Hey everyone. I have one question to ask all of you?

Is it worth your Wii points?

A youtuber who refers to himself as therealAgerbon takes the time to look at games that are both on and not on the VC and let's you know if he thinks these games are worth your Wii points.

Here is his 40th episode.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=8_ympezbG8E

He's one of my youtube friends, so I felt he needed some support from a group that cares about their Wii points.

Hey T, you might want to get an interview going or something so this thread doesn't die. After all, you did ask Fish to allow you to revive this topic.

As I play Brawl's classic mode to get the rest of those char trophies (I no good as Ganondorf xp ), I bring to you another interview in a segment I call, "Is this VC-worthy?" Where I ask our friends which game they feel is worthy of going on the Virtual Console!

Now we open with our very first guest, Regulust, formerly named Regulustheheroic, and FinalRegulus before that!

"So, Super Mario RPG, eh? not a bad choice! Tell me, why do you feel that title is VC-worthy?"

Regulust
Well the game is very fun and i haven't been able to find a copy of it anywhere.

"The older games ARE getting more and more harder to find. Somtimes ROMs are the best way to go for the really obscure! That's how I had to play it."

"So, how about the replay value? What would you say is the best part, hmm?

Regulust
I like trying to defeat that one FF styled boss...i can't remember his name though. He was hard as ******** though.

"Ah, you mean Culex! Yes he was said to have been strong! I've never fought him meself. And the FF touch... that's SquareEnix for ya!"

"Seeing as it's an RPG, what do you think of the battle style?"

Regulust
The battle style is pretty good it blends the Mario universe and an RPG together very well.

"I see! This was Mario's first jump into an RPG, and it worked over quite nicely!

Lastly, which of the characters really spoke to you in this game? In short, who's your fav?

Regulust
Which character you ask? That's an easy question. ******** Geno. That puppet is so cool. To bad he didn't get on brawl. >>

Yes, that is a shame. Square has him, yet they are doing absolutely nothing with the poor guy... sad

Hoo... but I digress...

Well, thank you for your feedback!

Not bad T, not bad at all. It's almost like reviewing a game through questions. Not a bad idea at all.

Time for another new segment! (Got me Ganondorf trophy, now for Meta Fish Knight! mrgreen ) This is called "Behind the Controller"

Cause after all, aren't we all humans behind the controller? This takes a look into some of our daily lives.

Today our first guest is Yin Yun Yang, everyone's favorite aspiring world conqueror!

"Like the rest of us you play videogames too. And also like the rest of us, there's more that you do than that! So do tell, what do you do?"

Yin Yun Yang
What do I do?

I eat pizza, lots of it. Doing a personal project to find out what kind of frozen pizza brand I like the best, and I work. Alot lately. And next fall school starts up again, only college this time.

Ah, going into college I see! Congrats! Is there a profession you hope to seek?

Yin Yun Yang
What profession do I seek? I want to make videogames obviously. I have been thinking out an idea for a game since, 10th grade. Gets better every time I work on it too, which is good cause if it got worse there is a problem.

"It's good to get the think tank all a-percolatin' early! I hope my fanfic can hit it big someday!"

"Speaking of fanfics and the like, what do you do in your spare time?"

Yin Yun Yang
What recreational things do I do? Well, I've been in a bit of a rut lately of videogames and gaia. And cooking/eating pizza. I bike ride to work, I used to do a lot more recreation back in the old days, and by that I mean before moving here.

"Hmm. I see."

Yin Yun Yang
I miss that forest.

"Forest? Oh Um moving on..."

"You mentioned forests... so, What is the world around you like? Living in NY, i see the same scenery over and over again, so I'm curious to know!

Yin Yun Yang
What is the world around me like?

Hills, lots of hills, made of iron ore dumps. Practically surrounded by schools, can walk to the Hich School, the Junior High, and the college, and one of the elementaries from here in very little time.

"Sounds good. So, in conclusion, anythign else you'd like to add?"

Yin Yun Yang
Anything else I'd like to add?

...

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!

o_O WTF was THAT?!

Yin Yun Yang
They felt left out.

Hey everyone, I've decided to do another review. Today's game is Ice Hockey for the NES.

Ice Hockey is rather self explanatory. It's based on the sport. Nintendo made the game in 1988 and they based it on the Olympic style teams based on country, rather than the NHL. You get a selection of 6 teams:

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

The teams are:

United States
Sweden
Poland
Canada
Soviet Union
Czechoslovakia

The next screen allows you to pick your character types. There are 3 types. Thin, Average, and Fat. Fat players tend to have the advantage because they are harder to knock down and they have an easier shot at winning the face off, however they are slower than the average and thin player.

Although you can select the weight class of 4 players, the games are 5 on 5 with each team having a goalie.

As the face off begins, players meet the referee and a bashing spree to press the A and B button begins. Whoever wins out gets the puck and the game begins.

The controls are rather easy and smooth. You move with your D-pad obviously. B is to shoot the puck and A is to pass.

Similar to Blades of Steel, you control both the goalie and player at the same time. This can be difficult, so you really have to make a choice on either using your player or goalie when the time comes.

Whichever player you are controlling will be blinking, this also includes the goalie when on defense.

