Yuuri Matsunaga (not in a costume)

Yuuri glanced exasperatedly in Adrien’s direction as they tried getting away from the spiders. He appreciated Adrien’s optimism and cheeriness most of the time, but this was a little much while there were spiders crawling around, trying to eat them. Or whatever it was they were trying to do.

“I don’t think we’re in a movie right now, Adrien,” Yuuri said in distress, tugging at his boyfriend’s hand as he rambled, trying to lead them through a spider free area. Really, all Yuuri wanted to do was curl up in a ball somewhere and not have to worry about being attacked by spiders, or his flighty boyfriend getting eaten because he was busy talking about snacks.

Michael Lyons-Gallo ( dressed as Obi Wan ) - Picked up a metal stake.

“I’m not hurting you,” Michael snapped when Caspian indicated that his pushing him forward hurt. He was being a little rougher than he could have been, but given the circumstance, he thought he was entirely justified. And it didn’t help that his husband was being a complete and total brat.

“We are not talking right now,” he hissed, ignoring the fact that Caspian had come to a complete stop in front of him, because that didn’t matter. He simply ducked down, wrapped his arms around the backs of Caspian’s thighs, and threw him over his shoulder like a feisty bag of potatoes.

“When we get out of this alive you can yell at me all you want, but until then, can you please help me get us out of here?”

There was a hint of desperation in his voice beyond the annoyance and stress of being attacked by spiders. Luckily, the spiders didn’t give them much trouble, and Michael was able to fend off the one that lunged for him relatively easily, even with Caspian over his shoulder.

Kian Cappello

When the spiders started to appear in the maze he shook his head and tried to keep himself between them and Katrina. The creatures were massive but he'd hoped, unfortunately incorrectly, that they would go after smaller and easier prey. It seemed he looked appetizing enough that one of the things came for him.

"This would be far easier with my Pet here." He snarled, kicking at the spiders head. The action earned him a rather hearty smack across the chest by one of the things legs which knocked the wind out of him for a moment.

Katrina was better at hand to hand though, and had already lost her temper, and for the moment he was willing to let her deal with the things while he got his bearings back.

Lysander Cadwell

This wasn't the way Lysander usually liked having a pretty body pressed up against him but he'd take it. One arm slid around Basil as they both crashed against the maze wall and he tried to catch his breath.

"I've been worse." He grinned though the expression didn't last long as the hissing above their heads caught his attention.

They spit acid. Of course.

Trying to push Basil up and away while also not hurting the other man meant that the spider caught his arm, ripping his shirt which earned a rather loud curse out of him. He was a bit more concerned with that than the stinging cut on his arm. "Basil, don't touch it. Run." The spider smacked into the ground as it fell, giving them a moment to get away and he was going to take it.

Toby Yates (Dressed as elf Kirito) (possesses Stake of +1 Stabbing)

Toby managed to tear off the belt holding on his costume's waist-cloak-thing, and wriggled away quickly. He scrambled to his feet next to Michi while the spider was still distracted with his coat. "Uhm...uh..." he breathed. "We'd...we should run!"

He grabbed her hand, and pulled her to run away from the thing. Along the way he hefted a fist sized rock, figuring more weapons would be good...It wasn't far before a sound of a terrified scream ahead slowed him down. He peaked around the hedge corner they'd just come to, and there was another person! And from the looks of things, it was about to get real nasty.

"Uhm...wait here!" he said in a quick, quiet tone, then dashed forward, lobbing the rock he'd grabbed at the spider. It thunked the thing right by an eye, which clearly upset it a bit, which served to get it to pull its fangs, now dripping with some blood, it looked like, right out of the unfortunate girl.

"That's right, look at me!" he called, and tossed another rock he found nearby. "I hope you can still get up, girl..." He wasn't really sure how exactly he'd deal with this thing, but held his spike ready.

Caspian Lyons-Gallo

He really wasn't hurting him, but that didn't mean that the force was appreciated. Caspian glowered at Michael with twenty years of built up stubbornness and said, "You're being an a*****e, so yes, you're hurting - hey!"

There were times when Caspian appreciated very much his husband's size and strength. The sheer bulk of muscle, the fluidity of his movements, the fact that he was so much larger than Caspian was. It was all a very appealing package, strong and sharp and clear.

This was not one of those times.

