Cecelia turned from her consideration of the dwarf and watched Finita make the odd tray that stuck out from her tank. It looked kind of silly, but she could see the purpose behind it. It would do for the time being. However it made her feel she was in a cage. Unlike the others, she did not have the freedom to move around. The sudden overwhelming feeling of helplessness and claustrophobia nearly spilled into her music. Quickly, she controlled herself and allowed her music to sooth her, letting it be the only thing that filled her mind. When she was calm enought, she watched the head scientist. She was always amused by the Minotaur's reaction to her music. Her race really were fun to play for. Sad the scientist didn't seem to be able to hold a tune(though it tickled her all the more). Cecelia ended her song the minute she saw food come in the door. She didn't exactly have breakfast, so she was famished. She swam to her new table and rested her elbows on it. It felt a lot a standing and eating. A very alert position to take that suited her just fine. Once again when food was placed before her, her attention was no where else. Whether it was from appetite, her races habits, or habits from being on the streets; table manners didn't seem to be her forte. She gobbled the food as if it would be ripped away at any moment.

Weird science, nothing! It's Magic... And Magic is a headache. Said Finita. I have no solid explanation as to how these womane have transformed the way they have that the scientific community will accept... She said with a sigh. At the question of scientific objectivity, she winced. I... honestly wasn't thinking of that at the time. See, there's this book... She picked it up off the table and showed it to Shini. It was found in a temple in the Himalayas. I was the one who translated it the first time. It listed a number of various magical creatures, and, at the end of the book, a number of different rituals. Every time I read through this one ritual... I dunno how to describe it... like a tug, or a whisper "You are meant to do this." It became stronger once the ritual was set up.... once I transformed, I found myself feeling more whole, more complete. Like this is how I'm supposed to be. But ever since then I've been focusing my attention on observing everyone else's changes with my own eyes... I have someone else keeping an eye on myself. Though, I will be the first to say that the psychological changes on my own mind were drastic.
I listened to her as I ate. I kept my expression mostly neuteral as I muched on a piece of salmon nigiri... Thinking back, I remembered that all of the other girls seemed to have been affected by this tug, this call. ... was I? I tried to remember, confused...
Helena had tucked into her meal only to find something wasn't quite right. The gorgon was now fanning herself lightly, her tongue out as she panted softly. The paltry waft of air fanned to her mouth did nothing to soothe the fiery tingle that pervaded her mouth. Thinking quick, she took a gulp of apple tea to wash it away and took instead a mouthful of rice to try and soothe the sting. It was delicious, but my, this dish was hot! Hotter than she's asked for. Yet complaining wasn't something she wanted to do. There was nothing wrong with the flavour.
She'd heard some of the girls from work say that if you eat enough of a hot dish your tongue would go numb, so getting the full zing of the hot curry, she added another big spoonful. It was unexpected after she ordered something milder, but she found it added an extra buzz of warmth and spice that was heating her up from the inside out now and she sort of liked that feeling.
Helena almost choked on her spoonful when Olivia shot off from Silvia's head like a firecracker, whizzing off past them all. She paused, spoon in her mouth and tilted her head as she held the spoon there, noticing the newcomer for the first time. Who isss thisss?New volunteersss?Sssizzling... (this comment referred to effects of the curry) Ssss? And the last one Helena wasn't too sure. She raised the end of her tail and waved it at Shini lazily, preoccupied with eating and rather relaxed.
As she ate, she listened to conversation around the table, piecing bits together where she could. The way Shini spoke, she didn't sound like she was here as a volunteer to be changed into something mythical, but more to study them and help out, similar to Finita and Ratchet and some other staff. Polishing off equal portions of spicy food and tea and rice, she nodded at the part where Finita descirbed how she felt. Helena had felt it too, that strange compulsion. "Finita is right. It feels...right, somehow. Feels good" she said softly, speaking to whoever was listening and glancing around at others to hear what they thought too.

Cecelia slowed down once on the crab. She took her time breaking through the crab shell and scooping out the meat. This was by far her favorite. The Salmon was delicious and savory, but the crab was like her dessert. She was absently listening to the conversation. This new girl would be interesting. It was nice to see their little group growing. She broke another leg and looked down at the book and at Silvia. She wanted to know what was in the book and why it seemed the fox could read it. She would have to get her attention and talk to her later. "I could second that." Cecelia finally spoke up, adding to the current conversation. "I mean look at me. I got the best out of this bargain." She winked at Shini and flipped her hair over her shoulder. It was vain, but she enjoyed attention she got. And she was started to like the idea of flirting. Her shyness was fading a lot thanks to this project. She couldn't thank Finita enough for giving her a chance.
“Lass, to me, water is nothin more to me anymore. Its only good for makin alchohol. Beer, wine, whiskey. Its all water in some way to be begin, but to me a dwarf, ain't worth it to me. I do on the otherhand enjoy yer music. Its beautiful in a way.”

