Sebastian shot Apollo a quick glance at his remark, just ‘mm’ing in response. He wasn’t quite familiar with incense in that regard; sure, the Channellers in the Pokemon Tower made a lot of use of it when they’d come and cause a fuss , but he had always attributed the increase in ghosts primarily to their presence and not the incense itself. Maybe there was something to look into whenever he decided to go back home for a visit.
Sebastian did offer a bit of a smile, chuckling lightly at the mock disbelief. "Well, it’s good to see you’re honest." He joked, an eyebrow raising just a bit at the mention of bribery. This wasn’t a very good bribe if that were the case; if Sebastian hadn’t known better, he might’ve felt bad once more for pretty much taking pokemon from the young man for free. Of course the sight of Apollo glancing at the pokemon counter reminded him of what else had happened, and so the pang of guilt occurred all the same. He certainly hoped Beau was alright.
Of course that didn’t last long, as the Squirtle he’d acquired accidentally released from her ball and gave Apollo a healthy stream of water to the face. Sebastian jumped a bit in surprise at the excitement, eyes growing wide slightly as he raised a hand over his mouth. He knew pokemon could be rowdy, but that was certainly the last thing he expected to witness. He wasn’t really sure what to do to help, watching as the Squirtle eventually stopped her torrent of water, snatching up some stone that had rolled free from Apollo’s fallen bag. He had to look hard a moment to recognize that it was a mega stone, another surprise. Sebastian returned his gaze to Apollo, frowning at the sight. "Are you alright?" He questioned, concerned by the questionable display of cheeriness he was now displaying. That was hardly something that one just … accepted. Playful or not, launching water attacks into a person’s face was rather rude, and could be dangerous.
He knelt down to confront the Squirtle, a frown on his face as he held a hand out towards the little turtle. "Hey now, give that back. It’s not yours." He commanded. The Squirtle just seemed to stare at him, shirking away more and giving an expression that suggested that Sebastian would get the same treatment that she’d given Apollo if he tried to take the stone. A moment of staring and he sighed, getting back to his feet and rubbing the back of his neck.
"I’m sorry. " He remarked. If the long winded speech of that old man had taught him anything, it was that mega stones were valuable and only worked with certain pokemon. He’d hate to take the stone, especially if the Squirtle couldn’t use it. The long haired man wasn’t quite buying all of Apollo’s chipper attitude as he was robbed and assaulted in the course of a few minutes. This was really not looking to be his day. After a moment of thought, Sebastian fished out a pen and paper, writing down his number and handing it over to Apollo. "Here." He remarked, shoving the pen away while eyeing the Squirtle a moment. "I really can’t accept the stone… so if she ever lets it go, I’ll let you know okay? So you can have it back." It was the east he could think to do; who knew how long it would take, if ever, but it was the best option. Apollo probably had things himself to do; waiting around for a crazy pokemon to drop a mega stone was probably not on the top of his list. "It’s the least I can do." Sebastian smiled a bit, retrieving the dropped pokeball as well as the other one as well. He was getting quite the team, now that he thought about it…

"Oh yeah, I'm fine." Apollo waved one hand dismissively while the other lifted the hem of his shirt to help dry his face. His face might've stung a bit, and his sight a bit bleary from the water dripping from his eyelashes, but overall the now-dripping-wet man was in relatively good condition; he'd just need to remember to change his shirt afterwards, as the material, now damp, clung to his skin rather uncomfortably. He dried his face thoroughly, and although his sight was obscured, he could hear Sebastian try to take his newly acquired Squirtle's 'treasure' from her, with little luck he imagined.
Apollo dropped his shirt back down, blinked, and then looked in Sebastian's direction when he offered an apology, coming up empty-handed in his retrieval. "It's fine, not your fault," he pointed out, then glanced in the direction of Squirtle, mega stone securely in her grip. On some level, there was a bit of loss in having something as rare as a mega stone stolen from him, by a pokemon he'd caught no less. But, unless he knew exactly what pokemon the stone benefitted it was nothing more than a colorful paperweight, Apollo couldn't find it in himself to become all that upset.
He regarded the braided male curiously when a piece of paper was handed to him, confusion in his expression only to dissipate when he saw the series of numbers scrawled across. Apollo took the paper, free hand crossing over the other to turn on his communicator so that he could begin inserting Sebastian's number. He laughed softly halfway through the process, his attention turning from the screen of his electronic to his companion when he spoke about the, low, possibility of Squirtle ever giving up her new mega stone. "I think Grumpig have a better chance of flying first," he teased, resuming the number-inputting. "But, thank you."
Pursing his lips, Apollo once more looked to Squirtle, his expression thoughtful. What was it that he'd heard? That a new evolution form had been discovered for Kanto starters? Well... that included the ornery turtle before him, didn't it? He was pretty sure it did. "Hey," he started slowly, eyes still on Squirtle. "On the off-chance the stone turns out to be compatible with Squirtle, consider that yours to keep. I don't see myself catching anymore in the near future, so that stone would only take up space."

