"The Ruby Cup"

There is a small inn near a well-used crossroads. The rooms may be a little small, but it is also a cheap place because of it's location. It's a little out of the way compared to other inns, but those larger inns fill up so fast that it's really worth the extra few steps to stay at this one-- especially if you don't have a lot of money or you're looking to trade a night's stay for some other service.

It is made of sturdy brick with a wooden roof that's been patched up more than once. There is a clean stable for horses and limited room for carriages. The common room is also a bar selling all kinds of liquor. There are trees around the place, giving it some privacy especially at night, and a couple of bouncers to make sure that things do not go out of hand in the bar. That makes it safe, but still a place to try pickpocketing or other less than illegal things if you're brave or very good at it.

There are a few pretty waitresses, a burly bartender, and the place is always at least half full. A person could try their luck here at cards, enjoy the current entertainment, or just get a (hopefully) peaceful night's rest before continuing their long journey.





Visitors have come and gone; staff has been fired, hired, and rehired. The old owner has died in a tragic accident involving a falling tree.

The inn has lain empty for nearly a month. In that month, the forest seems to have taken over; the trees grow taller, overshadowing the small buildings. Fae play in the yard, tricking the human eye. Inside the rooms fill with dust and there is an abandoned feeling.

But it is still the only inn on this long, dark road. It is the only shelter in a place where people desperately need shelter.

*A cloaked person comes into the inn and sits down at the bar looking around.** Can i plz have a strawberry shake? she said in a quiet voice

A tall man had followed her in, trailing a little boy by the hand. He moved to her side and waited for the Bartender to finish with her.

"Yeah, hang on a minute," he said in a thick country accent, thent old her how much it would cost. He turned around to the 'drinks bar' behind the counter where a blender and the things used in shakes were kept. He dumped strawberries, cream, and ice into the blender. There was a loud whirring sound.

"Excuse me," the man beside her said. "We'd like a room. This is where to get a room, isn't it?"

"Hold your horses," the man grumbled, still getting her shake.

Vexnir noticed that the little boy was looking at him, clinging to Hitori's hand. He looked frightened and michevious at the same time. Not that Vex should expect real trouble from the kid. But hey, who knew? Maybe it the boy was a cleptomaniac.

One of the waitresses, Kanlay, sidled up to him. There weren't that many customers to serve at the moment. "Good afternoon, Vex," she greeted him politely. It was always a little funny to hear such a polite, high class accent and way of speaking from this waitress in a tight, busty dress with a short skirt.

The bartender hands Sortha her drink. Then Sortha pulls out a small silver and purple bag and pays him. She then takes a sip of her shake and then looks at the man and little boy siting next to her. "Hello," she said in a quiet but kind voice. Then she took another sip of her drink looking at the counter feeling like she did not belong there and should go befor they found out what she was but cant cuz this is the best place for her to be right now.

Put down her glass and looks at Ketlin and Hitori. Its nice to meet you two and to tell you the truth im not sure what my name is but u can call me Sortha. Also yes i did just get here but i cant stay long or at the most i can only stay a few days. What about you two did you two just arrive here and are you staying long?

(ya like i said i play D and D im mostly just not used to not rolling die or picking when i get attacked 3nodding )

He chuckled with her, nodding. "Ya...I know wut'cha mean...Well, g'luck with the customers." He nodded, stopping the conversation as he went back into thought. His eyes remained slit the whole time, and they would remain slit. Some might think he were asleep... "...Zzz..."

"No I dont have one yet. why do you ask?" she said in her quiet but kind voice. She then takes off her hood showing her long silver hair, bright blue eyes, pointed ears, and tinted silver silky skin. She smiles at you.
