Quirking an eyebrow Mila found herself simply staring at Vandal after he'd managed to turn her around, insinuating that she wanted to spend more time with Vandal. At a loss for words the Delphox's best response was to roll her eyes and cross her arms, all while heat began to pour from her ears; consider her officially embarrassed. "You've... got a funny way of seeing things," she finally remarked, though she spoke in a lowered tone. "No, that was not what I was suggesting." Mila snuck a glance from Vandal from the corner of her eye, trying to decide if she should try to display a bit more anger. "That being said... I imagine we'll be spending a bit of time together, since we're trying to find my trainer after all, so we'll just have to use that time to get to know the real me." The 'real her' being a pokemon who never failed to get on the bad side of most.
Since Vandal was disguised as a trainer it was only a matter of time before Mila brought it up, and while discussing his reasons behind it Vandal brought up a valid point. Trainers had a lot to juggle when it came to just battling, much more than she'd previously considered. From what Mila understood Vandal would be staying in his illusion for the remainder of their time together, and although 'his pokemon' showed that they were more than capable for fending themselves, perhaps it'd become easier for him to keep up his ruse, at least that was what Mila suggested. The Delphox took on a reflective look when, after advising Vandal to sleep more for risk of becoming sick or ruining his appearance, the Zoroark insisted that he was both a nocturnal pokemon and didn't need to worry about his looks too much. "That must be nice," Mila sighed wistfully. "Not needing to care too much what you look like. It's hard to keep up appearances for the rest of us," she confessed.
Speaking of appearances all this sighing and depressing thoughts about losing her trainer wasn't good for her complexion, and so, in an attempt to save her looks-- as well as harboring a genuine interest, Mila asked Vandal about his experience at the fair; it was, undoubtedly, a better experience for him. Mila giggled when, once again, Vandal became dreamy eyed at the topic of confections. "You have quite the sweet tooth," Mila mused, then smiled coyly. "Which would you rather have? An entire cart of the sweets of your choice, or the company of a beautiful female?" That was a good 'would you rather' question, wasn't? Vandal seemed the flirtatious sort.
Waiting for an answer Mila didn't notice the same 'danger' Vandal did, though she certainly didn't miss when the Zoroark moved in front of her protectively. "What?" Mila peered over Vandal's shoulder, eyes narrowing as the albino Houndoom in Vandal's 'party' took care of a dark colored Spinarak. With the situation taken care of Vandal felt it was safe to cut the bodyguard act. "Hmph, you could say that again," Mila retorted. "...I could've handled that myself, you know. There was absolutely no reason to risk yourself." Rather than thank Vandal, Mila fell to scolding him. "B-besides, it's usually the pokemon who protects their trainer, right?" After making her 'point' Mila stood in place as Vandal moved off to investigate something near the trash, picking up what looked to be a disc... and promptly breaking it seconds later. "It looked like a TM," Mila observed, though she didn't dare step closer to get a better look, she didn't want to risk getting too close to the trash and having it cling to her fur. "Whatever it was though, it's gone now. Don't worry too much about it."

Team OOB: With Scarlett: Wondering:
Scarlett gave Zak a sarcastic look and smile as he poked some fun at her accent, sticking out her tongue ever so slightly at him. She supposed it was only fair, given how she liked to mimic his, but it wasn't like she was teasing him for it. Regardless, the conversation continued to move without a hitch, even with Zak's teasing interruption, as Scarlett vaguely explained her feelings on their game. She didn't care if Zak won, she had gone into this expecting that outcome, but that didn't mean she wouldn't try either. She wanted to give it her all, since expecting Zak to win, but then actually achieving her goal of scoring on him would make her feel even more accomplished. It would also be nice to save her ship and a tour as a reward for another day on something more important, but as rewarding as she hoped it would be for Zak, it was something she didn't really mind sharing if she lost. It was only fair that it wasn't a huge cost to her, since going in the odds were stacked against her. Plus, she really was enjoying herself, and learning more about Zak, which were rewards of their own. As she trailed off and thought about all of these things, she felt Zak's eyes on her, and glanced over to notice his genuinely quizzical stare. He didn't ask, but his curiosity was cute, so she wanted to give an answer. "I'm havin' fun." Scarlett suggested simply with a coy smile and another shrug.