Sebastian’s expression turned to a gentle smile as Apollo to the paper from him and started putting his number into his device. He chuckled a little at the expression, swiping a stray strand of hair out of his own face as he nodded a bit, eyes directing back to the Squirtle still clutching her ill gained prized possession. "Really?" Sebastian raised a hand, tapping under his chin in thought. Did Squirtle get a mega evolution? He didn’t really know; it was sort of a new discovery for him after all. But if that was the case, it would’ve explained her behavior and obsession. Sebastian had the mind to once more deny the offer but after a moment of thought, it occurred to him that Apollo probably wouldn’t have it. He’d been fairly adamant up until this point so…
"Alright… thank you. I owe you big then." He remarked, offering a grateful smile. He watched the Squirtle a moment longer before eyeing her pokeball. He felt a buzz from the confines of his bag; a call? Text? He wasn’t sure. Now that he thought about it, he hadn’t met with Henry yet to deliver his father’s tools. That was probably something to finish up, as much as Sebastian would’ve liked to stay around to make sure that at least Beau was alright. Plus, Jay was probably still waiting on him. Damn, there was just too much to do.
"Thank you again, Apollo. I appreciate it." He remarked, storing the pokeballs away with his others. He gave the man a little bow, still smiling a bit. "I should probably get going though… I’m sure you’ve things to do too. Please give my apologies to Beau I uh… I hope no hard feelings." He remarked, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand, offering the other out to give a handshake goodbye. It was about time he got back to business after all; he still had to train up Rummy for the contests and start planning what to do with all the new pokemon he was acquiring. Maybe it was about time to start up a new team… maybe for the other gyms he still had to take on.

"Yup," Apollo confirmed Sebastian's surprised exclamation with a nod of the head, rather surprised that the male didn't know of Squirtle's mega evolution himself. Ah well. At least now he was educated about it, and now had something to look forward to in the future-- that is, if the mega stone did prove to be compatible with Squirtle. He chuckled softly then turned to his PC, logging out of if before he could forget. "I expect the next offering you make in my name to be a bountiful one," he teased, body turned sideways so that he could face the screen and Sebastian.
When the other made mention of departing Apollo looked down at his communicator, surprised to see the time that flashed back at him in electric green. Huh, some time had certainly passed since he'd made that initial introduction, much less than he'd thought, sure, but time always did seem to go a little faster when you were worried about the wellbeing of your pokemon and being robbed by a turtle. "Beau's a sensible guy-- pokemon, I can't imagine he'd be one to hold a grudge, not against you at least," he reasoned. "But, I'll pass on the message. I'm sure he'll appreciate it."
With a slight grin Apollo took the hand offered to him in a handshake before he pressed a quick kiss to the back of Sebastian's hand, his grip loosening in the next second. "Feel free to call, I'll text you in a few minutes so that you have my number, if you need me. Believe it or not, I have more usefulness than just pokemon trading and brightening your day with my presence."

Sebastian chuckled in response to the offering comment. Well, he would certainly keep that in mind if he ever found himself in a situation where he needed some sun light in his life. He waited a moment, head bobbing a bit as Apollo reassured him that Beau would probably, maybe, possibly forgive him. Or at least not hold a grudge against him, which was really all the man could ask for. There was a lot that this brought to mind; he needed to find a way to deal with all these growing personality issues amongst some of his pokemon. There was only so long that he could ignore it after all.
"Well good, I’d appreciate that, thank you." Sebastian replied back. If anything, it’d ease his conscious in the long run. He was still waiting for his handshake to be returned, mind already drifting off to his next course of action once he’d finished up here as well as wondering who was either texting or calling him. Which was really the only reason why Apollo’s following action seemed to catch him off guard just a bit. He blinked and snapped back to attention, an eyebrow immediately quirking upwards as a bit of a surprised expression crossed his face. He gave a bit of an odd smile, chuckling quietly as he took his hand back. Despite the surprise he didn’t seem all that bothered by the action. Of course, Sebastian had encountered numerous people of numerous types with numerous customs of their own. Whatever he was really thinking about it though wasn’t completely evident.
"Well thank you, I’d appreciate that." He smirked a bit, eyebrow raising a bit in response."Oh really? You really are a man of many talents?" With a smile, he gave a final little wave good-bye. "You’ll have to provide me a list of your services some time then. Take care, Apollo and thanks again." With that he stepped back, glancing at the Squirtle and ushering her along to follow as he returned to retrieve his other pokemon and delivery. He’d need to head back out the train station to hopefully find Henry –the man had to be there by now- to drop those darn tools off and then get about his journey once more. He grabbed the case in hand once more, ushering his team to follow along before giving Apollo another wave before heading outside on course. Gin and Pichu followed after, eyeing Squirtle who had taken a moment to glance back at Apollo and give him one final spray of water to the face before scuttling after her apparently new trainer. Quality good-byes all around.

It didn’t take all that long for Sebastian to move from the pokemon center to the train station in Goldenrod City. His gaze shifted around the slightly crowded station, watching bodies come and go before deciding that none looked familiar. Had he missed Henry? He wasn’t sure. It was probably a good idea to check his Pokegear; if the man was around, he’d have sent him a message.
"You guys watch the case okay?" He remarked in particular to Gin and Pichu, the pair already settling themselves on the bench next to the case on the bench. His newly acquired Squirtle was standing off a bit, still clutching her ill-gotten gain of a stone, watching her new trainer and his pokemon with a sort of quizzical look. Whether she’d formed an opinion of the man yet was hard to tell but Sebastian would have none of her supposed attitude. "And behave." He directed the remark primarily at her as he dug his PokeGear free from his bag, the little turtle’s head just tilting a bit as though she were giving him a cocky look.
