Juan comes across as a rather cold and aloof male. Never one to be seen 'goofing off' or otherwise engaged in foolery, it is said to be a rare day that he even smiles.

No one knows what happened in the grey leopard's past, though a few things are very clear merely by his mannerisms and habits. He was once a warrior of great renown, unsurpassed both in the ring and on the battlefield. Something happened, something that utterly destroyed the leopard, though he has never spoke of it. It tore him from his pride, broke his spirit and sent him out into the roguelands. His time as a rogue finished what his training had begun, honing him into a silent, deadly warrior, one who showed little passion for the plight of others. The only thing that kept him on the right path was his devotion to his own Creed, a creed of honor and justice, of protecting the weak and vanquishing the damned. He came to possess the reputation of a stone cold killer, and yet his honor and calm, quiet manners make him all the more mysterious.
One day he turned up at the entrance of the Mazunguko's cave and requested a position within their ranks. No one has ever found out why he has suddenly decided to leave the life of a rogue behind and find a new pride to live among, but those few who have tried to get close to the male have been politely but unconditionally turned away. He won his present rank the very first time he fought in front of the pride members and has never lost a battle to date.

Calm and soft-spoken he is a level-headed male. A warrior from his original pride he has seen the worst that battle can produce, and the best. From the blood and death to the loyalty and comradeship of the battlefield. Though he is not of old age, his soul has aged far more than those who would call him peer, for his life has been the path of the warrior since cubhood. Never the less he is the type to be helpful and lend a paw when needed, such as his strength to defend those less able, or helping a lost cub to be reunited with its family.

Arancion and his mate grew up in a Pard of leopards that were a militarist colony, with emphasis on military fitness which began virtually at birth. Shortly after birth, a mother would 'bathe' her cub in the fast moving river next to the Pard's territory to see whether the cub was strong. If the cub survived it was brought before the Aelaes Tylor (Elder's Council) by the cub's father. The Aelaes Tylor then decided whether it was to be reared or not. If they considered it weak, or if it showed any other color on its main pelt but black, it was left for the scavengers. If not it became part of the Pard.
The Pard tolerated nothing but obedience, loyalty, and service. Every member had a role, decided for it by they time they were juvenile age, and a mate chosen for them by adolescence. Rebellion was dealt with swiftly, by death. Leaving was considered treason, and the Pard would hunt you down. No matter how long, or how far you ran. To live once leaving, you must be stronger, smarter, and swifter then they.
Arancion has a male lover with whom he wishes to settle down and live a peaceful life. They are running to escape the prejudice found in their home pride against ss couples.

Pretty much a cross between Nahasi and Juan. A kind kid, hard working and mindful of his elders, somewhat idolises Juan as a cub as the guy is just so stoic and unreadable. Dearly loves his family and is content in the pride. Wants to be useful so is a Hunter (He doesn't see why they would need more guards with Juan there), and has no great ambition beyond being a provider and protector for his family and the pride at large. He's not lazy, just content with his life and can't see any reason to go be an Missionary etc.

Shes basically a total punk, gets into fights constantly, slags everyone off, cocky and overly confident. Its not that she is all 'girl power' she's just 'me power'. She thinks she can take anyone on and generally, she hasn't been proven wrong. Though clearly she has not always come out unscathed, she has done pretty well for herself and has earned the right to be prideful.