Upon finding out that her chance and another half of a reward had passed, she pouted somewhat. "Hm.... Damn." She sighed, though again, she couldn't really say she was surprised. While she could argue that if it was part of her reward and she'd earned it, then he shouldn't go and take it away, he moment had certainly passed, and Zak didn't seem one to be generous or forgiving unless he benefitted in some way. Frankly he was being generous enough by actually motivating her with rewards her instead of threats. Really it just made her want to kick Zinzolin's a** even more. She hoped Vandal was making good on their deal, or she would certainly take out her frustrations on him instead of Zinzolin. She quirked an eyebrow though as Zak suggested that another opportunity might present itself. "Maybe ifn I actually score on ya?" She suggested with a grin. She was already pretty motivated to try and win, but she certainly wouldn't mind more motivation. She was pretty happy with her progress so far, but hearing Zak praise it was even more satisfying. She chuckled a bit when he suggested that her skill and large learning curve meant that he should just watch out when she had more practice. "Mhm~" She suggested vaguely. She wanted to suggest he needed to watch out for her in general, since she was a woman capable of many things, but she decided against it. She didn't really want to tip him off too much. It was good to keep some surprises up her sleeve after all.
When Zak mentioned his empoleon's name though, it held no meaning to Scarlett. He hadn't mentioned it before after all, but when Scarlett asked, Zak seemed almost hesitant to answer at first, before explaining who Deys was. "Ah, yeah. I remember him." She nodded, though the more prevalent memory she had was the blizzard that he had knocked her out with on their first meeting. Arceus, she hadn't even been really training Poseidon as of late.... She had far too many pokemon to keep track of. Speaking of which, Zak suggested that they allow Mako and Ten out to interact, and Scarlett gave Zak a curious look. It seemed like an odd request, not one that Scarlett was against though, so she nodded and grabbed the heavy ball from her bag to allow Mako out, somewhat relieved that she hadn't sent him off with the others for training. Not that she was doing anything wrong, but she wasn't exactly keen on letting Zak know that she was using this time to do more than just play basketball with him.

Vandal chuckled as Mila commented on his way of seeing things. "Hey, I may be a dark type, but I like to look on the bright side." He suggested, though Mila clearly wasn't amused, insisting that she hadn't meant her words to be interpreted the way he had. She did at least concede to the fact that they would likely be spending more time together however, and once she'd admitted that, Vandal somewhat tuned out the rest, satisfied with the answer he got. Plus he didn't really believe her excuses and reasons. He was a zoroark after all, he could tell when someone was putting on an act. "The real Mila eh? Yeah, I'd like to get to know her." He suggested with a vague smile.
It was interesting being a trainer, or rather, having to think about his position when Mila questioned how it felt to have his role reversed somewhat. It was a bit more reflection on his situation than what Vandal would have liked though, as the thoughts running through his head were getting rather depressing, but when Mila asked about it Vandal dismissed the sigh to being tired. Not that he needed more sleep, he was a pretty lazy guy who liked to sleep, but zoroark were nocturnal and didn't really need to worry about keeping up appearances when they could illusion themselves to appear however they wanted. Mila seemed almost envious at that face, but Vandal gave her a sad smile. "Well, on the flip side, it's harder to accept your flaws when you can get away with pretending they don't exist. It's also hard to be yourself when you can be anyone you want to be. Issues with image don't go away that easily." Vandal offered. Neither side was without some repercussions.
