Ishira took his place in front of Noaah and Rhaplanca. Alternating between physical and magical attack depending on the range. One particular A.B.R. was relentless despite the song magic backing him up. Ishira leaped into the air and smashed the head unit's dome open causing the whole machine to glitch before punching a fist of electricity into the mid-unit as he descended. Finally, he cast earth magic to open a fissure in the street to drop the A.B.R., causing the weight of the entire machine to crush the bottom unit, "Take that," he breathed heavily, sweat dripping from his forehead. He wiped in away with his sleeve and pressed on, clearing the path for the Reyvateils until they finally reached Gannon and the others, "Alright," he said bending down and holding his knees to catch his breath, "When this is over, you and I are going to have a serious talk," he said to Gannon with a smirk of irritation, "But for now, what can we do to help?"

Gannon…

With a savage roar, Gannon took down the guardian, impaling the machine and sending enough volts through it to completely fry its insides. Turning to the next, he couldn't help but notice the group he'd just left. "The hell? Thought I left ya back there?"
Gannon couldn't help himself when Ishira said they were gonna have a talk, he just started laughing. "That's a good one, Kid! 'Til then, how 'bout ya kill guardians!?"

"[Rrha ki ra ecchra jam fandel manaf...] [In a concentrated trance I am resonating with many lives...] Hikari was having difficulty crowding out the voices in her head and she suddenly released her magic upon a large number of units. After the massive burst of energy, none were standing in front of her. But the song had taken its toll. She had a hand to her head, wincing. All these voices... so many... I can't get them out of my head!!! "Stop it... stop it..." She dropped to her knees.

Most of the units were put out of commission. Mana sighed and wiped the sweat away, her energy spent. She realized that she'd been hid pretty hard in the side and that she was bruising. "Sheesh, that sucked," she muttered.

Gannon…

"Hikari!" The ice claws on his hands shattered as he raced to the Reyvateil's side, cursing himself for letting Hikari battle alone while he was off dealing with Vegna. If she was having a relapse, things could get bad. Memories flooded his mind. He did his best to push them out. He couldn't afford that right now.

Gannon…

"Hey, how ya feelin?" Gannon was kneeling down next to the Reyvateil. "I need the truth. I need to know exactly what you're feeling right now." He leaned in close so she was the only one who could hear. "Are you hearing... Voices?"

Nel~


It had been a long day at the bakery and Nel and her mother were just settling in for the night. Nel locked all of the doors and checked the shelves just to be sure everything was in its proper place. Satisfied, she joined her mother upstairs. "Good night, Mother. I love you." She kissed the old woman on the cheek.

"Oh, Nel, I love you too," Irene returned with a smile. "I will see you in the morning, child. Say, is there anything that you wanted to do tomorrow? I was thinking of closing shop for a couple of hours to do some shopping for ingredients, and while we're at it perhaps you and I could spend some time together. We've been really busy lately and you've worked so hard."

Nel clasped her hands together excitedly. "Really, truly, Mother? I would love to! Oh, but only if it won't hurt the bakery's business too much while we'll be gone..."

"I have already posted the sign, letting our customers know that we've gone to buy ingredients. We won't be able to take a break for long, but just for a little while. I will go back to work afterwards. I want you to spend the rest of the day enjoying the nice weather we are having, however."

"Mother... thank you," Nel squealed in delight. "I can't wait!" She hugged the woman once more before skipping off to her room and flinging open the shutters of her window. She stared up at the moon. "Ahh... what a beautiful night." Her smile soon faded. "Why do I have this nagging feeling, like something bad is happening? I wish I could remember... I feel as though there is something I need to be doing. Something that I absolutely must do." Her expression hardened as she wracked her brain for answers, but found nothing. She sighed sadly. "Who am I? I'm worried. What if what I was supposed to do was really important but I never get back to doing it? Will it really be okay to just leave things as they are?" She took a breath and started singing part of a song. The only part that she could remember of her past.

Somehow, singing that song always took a lot out of her and made her tired, but she always felt calmed after she sang it. As though she had managed to accomplish her task for the moment. So, Nel sang the song as often as she could without wearing herself out completely. However, tonight after singing that song she could barely keep her eyes open, and fell straight into bed.
