The man's head tilted to Vegna's doubt of him being able to summon more guardians, "I can bring as many as I like," he corrected. He was a little irritated by Vegna's audacity but he turned from him to summon another group of guardians for cover while they made their escape. As an added measure for their escape he summoned an A.B.R. to block off the street and their enemies. He ushered Vegna away from the fray and to the city limits.
Once outside of the city he turned to Vegna, "Naomi and the troops are probably picking this city clean looking for that girl. This gives us a premium chance here," he looked over the horizon and the metallic mask that was part of his bodysuit receded beneath his shirt to reveal his handsome features, "This vanguard thing," he apathetically breathed, "I'm more interested in diverse song magic and it's clear that your power is limited," there was no emotion in his voice, "I had original took this assignment under the impression that it was temporary," he turned to Vegna with emotionless yet vivid eyes.

I am the Light of this World
The Beacon of Hope for Everyone

~ Hikari ~

"Please, Melody... Be careful," Hikari pleaded with her. "I don't want to see anything happen to you after helping me so much... so please take care. I promise, I'll be back to make sure that you're all right." She bid farewell to the Teru woman and climbed up the ladder last. Once out into the open, she heard Miko speak and looked up in horror. She soon snapped out of her stupor. Hikari knew one thing: if they didn't do something soon, they would capture her and force her to sing to destroy the Goddess once again. And ultimately the world. "Please..." Hikari whispered the unspoken request to the sisters. She stepped in between them and took a deep breath...

"[Was granme ra gyen hymmnos fhauri ini rre jenje!] [Greatly wishing to protect, I shall craft a song of light to purify my enemies!]" She sang out into the air, her voice ringing across the field, and immediately immobilizing many of the mechanized units. She kept singing, pausing only for an instant for breath. Somehow, she felt as though she were resonating and echoing with many others... and her magic grew more and more powerful with each passing moment she sang...

Vegna

User Image

"I'm well aware you can summon as many as you want... what I mean is they won't last." As if to prove Vegna's words, a few of the units seemed to explode, sending metal shrapnel everywhere, caused by Gannon's relentless attacks. Vegan shrugged, figuring that if the man wanted to try defeating them, he'd stay, but he was quickly lead out of the fight, following the man towards the outskirts of town.

Vegna took a second to breathe, taking in a deep inhale, as he let out a breath, putting a hand on his hip and looking over his shoulder. No one was following... good. Hearing the other, Vegna looked at him, managing a small smirk as he saw the man try and put him down. "You've got guts... You talk to me as if you know what's inside of me, almost like you can read me. I'm a Beta-Type Reyvateil, cloned directly from the Goddess herself. Diverse song magic? You'll never find song magic more unique then my own. And my power is only limited because I've no one to dive into me." He took a step forward towards the man, shaking his head side to side as he stopped a few inches short of him, lowering his gaze a bit.

"I could kill you right now. Instantly. A few words, and you can kiss your sorry a** 'au revoir'... You, on the other hand, need to unsheath your sword, steady your arm and strike, and pray it hits me in a vital point to actually cause serious damage. I could weave words to crush your heart in my magic's grasp within a split second. That's how powerful I am..." Vegna leaned in a few seconds, lowering his voice to a fatal whisper, his words like dripping venom as he spoke them with a malicious smile. "If you... intend on working against the Goddess with me... watch your mouth. My tongue is much sharper a blade then yours... literally."

He made sure, narrowing his eyes when he met the man's gaze, that he understood, before stepping back, looking towards the horizon. The sun was already beginning to lift, bathing the world once more in a pale light, dusk lifting at the edge of the world. "If Naomi is looking for the F.P.D., then we should be looking for the Goddess, don't you think? What use is the girl if her target is still unfound?"

The man's eyelids drooped from lack of interest or fear, "How dull," he said, never making eye contact with Vegna throughout his whole conversation. He even walked away while Vegna was in mid-rant to sit on a rock and stare out in to the horizon. He unfastened his cape and pulled it over his shoulder to examine the damage. When it was clear that stitches simply wouldn't do he sighed heavily and allowed the cloth to fall to the ground, "You owe me new clothes," he said after Vegna had finished his threatening speech.
He lowered his head into his hand, resting his elbow on his knee. He was back on topic, "I've dealt with ß-types before you dolt," he sighed, "And your lack of dives is precisely what I mean by your song magic not being diverse enough," he clarified, "In any case, if you don't progress by either my diving or someone else diving, I will abandon you as dead weight," he looked at Vegna from out of the corner of his eye, "I have experience diving if that eases your timidness at all," he cooed in an attempt to mock Vegna, the most emotion that the man showed thus far.

