"Oh yeah pressure. Sorry I guess I would have let you bleed out. Good thing this is practice." Farvardin said hanging her head. She sat back on her heels and looked back up. "Well guess it's your turn. Um... mine is on my right arm." She said pointing with her left to her upper arm.
Posted: Thu Aug 21, 2014 9:11 pm
Shun scoffed lightly at that. He looked over her arm, taking the gauze.
"Right. So I'd apply pressure onto the wound when possible, and clean it out first with alcohol if that's on hand. Otherwise, water will have to do. From there I'd wrap it up nice and tightly... not too much though. If the wound's deeper, I'd have to try stitches. Never cauterized anything so..."
He shrugged lightly, then finished wrapping up her arm.

Farvardin sat patiently while Shun wrapped her imaginary wound. "I'd imagine you'd have to cauterize if there was no other way to keep someone from bleeding out, especially if they lost an arm or leg." She said with a small shudder. She certainly hoped she never lost a limb.
When he was done she looked at the bandage. It was done far more nicely than hers. It was tighter and even looked neater. "Wow. You're so much better at wrapping than I am."

Hazel looked up from her bandaged wrist to the silent man, who was digging through the first aid kit. “Would you like some help with the something in your eye task?” She was willing to help even though the man ignored her when she introduced herself. It was getting quite annoying to keep calling him the Silent Man or the man in her head. The young woman gave a mental shrug, perhaps he is just as shy as she is and does not like to talk very much.
She began to unwrap her wrist; it was a quicker process than wrapping it. Once free of the bandage, she rerolled the brown bandage back into a tight roll. Hazel wondered if she needed to show the instructor that she was proficient in the medical skills assigned. How would they determine proficiency? Would there be a test? Or would they just go out into the field and hope for the best? That was a scary thought; there should be more than one person proficient with first aid in a squad, just in case the Medic became a Titan snack.
Okay why was she thinking these thoughts now? Hazel Snow tried to bring her attention back to the Silent Man and what he was doing. What would happen if he did not accept her aid?

"Trainees. Welcome to your fourth and final week of your survival training. It's been a long, rough road, but you've gotten this far. That's something to be proud of. It's an accomplishment in and of itself."
Ervette crossed her arms over her chest and offered everyone a smile. There was a gleam of pride in her eyes.
"This week is important. I might even consider it the most important - because no matter how well your shelter is built, and no matter how good you are at first aid - if you haven't got food, you haven't got a prayer. If you can't watch for the signs of inclement weather, you haven't got much hope. You've got to be able to find and trap your own food. You've got to be able to be aware of your surroundings at all times."
Ervette inhaled deeply before continuing.
"The first part of this is relatively simple. A lot of it has to do with learning how to handle yourself when various weather hits. There will be a quiz that comes along with this - nothing difficult, and you don't have to pass to graduate this class - but what you do have to do is take the knowledge I've given to you and apply it in the future."
Ervette takes a moment to pass out a small pamphlet to everyone.
"Read through it. Take the quiz in the back. Keep the pamphlet, and use it to brush up on your skills. Your life will depend on it."
The pamphlet is small, but contains information regarding different types of bad weather and your best bets for surviving it.
Quote:
SURVIVING INCLEMENT WEATHER A trainee's guide to surviving poor weather. (It's mostly common sense).
In Hot Weather
•When temperatures reach uncomfortable levels, the most important thing to remember is to stay hydrated. Water, and even water-filled plantlife, can mean the difference between life and death. However, drinking too much can make you ill, so remember that moderation is always the key. •Keeping covered - especially your head - is also important in assisting your body when it attempts to regulate your body temperature. •Keep as cool as you can without sacrificing clothes that keep your skin covered. •If at all possible, travel at night when it's cooler and remain stationary during the day.
In Cold Weather
•Keep your head covered. A large amount of body heat is released through your head, as well as your neck, wrists and ankles. •Avoid overheating and sweating. Wear your clothes as loose as you can, and layer up as much as possible without putting yourself in danger. It's imperative to keep your clothing as dry as you possibly can. •Realize and recognize the signs and symptoms of hypothermia and frostbite. •Build a shelter, and stay as warm as you safely can. If you find yourself stuck in a sudden snowstorm, this is the most important thing you can do to ensure your survival.
In Stormy Weather (specifically lightning)
•Retreat to a group of small trees surrounded by taller trees or find a dry, low area like a depression or ravine. Avoid lone trees and other tall objects as well as rocky outcrops and ledges. •If you are in a clearing, look for a dry, low-lying area such as a valley and become the smallest target possible. Do this by crouching down with your heels touching, head between the knees, and ears covered. Minimize your contact with the ground and do not lie down flat. •If you are in the midst of a lightning storm and you feel the hairs on your arms, neck, legs or head rise - you or an area very near you will be struck by lightning. Take care not to inhale, as the air around you will become super-heated. Rest on the balls of your feet, and do your best to remain as still as possible.

