User ImageBashira was walking steadily forward without moving too fast. The sky was turning brilliant gold and orange colors as the sun began to recede from it. For once in a long time, she felt relatively calm. She felt a serenity that was near peace. Pausing a moment to glance behind her, she smiled as she saw her cubs trailing after her. Surprisingly, Bashira could honestly say that they were a pleasant addition to her life despite the fear that she had felt. They were a new reason that drove her.

She wasn't entirely confidant with regards to where they were all going, but she refused to stop now. With cubs with her, she felt the need to find the place where they needed to be more than ever. Turning to Segurue she inquired, "Let's travel a bit further and then let's stop for the night." Even though they tried to cover as much ground as they could during the day, Bashira didn't feel good about her cubs traveling at night, so she usually stopped them as the sky was fading into darkness. Everyday she wondered if there were getting any closer, she only hoped they were going the right way.

User ImageSahira was beginning to get tired and a bit grouchy. Her small paws were getting sore and she was hungry at this point. She never knew why they walked all the time, and she never asked where they were going. As far back as she could remember they had walked, traveling distances and seeing sights that the small girl would always remember. Nevertheless, she couldn't complain.

She loved her life, roaming with her mother, Segurue, and her brothers and sisters. The only thing that Sahira worried about was where they were going next. When her mother spoke to Segurue, she became excited at the notion of stopping. When they stopped, she would have the chance to play with her siblings and explore the area. So, with renewed energy, she bound up to walk by her mother.

Haiba trotted along happily, glancing around him and taking in the sights. His paws ached from the constant traveling, but he didn't mind too much. He was with his family and he knew they always stopped at night, and by morning his paws weren't hurting, so why should he worry about the present discomfort? It would only go away in a few hours.

Tilting his head, Haiba tried see around his mother to see if he could spot their destination. He had no idea where they were going, so he didn't really know what he was looking for, but he could at least pretend. He got bored of that very quickly, though, and quickened his pace to run up next to his sister, Sahira. She looked tired - they all were tired, of course - but he couldn't help his impish desire to snap at her ear playfully. After his invite to play, he dashed around to the other side of their mother, peering between her silver legs to her opposite side, a sneaky grin on his face. Walking was nice, but it was fun to play at the same time.

User ImageNhlakanipho was less happy than his brother about his paws hurting and getting grouchy about it as well. His legs were hurting and his tail hurt. He just hurt all over! "Mom! Can we stop, please?" He asked, whining a bit. He was tired and he was getting hungry and he just didn't want to move anymore! He wanted to eat and sleep. His dark eyes looked up to their mother as he tried to catch up to her as well, whimpering.

Looking to Haiba he rolled his eyes at his playfulness and snorted. Where did he get the energy to do that? "I wanna eat.. and sleep! Please mom, pleeeeeaseeee," his voice broke into an obnoxious whine that he knew grated on everyone's nerves, but he honestly didn't care. He hurt!

Yes, if he was uncomfortable, so was everyone else. Thus was his nature. Whining again, the silver boy just stopped and flopped down on his side, panting hard. It was bad enough they were walking so far, but it had been so hot today, too! It was just so draining on the cub! Maybe he could go swimming soon. Swimming sounded so nice. The cold water all around him, soothing the pants that were currently kicking up dirt in front of his nose and mouth. Bleh, it was just very uncomfortable.

User Image It was just a few ways, but he was in charge of the back of the cubs. Keeping a steady and alert pace. Everything seemed like a danger to him now that children were involved but likewise. His loyalty to the cheetahess remained stilled, and the children were priority because they were hers of course. "As you wish." He simply said, and with remaining there afterwards. "Who is hunting." A direction more than a question, he was slowly becoming more talkative then before but even then, it was short lived. Bland, submissive and strong all at once.. perfect to care for the cubs and even entertain them to some level.

But it didn't take him long to sense that they have been watched since they got further in to the higher grassed area. So he went behind the cubs that lagged behind and pushed them closer to Bashira. He respected her strength and as much as he would have liked for them both to stay, someone had to hunt right. He kept a very strong eye out, lifting his head above the grass and standing to his height to see any moments in the grass.. Maybe a passing rogue.. They would have a hard time gaining on these two ruthless cheetahs thats for sure. Especially Segurue. She too must have sensed something was in the air, but likewise he was always careful.

