(when they leave the inn, do you want to go to the one-on-one subforum or something?)
Aniane stood up and streched, but he was not alert yet. Dream-thoughts ran off him like drops of water off of a turtle's back as he began to drink in his surroundings. Wooden walls, a warped wooden floor devoid of polish-- all of these he expected. A leopard dozing at the door, however, made his skin tighten and his brain race to explain her presence. When he had fallen asleep, Spyse had been in her more humanoid form. Yet it must be her, he decided quickly and hopefully, because a wild leopard would not be sleeping inside so close to possible prey such as himself.
Aniane shuffled to a table that had once been part of the bar. He had brought the chairs down off of this table when he had first come, and now he sat in one of them and rubbed at his face. He was not feeling as energetic as the day before, and even though he was certain he was not sick, he hoped not to have to do much that day. Maybe after he ate he could sleep some more, since they would have to put off leaving until the deer was done draining and being prepared. That gave him another day, although he would go out today to make sure that the deer was in the shade and at a cool enough temperature. But in the mean time, what could he eat now...?

((That's up to you. Maybe one of the other threads open right now, like the "demon mansion" or the "small town" as they travel?))
In a light sleep, the leopard's ears turned towards the mna's movement, but nothing else showed any sign of movement. When he moved to the table, Spyse stood and stretched, a few bones audibly popping, her jaws agap as her tongue rolled out over her bottom teeth, and her massive claws extending. Walking over to sit at the table with her companion, the leopard stood up by placing it's paws on the table, causing it to shift slightly, and in the same movement, became a neko once more and sat down in the other chair. Cracking her neck on both sides, she yawned and smiled softly. Sleep well? Other than a few small creatures, probably rabbits and birds, I didn't hear anything outside last night. Grabbing her hair and pulling it to her left side, slightly turning her head to the right as she finished talking, she began braiding her hair to get it out of her face as it usually ended up hanging down after she changed.

(I thought I already replied. Maybe Gaia ate it-- or it ate my brain! scream hahaha. That's a very good idea)
Aniane spared some amazement for her shapeshifting abilities. Then he yawned and tried to bring his thoughts back to something more practical. "That's good," he mused. "I hope there are still rabbits to hunt as we head off."
He gave her a sudden, sharp look. "I mean, we are leaving together aren't we? Might as well? I can go where ever you are going, and these strange roads will probably take us some place unexpected."

Spyse hadn't thought anything of it when Aniane mentioned leaving together until he seemed to make a big deal out of it. Furrowing her eyebrows in confusion, she turned her head slightly to the side and regarded him from the corner of her eye. I don't see any problem with it.... Everything okay? Then memories of her reason for leaving her home village surfaced and her face took on a grave look. Oh, I understand......... nevermind. Getting up to head behind the bar and find two decent glasses to drink from, her shoulders sagged a bit with the weight of her emotions.

Aniane was not quite convinced that she understood. "I thought that traveling together might be nice," he explained. "I haven't traveled with any one who didn't hire me for something."
He bit his lip as he watched her get glasses, his thoughts turning inwards. "Breakfast," he said suddenly. "We should have breakfast. I'll get it." He stood up and started searching through his pack on the floor. He had some hard tack, jerky, and things like that to eat, and these he spread on the table he had been sitting at.

Shaking off her thoughts of home, Spyse smiled as she found two glasses up near the top shelf, virtually untouched like they'd been overlooked outside of the dirt and cobwebs. Like I said I don't see anything wrong with leaving together. Want me to get the animal down from last night? She'd asked about the buck before, she finished turning around and saw the spread he'd set out. You know there's really no point in me hunting if you're going to provide your own food. Winking as she walked by to show she meant her last statement in jest, Spyse headed outside to clean off the glasses and bring in some water for them. It was rather warm for the morning, she thought, but she enjoyed it nonetheless. The breeze was gentle and her ponytail swayed a bit as she bent over the well to bring up the bucket.

As if devoid of humor, Aniane replied, "The buck should come down late tonight or tomorrow. If we take it down tonight we can be ready to leave by morning."
He sat down at the table as she stepped outside, and when she came back some of the food was packed back up. It was skimpy meal that he had set out for them, but tonight they would have venison.
"Thank you," he said as she came back in with the water. "Won't you join me?"

Looking the food over, Spyse tried to think of a nice way to ask, nut every way she thought just sounded rude so she blurted out her question. Well, what is it? Not to sound mean, but all we ate back home was meat and a few vegatables. We normally wouldn't even cook the meat unless we knew someone from a different race were coming into town. She took a swig of her water and hoped Anaine had taken her question in the context it was given. Besides, she was antsy and ready to start the day, maybe a little romp in the forest, climbing a few trees, the usual.

"I don't know if I can eat meat that hasn't been cooked, and we have so much that I want to cure and save it," he said with a pang of embarrassment. "Like this meat here," he refered to the jerky. "But if you can eat meat raw then you can eat some of the deer now and I can save this. I'll take care of what's left and get us ready to go..."

Relieved he hadn't gotten upset or disgusted at what she'd said, Spyse nodded and made to get herself ready to go as well. Like I said I can eat it cooked, but it's usually by a fire. I don't know what element you use to make it better, but I'll try it. Nothing ventured nothing gained right? She said her piece without missing a beat and headed out to the tree to climb up and tear a piece off. Careful to make sure she didn't get her saliva on any part Aniane may eat, that would just be unsanitary.

Aniane thanked her for her help, and they had soon made quick with their meal. Aniane would start cutting the deer up for storage soon, and they could be ready to go in a few hours whether or not Spyse decided to help him. Aniane was especially quiet while he had work to do, but once they were ready to leave he brightened up again.
"I wonder how far it is to the next village? The area is so lush around here, there must be water somewhere and probably many inhabitants," he said as they stood outside on a dirt road, their backs to the inn.

Spyse had helped Aniane pack and had picked up on how he liked quiet when he worked. Once he began speaking again, however, she stood and squited out towards the town she'd just come from. Well, I just came from that way and they didn't seem to fond of.... people like me. Though they probably wouldn't categorize me with "people".... Her ears flateen not so much out of embarrassment this time, but from anger at how she'd been treated. We could head in one of the directions of the crossroad up there. I'm sure we'll find either a town or someplace to camp. Starting out towars the crossroad, she waited to hear what her new traveling companion thought.
