My close friends like them, but other friends think we're sort of crazy. My Dad LOVES Diru but my Mom really doesn't like them - she doesn't mind the softer stuff, though. But it's great to freak out people who live in my dorm hall by putting up pics of bleeding and vomiting Kyo on my door with a sign that says "the love of my life" next to them. hehehe ^_^

Lol my parents don't really care about what kind of music I listen to, their cool like that. But the thing is I know too many people. My "ghetto" friend's think their "faggots." XD And everyone else I know is cool with em. I have a group of friends, and we all play instruments and we all like Dir en grey, we even cover Diru sometimes. Haha I got the name Kaoru cause I'm practically the leader and the one who keeps things in order, and I act like him the most. But I play the drums. My friend is really girly and he gets picked on all the time by someone who we call Die, so we call him Shinya xD And then my other friends short......enough said. xD Then ironically the bass player is cocky like Totchi, but thats all they have in common.

My close circle of friends like them, my Diru "posse" if you will, we call ourselves that sometimes when we feel like dorks. My parents don't really get involved. I keep them kind of in the dark about Dir en grey. I'm Kyo in our group, again, shortness. Also b/c I can dance like him in Raison d'etre so my friends just kept calling me Kyo and it just kind of stuck. Other than that, it's pretty much just named after fave member and it just kind of works out evenly.

I call a friend "Kyokun" because I met her at a convention and she was dressed as a kick-a** "ain't afraid to die" Kyo. I didn't find out her real name until the last day of the con, so for the first two days, I just called her what she looked like.
I get called "Kochan" because my friends think I would make an awesome Kozi cosplayer ><
Other than that, I find calling people the names of some of my favorite people real strange... eek Like I have an American friend with red hair... and I couldn't call her "Die," that'd be too odd for me.
Although I did have a friend in 3rd grade named Kaoru... she used a different kanji, though.

My friends love Diru now. But my parents absolutely hate them. They've listened to the softer stuff (Mushi, Mazohyst of Decadence) and they were like, "Well it's a little odd but I like it." And then they walked in on me watching the vid to obscure and later on agitated screams of maggots... I'm amazed that they made the connection that it was the same band.

My parents don't mind. They aren't really positive, but they accept it, mainly cause they think it's just a phase in my life... I guess...
Many of my friends like it, though the majority of them think it's kinda weird xD

I feel so proud of myself.
I have successfully converted my 71-year-old librarian of a father into a A RAVING LUNATIC OF A FAN.
Well...maybe not that big. (Sweet Jesus, not nearly as big as me.) But he likes their stuff, ALL of it, all the way from Missa to Marrow of a Bone. The last time he came to visit, he pulled up listening to Ryoujoku no Ame.