Estelle grinned as the scientists handed her several bottles of rum and another steak sandwich. The dwarf tore a large chunk from the bread and licked her stony lips. “Delicious!” The dwarf roared then popped open the cork of the rum and downed half of it. “Ah, first time I've ever had rum. Ain't even bad! She did have to laugh those at the antics of Helena's snake hair stealing food from her and everything. She did have to feel a little sad though. She now wondered what her family would think now seeing her.

Shini laughed warm and friendly towards the group. They all had theirwon charms. The Kitsune seemed the most reserved so far but really Shini had only begun to observe each of them. She ate her food casually drinking her beer. She was more of a Budweiser girl but this wasn't terrible. when Cecelia put on the charm Shini just winked seductively and said "It looks like you did hot scales." Shini thought hard about these transformations and what the girls might have been like before this happened. it was too late to develop a prior mental profile to determine if these feelings were an act of compulsion due to the magical effect on them.
As I thought about what the other girls had said, I found myself staring at the book. Even if I only was able to safely read one more chapter... I needed to read more. I continued eating.
Finita put the book down and continued to munch on her noodled. After a moment she put it aside and started digging into her salad, which she was glad to find had the dressing separate. She added a small amount to it and started to eat.
I tusked away my food as fast as I could without seeming hurried, before neatly getting up and collecting my dishes to throw them in a bin. When that was done I bowed to the group, putting my palms together into a traditional Japanese bow.
I am a bit tired... I think I will head down to my room early to relax.
With that I turned to leave, casually walking towards the door, past Cecelia's tank. I looked up at the Siren with a smile and a wave.
Finita raised an eyebrow as I walked past Cecelia's tank, with my tail swishing back and forth along the floor. She herself wanted to stop me but couldn't think of a good reason too... she hadn't noticed that the book had vanished...

It was then that the Kitsune noticed.... the book was missing for her too. Instead Shini was thumbing through it casually with a beer in her other hand... "I wouldn't exactly call this light reading... and I know Kitsune are legends in trickery ... but pinching from your comrades... serious trust issues perhaps coupled with a inner harboring of a secret? You have eyed the group for a while and this book now. I suppose it holds even deeper meaning to you than the rest of them perhaps? You can't live life with a light heart weighed down with secrets now! I wont ask you to dish immediately here and now but if you would like to schedule a private session I would be thrilled to help relive some of this hidden stress from your mind."
Cecelia watched Silvia get up, thinking this was her chance. She finished the last leg quickly and set the food aside. However she paused as the new woman started thumbing threw the book that had been in from of Finita not long before. And was she... reading Silvia. Cecelia held back a chuckle. "Hey, Silvia." she said, waving back to the Kitsune. "I was wondering.... Could I talk to you later? Just us girls." she said. There were a lot of other woman in the room, but it was obvious she meant just Silvia and herself.