Sebastian turned his attention to his device. There were quite a few messages to read in fact. The first he looked over was from Henry. It’d been sent about twenty minutes ago, to inform Sebastian that he’d probably be off the train in thirty. Lucky for him, he hadn’t missed him yet. So now it was just time to wait. Sebastian quickly reaffirmed the message, letting his father’s colleague know that he’d be waiting. The next message that flashed onto his screen was a bit surprising. It was from Ajicka; it’d been a while since he’d heard from her. Hopefully her final battle had gone well? She was inquiring about Blackjack; a smile busted a bit across his face at the thought. She’d probably be surprised to hear how he was doing so far. He thought a moment before swiftly typing out a response to the young woman.
Message to Ajicka:
Hey there! How are you doing? You beat that gym? He’s doing great; he evolved into a Houndoom and then found a way to mega evolve. He looks amazing.
That was that. He couldn’t help but be proud that he could report such a thing back to her; he’d been nothing but grateful to her for providing him the pokemon in the first place, so it was all the better that he could tell her that Blackjack had grown stronger than probably expected. Plus, the whole mega evolution thing was cool.
Once that message was sent, he went to the others, these from Jay which was a relief. He had just disappeared without so much as saying goodbye, but from the tone of the messages it wasn’t much of a problem. Crystal was getting antsy which wasn’t quite surprising, though he did frown as the new message from Mimey mentioned Koda not feeling well. Well that was certainly disturbing, he’d hoped the little leopard was alright.
Message to Jay:
Hey there Mimey. I’m sorry to hear that on both terms. I hope Koda’s going to be okay, has Jay tried taking him to the Pokemon center for a check-up? I should be heading back soon; I’m really sorry for the wait but I’ve almost finished my errand. I’ll catch a flight soon here. Don’t you all go too far, alright?
He considered the message a moment and satisfied, sent it to his companion. He was a little concerned for Koda and this whole ghost situation –which he still hadn’t remembered or found evidence of himself- but that would just have to wait. For now, with messages written and sent, he took a seat, waiting patiently for the next train to roll in so that he could finish the task at hand.

It wasn’t long before the next train rolled in and Henry arrived to greet Sebastian. The man had the same old gruff appearance the young man knew, which meant either he’d just grown his beard out, or trimmed it. It was hard to tell either way.
"Hey Henry! It’s good to see you again." Sebastian smiled and waved, watching the man give him a nod in greeting. ”Good to see your still kicking, Seb. How’s the adventure going? Enjoying yourself for once?” The man inquired. Sebastian offered back a bit of a smile, the recent events returning to mind and momentarily dampening his mood. "It’s been going really well. I’ve got quite a few badges and pokemon." He tilted his head a bit. "How’s my family? The business? Everything alright at the tower?" Henry scoffed, wrist flickering back in a half wave. ”Everything’s fine there. Nolan says hello and he’s getting better at digging holes. Your mother says call more and your father… well.” Henry paused, eyeing Sebastian a moment. ”Well… he was wondering if you still had that hair. Apparently you do. Suppose I’m winning that bet.” Sebastian quirked an eyebrow, giving Henry a bit of a funny look. What in the world kind of bet was that? He was happy to hear though that his family was getting along well enough without him and that things were about the same. He’d have to remember to contact them after this. He’d been pretty bad about keeping up on that.

Which is good; the old stuff was starting to make work a mess.” Henry paused a moment in thought. ”Oh by the way, I have a gift for ya. From him.” The older man set the case down, reaching to a bag at his side and much to Sebastian’s surprise, produced a small incubator with a pinkish egg inside. Henry offered it out to him, the long haired man taking it curiously and looking it over.
"A … pokemon egg?" Sebastian asked in surprise, gaze shifting from the egg to Henry who was nodding. ”Yes. Someone left it at the tower or some nonsense..,” Disappointedly, the man gave a solemn shake of his head, evoking a frown from Sebastian as well. ”Your old man found it and told me to give it to you though. Said it reminded him of you. Plus, you’d probably have the time to hatch it.” Once again, Sebastian found himself giving his father’s associate a funny look. He wasn’t exactly sure how the egg made his father think of him… was it the pink? Pink shirt association? Sebastian had no clue. What a strange man.
"Ah… well alright. Thank you, I’ll take good care of it." Sebastian remarked, still holding the incubator and the egg gingerly. He’d never taken care of an egg before. Pokemon were one things, eggs were another. He’d have to look up if there was anything special he needed to do to help the pokemon inside eventually hatch. Henry just nodded, retrieving the tools again and waving once more to Sebastian. ”I’m sure you will. Take care Seb, keep in touch and don’t get eaten by a Snorlax.” The man remarked, missing the violent shudder that seemed to overtake the long-haired man at his remark. Sebastian forced a smile though as he freed up a hand and waved goodbye to Henry’s retreating figure. "See you, Henry. Tell everyone I miss them." He called, noting the wave and nod that was returned in response. Great! His ultimate task was complete.
"Alright guys. Time to find a flight back to Lilycove so we can meet back up with Jay." He remarked, turning to face the trip of pokemon out. Gin and Pichu both chirped, though became temporarily became occupied staring at the strange egg parcel the man was now holding. Squirtle just quirked an eye at his, stone still in hand before she gave a little nod of her own. Unlike the other two, she didn’t seem all that impressed by the egg; actually something else seemed to be on her mind. But Sebastian would have to figure that out later; for now, he needed to plan a way back…

A bit of map studying and Sebastian came to discover that his best bet to get back to Hoenn – and Lilycove in particular- was probably to take the train. He’d be taking the original path he’d discovered that would’ve quickly led him to Cianwood in the first place; though this time it would be less troublesome as he wouldn’t need to stop to get badges along the way. He could head to North Lumiose, down to Coumarine and then take a boat back to Lilycove. Assuming he didn’t’ find any other modes of transportation along the way.