Moving on to the much brighter topic of sweets, Vandal was soon given a much interesting 'would you rather' question, one he had to think about. "Hmm.... Depends on the female." Vandal said decisively. "Beauty ain't everythin' in this world. Would rather have me a cart of sweets than a beauty with a bitter personality." He explained, but before he could talk more, a spinarak darted out from an alleyway and Vandal instinctively moved to protect Mila. When the 'threat' was neutralized, he finally relaxed again, and let Mila give him an earful for assuming she was defenseless and that he didn't need to risk himself for her sake, and how it was the pokemon who were supposed to protect the trainer. "Ah... Yeah, sorry sorry." Vandal grimaced. He hadn't expected that sort of reaction, but she was only concerned for him. Mila certainly was a character. Inspecting a disc by the trash cans, Mila suggested that it looked like a TM, and Vandal nodded his head in agreement. "Yeah... I didn't mean to break it so easily, but the things are so damn delicate..." Vandal sighed, but as Mila suggested, there was no use worrying about it now.
Instead, Vandal focused his attention on the alleyway that the spinarak had come from. "Hold on a sec, I just wanna investigate this place. I wonder if there's more where that spinarak came from...." He frowned. Sure enough, another black spider came skittering out towards the group and Damien moved in to take it out with another swipe of his iron tail. This time Vandal made no move at the sight of it, trusting in Damien to take care of it as he had done before. Plus, he really didn't want another earful from Mila. "Where in the world are those things comin' from...?" Vandal mused, moving farther into the alleyway.

Zak lifted his head a bit when Scarlett actually answered his unasked question. He gave her an appraising look, a smirk on his lips, as if he was trying to read her. He didn't doubt what she said, per se, but he was... perhaps trying to read into it. Just how much fun, or just how sincere.... that smile on her lips made him wonder. He looked at her, giving her a brief glance over before turning back to the basket, his smirk still very much in place. He continued the conversation, giving her an honest answer that the the opportunity to get the rest of her 'reward', at least for now, had passed. He gave the hope, though, that another opportunity might arise soon, and flashed her a curious, amused smirk when she made a guess, or perhaps a suggestion, that that opportunity might be if she managed to score. "Perhaps..." he replied back, vaguely. He seemed to consider, then turned, making another shot. "Eef zat's vat you vant..." He hadn't exactly been planning on actually holding that 'opportunity' hostage... he just figured it might come up. And, really, his ego insisted that was probably what would happen anyway, because he was still pretty skeptical that he could lose. He'd been practicing for too long, and while she was good, and she was fast, and inventive, he was still pretty confident. It didn't take a lot to block a shot; you just had to knock the ball away, tip it off it's trajectory, adjust it ever so much, and it would miss. That challenge was actually probably part of why he liked playing offense so much more, really...
Zak nodded absently as Scarlett recalled his pokemon. Come ot think of it, he wasn't sure where Deysatnik and Sotnik had gone off to. They'd been practicing with him, but at some point after Scarlett showed, they disappeared. He doubted they recalled themselves into their pokeballs, but maybe they went off to help Boo scavenge around for items? That seemed more likely, and, honestly, preferable. It might not be training, but it was still more productive than sitting around in their pokeballs.
He smirked a bit at the questioning look she seemed to give him at his suggestion, giving a lackadaisical shrug in return. "So zey can play," he replied in a half-joking manner. He moved over, grabbing Ten's pokeball as well, and releasing her. She appeared, writhing about, growling and gnashing her teeth some, but Zak set the ball down and reached over to pick her up. "Here you go, Mako. Enjoy," he remarked with amusement, setting her closer. Ten calmed down when she spotted Mako, staring and falling still, other than a few little flaps of her fins, as if she were trying to sort of paddle through the air over to him.

As much as Mila refused to allow herself to show, Vandal's choice of words was.. clever; so much so that the fox did end up huffing quietly, just a hint of mirth able to be detected. He certainly was a stubborn one, wasn't he? Still, it wasn't as if Mila was going anywhere anytime soon, so they would be spending more time together. With his vague smile and his optimistic answer Mila grew quiet, unsure of how to respond to him. Eventually she turned to face ahead, the tips of her ears twitching.
