I'd prefer the trauma of seeing it to the trauma of taking part in it. I imagine I'd be more or less numb to it after the first couple times, anyway.
Read a terrible book based on a good movie or watch a terrible movie based on a good book?

If by "stuck at home" you mean I'm forced to remain within the confines of my house for a month... then definitely a week off to somewhere else. eek
If I'm allowed to roam around town but must return home every night, then probably the month at home.