With that plan in mind, he went to the ticket booth and bought himself a ticket for the next train. He returned his pokemon while he waited; Gin and Pichu were looking tired by this point and could probably use the rest and Squirtle… well she seemed preoccupied with her own thoughts and didn’t seem interested in getting to know her new trainer at the moment. Which was fine, there would be plenty of time for everyone to get to know everyone. Taking a moment to swap his team around a bit, Sebastian finally settled in by himself with only the newly acquired egg to keep him company. As he waited he wondered curiously what it might contain and why it’d been left behind. People… people really had the wrong idea about what occurred at the Tower. It was a little depressing to think that someone would abandon something like an egg there of all places.
There wasn’t much to think about though; as he faded into his thoughts the announcement sounded for the train to North Lumiose. Sebastian snapped to attention and with a bit of a yawn he grabbed up his things and boarded the train. He could use a nap...

✦ ✦Aiden’s sky blue gaze stayed with Natalia for a few moments longer, still unconvinced of her reasoning behind the sudden bout of fear that had come over her momentarily. Tempting as it was to ask about what was actually bothering her, he decided to just leave it be for now, figuring it would be better for the both of them to not impose himself further on the matter. He was becoming more acquainted with how easy it was for her to lie, but at the same time he could understand that she had her own reasons. Lying was a necessary evil, they often would say, and Aiden would not brave those dark, fathomless depths, not yet at least… His mother had always told him there was a time and a place for everything, as far as Natalia’s troubles were concerned they would cross that bridge when they got there, whenever that may be. Sudden laughter shook Aiden out of his thoughts, an expression of surprise and confusion overtaking his face when he realized that Natalia was laughing. However, when she explained her reasoning for it, they happily took it to heart. There was no denying that they were more than prepared in the event of an attack by wild Hypno, between Aiden and Natalia they had more than enough to defend themselves. The burst of confidence even helped to ease Thalia’s fears a bit, though the Sylveon remained close to Natalia for the sake of comfort and security. The Fairy-type was certain that they would be more than a match for a few wild Psychic-types if they tried to tangle with them, but she was still not very fond of being in dark, creepy places… The events that had happened back at Raphiel’s mansion further reinforced that fact. But as long as they stuck together, like Aiden said, they would be safe and sound, right? Aiden gave a soft smile as Natalia agreed to his statement that they needed to stick together, though a look of concern crossed his eyes when he noticed the ever-so-slight wavering of her smile. Although their merry band was marching ahead with a renewed determination, it was clear that something was still bothering her. The blonde offered a reassuring smile in return, returning his gaze to the path ahead just as the thicket gave way to a great clearing, filled with lush, green grass and berry trees heavily laden with their bounties. But what caught everyone’s eyes right away was the colossal tree seated in the very center of the clearing, its pale bark almost glistening in the bare sunlight filtering through the canopy. Its branches, crowned with thick, dark leaves, spread towards the sky, seemingly grasping at the sun beyond like a crowd of outstretched hands. Judging from the sheer size of the behemoth tree, it was clear that it had established its home in this forest long before humans had settled on the island, and had grown larger and stronger over centuries, millennia, perhaps even eons… Aiden remembered the first time his mother and father had brought him to see the wishing tree, recalled the sense of sheer awe, shock, and wonder that had overwhelmed him when he had seen it up close and personal. Even now, many years later, the sight of the wishing tree never ceased to amaze him. Hell, he could swear that it had gotten bigger since the last time he visited it, and many more slips of paper now adorned its myriad of branches as more people, natives and tourists alike, had left their wishes with it. Aiden smiled warmly as he gazed at the tree, hearing Natalia remark that it was beautiful, the amazement in her voice clear and bright as a sunny day. ” It truly is, isn’t it?” he responded with a light chuckle, a thoughtful expression drifting across his face, ” It feels strange, coming back here after years and years and seeing just how much its changed over that span of time… It’s almost… unreal, you know?” Aria stood by, taking in the sight of the tree in its entirety and admiring the colorful slips of paper that adorned the branches, hundreds upon thousands of wishes that had been left by visitors year after year.” Yes, it is quite beautiful… Very awe-inspiring, especially considering how many people have left their wishes here from times long since passed…”she mused thoughtfully, slowly approaching the tree and gingerly running her fingers along the smooth, pale bark. She felt much calmer here, a sense of peace reigned in the air around here that seemed to contrast greatly with its surroundings. Thalia’s pale blue eyes were wide with awe and wonder as she gazed upwards towards the higher branches, noting how easily the wishing tree dwarfed its smaller brethren that surrounded the outer perimeter of the clearing. The sheer size of it was both amazing and intimidating, the Sylveon realizing how small and insignificant she felt next to the behemoth. She wondered if there were even more wishing slips up in the higher branches, out of sight from their position on the ground, or if it was even possible to even climb up that high to place the slips. Aiden turned his attention over towards Natalia once again as she stepped towards the small stone plinth that resided below the tree, housing the decorative slips of colorful paper and writing utensils for visitors to write down their wishes. He moved to stand alongside her, catching her question about if it was possible to make more than one wish