Erebus, Page of Saturn

When Babylon interrupted, Erebus could see his point but still frowned at his tone. It wasn't a surprise to him in the least that Valhalla and Venice were still fully planning on ignoring the Knights words and still offer up their energy. Even Ganymede, with her very understandable concerns, was prepared to give the benefit of the doubt at least after a demonstration of the crystals usage.

Though when Aaru spoke up with his refusal, he almost turned to raise an eyebrow in question at him but didn't as Caedus started to hand out the crystals. He curled his hand around the crystal dropped into his hand and studies it as he made sure his uncovered fingers were touching it. It wasn't long before it started to glow and he was surprised that he didn't feel anything in particular beyond warm though there was still time.

"I understand your faith in your planet but, you should at least make sure you have a way back if it turns out there is something wrong." He spoke up after his previous concerns were addressed. He looked away from the glowing crystal in his hands to glance over at Venice and give him a half smile before looking back at Caedus. It looked to him that the stranger was in need of rest very soon. "I think he's going to have to take you up on that offer soon." He said to Venice.

Myrrha, Sailor Senshi of Scents

Myrrha felt relieved as Cassiopeia accepted or waved off her apology. It was nice to know that she had not affronted the other senshi when she turned on her. She even gave the other a small grin at the pronouncement that she had been quick. "I'm not sure I should thank you for that last comment but thank you anyways. I don't think I've actually introduced myself yet. I'm Sailor Myrrha senshi of scents."

Myrrha stretched out her hand in an offer for Cassiopeia to shake if she wanted. There would be no hard feelings if she didn't reciprocate the action. "I still think it is fishy though that Caedus is offering this advantage to us. I guess we'll just wait and see what happens."

Hearing other voices around Myrrha glanced up to nod politely at the senshi nearby (Enif) and the cat that Cassiopeia had just picked up. (Pyewacket) "Hello Pyewacket. It is nice to meet you."

Watching the crystals being handed out and the explanation behind them before her curiosity got the better of her. She watched the reactions of the first few that had been handed crystals before grimacing. She wasn't sure the idea was right but something about the whole situation was beginning to confuse her about whether or not to help out. Moving away from Cassiopeia and the group Myrrha moved closer to those that were handling the crystals already. Already a change was noticeable. The senshi of scents eyed Caedus with some hesitation before she sighed. She was silent for a moment before she thought of a question, "Is there a finite limit on how much energy the crystal can absorb?"

She wouldn't take a crystal ... not quite yet.

Scholomance, Squire of Saturn

The City of Earth, the castle, the Rift... There's a lot to take in. All of these places are in Negaverse territory, and all of them remain so unknown to us. Well, most of us. Scholomance cast a glance toward Gevaudan. Some, I see, are quite eager to go forth. If Metallia's goal is to subsume the earth, then it only makes sense. Still - it's a trade of large quantities of energy for a portal into a land that so few here know. Suppose it's like being cast out into space. One would have seconds, maybe, before imploding. Suppose it goes directly into the Rift. Again, seconds, and then one would be devoured. Suppose it's to Metallia herself. And what if this is an offering of knights and senshi for her pleasure? No one here knows the limits of her power. It might be well within her jurisdiction to do so. She might kill all of us with a thought, and we would find that all she needed before was proximity.

It's a strange bargain; it's unwise to take it. Besides, with the tasks we're being asked... I wonder how many will see it as too much a parallel to the Negaverse, or how many find that Machiavelli had it right when he said the ends justify the means. How many will eagerly return with full crystals, or how many might never find their way back to him? It will be interesting to find out.

Besides, how much am I
really losing with this deal.

Silently Scholomance stepped forward to accept one of the offered crystals. After hearing that skin contact is necessary to start the process, he did not remove his gloves. It lay in his hand lifelessly as he mulled over the provided information about crystals as an energy source on this Caedus' planet. He knew crystals held unique properties for resonance, built on their structure. If they were, perhaps, another thousand years in the technological future, crystals would become the next energizer battery. There would be no need for replacements, so long as the crystal remained intact. And now, a stranger of a thousand years past offered such advances to them trivially - as if it were commonplace to him. Scholomance wondered; if this was a piece of technology available to this man a thousand years ago, then where might his world have progressed? Castor's idea toward a treatise would have been worthwhile, to say the least.