Once you are finished with part one of week four, please proceed immediately to part two of week four, seen below!!
Once everyone finished their quizzes, Ervette ordered the trainees to follow her. They headed towards a big thatch of forest a fair distance away.
"All right. Listen up. This is going to be the hardest part of this week's training. The quiz? The quiz was easy stuff. Weather is just common sense. Gathering food, and knowing which food is edible and which isn't - this is the important stuff. Knowing how to build a trap to catch a rabbit. Knowing how to clean the rabbit. Knowing how to cook on a fire that has little to no smoke so you don't draw the attention of the titans. This stuff is important. The sun rises east to west. Important to know, sure - but if you drink some bad water, you're going die. If you eat some bad berries, you're going to die. I don't want that to happen. That's why you're here."
Ervette crossed her arms over her chest, and took a moment to look at the trainees that stood before her.
"I could sit here all day talking until I'm blue in the face, but I think you'll just have to learn on your own."

Upon receiving the pamphlet, Shun stared down at the reading material and gave a sigh. He went ahead and tried to pick it apart, though he didn't really have a lot of time, and it was frustrating to try and decipher text for him still. If that wasn't bad enough, the quiz was written as well. Unfortunately, he had a bit too much pride to ask for help with this.
He stared at the paper, then went on to write whatever. Or tried to at least. The instructor at least said he didn't need to pass... Sometime later, he'd have to see what was in these pamphlets, in case there was something in them that he didn't really know or couldn't figure out.
The Quiz
1. What is the most important thing to do if you find yourself stuck in a snowstorm? pild a taut
2. What is one thing you should do when you find yourself in a lightning storm? Why do you think that is? flnd mater
3. Should you keep your head covered in hot weather? Why, or why not? mek a fir
4. In hot weather, when is the best time to travel? Why? ztod prob anp rol
5. If a lightning strike is imminent, what should you do? kep marw
When he finished writing that up, he stared at his paper, then shrugged. Good enough, he supposed. That was out of the way now.

As Ervette passed out pamphlets and explained the quiz, Hwan flipped the paper over a few times in his fingers deep in thought. What kinds of climates were out there past the walls? Was it different than life inside or very much the same? Brown eyes scanned the information to absorb it in. Although it didn't seem important, his goal was the Survey Corps. This could save his life out there and so he did his best to take it seriously. Learning how to fire a rifle was optional in his mind, surviving another storm was not. Whatever was waiting out there for him would likely turn his world upside down if he wasn't careful. He took a seat on the ground and began to compare the questions to the answers in the little booklet.
'If only I'd known this earlier.' He thought to himself, his body tensing up as he finished his third read through. His face was grim and focused for once, not at all like his normal energetic and rowdy self. Letting out a breath he'd been holding, he shot a glance in his brother's direction before turning back to his paper with renewed motivation. He sprinkled his answers with his own personal theories and opinions even if the material didn't explicitly state those things.
1. What is the most important thing to do if you find yourself stuck in a snowstorm? Building a shelter to keep warm. Keep as warm as possible but don't do anything risky. It's best to wait it out rather than keep moving in hopes of escaping the storm. 2. What is one thing you should do when you find yourself in a lightning storm? Why do you think that is? Find a safe place to take shelter immediately. Look for places that are low or that have taller landmarks sort of nearby. Avoid being near anything tall. You want to be the smallest thing because lightning goes for tall things. 3. Should you keep your head covered in hot weather? Why, or why not? Yes, it will help your body regulate your temperature. It will also protect skin from burning. 4. In hot weather, when is the best time to travel? Why? Travel by night to avoid the heat from the sun. Daylight hours should be spent remaining still and conserving energy. Be wary traveling in the dark though with hindered vision and avoid doing anything to draw attention to yourself. 5. If a lightning strike is imminent, what should you do? Rest on the balls of the feet and stay still. DO NOT INHALE. Remain as calm as possible.
((OMG I love Shun's quiz. That was the funniest damn thing, Blade Kuroda.))