slip. ” You must have a lot to wish for, huh?” he asked softly, chuckling lightly and offering a warm smile, ” Can’t say I’d blame you, sometimes a single wish just isn’t enough. I’ll admit I have quite a bit to wish for as well…” He hummed contemplatively as he regarded the stone stand, then gave a slow nod. ” But to answer your question, I believe that there isn’t necessarily a rule concerning how many wish slips you can make,” he added, pursing his lips, ” So as far as that goes, you can pretty much make as many as you’d like. Just don’t get too greedy~” He gave a light laugh as he finished, politely waiting for Natalia to pick out her wish slips and writing tool before taking a few for himself. ’ After all, we can’t expect every wish we make to come true…’ he thought to himself, grimacing inwardly at how pessimistic that statement sounded. As much as he hated the thought of it, there was some degree of truth in it as well… For now, though, he shoved the thought into the far recesses of his mind as he focused, his fingers playing along the pencil he held in one hand as the other gripped the small slips of colored paper. There was so much he wanted to wish for… for his parents’ safety, for Natalia’s safety, for the safety of Gio and October, for Zero and Isis wherever they may be, for his departed teams’ spirits, for everyone’s Pokemon, for a brighter future… Even if it wasn’t possible for each and every one of them to come true, he would continue to hold out hope that everything would be okay in the end, for everyone’s sake as well as his own… Thalia watched curiously as the trainers took their slips from the stand and began recording their wishes, pale blue eyes following the movements of their writing hands as they jotted down each word. She couldn’t help but wonder… could Pokemon make wishes as well? If so, what would she want to wish for? Arriving back in Goldenrod city Yukie made a straight line to the location pokemon center. If he was going to be taking Falkner on again he needed better pokemon then what he'd came equipped with the last time. The Rotom he'd captured knew a powerful electric move so it was a clear pick. He opted to bring Galvantula as a back up but without the ability to control it that was going to be a difficult battle Litwick was a clear top pick, as well Ekans, Meowth and Koffing. Each one had skills he could use to dismantle the gym leaders flying types advantage. Yukies tag along nurse wasn't to please with his return having been filled in on the details of his last visit the the city. "Are you sure about this ma'am? You dont want to challange a different gym leader?" She inquired concerned not just in Yukie's safety but her own. If she was caught working with him and arrested as a result that along could be reason enough for the king to behead her. "Yeah. Im not going back to the Heonn until iv beaten him." Goldenrod was the biggest city in the region and the pokemon centered showed how crowded the it really was. There was barely a chair to site in peace and think that wasn't taken or crowded around. He was lucky enough though that the gyms training arena wasn't in use currently so he took that spot as his "quite place" to think. The tag along nurse remained by his side quietly typing something up on an Poke'Pad. The battle area was sort of small considering how big gym arena's got. This was suppose to give trainers a recreation of a gym setting but it did a poor job of it to Yukie.
Sitting on the floor legs cross in what would be the gym leaders box Yukie began to plot his revenge. Falkner had caused him a great deal of suffering. It was high time Falkner payed his dues. It wasn't to long though the nurse joy's Chansey would come to him with his pokeballs. As the pokemon departed a trainer, male and in his mid teens, stepped into the training arena. "So you gonna sit there or you gonna battle ?" He asked pulling out a pokeball. Yukie took a moment to process that he was asking. "Screw off your not worth my time." Yukie remarked sarcastically making a shewing motion with his hand. Ok that did it. Time to teach this smart mouthed p***k a lesson. The first round might have taken a while but in the end the trainers pokemon was simply no match. Round to hopefully would provide a slightly larger challenge. No reason not to aggravate his opponent though. "I though you wanted to battle not dance?" The comment didn't seem to phase the male to much. "No clefairy!" He called out tossing his second pokemon out into the arena floor. "Go Meowth." Yukie hadn't used this pokemon to much. this would be a good chance to test her out in a real battle.

Natalia felt some relief when Aiden didn't press her for the truth behind the fear that had suddenly gripped her upon seeing the dark forest on the other side of Bond Bridge. Truth be told, they were all a little scared, albeit for different reasons. It should have been an easy lie to make though, talking about the eeriness of the forest or maybe hearing a hypno, but no, she had to make some lame excuse about seeing something that turned out to be a bush. Natalia was mentally kicking herself for that one. Jet was right, she was losing her touch, and that was really aggravating for her. The fear that she felt at first quickly vanished however when she suppressed the bad memories, and continued walking alongside her friend and his pokemon, though she felt an odd sense of glee in the spooky situation. To say that Natalia got thrills from being in dangerous situations would have been a convenient cover up lie. The giddiness she felt from the fear of others was a different psychological animal all on its own, one that was a lot darker than she would have liked to admit. She hated it, but it was there all the same, threatening to make her laugh at such an inappropriate time. Her friends were scared and unnerved, and here she was laughing because of it. What was wrong with her? Sure, it was easy to cover up, suggesting that she simply wanted to lighten the mood or cheer them up, but it was a horrible, bold faced lie. Even if Aiden accepted it and was soon laughing along with her, Natalia felt disgusted with herself, and that voice in the back of her head only took advantage of it. They were almost to the tree, if she could just try to keep this up a little longer, perhaps it would prove to be enough of a distraction from the eerie woods.