Upon picking up on Vandal's sigh Mila's immediate response was to inquire about it, and when he brushed it off as just being tired the Delphox immediately jumped to suggesting he sleep more. In doing this Mila unintentionally gained a bit of knowledge of the Zoroark species, Vandal explaining how he was nocturnal and didn't need to worry about appearance blemishes like bags underneath the eyes. "Hmm." Mila hummed gently, her tail swishing lightly behind her, before she smirked, though her lips curved in a more sympathetic gesture rather than condescending. "Well... I think you should try harder to be yourself more than anyone else, I like 'you'," Mila paused for a moment, quickly going back over her words. "Or... rather, the real you is tolerable. I'm sure others would prefer to be in that company," Mila stopped once more, the movements of her tail growing even more agitated. "..Is that comforting to you in the slightest?" she tried, uncertain.
After a certain amount of time it grew tiresome, discussing disheartening topics, and so in an attempt to lighten the mood Mila proposed a 'would you rather' to Vandal, one that played against his love of sweets. "A very gentlemanly answer," Mila mused, though she was pleasantly surprised by his response. Before she could probe Vandal, either rehash the question with a few more specifics or even ask another question, a wild Spinarak spurred Vandal into protective mode and Mila found herself viewing the brief battle behind his back. It was... warming, but Mila couldn't ignore the fact that Vandal had potentially put himself in danger and after the insect-based danger had been dealt with Mila made sure that the other fox knew how reckless he'd been, certainly not holding back. "Just don't do it again," she muttered, her way of accepting Vandal's apology. After cooling down Mila gave her 'expert opinion' on the disc Vandal had managed to break, suggesting that it was a TM. "Just be careful next time, yeah?"
Rather than leave right away, unfortunately, Vandal decided to explore the alleyway, much to Mila's trepidation. "You shouldn't go too far!" she advised, automatically taking a step in the male's direction before she stepped back. Alleyways were not her forte.. but if Vandal was serious about finding the source of those spiders she risked losing her only guide in the city, not to mention there was a chance he could actually get hurt-- then where would that leave her? Mila sighed irritably, gave an exasperated look, and after mustering up what little courage she had, and throwing the last of her sense away, she quickly padded forward, sticking herself to Vandal like glue. "I swear if anything gets on my fur..." she complained.

Team OOB: With Scarlett: Wondering:
Scarlett couldn't help but feel amused as Zak looked her over appraisingly when she insisted that she was having fun. He could read into it as much as he liked, she wouldn't give him any more information than that. If he wanted to think there was more to it, then he was welcome to. Scarlett didn't mind either way, because while she was being sincere, she wasn't sure whether or not Zak should know. In regards to her reward, Scarlett hadn't thought that Zak had literally meant that another opportunity would possibly come up where he'd be willing to reward her. She'd thought that she would have to try and earn it back by defeating him here or doing another task. That was how the world worked in her mind; nothing was given for free. Plus she didn't want to try and make the argument that she had already earned this reward, since she figured that wouldn't go over well with Zak, so instead she suggested that maybe she could earn it back if she scored on him. Zak's answer was vague, and made Scarlett second guess the offer. What did he mean if that's what she wanted? Did he have something else in mind?
Shaking the thoughts off, Scarlett asked about Deys, reluctantly recalling the empoleon when Zak brought it up. She was much happier to allow Ten and Mako to play together, though she couldn't help but be suspicious as to Zak's motives. He caught her quizzical look and shrugged, insisting that it was so they could play. Scarlett wasn't sure she believed him, but she knew how much Mako seemed to enjoy Ten's company, and she had already given Zak a load of information on Ten's species, so if he was trying to gain something by having the two interact then she doubted that it would be anything too beneficial. With that thought, she let Mako out so he could play with Ten. It was adorable how Ten wiggled and writhed excitedly at first, only to settle down when she saw Mako. As she started trying to wiggle towards him, Mako growled happily and tossed her the chain of his 'tail' to grab onto, that way he could pull her closer to him and gently butt heads with his friend.
The sight of the two was quite adorable, but as much as Scarlett wanted to watch the two interact, instead she stood and packed her things away, making her way towards Zak. "Shall we go again?" She offered, waiting for the ball to be passed her way. "So ya said that I might get past Deysatnik's defense.... Does that mean ya taught yar pokemon to play as well?" She asked curiously. "Ya're a good teacher. Ever consider coaching?" She suggested with a grin. Scarlett wasn't teasing him per se, but considering how annoyed he'd been by the children intruding on their time at the fair, she couldn't see him coaching at that level. Maybe collage level before working his way up to professionals?