Turning in my completed quiz! Character name: Ryom Jeong-jae Link to quiz: link
It might have surprised the other trainees to know this was the part Jeong-jae had been looking forward to. First aid had been near the top of his priority list as well but he thought he could improvise some of the other parts of the class once they were out on the road. It wasn't out of insubordination but rather that he felt things would be unpredictable when they were really doing this stuff. Who knew where they would find shelter for the night or if they'd lose their horse or not. Sparring was fun to learn but against the titans it would only be so effective. Things like weather and food would be important no matter what and rely on how they reacted, this was something he could control.
'Good luck Hwan.' Accepting the pamphlets from Ervette, he spared a glance for his brother and hoped he'd do alright on the test. Hwan wasn't stupid but he sometimes had trouble focusing. Jeong knew he wouldn't mess this up but was anxious to get through it quickly so they'd be back to working together and he could guarantee both of their success. It was nerve-wracking to be the brains of the duo and not have a way to take care of his other half.
'You too.' Brown eyes scanned the crowd over the other trainees he was starting to become friends with. Blonde hair loops and bright red hair made him smile and he wondered how well those two would perform. A shy flustered Shakuntala had started to pop up on his radar as well, after hearing what she'd done to his brother plus she'd told him she was aiming for the scouts too. Opening a pamphlet he got to work reading, remembering he also shouldn't let himself down. It was easy material to flip through and written in an easy to understand way. Another point for Ervette! She definitely seemed like a teacher who took good care of her students and wanted them to succeed, even if she'd been a sadist last week with those buckets. Once he'd finished checking over the information, he flipped to the quiz and filled it out. When finished, he walked over to turn it in.
"Enjoy~" Jeong-jae grinned with a wink. Then it was time for scavenging.
1. What is the most important thing to do if you find yourself stuck in a snowstorm? Make or find shelter and stay warm in a safe manner. In a safe manner means to take care to moderate your body heat correctly to avoid sweating and getting your clothes wet. 2. What is one thing you should do when you find yourself in a lightning storm? Why do you think that is? Look for an area of trees and pick the shorter ones to retreat to. A dry low ravine or depression is a good place for shelter too. Lightning will hit the higher points first so try to avoid tall trees or rocky ledges. This is because lightning is attracted to the taller points. If you're in the garrison good luck I have no idea what you'll do. 3. Should you keep your head covered in hot weather? Why, or why not? Yes you should keep your head covered despite the heat. This is to protect you from overheating and help regulate your temperature. 4. In hot weather, when is the best time to travel? Why? Nighttime is cooler so it is best to travel then. Plus titans seem to quiet down at night so that might help too. 5. If a lightning strike is imminent, what should you do? Don't inhale immediately, wait for the strike. Rest on the balls of your feet and try to remain still. Bonus step: watch your life flash before your eyes and hope for no regrets.
((I also greatly enjoyed Shun's quiz. Good work, Blade! XD))