Thankfully, between soothing Thalia and lighter, positive conversation with Aiden and Aria, Natalia was able to make it to the wishing tree in the center of the forest, and it drastically helped change the mood as the group marveled at the beauty before them. Aiden in particular, since he hadn't seen the tree in years. It was different for him, since for the rest of the group, this was the first time seeing the tree, but for Aiden, he was able to see the change over time. “Yeah... It must be really nostalgic for you huh?” She smiled. At least it was a good nostalgia here, as opposed to that trip through his home. Natalia on the other hand doubted that anything nostalgic for her would be pleasant, in fact, she wanted to forget she even had a past. Natalia pushed the grim thoughts aside and nodded in agreement as Aria suggested that the number of wishes on the tree was awe inspiring. “Heh, yeah. How many wishes are hanging on that tree do you think? A thousand?” She offered, placing her bets. She had a lot of questions regarding the rules to the wishes too, naturally questioning and testing the boundaries. It was one habit she just couldn't shake. If there were rules, she wanted to know where they bent. She asked what happened if you read a wish before it was put on the tree, and how many wishes one was allowed to make. The first inquiry was dismissed, Aiden figuring that it was possible she wouldn't be cursed but it was best not to test that one. Natalia wasn't afraid to jinx herself due to the unlucky streak she already seemed to have, but for Aiden's sake and sanity, she wouldn't make him worry for her. The next question was a lot less dangerous, and made Aiden think, though not after teasing her a bit, suggesting that she must've had a lot to wish for. Not that he could blame her. Natalia chuckled and nodded at Aiden's explanation. “Haha~ Yeah, I'm not trying to be greedy. I just have a lot of people that I want to wish for....” A small sad smile played on her lips for a moment as she stared abysmally at the empty slips of paper. No, there was no point in making wishes for herself. Even if Arceus and Jirachi had pity on her and granted a selfish wish, it would just be a waste in the end.
Natalia set Thalia down so that she could grab herself some slips of paper and a pen, and afterwards she scooted away from Aiden, giving him room to grab his tools and write on the stone slab that was provided. Natalia had to recount all the people she would wish for. She made a wish for her mother's spirit, as well as Aiden, his family, and departed pokemon. She made a wish for her pokemon as well, hoping that she could find them good homes and help them with their wishes. She made a wish for Isis, and Gio, and October, all of her friends, old and new, hoping they were doing well. As she wrote though, she noticed a pink feeler poke at one of the empty slips of paper, and a soft familiar voice calling out in her head, asking to make a wish. Natalia chuckled, reaching a hand over to stroke Thalia's fur. “You want to make a wish too?” Natalia asked the sylveon with a gentle smile. How adorable~ Well, Natalia couldn't say no to that earnest expression. “Alright, what do you want to wish for? Tell me and I'll write it down.” Natalia encouraged, patting her lap so that Thalia could come sit with her so they could make the wish together. After writing everything down, Natalia had one last slip of paper, the only one she hesitated to write on. She knew what she wanted to write on it, but at the same time, she also didn't want to write anything at all. This was stupid. She wasn't going to make that wish. It was selfish and cruel and it would interfere with her plans. And yet.... Some part of her still wished for it. She glanced sidelong at Aiden as he was wrapping up on his wish writing as well, and then looked back at the sky blue slip of paper in front of her, feeling frozen. ..What harm could it really do though? It wasn't like it would ever come true. Not really. Aiden might fall in love with Fey Marquee or Natalia Jones, but not Vesper, not all of her. If he ever found out the entirety of who she was, he would hate her, or if nothing else, he wouldn't have feelings for her. There was no question about that... And yet... Natalia couldn't convince herself not to bring her pen down on the slip of paper and write the words. She scribbled the wish down quickly and folded the slip of paper up. It wasn't like Aiden was going to try and read, given the rules, but she still felt embarrassed. What was she, a schoolgirl making a confession slip? Arceus, she wanted to slam her face into a pillow and scream, but instead she stood, gathering up her wish slips and waiting for Aiden to finish so that they could start hanging them up. There were a few poles propped up against the trunk of the tree to help hang the slips up on the high branches. Natalia grabbed one, handing it to Aiden before grabbing herself the other one and attempting to hang her slips up.
Natalia struggled a bit, having a hard time getting the hang of hooking the slips of paper onto the tree. Carmine seemed rather unimpressed by her trainer's dexterity, or rather, lack thereof. Natalia held back from shooting the froakie a glare and bit her tongue so that she didn't snap at the monochrome frog in her frustration, but honestly, Carmine was so quick to judge. Natalia would have liked to see her try and do it. Thankfully Calliope, who had been circling above the forest, noticed her trainer's struggle and flew down to help, carrying each slip up for her and hanging them on empty branches, having an easier time reaching the treetop where there were fewer slips hanging. After all the wishes were hung, she floated back down to Natalia, who smiled and pet her appreciatively. “Thanks Calli, you're a big help.” She nodded, glancing to Aiden as he finished up. "This was a lot of fun.... Thank you." She smiled, knowing it was a bit out of the blue. "Sorry, um... I just know it must have been hard for you, so... I really appreciate you accompanying me in spite of that. You didn't have to, but you did." She smiled brightly. "It's getting late though, maybe we should grab our pokemon from the daycare and head back to Goldenrod..." She frowned, glancing up at the treetops. The daylight had begun to fade and turn a golden orange color. Before too long it would be dark, and... Well, Natalia knew that wouldn't help the already eerie atmosphere of the forest in heading back.