Vandal was quite entertained by Mila's reactions. She was quite stubbornly trying not to let his words affect her, which was kind of cute, the way her ears twitched as she remained silent and walked ahead.... Vandal was only amused. However, as they talked about the nature of zoroark species, Vandal's amusement faded into light depression. While there were certainly benefits to being able to change your appearance, there were also downsides as well, like losing sight of who you really were. Mila insisted that he should try harder to be himself more than anyone else, since she liked who he was. Or rather, thought he was tolerable, and others would enjoy his presence. She seemed to pause after suggesting this, tail twitching before she asked if her words were being comforting in the slightest, and Vandal broke out into light laughter. "Yes. Thank you Mila, I 'ppreciate it." He insisted.
To lighten the mood, Mila changed the subject, asking if he would prefer a cart of sweets or a lovely woman. Vandal answered honestly. Sweets were nice, so was a pretty lady, but looks weren't everything. There were certainly a few pretty ladies that Vandal never wanted to be around, and would be far happier with a cart of sweets. Others however, he would give up all the sweets in the world for. Mila seemed pleased with his answer at least, but before she could ask another question, Vandal had to deal with a black colored spinarak, and quickly got lectured by Mila for trying to protect her when he was in disguise and she could take care of herself. Vandal was quick to apologize, and Mila seemed to forgive him, insisting that he just not do it again. "Heh, no guarantees doll~" He grinned. "I was taught to protect women and children, it's the chivalrous thing to do." Vandal suggested.
After discovering the TM, Vandal decided to go investigating the alley in which the spinarak had come from, quickly finding another, which Damien took care of. Mila wasn't too happy about investigating the area, insisting that Vandal not go too far, and remaining behind. "What, you aren't coming? Well alright, I'll be right back." He insisted, diving deeper into the darkness. Eventually, Mila followed in after him, but it was quite dark, and so Vandal couldn't help but have some fun. Shifting into his zoroark form, he moved under the cover of the shadows before appearing right next to Mila. "Funny, I didn't peg you as the type who was afraid to get her hands dirty." Vandal said suddenly. "Didn't your parents teach you not to follow strangers into dark alleyways? They're all wolves in disguise~" He gave a playful growl to make his point, shifting back into his human form with a chuckle.

At the opportunity, Ten chomped down on the anchor, growling and trying to wiggle playfully despite her limited range of movement. Similarly, she attempted to bounce and meet his headbutt with her own momentum, but wasn't able to get much out of the attempt. Undeterred, she went back to chewing on his anchor, staring up at him with wide, attentive eyes, as if studying him, or perhaps waiting for him to make the next move.
Zak was admittedly a little distracted by the interaction as well, a faint smirk on his face as he looked at them. Ten certainly seemed to be more of a baby than Daeva, when she'd been hatched. Nearly as much personality, though. Perhaps it was because the shark had teeth, though... so she was teething. And... perhaps because she didn't quite have the malicious nature Daeva apparently was, in fact, born with. Daeva's instinct had been to hunt, to slither, to cause mayhem and mischief, but Ten had no such disposition. Other than, perhaps, the tendency to play a bit rough...