Turning in my completed quiz! Character name: Zinnia Hayes Link to quiz: This post
Zinnia quickly read through the pamphlet twice before beginning her quiz. She was surprised by a lot of things that she'd seen on the pamphlet; her parents hadn't told her anything about those types of weather conditions, and she certainly hadn't learned any survival tips at school, where it was forbidden to discuss leaving the Walls. She figured the only people who might know everything on the pamphlet were those who had lived in the forest villages. She considered each question on her quiz carefully before answering.
The Quiz
1. What is the most important thing to do if you find yourself stuck in a snowstorm?Find shelter. 2. What is one thing you should do when you find yourself in a lightning storm? Why do you think that is? Make yourself small and low to the ground, to make yourself less of a target for lightning strikes. 3. Should you keep your head covered in hot weather? Why, or why not? Yes, to protect yourself from the sun. 4. In hot weather, when is the best time to travel? Why? At night, because it is cooler. 5. If a lightning strike is imminent, what should you do?Hold your breath and stay still.
"First off let's set a snare. Better to do that early." Jeong-jae nodded to his brother once they were sent out to disperse. Ervette hadn't said they couldn't practice together so the twins had paired up to begin. They'd never had to live off the land before but had practiced a few tricks mostly for fun or showing off back home. Jeong-jae regarded himself as pretty good with various types of knots and set ups, thanks to his interest in setting up pranks. It took him a few minutes to fiddle with preparing a trap but once he'd finished the twin set to work helping show Hwan what he'd done. It was a grim thought but Jeong was realizing he needed to make sure his brother knew how to do these things for himself in case they were separated or he died.
"Okay, remember this spot. We'll come back to it in a few minutes." With that the boys were off, gathering a few handfuls of different plants around the area. Jeong-jae couldn't remember if dandelions were edible or not but Hwan seemed to think so and had started grabbing some. Figuring why not give it a try, Jeong added some to his bag as well. When they came across an area of flashy red mushrooms both twins gasped at how cool they looked and grabbed immediately. In the back of his head, a voice questioned if he'd been taught that red mushrooms were poisonous or weren't poisonous. Oh well, Ervette would tell them!
"Hey, water! Here, I'll handle this, you keep looking." Both boys knew the basics of boiling water so Jeong felt it'd be fine for Hwan to keep scavenging while he took care of this. Setting to work, Jeong waved his brother off and began heating the water. It took a few minutes so while he killed time, the twin glanced around in boredom, looking to spot other trainees and see how they were doing. A cluster of mushrooms came into view just a few trees over so he hurried over to shove some in his bag. These were just in case he was wrong about the red ones.
"How'd ya do?" Once Hwan returned, Jeong finished packing up his freshly boiled water and the pair marched happily on over to Ervette to show her their spoils. He was pleased to see a few other trainees finished as well though Shakuntala did not look exactly happy. Wondering what'd happened to her, he nudged Hwan to get his attention and they silently seemed to agree to talk to her after Ervette's response. If she'd let them, that was.

Shakuntala bobbed her head as she took one of the pamphlets and found a location where she could read it thoroughly. It covered a large array of information the girl had not known due to her domestic lifestyle, but there was something that concerned her about what was provided: Yes, it talked of the survival of humans, but what about the horses? Didn't their lives matter too? Her mouth drew to a thin line and, as she got up and returned the pamphlet in favor of a quiz, she was sure to right this wrong and prove the importance of those hoofed quadrupeds.
Quote:
1. What is the most important thing to do if you find yourself stuck in a snowstorm? Keep horse warm. Build fire.
2. What is one thing you should do when you find yourself in a lightning storm? Why do you think that is? Shelter under horse from rain. Horse big enough for at least two.
3. Should you keep your head covered in hot weather? Why, or why not? Yes.
4. In hot weather, when is the best time to travel? Why? On horse during the day because horse sees best during day.
5. If a lightning strike is imminent, what should you do? Get on horse and ride really fast far away.
With that, Shakuntala got up from her seat and slipped the slice of paper toward Ervette. While she knew the quiz wasn't of importance, she felt liked she'd get at least a decent grade on it. Horses were as important as humans too!

Turning in my completed quiz! Character name: Shakuntala Tischendorf. Link to quiz: [x].
"This is complicated." Hwan grumbled as Jeong showed him the knots a few times to make sure he understood them. He didn't fault his brother for trying to teach him something but he was itching to search the woods already. Only once he was able to tie one himself were they allowed to move on. Hwan grabbed his brother's wrist and the two were off on the hunt! He was much more of a doer than a thinker for sure.
The two stared at a pleasant growth of dandelions for a few minutes, trying to remember if they were edible or not. He felt his temper start to rise a little as Jeong's hesitance and simply began to pluck some and shove them in a bag. Weren't all plants edible? That was something he'd always assumed. Thankfully the foolish boy hadn't tested his theory or he likely would not have made it to the military academy.
"Oh, we gotta get some of these." Bright shiny red mushrooms caught his attention instantly and he knelt down to grab a fistful. They were so pretty they almost looked like fruit, surely these had to be good, right? He sniffed at one of them but wasn't able to make out much of a strong scent. Hopefully that was a good sign. Jeong mentioned something about boiling water and Hwan knelt down to scrap together a campfire out of sticks. His brother laughed and shooed him away before he could light it and Hwan scampered off to get to work.
Instantly drawn to anything flashy and vibrant, it was no surprise that he gravitated to a bush full of juicy looking purple berries. He couldn't tell if they were ripe or not and frowned at them while squinting to inspect. Should he sample one and try it? No, Ervette might get mad at him for that. As relaxed as she was, the green haired instructor would not tolerate doing stupid risky things like that. Opting to snap off two branches instead, the tasty looking treats were tucked in his bag. Spiky green leaves stuck out of the ground near the base of the bushes and he squatted down for a closer look. It was too tall to be normal grass and so it was clawed at and yanked on until he managed to rip an onion out of the dirt with a triumphant whoop. Now this he knew! This had to be safe for sure.
"We got two! Kings of the jungleeee-" On his way back to Jeong, he stopped by the spot they'd set the snare and shouted to his brother in victory. In truth, it was kind of sad to see the bunnies that way but this would be his reality in a few years. He was going to have to harden his heart a little and get used to the grander food chain of the world. Hopefully they'd be able to take titans out of it somehow. Taking down the rabbits, he brought them back to the small camp where Jeong sat and they gathered up their goods. It was time to see Ervette.
"What do you think, Ervette? Pretty, right?" The mushrooms were truly the jewels of their collection and displayed first in an attempt to impress.