He, Scholomance thought, just clarified himself as one very lucrative target for business deals. However, his terms sounded much too steep - if even agreeing to help required the elimination of Metallia, and Scholomance estimated that a single assault would not yield so easy a victory, then they would lose the assistance. For a war that has waged for so long, Scholomance imagined they would not turn the tides within their lifetime.

"The cleanest energy is human energy," he commented to himself. "This is starting to sound a little Soylent Green." The crystal was then pocketed, and Scholomance backed away from the gathering. Let the rest wait on him, then. I think it's time to see how much this information is worth.

Scholomance offered a polite, if nervous, nod to each of those he knew there - Thraen, Aaru, Colin, Methone, Mont Blonc, and Thrymr primarily. Afterward he extracted himself from the conglomeration of senshi and knights, readied his cane, and started the long journey home.

Faust, Guardian Cat

While the feline glazed over through the immensely lengthy discussion and questions, he perked quite readily at the mention of taking action. Finally he had a reason to avoid falling asleep on Thraen's shoulder, even if it was to give some weird dude some energy that he probably didn't deserve. Faust would try it nonetheless, because he offered them a gateway to Metallia's home, and who would he be to pass that up?

"Yo, Thraen, get me a crystal. I got paws, man." Faust held out a kitty foot to indicate his distinct lack of opposable thumbs for crystal holding purposes. "Put it in my mouth." He opened his jaw and awaited the offering.

Cuan Oilean / Chariklo / Xibalba

Grinning a little at Caedus' confusion and confession, Chariklo shrugged and studied the crystal she'd been given.

"If it makes you feel any better, you're not the only one, friend," she said easily. "But if there ever comes a time where you can relax, I'll explain. There will be visual aids."

It was easier to think of sitting back and binge-watching a cartoon with an alien than of the implications of just how much a strike against Metallia would cost them. Though, as she half listened to Caedus speak, she couldn't help but be struck by just how much he sounded like a character out of Steven Universe. She glanced up into Cuan's eyes and raised her hand to show off the crystal.

"If you try to call him Lapis, I shall scratch you," the cat muttered softly as she delicately sniffed at the crystal. "There isn't any Chaos in this thing that I can detect. But you know, dear, I don't think you can stand to donate too much energy. Best to give the crystal back soon."

Nodding in agreement, Chariklo could already feel herself tiring. For all of her bluster and cockiness, she knew her body wasn't exactly at its peak after so many months of abuse. She watched the small swirls of white filling the crystal and waited until Caedus was close by. Then, she held out the crystal to him.

"I'd better give this back before I fall on my face and have to be dragged home. But I'm more'n willing to meet up again."

She shared another glance with her cat.

"We both are."

-------------------------

Xibalba watched and listened carefully as crystals were passed around, though he didn't take one himself. Instead, he contented himself with watching those around him who had. And as far as he could tell, everything Caedus was telling them about the things was true. No one looked in pain.

Well, no, he amended silently as he watched Caedus carefully. He doesn't look so good. Which just made the page wonder how on earth they were going to protect the guy in case the Negaverse came calling.

He heard Chariklo and Cuan talking softly and decided that if they were going to come back later, he'd be going with them.

"Guess I make three," he said with a faint grin. "Have y'got somewhere safe tae stay, though?" he asked Caedus. "Y'don't look so good."

If Caedus really could give them a shot at taking out the Negaverse, they couldn't risk losing him.

Scylla, Kraken

Caedus was visibly tiring, but he was striving forward, placing crystals in the palms of anyone who offered a hand for one. You are too kind, he told her, and for a moment she couldn't tell if it was gratitude or a warning. Not really certain how best to respond, Scylla shook her head. "I wish I could offer something nicer," was all she said.

When the man said there were more, she held out a palm to accept a crystal from his shaking hand. Some had already taken them, and the change was interesting. These crystals can collect energy from nearly anything, but some energy flows cleaner than others. Trees, flowers, they can provide energy. But it's next to nothing. What would take you a month to collect from them, you could collect in an hour from a human. Animals, for the most part, are the same. Some life forms are just more susceptible to the energy transfer. On this planet, humans replenish energy quickly, and they give the cleanest energy...If you get lightheaded, you only need to drop it. It will stop collecting immediately. If your vitals are challenged, it will not gather. It only collects energy until unconsciousness. They are prescribed as a sleeping aid. So they are safe to use. On anyone. Mostly.

