your forthrightness is something that drives people towards you. Sadly your skills are unrefined. You deem your power as merely a tool. It should be a part of you. It should be like the air you breath.

Crossing his arms over his chest.

"If I could take the different aspects..."

Frowning he shook his head.

"Sorry I prattle on like a fool."

He took another pull from his flask an intense expression in his eyes as he fell back into his thoughts.

"Is that so?" She placed her head back over her arms, which had folded atop the counter of their own accord. Her head faced her tutor nonetheless, maintaining focus and attention on him. For a moment her eyes were hazy with thought, as though her mind were on rewind for no real reason.

"She never struck me as the unmotivated sort. It seems she's always trying to improve herself, although I must admit, the few times I've crossed her, she presents a more scholarly presence than a combative one. I simply figured she was more adept with books and spells than physical prowess." It was too much to continue at the moment. She had said enough. Maybe too much.

"As for myself...I've no real rebuttal. I've no defined style with my body nor my mind. Maybe when I do things will change." She stated the last sentence with an indifferent sigh. It wasn't that she did not care, but rather that she did not want to dwell on it too much.

Grinning he set down his flask.

"You both make do with what you deem more comfortable. In most cases that path will not lead you astray, but you will always feel as though you are lacking something. That nagging will haunt you. Sadly your life spans have no definite expiration date. Thats a lot of uncertainty to build upon."

Drinking more from his bottle he lingered on the liquid passing down his gullet.

"The road less traveled is many times the most difficult, but you never know what you might find."

"I may have time to travel many of those roads, but I also am likely to have much more time to decide to before I do. Compared to most people that is." Taking a deep breath she considered her options. Yeah, maybe she should try something new. At least one new thing among the array of several of options just to spice things up.

"Sometimes they're less traveled because they don't leave anywhere. Staring at the front end, how would you know which is which without roadsigns?"