User Image And he was right. Not too far was the hidden tree resistance. Emi's group that had been assembling for quite some time now. Her messengers quickly informed her of the family and immediately she told them not to panic, but as per usual, hunt for the new arrivals... Anyone who came across them, they were humbled and with influences of the gypsies and mixed cultures of the creatures in the group. Thus branched sensibility and hospitality. They hid themselves well.. for the moment and waited for the perfect moment to introduce themselves. For now, they waited idly for the news of other and more important situations.

Zuna had a tough skin, sometimes she even felt emotionally detached from others. She wouldn't show how she was really feeling or really show any kind of emotion. She was a very stoic cub, at least on the outside; she felt like she had an image to keep up, even at such a young age. Zuna was more realistic then the rest of her family. She could whine like her brothers and sisters but she sucked it up because she knew that it would do no good. She felt like she had too for some reason.

Zuna sighed at her brothers incessant whining, she saw the look of exhaustion on some of her other siblings. She too felt tired and hungry but she wasn't going to sit there and complain; she knew that wouldn't fix the current situation. She would much rather focus on something else, something more productive. Her mother had just said they were going to stop soon and Nhlakanipho was still whining she just wanted to turn around and tell him to shut up, but she quickly shook off that idea and kept her calm waiting till they rest for the night.

"I will hunt", she answered the young male that continued to stay by her side. She was used to this sort of lifestyle and still had energy left over from their travels. Bashira glanced at her children as they began to play, making sure that they stayed nearby. "Stay close to me you two," she spoke to them with no room for options in her voice. Bashira knew the they were all perfectly fine with both her and Segurue caring for them. Nevertheless, there was still a powerful fear inside of her of losing her children by one means or another. The cheetah was brought out of her thoughts at the voice of her young son Nhlakanipho. "I know you're tired and hungry darling, but we still have a little ways to go. When we reach a safe place we will stop and you can eat and sleep as much as you want," Bashira spoke softly, smiling down at him.

Bashira kept her eyes wide open and they constantly moved between glancing at each of her cubs and also on the surrounding environment. She'd been feeling as exclaim though their were being followed and she hoped that whoever was out there stayed where they were and didn't want anything from them. Time alone had taught Bashira to grow highly aware in the oncoming darkness. To many things lurked where she couldn't see for her to relax while she traveled with her children. Bashira continued to hoped that they reached their destination soon.

Sahira was staring out ahead of them when her brother nipped at her ear. She snapped her head around to look at he ran off and she instantly took off after him. Running beneath her mother and nearly tripping her in the process, she pounced on Haiba. They both landed on the ground with a thud and began to roll around wrestling. Sahira nipped and batted at her brother, all the while everyone began to gradually pass them by. Sahira leapt up when she felt Segurue nudging them on, however, making sure that they didn't lag behind. The small girl ran back to her other siblings deciding that she didn't want to being left out in the lands, not that either her mother nor Segurue would let that happen.

Haiba grinned as Sahira gave chase, and before he knew it they were rolling around in the dirt. He ended up on his back and pawed at his sisters chest to try to throw her off, trying to n** her back as she landed hits on his cheek and his ears. He didn't notice the rest of his family passing him by and only realized they were getting left behind when Segurue's familiar white face nudged his sister off him. He rolled to his feet with a little sigh. Darn...that had been fun, too.

"Yes, mom," he said quietly, his ears and tail drooping as he was lightly scolded. He trotted slowly to catch up with the rest of his family, trailing after Sahira but stopping beside Zuna. His serious sister was always fun to play with because she got so upset so quickly. She made funny faces when she was angry.

"Hey Zuna, wanna carry me?" he asked, hopping up to put his front paws on her back, letting his hind legs still carry him along. He rested most of his weight on his sister, a sneaky grin on his face. 'I promise to think light thoughts. Like a feather! Then I won't weigh anything and we can talk while I rest a little. You're big and strong, right?"