Shakuntala guided her eyes upward toward the intertwined canopy of trees above and let out a sigh. It seems this part of the week was another solitary task and, while she thought gathering food would've come easier when everyone was together aiding each other, that wouldn't always be the case when out in the wilds. While they fought with each other, one's hunger was something they had to satiate themselves. Casting her glance to other trainees descending into the thickets to rustle up some grub, Shakuntala became one of them, and headed out into the bush.
A short distance from where she had made her first step, something made a quick dash through underbrush and bounded in the direction of a tree. Shakuntala gave a small yip in surprise before trekking further and noticing a familiar pair of appendages twitching cautiously in her direction. Rabbit ears.Another step caused the small mammals to bound deeper into the forest and disappear out of sight altogether. The girl let out a sigh. If they were spooked so easily, there was unlikely chance she'd catch them. Pinching her chin between forefinger and thumb, Shakuntala thought long and hard of a possible way to snare them, and then that's when the moment struck.
A snare! She snapped her fingers at the sudden epiphany. Now let's see...
Fashioning a number of crude looking traps with branches, Shakuntala wiped her brow and nodded her head with a smile. That looks good!
Leaving the snares to their lonesome, the copper-skinned trainee turned the other way to scavenge while she waited for any of the rabbits to be caught within her traps. Unfortunately, the forest wasn't a high-class tavern that served delicious meals to its patrons. Some work had to go into it and, unless she got down and dirty, there was no way she'd fill her stomach. The first item that piqued her interest was a bushel of flowers with wide leaves. Grabbing the plant by its base, she pulled, and tilted her head at it.
It looked like something a horse would snack on. Dandelions?she wondered as she stuffed it into her sack. It looked like the infamous weed, but she was still unsure. Whether they were edible or not was another matter altogether.
Near the flowers was a bush bursting with bright, ripe red berries. Brushing her hand onto it, a few of the morsels dropped off. Plucking them off the ground, Shakuntala turned one about in her hand curiously. There was obviously some dangers when it came to berries as she had read, so she dare not pop one in her mouth to test. Instead, like the flowers, they were given a spot in her sack.
As she walked further into the forest, she tripped upon a stray root, and tumbled into a collection of ferns. Grunting in pain from her fall, Shakuntala weakly peeled an eye open before pushing herself up. Turning to see what had tripped it, that's when she noticed that she had uprooted the plant that did. Bending over to it, she pulled the root fully out of the dirt, and examined it.
Look like a 'tato...she thought. Guess I can eat this? Maybe?
Whether she could or not would be decided later, into her sack it went. Figuring she had collected enough naturally grown foods, Shakuntala rose to standing and went to check on her snares. Much to her chagrin, it seemed she had caught a rabbit. Two, in fact. As she approached both traps, the copper-skinned girl felt her eyes fill with tears. She covered her mouth and suppressed a sob.
I feel like a murderer...
"I-I'm so, so... sorry..." she apologized to the two rodents as she pulled their bodies from the snags. Both hung limply in her hand, already having passed from their struggle. Wiping her tear-filled eyes on the sleeve of her jacket, she pushed the two rabbits into her sack and turned on her heel, returning to Ervette. She could mourn her actions lately, it was time to be evaluated.