I looked to Shini and eyed her for a long moment.
As much as I'd like that... unfortunately I must decline...
I then turned to Cecelia with a smile, before waving another hand. A spirit formed, made of icy blue light, looking like a fox with nine tails. It suddenly appeared harnessed to Cecelia's tank.
Why later? I'm free to talk to you now! Ta ta, everyone!
The Tank slipped out the door, not shaking the tank much thankfully, and I stepped out the door with a grin, before closing it very quickly.
~~~
I hopped on the back of the tank. I looked up at Cecelia with a impish smile.
With hunger fully sated, Helena was pleased to find that she had none of that tightened overstuffed feeling in her belly that she was accustomed to after a really good feed.
She supposed there was more room for things now that she had the extra space. Idly, she pondered whether she could get an examination or an xray or something. She'd like to learn more about the physical makeup of gorgons. It was a strange feeling, not knowing about her own body and she thought back to when she was a child, with all sorts of questions about this and that. Her siblings never failed to give the wrong information or encourage incorrect ideas growing up. With her meal digesting, however, and the deluxe breeze warming her body, she began to feel that she could not fight sleep any longer. Her eyes felt heavy again behind their dark shields and she was starting to nod, only keeping herself awake by willpower. When Silvia got up from the table to leave, that was all the excuse Helena needed.
"Excuse me everyone, I think I am going to call it a night. It's been very interesting but if I stay by this heater any longer, I'm going to fall asleep. Ciao, I shall hope to see you all in the morning" she spoke, her voice rasping slightly from the spice in the meal and the sleep that clung to it.
Covering an eye-watering yawn behind one hand, she stretched her arms above her head, arching her back as she sighed. "Come on old bod, you can do it" So saying, Helena roused her lazy bones and uncurled herself, slithering to the nearest wastebin to toss out the empty takeaways.
With a satiny glimmer as her scales caught the light, she then followed after the fox woman, covering ground quite quickly as she slid up beside her.
"Pardon me, but would you be able to show me where my room is if you're heading in that direction? I wish to retire to my chambers" Helena announced, with a half-hearted attempt at a flourishing royal wave and a fake snobbish accent on the final part of her words.
Olivia giggled at the new comer but before she could actually respond to the woman she saw her fruit and oddly couldn't help herself! Flying over to her fruit cup the tiny fairy woman began to gobble it up happily. It was sweet and delicious though the fruit could have been a bit more ripe she didn't mind. Oddly she was so very hungry!
She too felt like this was how she was supposed to be. Olivia had always felt oddly bigger when she was a Human. She was too big and was always bumping her head or her foot. She always wondered what it would be like to be small as a mouse. Like magic she finished the whole cup and wiped her mouth on one of the spare napkins. Full and happy she let out a yawn.
"Sleepy sleep time!" she said to everyone as she flew up and over to one of the flowers, she had created earlier. Laying down in the middle it magically closed around her. Happily letting the fairy digest and sleep in peace. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alex quietly listened to everyone. He was lucky to be able to see a few transformations himself but his eyes wandered to the Siren. A faint blush on his face she was so pretty and very flirty too. Not that he minded, though Alex didn't understand why he had the sudden desire to kiss her lips? He wanted to just cuddle her to death too.
The more he thought about it the deeper his blush was until he noticed Ratchet staring at him. Laughing nervously the younger scientist began to finish his food. Sushi was pretty good, but then again Alex loved seafood. Once that was done he noticed the Kitsune and Siren walk off. That made him sad a little, but getting some sleep probably was a good idea. Once Helena left he grinned. "Thanks for dinner it was good. I'm off to bed too. There's still a lot I have to digest." he said his mind still on the Siren.
Leaving the room he headed down the hall to unpack some more of his belongings and then finally head off to sleep. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ratchet sighed some. Standing up he began to clean up all the empty dishes. Why in the heck everything all fell on his shoulders annoyed him a little. It was like everyone had no compassion anymore. That's what sort of bugged him a little. As he was cleaning up the food, throwing away the trash, he had left the room a bit after Alex had did and after everyone had finished.
Human women held compassion with ease, they displayed it. Though after all these women changed it was like it had vanished. Only those "privileged" to see it were able to experience it. That was something he noticed. Maybe compassion was just a form of weakness to the other races? Yet he didn't think so, compassion was wonderful and he still held onto his.
His mind was just wandering as he was washing the dishes. Unlike last time everything wasn't all plastic. What would happen after all of these rituals were over with? Probably nothing much, just everyone getting check ups and everything. Still Ratchet couldn't help but wonder the real reasons for all of this? I mean every girl that signed up was able to change. They hadn't run into any girls the rituals didn't work for.
Something seemed off a bit, like some kind of odd magnetic pull. Even he felt an odd tug in his heart and soul. Not like Finita and the others, it was more of a slight sense of regret. Looking at the soapy water her sighed some. Ratchet was tired but he still had a report to write. Looks like tonight would be an all nighter again.
Cecelia was a little surprised that she was in the mood to talk so soon. She wasn't sure if she could, considering the fox seemed a bit aloof to her. She recovered quickly for two seconds. The spirit fox startled her again. "Alright then." she said, taking it in. She swam in a circle thoughtfully and then looked at my companion for the moment. "My room please. If I must be confined, I would like it to at least feel like freedom." she said pleasantly. She did like this little spirit fox. It seemed to have no trouble rolling her tank around, and completely amiable about it. Fascinating. There was a rasp sound that she could hear even through the distortion the water always caused when she was in it(which it attested to her hearing that she could still understand). She looked with the fox to see the naga appear. Another intriguing woman with them that she would like to know. She swam to that side of the tank and put her hands on the glass. "I don't know if Finita has prepared a room yet...." she remarked, frowning.
Looking back over to Helena as she slithered around next to us, I smiled.
Sure. We can see if your room is finished yet... the contractors that Finita hired are getting faster and faster, so it just might be ready for you already!
I then looked up at Cecelia. Your room it is! Perhaps we could both explore the waters of your little abode?
It wasn't long before the fox had reached the elevator, and I carefully had it squeeze Cecelia's tank inside one.
Once the tank was securely inside I slipped inside next to it as I waited for Helena to board as well. Once the three of us were inside I pressed the button for the bottom floor.
I waited until I felt the elevator stop before proceeding to carefully steer the fox and the tank back out of the elevator.
Looking back and forth from one hallways to another, I hopped on the back and had the fox steer us doen one hallway. I noticed Cecelia had something new painted upon her door; a musical note. Looking about, I saw another door down the hall, and I wandered over to it on foot. the door had a snake upon it and I opened the door, finding a lush jungle paradise with a stone building like a small temple inside.
I waved over to Helena. I found your room!
Finita watched as everyone headed for their rooms, and Ratchet left, seemingly mopey. She had finished her pasta and her salad, and her tail ears wiggled some as she sighed.
That fox... I'm not surprised she tried to make off with it. Last time she read too much she got a nosebleed, and I had to yank it from her hands... She shook her head with a sigh before looking to Shini. I shall have to keep a closer eye on her... Thanks for catching her trying to make off with it.
