(your making him feel bad about himself XD)
"Of course you won't, because you know this castle like the back of your hand don't you?" Cyrith teased her as she walked away, "You know where all the guards are positioned and know the streets well enough that you won't loose yourself. And of course you have spare clothing stored away so that no one out there will recognize you."

Amanae's measured pace did not falter. Aside from the extra clothes, which she in fact had packed, he made several good points; that said, she would have been willing to spend her entire time there stuck in the castle if it meant avoiding Cyrith and his assistance.

It was odd, the last thing the Prince wanted was to be trapped with this girl, but as she turned him down time after time, he suddenly felt as though there was something he needed to prove, "Oh come on Princess, let me take you out, we'll call it an apology for earlier."

Amanae finally turned, gritting her teeth to keep from shouting. When she spoke it was in the quiet, tight voice of someone who is trying very hard to keep themselves under control. "Please, Your Highness, you have made it very clear that you have no interest whatsoever in me, and I hope that I have not failed to make my feelings clear as well. I have no desire to be here, I have no desire to get married, period, and certainly I have no desire to 'go out' with a Prince who has f--" she cut herself off; she had almost said 'frightened', and that was the last thing she wanted to admit, especially to him. "Upset me twice in a period of less than an hour."

"It's all right." She held him gently, and picked him up as she stood slowly. She sat down on the bed and held him against her chest pressing his head against her shoulder. "You didn't know... I should have stepped in and took it from you." She kissed his forehead and rubbed the side of his sweet little face with he thumb.
She was far to much of a maternal figure to not act this way to someone who appeared to only be five years old, even if in her mind she know he was more than twice her age. "You've been just fine, so don't worry." She sighed. "I... need sleep. I don't want to pass out later when I'm doing something important right?" She smiled thinking about falling asleep during a fitting or something. Henna knew it was bad to strain her body so much but she had so much to do she really had no choice.

A look of confusion appeared on his face as she condemned him, "Well I certainly did not mean to upset you, I would not think that someone who could take care of themselves the way you do would be deterred by much."

Amanae's cheeks turned bright pink, and her face slipped back into its pleasant, composed mask. His observation had been right on the mark; normally she didn't let the actions of others bother her. "My apologies. I did not mean what I said." A lie, but a necessary one. "I have had a long day, and I believe the festivities have robbed me of what little energy I had. Please be so kind as to excuse me?" She met his eyes again, but the direct moonlight kept her mind working quickly enough that she only felt dizzy for a second.

"A beautiful lie, but I shall take it for now. If you change your mind, I shall be in the banquet hall," The Prince spoke before walking away, breaking the connection of their eyes.

Amanae let out all the air in her lungs at once, feeling disproportionately relieved. Looking into his eyes had been a good idea, nerve-wracking as it had been; from now on, he would hopefully believe that she was automatically immune to his ability. If she ever ran into him again, that was. She would be perfectly happy avoiding him for the rest of her visit. Feeling quite pleased with herself, she started back toward her room.

Alexander didn't like it when Henna picked him up; it made him feel weak and helpless, but he would have to put up with it. Alexander could hear Henna's heart from where she was holding him and it was soothing like when Alexander’s mother held him. Henna was being so kind to Alexander, he wanted to help her anyway possible and if being a child for her helped Henna, Alexander wouldn't complain; even if the treatment made him feel weak.
"Okay...I can try to help in the morning; my headache will be gone by then."
Alexander guessed she wouldn't let him sleep by the fire, she would probably insist he sleep on the bed, but hopefully not with her; sharing a bed was pretty weird for Alexander, but if that was the case Alexander would sleep at the bottom edge with a pillow. The only thing he would have to worry about was if Henna's feet smelled which Alexander was sure they wouldn't. Alexander would wait for Henna to be over with the whole cuddling thing; pushing someone was rude despite how weird it was. There were worse situations, but Alexander hoped Henna understood he needed a little space while he slept.

Henna sighed softly and led him go, setting him on the bed. "Sorry." She said looking down at her bare toes. She had just remembered that he was not a child, no matter how much he appeared to be one. "I... I'm sorry." She pulled her knees up and hugged them tightly. It's wrong of me to treat you this way, please object next time I treat you like a child. I'll try to do better." She forced a smile and looked over at him. "You don't have to work if your not feeling up to it. I hope you feel better soon." She pulled at the blanket and crawled under it, snuggling deep under the blankets.
"You should get some sleep it will help you feel better faster." She yawned and held a pillow against her chest hugging it and closing her eyes. She curled up taking up only a small fraction of bed and only two of the countless pillows that were piled against the head board

"It's okay...You comfort me and that's fine. Just don't go overboared."
Alexander needed to think for a moment, things were becoming way too confusing and the headache wasn't helping much at all. Alexander wanted to leave the castle one day, but Henna seemed attached to him and he couldn't just leave her one day to pursue his own dreams. Alexander needed to think about the whole situation and what better way than to sleep; dreams sometimes held most of the answers to life's problems.
Alexander crawled up the bed and grabbed a pillow from the pile. Like Henna, Alexander liked a spare pillow to keep his chest warm and to just hold close since he always seemed cold at night, so Alexander took another pillow from the pile and started to crawl to the end of the bed to sleep. Alexander used the excess blanket on the side of the bed to cover himself. Placing one pillow below his head and the other against his chest, he started to fall asleep. The pillow was however big enough to cover his whole body, meaning the pillow was helping warm his feet at the same time.
As Alexander went into the realm of dreams, instead he used his mind to think of the situation at hand that involved his future; Henna. She seemed attached to him, maybe just for his child appearance, but Henna was indeed attached to him. Alexander considered first what Henna would benefit from having Alexander around for a long time; Dirt Bloods aged physically, so Alexander could still be around to look after her in Henna's old age and maybe bring in money to keep her retirement nice. Alexander was going to die sometime in Henna's sixties he believed since Tou lived to be at least one-hundred year old. Henna could always use an assistant to help her with her job as the Keeper of the Wardrobe. Life outside the castle would likely be hard for Alexander, but it would give him a chance to find out what happened to his mother and maybe return to his homeland for a time. Alexander got the idea to maybe take Henna with him, maybe Grant too. For a fee, Tou let any tourists into the Kingdom for a time and Alexander would love showing his homeland to his friends one day.
It came down to Alexander wanting to just stay at the castle and one day making a venture to the Tou Kingdom for a short time. Henna and the rest of the people Alexander met at the castle were Alexander’s first friends and he wouldn’t just abandon them to pursue his own life goals. Then it was decided and Alexander would hopefully spend his life at the castle, though fate often had a tricky sense of humor, maybe even a sick sense of humor.

Henna lay motionless but not asleep for what seemed like hours before she finally slipped into the depths of sleep. She floated though darkness, her mind thinking of nothing and not offering her conches any offerings of dreams or thoughts. She just lay there breathing softly, the movement of air though her lungs the only thing that separated her from death. She had often wished that she would have been able to dream when she was young, but that wish had passed long ago, very long ago. Now she knew better and knew that her body wasted no energy on illusions to entertain her mind. Henna's hands were placed softly against the pillow and she breathed though her nose, making no sound at all.