Questions were already starting. "Can the crystals collect energy from another powered crystal, instead of from something living? You say they are mostly safe to use, who should be avoided? And they are sleep aids? How will you get the energy from them for your use?" then she paused. "Well. You can probably disregard the last question, that's overly personal and not vital to the conversation." Plus he was flagging quickly, sagging more and more the more crystals he passed out. She may already have the answer if she just observed.

He planned to remain here- she glanced at where his gaze went, to the trees and- in the park??? "Do you mean here in 'the park', or here as in 'this town', because the Park isn't the most comfortable. I would be happy to help find you someplace else more secure to stay." The park just... wasn't the safest, actually, but one thing at a time. (Seriously, if he said the park, Scylla was going to come around tomorrow littering blankets, a bedroll, food, water bottles, and whatever else might help. A taser?? Staying in a park. But it was his decision, for his safety. She'd keep her opinion to herself.) With a sift sigh, the Senshi held out a bare palm to accept a crystal for inspection. "If I may take a look? I'd be inclined to aid you with one of those- I could use some help sleeping." She tried to make it a joke, but it may have fallen more flat and honest than intended.

Honored? Grateful?

Subamara, Senshi of Coffee

Subamara
watched the ‘demonstration’ quietly, as the little crystals clouded and glowed in the other people’s hands. She thought Caedus seemed more relaxed once he started handing them out, like he’d been expecting rejection right up until the devices were activated. His words were also becoming more free as he explained his… technology? Magic? It didn’t sound as sinister as everyone had feared, especially when he was giving over control of the energy absorption to the ones who would donate it. And making no show of force or entreaty to the ones who were sceptical. A real enemy, she thought, someone who meant them harm, would likely be pushing harder for everyone to take a crystal. The more she listened and thought about it, the more it seemed like his motives were legit. She felt a little bad that she’d hesitated.

She watched his hands, looking for some sign of the strange appearance he’d alluded to. She still wasn’t close enough for a good view. An alien from a constructed world…. Well, it wasn’t the strangest thing she’d heard of since receiving her pen.

When he mentioned that he had more crystals to give, she moved forward again, offering her gloved hand.

I could use a sleep aid, too,” she said.

She stepped back again with a little half-curtsy, the crystal cupped carefully against white fabric. It seemed a gentle, harmless trinket. It seemed he didn’t want them back immediately, if they were slow-acting, giving them time. She would try it out later, when she was closer to home.

But Caedus was far from his home, and despite offers from those around her, it sounded like he planned to stay on the hill. Clearly he wasn’t up for company, but he seemed so frail. If he couldn’t go home with someone, or accept the offers of a safer place, would he accept a sentry, in case youma found him?

Will you be safe?” she asked. “They won’t find you?

Arthur

Arthur turned into the petting as he shrugged.

"I wouldn't know. I only make phones and have only been taught how to make our headsets recently, and even then I needed help. I haven't been to any other planets but the moon. I....haven't even made many phone calls."

His address book consisted of only a paw-full of senshi.

"I really haven't been in the same game as you till a few months. I basically just woke people up and went home. I'm trying to learn, but if you want to test them out, I can make a few phones and we can make some calls." He also was interested in seeing other places.

Shaking his body, he arched his back to stretch before jumping off Castor and turning. "I'm going to g et a crystal." He went to get one himself, standing before the strange man.

"You can place it on the ground since you seem tired and skittish. You have their attention so you can ask for like a pillow or something so you don't get tired sitting here all day. I live outside a lot too and it gets very cold here. Maybe a tent would be good for you in the meantime?"

Elpis

"I can get you food too." Elpis noted. "Cake, soup - anything. Maybe a food rotation. What about shelter?" Elpis blinked. "You deserve someplace safe to stay that doesn't feel confining."