The shock of Michael picking him up and tossing him over his shoulder was a frisson up and down his spine. Caspian let out a yelp of frustration, yanking at Michael's shirt, the metal stake in his hand swinging as he tried not to actually smack Michael with it.

"You son of a - put me down, a*****e!"

Basil Whybourne

He felt a peculiar sort of fluttering in his stomach at that grin. It was not entirely unlike how he felt when he was around Arachne, but that was ridiculous, and confusing all at the same time. A touch of red began to spread its way across Basil's cheeks, his lips parting to say -

- what, he didn't know. Something. The arm around his waist felt solid and reassuring, and he didn't want to move, except that he did want to, and he had to, because standing around while there were spiders everywhere was ridiculously stupid.

His leg had started to throb. Basil pushed at Lysander to lever himself up a little, hissing as the burning sensation grew upwards from his ankle. The urging of him to leave had him giving the other a confused look, brows drawing together.

"I'm not leaving you, if that was what you were implying," he said, as he reached out to tug on Lysander's arm, trying to get him away from the spider as Lysander smacked it away. "This way, I think there was a better passageway - ow - "

Lysander Cadwell

Basil was really going to have to stop giving him those cute looks or he was going to end up breaking his promise to be 'good'. "I'm coming, promise..." He kicked at the spider again as he managed to get his feet under him, hissing as the fabric of his shirt brushed against the cut on his arm.

"God are these things everywhere?" He caught Basil's hand, nudging the other man to try to get him to leave the area. "Maybe if we keep going into the maze we can find somewhere that isn't so ... infested."

He was distracted a bit by the other man's 'ow' and looked down. "Are you okay? How bad did it get you?" The spiders spit seemed to be a lot like his magic and if it was Basil's leg had to be hurting. There wasn't any water though to wash it off.

Aloysius Sharp +1 Metal Stake

A new noise began as he pressed himself flat against the hedge, it was a loud skittering and almost the sound of screams from other areas. A large shadow descended from the other side of the hedge, one of the spiders now stood in the path further ahead. It appeared to be paying attention to the screaming that was farther ahead.

Even though every fiber of his body told him to keep away and let the spider eat whoever it was, he knew he had at least a slight chance to do something. The metal stake felt sturdy in his hand as he kept himself pressed against the hedge. Even as he edged ever closer, the spider still took no notice of his actions. It was only when he took his chance and swung at the beast did it make any sort of noise. He wailed on it with the stake, each hit sending the beast reeling away as he hit it repeatedly on its legs and abdomen. Inside he was screaming, hoping that it would not be able to retaliate before he squashed it.

Jordan Riley (in a simple dress) -- taking a metal stake, +1 bonus

The spider closest to them was bearing down on someone else, which was fine with Jordan, really. But they wanted to take the anger and irritation out on something, someone, anything - the spider, huge and monstrous and like someone's distortedly arachnophobic view of a spider, was an easy enough target. They swung and pinioned one of its' legs against the ground with a disgusting little noise, the stake straight through, and again and again and again until it dropped still, even with the spittle burning their shoulders and sizzling at their dress.

Their hair was frizzing, but they didn't really care much about that at the best of times.

Sunny Dyer (in costume as Princess Zelda)

Sunny just ran. She just ran, and kept running; when the spider swung down from the hedge to corner her she managed to vault it, one heel slamming directly into one of those huge eyes on the way down. She ran. She just ran. There was nothing she could do for anyone else.

Kailey O'Carroll (Rebirth Raven)

This was hell in a handbasket.

She'd gone to the last big event at the Botanical Garden, and she'd regretted it then. Why she figured it'd be any different now, she'd never know. But she'd had the night off, and figured, the hell? Why not? She'd mentioned her apparent impending attendance to Jason a week or so prior, and was amused to find he'd be attending as well... with a plus one. Well well. She'd finally get a chance to meet this Nischal she'd heard of a number of times now. When Jason also mentioned they'd be going as DC Comics characters, she'd given in to a bit of a cliche--to her, in her biased view--and had picked up a costume from a local designer based on the newest look of Raven.

And bonus, she could use a rendition of the old design for some of her performances.

