Braced and tensed from the confrontation, Belladonna was only mildly startled when her shoulder was grabbed. When she was hastily and roughly thrown aside, she had been unprepared for that enough that she lost her footing. And when the monster overhead graced the combatants below it with a nice view of the inside of its mouth, well, she didn't even bother being surprised. Instead she only let herself find the safety of the ground as she took an unplanned seat and did her best to raise her arms up in the weakest attempt at protection against the oncoming attack. Her own shrill cry echoed in her ears as the prickling light washed over her and when it abated, one hand flew to her chest, as though she could help draw more air into her lungs. Immediately she began to look for a wound, but there was none, only a gaping feeling right at the bottom of her ribcage. Belladonna took a few more deep breaths, trying to figure out exactly what was going on but a familiar hum distracted her. "Mort! Stop it!!" The witch shouted out, clumsy in her attempts to stand. That odd feeling persisted, made it difficult to right herself for a moment or two. A hasty glance was thrown to Ofie and Clover, hoping they could help stop the zombie's rampage in some manner, but something looked wrong on Ofelia's face, like she had been crushed with just a few well placed words. Torn on what to do, Belladonna finally decided that Ofie had Clover and that the witch had Mort. So might as well try to stop him.
It was possibly far stupider to chase after him, to grab at the back of his coat in attempt to pull him away, but Belladonna was nothing if not willful. "Please, stop this. He's not your enemy, not now." She pleaded in a voice mixed with stubborn anger. The witch cast an angry glance at the Hunter, and jerked her head in a motion that meant it would be in his best interests to move along, find another place to be. This little creature could not stop the much taller and stronger zombie no matter how she pulled or what she said, but Belladonna would be damned if she didn't give it a rather good try.

Otto shivered, staring up at Melvin with icy blue eyes. Cranky as always, he sneered a bit but let the older trainee try. While the worksmanship was shotty, it did... well lets be honest. It was crap work. he felt like someone dabbed a gaping wound with a cuetip and said 'all done!'.
Roch's voice screamed through the noise, so loud that it was almost louder than the rest of the world. He wasn't even aware of screaming. The pain that hit him was agonizing, ripping him apart, burning through his body--he would have wished he could just dissipate already, if he could have thought at all.
He fell to his knees, panting heavily, sweat pouring down his face. He'd been hit that hard before, as far as his shield was concerned, but his body was disagreeing with that fact.

Kicking at the creature, she huffed and backed off, only to find Sparrow. "Y-yeah, I'm okay." Aside from her fear healing being a total failure once again, she was a picture of health!

If anything Yin just looked slightly smug when Alexander thanked him. The voices seemed to condone his behavior, the possessiveness that the Insanity tainted him with approving of the action. It had worked, and none too soon. The beast roared, flames shooting out of its mouth...
He thought that he could hear something more than just a simple roar, but the attack, the flames (if that was what they were) did not harm him. That...bothered him. If the "attack" did not do damage...what if his defense of the zomboil was useless after all?

Nodding in response, Clyde went back to focusing on attacking the beast before them.
Maybe he was starting to get the hang of attacking this thing, or maybe he's just picking on attacking a lot quicker then expected. After all, he has yet to stop trying to attack the enemies thrown at him.

Harrison hadn't gotten off so lightly.
The scream of pain all but froze him in his tracks, eyes wide, still holding onto the other hunter's arm. "A..ace." His words went unheard.
He'd seen too many things he never wished he had to. So many illusions, nightmares, but it never got any easier, he never managed to teach himself how to act when he could be useful, all he could do was look on in absolute terror and dread.
He tried to hold on, tried to hold him back from hurting himself too much but dread, bottomless terrifying dread sapped his strength. It was like the ******** pyramid head again, like that doll b***h, all he could do was hope with everything he had that whatever it was that seemed to hurt so much would relent. He wanted to scream at the creature to let him go, wanted to do so many things. But terror made him weak.
As Harrison slumped to the ground he sunk to his knees, frantic, his voice shaky and uncertain. "Ace. ACE. ********. Are you okay?" He wasn't a medic, he didn't know what to do about blood, all he could do was try to help him up enough to sit, try to assess how serious it was - to be ready if it happened again to restrain him.
Jordan's voice reached him and he looked over, wide eyed, the anger in his voice directed squarely at his own uselessness.
"I don't know man, I don't ******** know." It sounded aggressive, it was Rep's way of pleading for help.

Wilson stopped and his body stiffened when the creature tilted its head down. His eyes widened. He took a cautious step back. Wait—
He flinched only slightly soon as he saw the fire, but as it coated the entire battlefield he didn’t feel anything. At least, not physically. The hunter shifted awkwardly in place as something inside his thoughts stirred restlessly.