He turned his attention back to Scarlett, smirk growing at her suggestion to continue, and tossed the ball to her. He nodded to her question, moving to a defensive location, and rolling his shoulders back. He smirked, more in amusement than his usual casual, laid back manner, at the suggestion of couching, though. "Perhaps adults," he drawled, his eyes flashing, "But I can't say ve vouldn't end up deestracted after a few lessons, eef zey vere attractive..." He lowered himself to a ready stance. "But da. I keep my pokemon fairly in practeece vis basketball, eef I can help et. Deys has been playing vis me for years. Sotnik learned shortly after he reached his final evolution." Admittedly, that meant not all of them knew how to play, but not all of them really could. He planned to teach those that might be able to when he got the chance, though. In the meantime... Even though she was left annoyed by Vandal's words, or at least was trying her hardest to appear as if she was, Mila quickly allowed that feeling to subside when the Zoroark's voice fell from his teasing tone, into a more downcast one. With the topic of a Zoroark's natural ability to disguise themselves in the air, Vandal explained the drawbacks of such a technique, and, although she couldn't be positive, it sounded as if he spoke from experience. It was a rather depressing thought to bring up, honestly, and she had already dragged the mood down enough with her own attitude. This just wouldn't do. Fumbling along the way, Mila did her best to cheer the Zoroark up, and afterwards asked if she'd actually accomplished her goal. "Oh." She perked up at Vandal's answer, then let loose a sigh. "Good. One of us has to stay cheerful." Mila brushed off her skirt. "You're welcome, by the way..." she quickly added.
It was past time they changed the subject to something more cheerful, and so Mila proposed a harmless question of preferences to Vandal. The answer he gave was quite... fitting, and she couldn't help but to be amused by it. Unfortunately for her, their conversation was interrupted by the sudden arrival of a Spinarak, to which Vandal felt the need to protect her from; a chivalrous, albeit silly, thing to do, considering the type advantage she held over the insect. She made certain Vandal knew of her disapproval too, gently chiding him for risking himself, and only let up when he apologized. "Protect the women and children who are unable to do it themselves," she insisted. "I can handle myself. There's no reason you should needlessly get yourself hurt." In truth she was only so adamant about this because she hated the idea of someone getting hurt because of her, the very idea weighed heavily on her conscience.
Much to her dismay Vandal seemed the curious type, and after the first Spinarak appeared he seemed determined to find out its source. Which meant leaving the well-lit, clean street and heading into the alley. "As if I'd go into that dank, dirty alley," Mila scoffed when Vandal asked if she was coming. Even with that said, it only took thirty seconds before the Delphox found herself eating her own words and running in after Vandal, not exactly worried for Vandal's safety, but more of concerned that she'd lose her guide. Trying her best not to breathe in too deeply Mila took long strides to rejoin Vandal, muttering to herself all the while, only to stop when he seemed to disappear from her sight. "Vandal?" She tentatively sniffed the air, trying to locate the Zoroark through scent, though was interrupted when Vandal appeared directly beside her, causing her to yelp and jump. Curbing the urge to slap the fox Mila settled for glaring at Vandal, and simply stared at him with an unamused look as he growled and then returned to his human form. "They did. But they never told me anything about shape-shifting foxes," she explained before flicking Vandal's nose. "Don't do that again, or having your disguise ruined will be the least of your worries," she threatened, though it didn't hold as much conviction as one might expect.

Wearing: Silky cream shirt and silky, slightly baggy/loose light blue pants ___________________________________________ Out Of Ball:
Cyrus was content to walk in silence, but really didn't mind when his friend spoke up. Even if it was more about him wanting him to get back into playing the harp. The cream haired male looked at Apollo from the corners of his eyes. He was really insistent about this, it seemed. "Hmm..." Cy hummed thoughtfully, his golden gaze darting back to ahead of them. It had been a really long time since he last played a harp, or any instrument resembling one. Would he even remember how to play? The Egyptian considered this surprisingly seriously as they made their way to the restaurant.
It wasn't long before they reached their destination, Apollo allowing Cyrus to enter first. Apollo spoke up again on the topic, surprising Cyrus a bit. To hear that his friend had always been impressed with his harp playing talents when they were younger... it was a bit flustering. Especially seeing as his friend was actually a musician. "I wasn't that good..." he mumbled quietly as they approached the wait staff at the podium to get a table. Surprisingly, it didn't take to long to be seated - they must have picked a perfect time to arrive. Cyrus eyed his friend curiously when he pulled out a chair in a princely manner - apparently for him to sit in. There was a slight twitch of amusement in the corner of his lips as the dark skinned male accepted the seat at the table.