Since he had finished with the quiz, Shun went on to the next bit, which involved finding food. That was something he was familiar with... in the city. Out in the wilds, that wasn't so much of the case. He set out, looking for anything that might be potentially edible.
The first thing he picked was a few purple flowers. Flowers... were they edible? He had absolutely no clue. They didn't sound like they'd be particularly tasty, but he grabbed them anyway. If they were safe to eat, he couldn't really be picky about what to live off of.
He eventually found a bunch of red mushrooms. These, he was a little more leery of. Mushrooms could easily be poisonous. But if they were safe, then he'd have a small meal out of these. Shun went ahead and grabbed those as well. He'd find out if they're safe or not.
Crouching down a little later, he found something that looked like some sort of vegetable. It looked kind of like garlic. He picked it out of the ground. If it was garlic, then it was indeed safe to eat.
From there, he found two different types of berries. One was purple and the other was red. They appeared to be edible and possibly even tasty. However, he knew better than to try and sample them right now. As with the mushrooms, they could be hazardous. And as it was, he has absolutely no idea how to tell the difference between what was deadly and what was safe for consumption.
Now that he had a fair collection of potentially edible things, he went back to Ervette and held them out quietly for her to examine.

Zinnia wasn't at all sure what she was looking for, so she tried to find a bit of everything. She spotted a bush bearing bright red berries; they looked edible. She picked a handful and added them to her gathering bag before moving on. She next came across some mushrooms growing on a rotting log. She remembered eating mushroom soup back at home, so she picked some of them as well. She kept going until she spotted some flowers that she believed were dandelions. She remembered someone mentioning dandelion salad at one point or another, so she picked a few of them. Even if they weren't edible, at least they were pretty; she could appreciate dandelions, among the most stubborn of the weeds. It brought back memories of toiling with her mother in the garden, one of the few places she was happy at home...
She shook off the thought quickly. She remembered Ervette mentioning trapping rabbits, and while she didn't think they were expected to catch meat in the short time they were given to gather food, she did think that giving fishing a try couldn't hurt. She'd never gone fishing before, but she knew the basic idea. With a silent apology to the tree, Zin snapped off a young branch and stripped it of its leaves. She also tore off a few strips of bark and kept them in her pocket. She snapped off the tip of her branch and used her pocket knife to whittle it. Luckily, the bark was still soft, and within a minute she had a passable makeshift hook. Using the strips of bark as a line, she created the hokey-est fishing pole she had ever seen. She doubted it would work, but she'd gone that far and decided she had to at least give it a try.
She wandered back to the rotted tree stump where she'd found the mushrooms. If she knew one thing about the wild, it was that she knew where bugs hid. She kicked the moist log open and, sure enough, thousands of ants scrambled away from the light. She spotted her true target, a few fat grubs. She snatched them up before they could escape. Following her ears, she soon came across a slow-moving river. Hopefully there would be fish there. She whispered an apology to the first grub before spearing it on her hook and tossing it into the water. Within seconds, she felt a sharp tug on the line. Startled, she pulled it back up-- and saw an empty hook. There were ravenous fish in the river, but she'd have to act quicker if she hoped to catch one. Her hook wasn't sharp enough to pierce their lip with only a bite. She speared a second grub, and a third, but came back empty each time. She considered herself lucky that her hook hadn't been swallowed and the line hadn't broken yet, but if she didn't catch a fish soon, she knew that she would run out of time.
On the fourth grub, she jerked her pole up sharply the moment she felt the slightest tension. At last, a silver fish sparkled in the sunlight, attached to the end of the line. A wide grin spread across her face and she quickly brought it to the shore, where it flopped and struggled. Her smile quickly turned to an expression of horror. Killing insects was hard on her, let alone an invertebrate. But wouldn't Ervette be impressed? If she really were out in the wild and starving, this fish would provide more calories than the rest of the things she'd gathered put together. She grit her teeth and seized the fish before it could flop back into the water. She slit where she guessed its throat was with her knife and watched with a potent mixture of horror and guilt as its flopping grew weaker and weaker until it finally stopped.
She held back her tears as she added the fish to her sack. She was almost out of time, so she grabbed the next thing she saw-- small purple flowers. She doubted they were edible, but killing the fish had proved exhausting, and she questioned whether it was worth it at all.
By the time she'd gotten back to Ervette, her attitude had improved somewhat, and she showed the contents of her bag hopefully.