This is a fun game, even if you aren't the biggest sports fan. I'd give this game an 8 out of 10. It's one of my favorite sports games of all time. Ice Hockey is also available on the Wii Virtual Console and has been included in a WarioWare title.

Here is some gameplay from nesguide on Youtube. Subscribe to that channel for all sorts of NES gameplay goodness:

Reminds me of the Soccer game for the NES. Good stuff!

I don't normally play Sports games, but since Soccer was on Animal Crossing, it was worthe a try.

Hmm, I see.

As much as I like characters like Nakoruru, I just don't enjoy the thought of seeing a pretty girl like that get split in half.

Now we come to another episode of...

Is this VC-Worthy?

Now we chat with the resident bunny-boy, Diglidi-Dude, adn why he feels Mario Tennis should be put on the Virtual Console!

"So, friend, why do you think this title is VC-worthy?"

Diglidi-Dude
They're VC-worthy because, after all, it's a game with mario in it, heh? And since they added that NES tennis game on the VC, why not have the 64 version? That version was sick!

"Ah I see! I haven't played many Mario-themed sports games, really just Mario Golf for the GBC and Mario Hoops. but I hear the Tennis games are good too!"

"Now I knw for a fact, that if mario is involed in a sports game, he somehow... "redefines" it and makes it cooler than the way it's traditionally played, IMO. What does Mario and co. bring to the table in terms of tennis?"

Diglidi-Dude
I'm not sure if it's very mario-ish, but the music is insanely great in Mario Tennis. Especially when it's a match point. But what makes it so great is the gameplay; I can't explain why, but it's some of the best gameplays i've seen on a Tennis game.

"Ah, gotcha. Now how would you consider the replay value of this game?"

Diglidi-Dude
Quite long, i have to say; doing all the ring matches, bowsers, having all courts, the 2 other unlockable characters, finishing all the tournaments... Man, that's kind of alot of things to do! And with people to play with you, it's even betta! ;D

"Of course. Multiplayer makes everything better! Of course that means there's a diverse cast of characters to choose from! Mario's great and all, but he can't have the spotlight alone! So, whos your fav character in Mario Tennis? but now I'm beginning to wonder, what other companies made this game...?"

Diglidi-Dude
It has been developped by Camelot, and Camelot frikin rocks! I think they're the ones that introduced Waluigi to the Mario series, and I love how they made Wario and Waluigi so wacky! (Especially in the GameCube versions of Golf and Tennis).

I see! Well thank you for your feedback! Let's hope it really does come onto the VC someday!

Of course I can't forget my regular interviews! Today, I'm talking to Irving Thadeus Solotov about one of his favorites, the Tales of Series! This RPG series includes games like Tales of Symphonia, a GameCube favorite to many, including me!

"So, what do you find best about the Tales of Series, and more to the point, Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Symphonia?"

Irving Thadeus Solotov
What I like most about the Tales Series is the LMBS system that allows you to attack in a more real time style. It kinda revlovles like a fighting game which I'm sure The Tales Studio tries to go for. I'm not a fan of the whole turn-based crap in many RPGs, because I mean if I can attack you twice before you can attack me I'm gonna.

"Ah yes. RPGs have evolved to this day thus far. And it's only gonna get better!"

"Of course there are other RPGs out there. Some use real time battling too, unless I'm mistaken. How do you feel the Tales of Series stacks up against all the other RPGs out there, hmm?

Irving Thadeus Solotov
I think the series in general stacks up well to other RPGs, it has a loyal fanbase, from what I hear its the third most popular in Japan. Like I said earlier it's a departure from most mainstream RPGs, with it's almost fighting game style of gameplay.

"Ok!"

"Now then, no PRG is complete without the character to play out the course! Many have come and gone, with similar or different personalities. So, uh... what can you say about the characers in ToP/ToS?"

Irving Thadeus Solotov
The Characters seem kinda like your average everyday RPG characters at times.
I mean ToP was the first one of the series, so I'm guessing they didn't want to take too many leaps with characters, so theres a male Swordsman for a "main character", a female Healer character, some simple and common RPG characters but over times they have changed things up a lot, but theres always the cliches from the Tales series like female lead characters having strange weapons, and a healer who usually can't cook worth s**t, so they're alright now that the series has had time to grow.

Ah, I see. So altoghetner would you recommed these games to anyone?

Irving Thadeus Solotov
Yes, Simply put yes, I would. I mean the voice acting seems a little wonky, during ceratin parts of ToS, but the more recent TotA might be a better choice if you have a PS2, mainly because The fighting sysem has been upgraded as with all new installments,but..... I'm starting to ramble, Yes I recommend them, any of them (exception maybe to ToL, from what I hear it kinda broke away from the series).

"I wish I could've played more of this series.

Now then, there is a game called Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon for the GBC/GBA. It consists of crossovers from various Tales of Games, but it was only released in Japan. Would you play this game after having played previous games in the series?"

Irving Thadeus Solotov
Yeah I undertstand the concept of The TotW "subseries" if you will,
But I would play it if I could read Japanese. Pssh If I could read Japanese, I would import the JPN version of ToS.

I see. Well I'm playng it as a ROM with the aid of a translation patch. Does't translate EVERYTHING, just the important text.

Well, thank you for your time!