She noted his fear of recapture, and the Senshi was already trying to comb her mind, trying to think of a safe location for the being. He seemed to be tiring, and Elpis adjusted posture to offer support standing if he needed it, humming to Caedus softly and soothingly. When Porrima stepped up, Elpis beamed with no small amount of pride to the younger senshi, nodding approvingly - this was a good step, diplomaxy - and Elpis smiled.

"I will gladly accept a crystal to help," Elpis said gently, tone remaining soft and warm. "But I want to be sure you are protected as well. You are the guest to this world and by all means deserve far better treatment than you got in the past."

Whatever happened then - Caedus deserved better now.

Cordoba

"Thank you." Cordoba responded to the crystal placed in her palm with habit, a thank you. For what, she wasn't sure, but ink washed away to clarity and she could see clearly again, the page watching the crystal in her palm curiously. It seemed warm as it was held, althought the area around felt cool, and she could almost hear her ancestor on Cordoba either scold her carelessness or try nosing in to futily touch as well. Both earned a slightly broader smile, the page looking up to Caedus with a less-shy smile.

"This is really amazing!"

Loud? Rude? Immature?

The Abyssinian followed Tomlin to address Caedus, but did not approach him directly yet, scanning the area before sighing at Elpis, looking to Tomlin, ears flat.

"It seems so, unfortuanately. And she sppears to be acting a soft heart. No, I? I think of meeting my senshi I prefer the human whom calls herself my owner. If nothing else, she's sweet, sensible, and loving."

Mind, the mauvian also had a ia.

Stonehenge

"Alas! Not yet. I'm still rather new. Not quite at this a month. I had come to observe this." Stonehenge resisted calling things a mess, or to comment on how many attractive women, but smiled.

"Should I?" He tilted his head, genuinely curious. While still noting the voices around - especially Caedus - he was in no hurry to approach yet. Questions need not be repeated, he was listening, and right now, his senshi needed his attention - far more important one serve their Lady, then serve idly.

"If you need, I might pass my information as well. I've family at home, but if you use my normal name, they'll likely just not think twice."

Corvus, Eternal of Vengeance

Stormy eyes drifted around to those accepting crystals from the creature who had summoned them, gaze narrowing as she crossed her arms over her chest rather than accept one of her own. She could accept dealing a blow to the Negaverse if it hit Metallia and they were still left with a chance to purify those who could be saved, but how could they just trust someone so easily?

There was also the crystals; their existence as energy receptacles concerned her. Scylla seemed to ask some important questions about the 'mostly safe' comment, but there was something else about them that bothered her.

"Are these crystals any different than the ones that officers of the Negaverse, agents of Metallia, use to harvest energy? If they aren't, how did they come to posses them? If we are taking energy from others, and not just donating it ourselves, what makes us any different than them?"

Teide hadn't taken a crystal, and though she felt conspicuous about her lack of participation, she felt confident in her choice. "I don't want what he's offering, either," she said, crouching so she was more on Iduna's level.

"Hver," she said, looking desperately towards Hvergelmir. "I really, really have a bad feeling about this. Please tell me you feel it too."

"Good things... good things don't ask you to take energy," she said. "I want to destroy Metallia, but this feels all wrong."

Far too many people were taking crystals. Far too many people were already envisioning the possibility of going off to die, hoping they were somehow well provisioned against any enemy that had to be many times more powerful than all the enemies they already hadn't yet managed to defeat.

On her home turf. In a place they'd never been.

There was reckless, and then there was just willfully stupid. Trying to attack Metallia as they were now was more than mere recklessness . . . it was the sort of stupidity that catered to fear, desperation, and miserable hope.

"Plenty of people have taken crystals already -- we won't. They're excited, but they need time to cool their heads. To reconsider this entire plan. I wish Mistral were here . . . she might have some idea about the crystals, at least. Maybe if Babylon takes one, we can see if Mistral can take a look at it."

Hvergelmir offered Teide and Iduna a bracing smile to allay their fears -- but in truth, the prospect of such an ill-advised assault on the Negaverse's base of operations filled her with dread. For all that people had been struck by the tragedy at Mistral's wonder, what they were suggesting had the potential for a far higher toll in innocent lives.

At least, she hoped, Teide and Iduna would not be among them.