With a crash, the last of the machines fell to the ground. Gannon beat his wings, hovering in the air as he surveyed the scene. The mystery man and one of the male Reyvateils had escaped. He could go after, but it was probably a good idea to head back to see if Mana and Melody needed any help. He doubted it, but better safe than sorry. Gannon landed softly near Rhaplanca and the others. "Looks like ya held yer own pretty good. Any injuries?" He was fully aware of how only a few moments ago, he had seemingly threatened their very lives, and now was acting like a concerned ally. All part of the act...

Vegna

Vegna's expression twisted with fierce irritation as he watched the man simply ignore him, and request new clothes. His hands balled up into fists as he let his head fall back, letting out an exasperated sigh, before looking at him. "Your lack of a cape won't kill you." He said, his words sharp, as he turned his back to him, looking back at the city. He could still hear the machanical howl of the guardians in the town...

"You have? How interesting." When he'd mentioned having dealt with other Reyvateils, Vegna had simple spoken in a monotonous, bored tone. "And I'm not timid at all. Hell, I lay out my entire Cosmosphere to you, if you manage to get past the first Level. Some weak human like yourself would probably have your puny mind crushed to a gooey puree before my Mind Guardian even spoke." He let out a low chuckle, dark and mocking, before turning to look at the man, shrugging with a 'I'll-Play-Along' sort of smile. "If you want to teeter on the edge of death, then I'll let you dive, by all means. If you end up being trapped in my Cosmosphere forever, or if you die mid-dive, I'll just replace you with some other meaningless entity. I don't care, as long as you keep unlocking magic."

Vegna stepped forward, walking past the man on his rock, before stopping, crossing his arms over his chest and letting out a soft sigh. He was only a tiny bit nervous. Only a bit. The only thing that was worrying him was wether his Cosmosphere was even developped enough to have been able to sustain memories and levels for him to progress through. He shrugged the thought off, looking at the rising sun. "Are you going to fill me in on the situation we're in, or what? Naomi's finding the F.P.D. Third-Gen., the Goddess' position is unknown, the Life Giver Rhemi is dying out, and Rhaplanca is her replacement... what else happened? As for Noaah... We'll need him. I have a little... 'present' I'd like to give him, for when he's a little more developped..."

Rhaplanca's throat was feeling better each passing second. Once she felt well enough to try and sing again she called to Gannon.

User Image "Gannon! Pull back in rank with Ishira. Noaah and I will sing for back up," she offered, "We'll work our way through to Hikari and the others!" She turned to Noaah with confidence matching his own.
User Image "I think we can sync with with that hymme you used the first time we fought the A.B.R.s, will you try?" she smiled as she nodded to reinstate her certainty, "If things get rough I know healing magic so don't worry," she reassured everyone.

[This is more so regarding the fact that the streets are now littered with A.B.R.s from the other troops of the C.P.G. not the wolf guardians Gannon dispatched]

Mana~
User Image

As soon as Hikari began to sing, Mana sprang into action, shooting, slashing, and ripping apart the A.B.R. units one machine at a time.

Mana spied one unit creeping up to attack Hikari and immediately intervened, digging the blade of her weapon into the dome. Sparks flew and cables hung from the hole where she'd dug into. The half-ling pushed away from that unit and let it fall limply to the ground before tacking more.

She glanced at Miko to see how she was faring. She was fighting as well, running a ways away and sniping any enemies coming close to Hikari with her arrows.

Then her attention diverted back to Hikari. So far she seemed to be holding up, but with how she'd been feeling, Mana didn't want to overdue it. Especially if Hikari was unstable. If she kept pushing, Hikari would relapse, and if that happened, likely she would be caught and taken away. "Damn! This is starting to piss me off!" She gritted her teeth as she took a blow from one of the units. They were piling up quickly and she didn't see any end in sight.

Another burst of Hikari's song magic cleared the area for the moment, but a few more enemies took the place of their fallen comrades. "Miko, how are you doing? How does it look over there? Any chance for retreat?" She called over to her sister.

His interest faded again, "Explanations are such a bore," he sighed and shifted to his opposite are in an attempt to get comfortable, "I'm after the current Life Giver, Rhaplanca is of no concern. She cannot replace what she cannot find," he closed his eyes and inhaled the fresh morning air before rising to his feet, his eyes squinting from the rising sun, "I'm going to kill the eternal singer. That's my plan to lure out the Goddess," he shrugged from the simplicity of the mission and walked away.
"Oh and trust me," he called over his shoulder, "You're cosmosphere would pale in comparison to my first," he said grimly. That girl has too many issues... His face twisted into a grimace.