She didn't even get a chance to find Jason or Nischal before s**t went bottoms up. The lights went out, and she cussed, already heading towards the looming exit sign, skin prickling as she heard the shatter of glass somewhere--or maybe that was the ringing in her ears after someone's elbow caught her in the temple. She shoved her way through the mess of people, none too pleased and expecting to find a few new bruises on her face and chest when this was done. But that just wouldn't be Destiny City if that was the end of it, now would it? No fresh air greeted them, but a massive spider web. Her skin crawled as she joined others moving through the sticky, clingy substance. Of course she wore a cape. The purple wig she wore was lost, and Kailey yelped as the stuff even dragged down her hair from its bindings, ripping the cape further as she extracted herself from the barrier... with sticky tendrils still attached here and there. Ew.

And then there were the sources of the giant web--giant spiders. One managed to keep up with her as she bolted for the maze, cursing herself for wearing heels one moment, then grateful for her choice when the damn thing knocked her to the ground, resulting in the sharp heel jabbing and piercing the freaking thing before it could bite her. A few more bruises, and scrapes for her troubles, but better than a bite or a missing limb. She scrambled through to the maze, huffing and cussing and when she spotted a guy in a green uniform, she sped up, trying to grab ahold of him. "Jason!"

She was never doing jack in this city again.

Of course the spiders hadn't given up. She jerked back, away from Jason and the guy with him (whom, she'd admit, she barely noticed in all this, pardon her s**t manners) kicking at the spider before it could seem to even register she was there. Of course, that had her annoyingly close to its long, skewer-like legs, and she winced as some of them hit her like baseball bats. At least she wasn't pierced by one yet.

Cassie Finlay (Moon Witch)

First the lights went out. Oh boy. She'd stuck close to Réalta, immensely bitter about how the one night she had off, this happens. A few texts were sent to Alec--Thinking this was a bust...--but with all the commotion she didn't get much of a chance to do anything else beyond tossing her phone into a small clutch and trying to avoid getting her feet stepped on worse than they already were--and whoever elbowed her in the stomach was a jackass!

Then the web. Web? She shrieked as the stuff came into contact with her skin, wriggling and fighting to get out of the grasp of the... the freaking web! She was pretty sure she heard the feline beside her tsking her behaviour, but that was hardly much concern to her as she emerged with bits of web still attached, irritating her skin. But no, no that couldn't be it, could it? She snatched up Réalta when the guardian began to hiss and spit at the giant spider that went after them. Fighting through the equally panicked crowd into the maze, she'd felt the graze of mandibles on her ankles, and when she paused to check, groaned to see trickles of blood along the back of her leg where the creature apparently nicked her a few times.

But even as one of the spiders jumped down into the maze, she spotted a Tinkerbell. More importantly, it was a Bluebell. "Blue!" Réalta scrambled from Cassie's arms, and the girl in turn threw bits of debris from the maze at the creature, trying to duck beneath swipes of its immense legs as she tried to get to Bluebell. "Are you ok?"

Réalta

She might kill whomever was behind this. It was the main thought swirling in the Savannah's mind as she bristled and hissed. People had stepped on her, stepped on her, and though she'd slashed at a few passing feet and ankles and legs, Réalta had remained focus on sticking close to Cassie. The guardian had been curious about the gardens and the event, sneaking in without much difficulty and enjoying the free food that her companion snuck her way. While she still could see reasonably well without the lights, the panic and the discord had her less than amused--and the weird large, hairy thing that she saw scuttling around definitely wasn't another cat.

Surely it wasn't a --- ....yep. Her thought was answered no sooner had it come to mind, right into a massive spider's web that might be befitting the monstrosity she'd seen. Cassie's flailing had earned a few disapproving sounds, even as Réalta herself hissed and clawed at the substance that ripped at her fur and treasures. Her ears had pricked, and she'd spotted one of the large things coming at them before her charge had, yowling at it and slashing at it, putting herself between it and the girl, before she was lifted up and found herself being hauled out towards the maze. Really? Would none of them fight these monsters? Surely some had to have weapons?

Réalta pricked again when she spotted Bluebell, wriggling and squirming in Cassie's arms till she slid free and bolted towards the young girl. The giant spider that got in her way received a few nasty bites and scratches from the feline as she passed, managing to slip around it's attempted flails before she wound herself briefly around Bluebell's legs. "We need to keep moving, or kill these things," she said quickly to the two as Cassie caught up. They could check their conditions later, preferably when they didn't have an enemy right on their tails.

