((Thats what I like to see. There is just no fun in "I can do everything." Thats what happened with my character Mindblaze. He can literally do everything, and what he can't do he can simulate.))

((Mmhmm, ya fought him, but before he started accumulating his higher end minds, such as The Jester, The Queen, The Monk, and The Blizzard. Not to mention the fact that he ate about two thousand minds after that fight.))

((Light only, I thought. Hence the name lightsaber. I figured that it was just a beam of light concentrated to form a stick. With that light comes heat, which is what causes it to be able to melt things upon contact. O_o))

[[ Lightsabers are exactly light - the blade itself is pure energy confined by a force-field of sorts. To my knowledge, lightsabers have been able to cut through human flesh with no resistance and through durasteel (which is probably a good deal stronger than titanium) metal bulkheads several inches thick with the same amount resistance. However, it could take many seconds to burn through a blast door of durasteel. So it's got some pretty intense cutting power.
Some materials naturally resist lightsabers - such as cortosis ore or Yuuzhan Vong bio-engineered weaponry and armor. ]]

((Thats one problem I've always had with lightsabers. If its energy contained by a forcefield, how does it cut? Its contained by a freakin forcefield. My problems don't end there, but my ex is IMing me, and her mere presense saps brain cells due to an aura of stupidity.))

[[ Actual science and laws of Physics have no place in Star Wars. Star Trek tried that and they ended up with technobabble that makes no sense half the time. ]]

<~>I personally never had any taste for Star Trek in any incarnation. But confined or not, if a lightsaber is a blade of pure energy, then something with an equal amount of energy should be able to resist it.
When I think of it though in terms of circumstance, the energy that resists a lightsaber also would have to be concentrated. A moving object with that kind of momentum would still turn to goo if it hit the blade...right?<~>
