I play flute. I would sooo love to play piccolo, though. My band director didn't put me as piccolo probably because my embouchure for flute sucks. crying . Oh well.

my best friend has a purple flute but she has to get a silver one for marching season to "match the band" or so our new BD said. I have a silver Bundy and I heard they don't make them anymore!

Cool! mrgreen Except that flute only has a C foot and closed holes, which affects intonation. And also what the flute is made out of underneath the purple lacquer. NOT hating, just pointing out.

It depends on what's it's made of overall. While with saxophones the type of lacquer(finish) will change the sound of it.