Jericho Cross (RE5 Chris Redfield)

Jericho had arrived just barely before the lights went out, and immediately he was debating the rationale behind even leaving his workroom that day. At least Lace wasn't there, he thought grimly, as he'd shoved his way through the panicked crowd and the massive spider's web--youma? Or something else? He had no answer even when he spotted some, lashing back with fist and steel toe boot when one closest tried to bite him. A few bruises from its legs would be his reward from the night. The fake guns and ammo he wore were at least suitable ammunition to chuck hard at the spider that landed in front of him apparently in a daze, useless as they were otherwise. The outfit had been a throw together at the last minute when he decided it'd be maybe worth it to go out for a bit.

But what were they? Were they youma? If so, he was going to be pissed if this was like the damn hospital all over again, no warnings given where necessary.

---

Cabhan Douglas (Ruvik, Evil Within with bloodied and worn sneakers)

It was probably a bad sign that he was actually entertained by all this. But beneath the fake gore and burn makeup he wore, beneath the dingy white hood, Cabhan was grinning. Sure, it hurt to get elbowed like that and his grungy sneakers hardly provided cover when people slammed down on his toes, and the way the web clung to him was odd, and hurt too to have it ripping at his skin... He didn't mind much though how it tore his clothes and some still stuck to his coat and pants.

Really, he was mostly upset that he couldn't stop to watch the spiders. Mainly due to the fact they wanted to hurt him, and well, interested as he was in them, and their source--were they youma?--Cabhan wasn't much for actually getting ripped apart. No thanks. His reluctance to leave did have him earning a few cuts as one caught up to him and nipped at his legs, a few kicks from his free foot enough to send it away for now. The one that dropped in front of him once he got into the maze offered him a little more time to stop and stare, though not much. That one spat stuff. It burned through the flap of white coat it caught, and Cabhan watched it intently, further curious about what the creature was--and if it was a youma, could agents bring them back out? They were neat. But he tried to move around the spider rather than fighting it. He'd no weapon, after all, and a lot of skin showed in his costume. Hardly suitable to fight, ducking and weaving through the creature's massive legs as he did, hoping it would be distracted by another instead.

Fritz St. James

His nonsensical question had, at least, succeeded in distracting Cordelia - and himself - from the goings on around them. Fritz swung a foot at the nearest spider as it came scuttling towards them, and it shrieked in protest and skidded backwards, a terrible, clattering noise that was going to inevitably give him nightmares.

"She'll be all right," said Fritz, and his voice wavered, only just a little. Cordelia had stumbled back into him, and instinctively, automatically, he lifted a hand to stop her from falling. For the briefest moment, his fingers brushed over her shoulder, Fritz taking a breath, willing himself not to overthink, not to remember why he disliked physical contact, why it was sometimes necessary.

"We'll be fine," he said, and offered Cordelia a smile, then lunged, dragging her out of the way as a spider leapt towards them, sputtering foam that sprayed across the ground. Fritz let out a hiss threw his teeth and let go of Cordelia, moving himself to stand in front of her.

"We'll be fine," he repeated, almost as though to remind himself, rather than her.

Jason McClayre - 8(Green lantern)

They hadn't made it far into the maze before he heard the sound of a very family person calling out to him. He turned his head toward Kailey as she grabbed ahold of his free arm. "You're okay!" He had been so worried for her since he hadn't seen her inside. Part of him had hoped that she had maybe blown off the whole event, but she was here. Running away from spiders like the rest of them.

Her sudden appearance had distracted him though and something jerked him free and suddenly his hand was free once more. He could feel his now exposed skin was agitated by something, but he had more pressing matters. Nischal was currently being attack by one of those nasty spiders. "Like hell-" He tried to get to him, but before he could another spider had joined the fray. It didn't seem to be too interested in him, but it was definitely interested in what his friend had caught.

He wasn't normally one to throw punches, he'd much rather talk his way out of a fight if he could. But these were giant spider monsters, so he struck out and smashed into one of it's many eyes. He was able to distract it for a moment, but perhaps the smell of his friends blood was tantalizing enough that it was still caught off guard by his next couple of hits. It was enough to have it curry back a bit and give him some space to get over to Nischal.

"Brace yourself!" Jason knew this was going to hurt his friend quite a bit, but he didn't have much of a choice. He had to get the thing to dislodge it's fangs from Nischal. He kicked out at the spider's fangs, thankful he had on some pretty thick boots for his costume. It let go and hiss at him, swinging a leg his way. He took ahold of Nischal's shoulder and turned to take the hit in his side. It pushed him back some but in the process it freed his friend a little bit. They weren't exactly out of trouble yet, but at least the creature's fangs weren't in Nischal anymore. Were they poisonous? A million thoughts were running through his head, but they needed to worry about escaping first regardless.