User ImageEven a game looked not so promising here. If they were gunna stop, it would be a hard place to really find food. He shook his head to rid himself of the negative thoughts about it and replaced it with determination. When the cubs started to play, it was apparent that he was looking elsewhere. "Bashira." He started their name, as he looked to her when she addressed him, and he too could see the unsettlement upon her face. It wasn't only him, and so he opt to take care of the cubs.

Giving her a nod, and looked down to do a headcount again right before the settlement. "Maybe that singled tree. Shade enough for them.." And beyond that, yards away was the forest dwelling cheetahs.. Whom indeed kept somewhat of an eye on them, but a lazed eye. They would soon go on their hunt as well..

Very much like him, he kept in toe with Zuna, without even realizing it and again making note of the whispers of the grass.. Once the cubs were mostly rangled in to one bundle, he made it a point stop a little ways and left them to go further on their own. Leaving them to do a perimeter check around the tree's surroundings. This was done quickly, as though he disappeared without a trace within the tall grass..

He would come back to Bashira as soon as he cleared the area..

Bashira watched briefly as Segurue disappeared to survey the surrounding area. She was eternally grateful for his constant presence and his quiet yet protective nature. Gazing up to see what Segurue had been referring to, she spotted the large tree that had bushy overhanging branches. It would be good for both shade and a little protection from prying eyes. Bashira steadily made her way to the tree, managing to keep all the cubs together and near her at the same time. Even though she still had the strong feeling that their group was being watched, she didn't see anyone around, so she chalked the feeling up to the night sky and her growing fatigue. When Bashira reached the tree, she turned to her cubs and said, "We're going to stop here for the night alright?" She was sure that they'd be pleased not having to walk any longer. Settling against the trunk of the tree they sat beneath, Bashira fed the cubs and waited for Segurue to return from the darkness.

"Yay!," Sahira cheered when their mother told them that they were stopping by a large tree for the night. Although she loved seeing the world as they traveled, her small legs could only take so much pressure. She looked around to her siblings and honed in on one to play with. However, she stopped and realized that Segurue was still no longer with their group. She wondered where he had gone off to. Segurue was like a very big brother or a young uncle to her and the others. So she tried to look out for him just as he cared for them.

Haiba trudged along after being told not to play, his mind still running a mile a minute. What could he do to entertain himself? Play with the ants in the dirt? No, he might get left behind...maybe make shapes out of the clouds in the sky? No, he'd probably bump into someone. Ooh, perhaps count how many steps he took before he reached a certain destination. That sounded good!

Lifting his head, he picked out a random tree off in the distance and started to count. He hadn't even reached ten before his mother spoke up and his ears pricked forward in excitement. They were stopping? Thank goodness!

"Yay! I hate walking," he moaned as he flopped onto the dirt beside his mother and his siblings. Even though he had been ready to play a moment ago, he now felt like all his energy had been sucked out of him. "How many more days do we have to walk? It's so boring!" he said with a sigh as he let his tail flick Sahira in the face a few times to make her pounce.

The young silver cub had been silent for most of the day's journey. Never very loud at the best of times she had been nick-named Ghost by her siblings. Never one to cause a fuss she rarely spoke except to answer her mother or siblings, and while she played with her family happily enough, she was by far the quietest cub of the bunch. Even her footsteps were so light and delicate that they were barely heard.

Having been walking along at the back of the small clan of cheetahs, followed by their adopted uncle, it was Kamaria who stopped by Nhlakanipho when he flopped onto his side, her shy, soft-spoken voice almost a whisper as she pleaded with him. "Please come 'Nipho." Worried eyes watcher her brother until Segurue came and took over. She always worried for her siblings... Nhlakanipho seemed to forever be hurt or tired or hungry, Sahira and Haiba constantly played and caused Kamaria to fear that a predator would come along and pluck them off when they strayed too far from their mother's side. Kamaria even worried for Zuna, who was way too serious and took too much responsibility, making the silver female fear she was being too grown-up. After all, they were cubs and they should have fun before they got too old for it...

Sighing softly in relief as it was announced they were stopping for the day, Kamaria followed after her siblings to settle down at the base of the tree, more than happy to rest before dinner.