✦ ✦Once the group entered the great clearing where the wishing tree stood, the ominous atmosphere of the forest seemed to simply evaporate as they all gazed up in awe at the natural wonder that stood before them. For Aiden, however, he felt nostalgia overtake him like a rushing wave, his mind playing back memories like a movie in his head. He remembered the first time he had come to see this very tree, how he had marveled at the sheer size of it, how he had childishly wondered if he would be able to see all of the Sevii Isles if he were to somehow scale it until he got to the highest reaches of the tree’s canopy… He must have been at least five years old when his parents had first taken him to this place, and he must have been at least fourteen years old when he last visited the wishing tree while visiting with his family during his Pokemon journey. Arceus, had it really been that long? Coming back to this very clearing after years and years of absence, it almost felt like he had stepped into a whole other world altogether… He could see how much the tree had grown since then, and how many more wishes had been left by natives and visitors over that span of time. The thoughtful expression on the blonde’s face was broken by a warm smile as Natalia commented that it must be really nostalgic for him. ” Yeah… I must have been at least fourteen when I last came here,” he said, a light chuckle playing at his lips, ” Almost hard to believe it’s been four years since then…” Four years… Everything had felt so much simpler four years ago… His parents were still living out their lives in harmony and tending the Daycare, all while he was out and about exploring Kanto and Johto with his old companions by his side… To think how peaceful those times had been, all before he was thrust unceremoniously into the tumult of chaos that had all but consumed his life from then on. Team Void’s arrival on the island had only been the catalyst, the capture of his friends and family and the fate of his former companions had further accelerated that volatile reaction, had nearly pushed him over the edge past the point of no return… Aiden’s desires to continue surviving, to live long enough to be able to see his parents again was what had kept him from plunging into those fathomless depths. Any normal person would have well breached the thin veneer that separated the realms of sanity and insanity long ago, but the boy might very well be walking that very fine line by now. Aria’s separation from him at the Halloween Ball had driven him to near panic, had filled him with a fear that he had felt only once before in his life… pure, raw, unadulterated fear… But he shouldn’t dwell on such dark, grim thoughts, this was meant to be a place of serenity and calm. He shook his head, banishing the shadows back to their inky abyss and clinging to the good memories as if he was a drowning man trying to stay afloat. He chuckled softly as Natalia bet with Aria on how many wishes they believed were up in the tree, the Delphox’s eyes glistening playfully at the statement.” I’m willing to bet there are at least a million, considering that this tree must be at least eons older than us~”she chimed in, humming contemplatively as she felt each and every crevice and niche within the tree’s bark. She wished she could somehow delve into the history of this tree, surely it had a rich, deep collection of lore to share about how it had come to settle here, what the islands were like before the arrival of the humans, and how their civilization had evolved over centuries and millennia. Aiden turned his gaze away from the tree to Natalia when she inquired about making more than one wish slip, more than happy to oblige with an answer after taking a moment or two to think his response over. Of course, he couldn’t help but tease her a little by commenting that she must have a lot to wish for, but it was understandable. After all, he had a lot he wanted to wish for as well, and sometimes just a single wish just wasn’t enough. He gave a soft smile as she chuckled and agreed to his explanation, saying that she wasn’t trying to be greedy and that she just had a lot of people she wanted to wish for. ” Of course, I understand completely,” he responded in kind, his smile wavering when he caught the look on her face as she stared down at the papers in her hand. Once Natalia had gathered her materials, Aiden took a few slips of paper and a pencil for himself, the two of them getting a bit of distance to write down their wishes. The blonde decided right away that he would forego making any wishes for himself, he had made more than enough of those when he had previously visited the tree. Besides, he had already accepted the fact that he was a doomed man from the get go, he wouldn’t dare make such selfish wishes when he knew that there were others that needed this much more than he ever would… His eyes grew cloudy at the thought, hating how hopeless it sounded, yet unable to help how true it was. It must be one hell of a cruel joke on behalf of the universe itself, but he knew that ranting and raving about how unfair this situation in its entirety was would only be a waste of breath, a waste of words… Words that he would use to ensure the safety and happiness of everyone else, it would be a worthy sacrifice in the end, right? Clutching the pen tightly in his fingers, Aiden wrote out his wishes. He wished for his family’s safety and security, for Natalia, Gio, October, every friend he had ever made, both old and new, for the spirits of his departed companions, and for his current Pokemon as well. If worse came to worse, and he would end up leaving this mortal coil one way or another… he wished that they could find good homes, loving families that would cherish and care for them long after he was gone. The biggest wish that he wanted to make, however, one that he wrote down in great, bold letters, was for a bright future for everyone. Even if it was likely he wouldn’t live to see it, it was something he felt that everyone deserved to have, a beacon to guide them onwards even when all hope was long lost. As he was coming to his final slip of paper, a thought crossed Aiden’s mind as he glanced up towards Aria. ” Would you like to make a wish too, Aria?” he asked, wondering if she had something she desired to wish for as well. The Delphox, however, made no move from her position at the tree’s base, only giving a warm smile.” I would love to, but… To tell you the truth, I don’t actually have any kind of wish,”she answered modestly, shaking her head,” Even if I did have one… I believe that it’s already come true. After all, I have you, Natalia, Gio, October, Mimi, Ario, Kiru, River… As far as I’m concerned, this is all of the happiness I could ever wish to have~”Aiden couldn’t help but smile at the sentiment, feeling glad that the Delphox had found happiness in the small family that she had come to be a part of. A dysfunctional family, of course, but a family nonetheless in her eyes. Thalia stood by Natalia, curiously eyeing the quick, fluid motions of the pen as they scribed words on the small, brightly colored slips of paper. She wondered, absently, if it was possible for Pokemon to make wishes as well, what