With a glance backwards, the sister shook her head and shouted back. "Not yet. I'm good, let's keep going!" She let a few more arrows fly at enemies around her.

"Yeah, sure..." Gannon nodded a bit at the Reyvateil's orders before completely ignoring them. He began walking in the direction of the Inn, twin blades of ice forming in his hands as he walked. "Gonna have me some fun..." An ark of electricity shot between the blades as he brought then close together. He approached the nearest A.B.R. and rushed forward, jabbing one of his blades deep into the machine. Surprisingly, the blade pierced through the guardian's armor as if it was flesh. A flash of crackling energy and the machine went down. As it fell to the ground, the machine twisted, snapping the frozen blade in half. The Teru paid no attention, reforming the blade as he moved onto the next.
Maybe I shoulda stayed with 'em... Gannon thought as he continued on his path. He was using his magic freely and sooner or later, he was likely to run out. And judging by how tired he was getting, it was probably on the sooner side. Stop complaining. You got a job to do, eh? Soon, he was within sight of the Inn, and close enough to feel the song magic being sung.
Sweat trickled down his forehead as he made his way around the back, trying to remember where Melody's tunnels let out. He had just about arrived when he really started to feel fatigue weighing him down. He had no choice but to abandon his draconic form. Within moments, he was his usual self again, moving as fast as his tired body could go. The sound of singing was very close now... Just around the next corner...

Hikari's song continued to grow in power. Her song echoed through the streets of Ce Palym. The light element from her magic continuously knocking back the A.B.R. units. However, she began to get nervous when she started hearing the echoing of her own song from deep within. It was confusing, but it felt like thousands of others were repeating her same song and sending it back to her. Sure, she was sure that it was the reason that her burst level had gone up so fast singing, but it was getting pretty hard to control. She closed her eyes, and sang even louder, trying to block the voices from her mind. [Was ki ra sonwe hymmnos fhauri mea!] [Concentrating greatly, I sing my song of light!]"

Noaah, still slightly dazed by the events, looked at Rhaplanca, nodding slightly as he felt the strength return to him. He was tired, but he needed to fight on... This was insane, this many guardians and A.B.R.'s couldn't be a good sign. Noaah straightened himself up, looking at the other girl, and then at himself. She was relying on his Song Magic... He couldn't dissapoint her. "Sync with me... Rhaplanca..."

He closed his eyes, lifting his hands up to the sky and trying to feel the same emotions he'd felt that first time he'd sung the Red Song Magic hymme. Slowly, he began to sing in hymmnos:

"[A night sky at a festival]
[Sparks burn in the air]
[Children yell and laugh with summer excitement]
[The fireworks are glowing once more]
"

His hymme was about a childhood he'd never had, a fragment of memory he'd created within himself to give him some semblance of once having been a child, even though he'd never lived through said memory. Maybe Rhaplanca had been a child before...? Perhaps she'd had the luck to go to school, and make childhood friends, and go to a summer festival to see the fireworks and crackers? He opened his eyes, hearing the sizzling of the red orb of magic above his hands, fashioned to look like a firework blast.

"Exec 'Childhood Fireworks ~ Power Peony'"

Noaah looked at Rhaplanca, before he tried to move with her, sending the blast forward at the attacking enemies. The sphere of deep red magic moved erratically, much-like a crazy firework, and hit against many of the enemies, scorching their mettalic armor and burning through their circuitry, before the haywire spell made it's way to the center, and exploded violently. It sent out a wave of glittering red sparks, the loud crackling energy sizzling intensely as it burned through enemies, causing a chain reaction of explosions, which Noaah shielded himself against by throwing his arms up in front of his face, to stop himself from being hit by anything.

Once this was over, he took in a slow breath, his arms lowering and looking at the damage he'd caused. And Vegna called him weak... Tch. Noaah smiled, looking at Rhaplanca with a triumphant smile. "We did it..."

"Uh-oh, I'm running out of arrows. I guess I'm going to have to use my magic," she reasoned. Closing her eyes, she cast a wind spell, knocking over several units. The bushes shook and she whirled around, only to see Gannon. "Hey! Gannon, there you are! You had us all worried," she chided, running up to him. "And from the looks of it, you're injured too." She closed her eyes and cast a spell, the winds surrounding and healing his wounds. As soon as she was finished, she whirled around and began casting once again, knocking down more approaching units. Luckily, Miko noticed that the street was finally beginning to clear up. She almost breathed a sigh of relief, but she knew that they weren't quite done yet.