Sailor Chara of Chocolate

Once the mysterious man handed him a stone Chara rolled it around in his hands, thinking for a moment that it didn't work. After that moment passed he realized that he was wearing gloves, hence no fleshy bits to drain from. Eh, it was for the best; he REALLY did not feel like ending up dragging his a** back home just because he was way too gung-ho about all of this. He had already given his mother one heart attack this month, and he was trying to keep on the down low from that again.

But DAMN was he excited! Maybe he could even find a Negaverse a*****e to tie up and then drain them, see how THEY like it! ... Though this sounds way safer and less intimidating. Still, hitting a jerk in the face with a stone and saying "SUCK IT" literally sounded amazing.

All in all, Chara had meant to make some sort of ally here, but it was unfruitful in that department. At least this wandering wasn't ENTIRELY useless. He watched the crowd for a while and rolled his eyes at the ones who refused the stones. He bet they were those who were all stuck in their old ways of 'Nooo we gotta be peaceful!' and that sort of s**t.

No. That wasn't the world that they lived in anymore. If the Negaverse was willing to kill, then so should they!

He was more than ready to storm this place, whatever the hell the Rift was, and fight them on their own turf!

Sailor Fornax of Dough

There was a bit of disappointment that came over Fornax as he realized his new found cranberry friend had decided to meander away. It made sense though. He was still a kid, a very excitable kid too, from what he could tell. And the other person looked to be a friend! That was great, atleast the kid wasn't completely unaware as to what was going, not like he was. He had Cor Caroli still so he wasn't entirely left alone.

Standing back up, the dough senshi went to stand beside his friend once more, frowning slightly about what was going on, but still taking the stone once it was offered and placing it in his pocket.

"Honestly, I have no idea what's going on.. I don't know what the Rift is? A Secret base on a secret plane? It's all baffling. And I know how bad the Negaverse is but that's about it. If it helps to take them down, then lets do it. I'm sure I can give a bit of energy each night until it's filled. And then we'll take them out."

Babylon

Babylon looked curiously at the crystal in his hand as it began to fill with mist. A strange feeling overtook him, like he was watching a bag fill with his own blood. The crystal was warm in his hand, but his arm felt cold. Unnerved, he swapped it to his gloved hand where it could do him no further... whatever this was. Not harm, but not good, either.

He looked back toward Caedus.

"How much energy do you require?" he asked. "How will we know when we have enough? And how will you collect the energy from the crystals?"

It wasn't a good night for making hasty decisions. Babylon had no plans to collect from civilians - only to fee the crystal as much of his own energy as he could spare, and even then, he hadn't made up his mind about anything. Striking the rift was ambitious, and Caedus had a way with words that made it sound possible...

...but was it really?

Castor Page Aptera

The newbie she was now moved forward again with a little less hesitance and also received one of the crystals Caedus was offering to those willing in the gathering. The cloaked figure looked tuckered out and Aptera hoped he would be able to regain energy to bring him away from looking so close to crumbling through nourishment and rest following his journey to freedom.

And because Aptera's gaze took to regularly glancing over at Prince Castor for whatever reason her puzzling head had outside of her current comprehension, Aptera hadn't missed the smile Prince Castor gave her and she smiled back to him in kind. Then, her gaze moved to the starry sky next, more comfortable at this time to wonder while looking up at a sky than at an individual. She had heard and thus learned much from listening during this gathering but still she had many questions from small to large and some crossed her mind just now. How had Prince Castor known she was one of his knights? After tonight, how would she learn further about all that was happening in this seemingly hidden magical dimension woven mysteriously beside the human day to day ongoings? The hand holding one of the crystals they were given reached up to hold her pendant again as well. And then she noticed it had a shape to it, her other hand joining her inspecting touch calmly but curiously as her focus was now divided between partially keeping the stars in sight and taking in the feel of her pendant's shape in more detailed observation with her touch.

But after a few beats passed, her eyes moved down gradually about to check if she might be able to see the pendant itself at her neck, but instead her gaze saw a crest on one of her bracers and then on the other. She was getting a better look at her attire now, fascinated all over again that she did in fact transform. And then she saw the same sort of crest as part of the linear designs of her shoes. Was this crest that of Prince Castor's kingdom? Was seeing it as part of her outfit's design how his highness had recognized her as one of his knights? Again, her questioning gaze moved wordlessly to Prince Castor.