she would even want to wish for if that was indeed true… The Sylveon didn’t really have a lot that she would want to wish for, at least not as much as Natalia and Aiden, but it would at least be worth it to try, right? She knew that she shouldn’t let hesitation control her life, after all, in the end everyone would regret what they didn’t do rather than what they did. Letting her curiosity guide her, she inquisitively poked at one of the empty slips with a feeler, asking Natalia as best as she could if she could make a wish as well. The Fairy-type smiled softly as the familiar touch of the girl’s hand warmed her soft fur, the slight hesitation washing away at the gentle expression on her face. Thalia’s eyes brightened with childish delight at Natalia’s agreement, the Sylveon eagerly accepting the invitation to sit next to her as she padded over with a bit of bounce in her step. Seating herself next to the girl, the Fairy-type’s elated expression melted away into a thoughtful look as her pale blue eyes scrutinized the blank sheet.” W-Wish for…”she murmured softly, her ears twitching slightly with her concentration,” W-Wish for… hope… h-hope for F-Fey… Aiden… f-friends…”She was trying her absolute damnedest to articulate her thoughts into what she wanted to say, though she couldn’t help but trip over her words a little. Thalia truly wanted everything to get better for everyone, especially for Natalia and Aiden… There was only so much that she could provide her assistance with, she couldn’t help them mend their old wounds or solve each and every problem they came across. She was only a Sylveon, and she had her limits on what she could and couldn’t do after all. She hated that feeling of powerlessness in those moments where she wished she could do something to remedy the situation, but couldn’t or didn’t know how to… It was a slim chance, but surely there was some kind of higher power that could do much more than she ever could. ” H-Help Fey… A-Aiden… best I c-can…”she went on, shaking her head a bit sadly,” B-But… c-can’t help a-always… I… s-still try… N-needed…”Thalia always enjoyed Natalia’s company, not only because of their close friendship, but also because the girl made her feel like she was needed. The Sylveon had never felt anything like it before, not until that chance encounter with Aiden and Natalia back in Cherrygrove that one day. She had spent much of her life wandering, moving from place to place and keeping herself alive along the way, with no real goals in mind. She had no kind of purpose, nor did she know if she even had one, she could have very well kept walking the world aimlessly if she hadn’t come across them in the first place. But the Sylveon had sensed that the girl was deeply troubled, that there was much more to her anger than what was visible on the surface, and it was something that she felt couldn’t just be brushed off… Despite her initial hesitation after being captured, Thalia had decided from then on that she would stand by Natalia’s side, for as long as she was needed. Aiden’s sky blue eyes stared intently at the final slip of paper in his hand, already having a feeling of what he wanted to write on it, but uncertainty kept his hand from writing it down right away. A part of him wanted to make that wish, however… He had told himself that he wouldn’t make any selfish wishes, but… he was starting to have second thoughts. He knew that it was possible that the feeling may or may not be mutual, and he hoped that she would be able to forgive him if the latter turned out to be true… It would be a risky move he would be making, one that could possibly bring more harm than good as much as it could do otherwise. But it was a chance he was willing to take, he couldn’t spend the rest of what short life he might have left regretting every single thing that he didn’t do when he had the opportunity. Taking a breath, he scribed the final wish onto the slip, folding it carefully before glancing over towards Natalia to see that she had finished as well. Offering a small smile, Aiden stood, walking to the poles that were propped against the tree’s trunk to aid in hanging the slips, the branches were too high up to reach without them. The blonde nodded and said a polite ‘thank you’ to Natalia as she handed him one of the poles, propping it up against a certain spot before climbing his way up to hang the wish slips on the branches. Having done this many times before in the past, Aiden used his carefully practiced expertise to hang his wish slips, though Aria helped out as well by using telekinesis to place them higher up where there weren’t as many slips. Out of the corner of his eye, the blonde noticed that Natalia seemed to be having a bit of difficulty with hanging her slips. Of course, it was her first time, which was understandable as Aiden remembered having his own share of troubles his first time around too. Thankfully, Calliope was happy to lend a helping hand, carrying Natalia’s slips up to the higher branches with ease. The blonde nodded, already feeling nerves in his stomach as he saw the blazing sunset skies above. Yukie wanted to cup check him for that alone. The girl reached for one of the three red and white orbs at her belt as she chewed a piece of gum. She only had the three pokemon? This was child's play. Tossing the ball up and down in one hand as she sized her opponent up. Yukie remained as he had before. His calm attitude a clear indicator he didn't consider her any more of a challenge then he had the male she was replacing. "So your a big shot huh b***h. Lets see you beat me." She said tossing her pokemon into the arena. It was a odd little floating rock looking pokemon. It was easy to assume it was in fact a rock type. Yukie scowled, he didn't own any water or grass type but he knew he'd still win. "You two are think, Come on out Koffing." Yukie said calling upon the floating gas bomb once more. Yukie preferred to keep with a certain type of battle strategy. Poison being key to that strategy and Koffing where masters at poison gasses. He wouldn't get as powerful an effect as he would with Litwick's Toxic but Litwick was part fire so if this pokemon was rock and knew any rock of ground type moves the battle would be over for him. Litwick wasn't able to use her Toxic fire-spin combo on something that would over whelm her like a rock or water type. "Koffing Smog!" Yukie called out with the girl responded in kind. "rock Sharpen!"

The battle after the first match up was totally one sided. Yukies dies that was. Yukie knew the girl wasn't a challenge just by how she held herself. The boy didn't help her cause either. they both seemed to act as a tandem pair so it was easy to assume the girl regularly beat the boy in battle and thus was stronger but she didn't give off an air of over whelming strength compared to him so her victory's where from either luck or skill not really a difference in actual power. "Fine, i submit. You win." The girl said recalling her pokemon ashamed leaving her male counterpart to look on amazed. "Apologize." Yukie said not really caring he'd won either match. "Take back the c**t comment." Yukie was singling out the boy looking about as menacing as an angry Gyarados.