Kapoodles

Bluebell Simmons - 10 (Tinker bell)

Bluebell was trying to do her best to fight the crowd as they made their way into the maze. It hadn't looked like there was another way out of this crazy mess, so she dove in with everyone else. The sound of a familiar voice had her turning around. "Cass!!" She was so very happy to see a familiar face amongst everything crazy that was happening around her. Their little reunion was short lived though as a spider jumped over a hedge and in front of her.

Oh god, it was so creepy looking. It seemed distracted though as some other random person ran past her, it gave her enough time to land a few hits against it's legs, she even managed a swift kick in one of it's huge eyes. The thing was hissing at her and some of the spit made contact with her costume, damaging it worse than it already was.

She wasn't fighting alone anymore though and she looked down at Réalta appeared by their feet as well. "If you could find me an axe or perhaps a shot gun, I would gladly kill them. Alas, I am short on those items at the moment." The only choice they had was to defend themselves as best they could while continuing their run through the maze. At least the spider in front of her seemed to have a very short attention span.

Kaefaux

Lulu Flowers - 3 (Lilo)

Lulu was perhaps too worried about the other people around her, she was trying to avoid bumping into them or the spiders that were around. That's why she was caught off guard by the one that jumped over the hedge at her. She let out a little scream when it's leg knocked her down and she felt it's fangs sink into her ankle. It dragged her back for a moment, the shock of the pain kept her daze before she kicked with her free foot. It his at her and spit agitated her bare skin on her legs. It did free her however, so she scrambled back onto her feet.

This time she braced herself when a leg swung out at her and she managed to stay on her feet. When it lunchged at her again she took a step back and threw a punch out at the creature's face. It recoiled and hissed, but obviously hadn't given up the chase. The smell of her blood was probably enough to hold it's attention. She was really doing her best to fight it off, death by giant spider was not how she wanted to go.

Basil Whybourne

It was a relief not to have him be stubborn. He wasn't a weakling so much as he simply lacked the physical prowess to drag Lysander with him, in spite of all the heavy lifting he tended to do with sound equipment and tech for the theatres he spent his time in.

Besides, he liked Lysander, or was starting to like him, or maybe he just enjoyed his company, which might have amounted to the same thing, Basil wasn't sure. He felt warm fingers slide against his own and accepted the touch of Lysander's hand without conscious thought, glancing around.

"There are a lot of people and a lot of spiders," he said, and winced as he took a step forward. "Maybe if we find wherever they're coming from, we can get rid of them. Or stop them."

He glanced down at his leg, then over at Lysander, Basil's expression a little concerned.

"My leg - " he said, after a moment, "It's fine, I'll be fine. What about your arm?" The expression of concern grew as Basil turned more fully towards him, reaching out with his other hand to try and look. "Do you need a bandage or...does it hurt?"

Grymoire
PostPosted: Tue Oct 24, 2017 8:26 pm

"I think where they're coming from was somewhere back by the building and I doubt we'll be able to get back there." It seemed like the spiders had driven them this direction on purpose somehow, which didn't bode well, and Lysander doubted they'd be able to get back where they'd come from.

He didn't exactly want to drag Basil back toward danger. He was supposed to save people not get them in more trouble.

He didn't pull his arm away from Basil's questing fingers, though he was tempted, just so he didn't have to think about the cut. It wasn't too bad but enough that it was bleeding on his shirt slowly. "It's fine, I've had worse and I don't have to walk on it. Plus no bandages around here." And they didn't really have time to deal with that.

Lysander could still hear the spiders crawling around in the maze with them and everyone else. "You can worry about me later. Lets try to find an arachnid free spot for now?"

Felix Smith Dressed as Thor; has the baddest Mau in all the land

It was really good that Eta seemed to have things in hand, because Felix apparently lost whatever coordination he'd managed the moment his bad-a** Mewlnir was beating the ever-loving s**t out of a spider that had drooled onto his hands and set them to itching like he'd stupidly put them into some poison oak.

Well, I mean...Thor does his best work with Mjolnir...so...I guess this is canon-compliant..... "Go Eta, Go!"

Felix scooped Fluffy the Arachnid-Slayer from the ground and headed in further, dodging more gross legs with weirdly cute paws at the ends. "I didn't know spiders had paws, did you? Weird!"