After settling in his seat, Cyrus rested his forearms on the table before him, looking down to consider all what his friend was saying. He hadn't played the harp since his mother died, and no matter how much he ignored and shoved his feelings away... it kinda bothered him. Deep down, he had some conflicted feelings on starting to play again - it's what his mother would have wanted, but he didn't really want to think about how she left his world. In the end, however, he didn't really want to make a show of refusing to play the harp again in front of his friend. He didn't want this to turn into any kind of pity party full of sympathy, and didn't want to draw attention to himself in such a way in general. "I suppose i could start playing again. It's... uh, been a while, so I'm not sure how good the outcome will be..." he sighed lightly, then replied to his friend in a light tone.
=== Meanwhile, back at the room, where Cyrus had left his communicator, a text was received. A text inquiring about one of the pokemon that Cyrus had up for 'sale' on gts. While Cyrus was absent, Virus couldn't stop himself by being all over it. "A text~ Oh~ who is this?~" the porygon2 cooed to himself as he examined the contents. The writer was interested in the pikachu, and had no clue what he could offer. The digital pokemon was well aware that his trainer preferred to have cash in some shape or form for his pokemon. However, after checking out the profile picture of the sender - Virus had tracked where the message had come from to do so, the porygon2 decided this pikachu was on the house. "What a cutie~" he chirped to himself, then opening up a text to reply to the person in Cyrus' place. Once the reply was sent, he shifted through the digital world to get to Cyrus pokemon storage to retrieve the pikachu, transferring it over to Noel.
Outside of the communicator, Bandit decided to release herself from her ball, causing Sinbad to snarl a bit in response. "Oh hush you big kitty." the fox snapped at the pyroar, running her claws through her thick fur. Sinbad eyed the Zoroark warily, but knew that she was much tougher than he was. That didn't stop him from growling when she started to rifle through his master's bags. During this, she somehow managed to move around some of cyrus' party before she pulled out the object that she was searching for. It was that summon item she pilfered from some fool at the fair. It was certainly worth something, by Cyrus' reaction, and she wanted it for herself. It was rightfully hers anyways, right? However, when she opened the case, she found the stone was already dulled. "What? This can't be right!" she snarled, examining the stone closer. While Bandit was occupied with the summon item, Sinbad's eyes caught sight of something reflected in the glass windows in the room. He couldn't really see anything but it's reflection, but he could sense another being in the room. His fur puffed up as he padded past Zoroark to investigate the reflection more closely. "Heehee~ It's too bad i couldn't go with him! This is quite a nice ship, isn't it, kitty?" a soft, amused voice giggled.
Response to Noel
Oh! You'd like that pikachu? Wonderful! I've been hoping to find it a good home~ Don't worry about a trade, sweet heart~ just take good care of it! I'll send it on it's way now!

City life! Noel could stand it, Algernon could not. Of course, the fact that they were both practically wearing noise-cancelling headphones made it all the more funny. Shifting the Espurr in his arms, grin still plastered on his face, Noel took a look around as the walked along the side walk, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. Castelia was a big change from the silent chirps of nature they'd just left, with people hustling and bustling this way and that. It took a lot of determination to locate someone who was willing to stop and address him, asking for directions to the train station. Eventually he found someone who was willing to do just that and was soon quickly bustling his way for the train station to catch the next ride out to Kalos.

Noel jumped a bit when he felt a vibration at his wrist, causing even Algernon to perk up as well as he felt it too. Stopping next to a bench, he set Algernon down on it a moment and plopped himself down as well. He pulled up his C-Gear, blinking in surprise at the sight of a message. Who was it from? He didn’t immediately recognize the number but once he pulled up the message he realized what it was about.
Ah, right! The Pikachu inquiry! That had totally slipped his mind; he’d sent the inquiry so long ago. But it was great actually, seeing as how he was off to try and build himself a team. He read over the message quickly, grinning as the dealer seemed to be willing to give him the Pikachu for free even. He did quirk an eyebrow curiously at the speech in the text, reddening just a bit but still grinning. Well they sounded really nice and he was absolutely grateful.
Text Message: "Thank you so much! I promise I’ll take really good care of it! Thank you thank you thank you!!"
"C’mon Algy! We need to stop at the pokemon center really quick!" Noel chimed as he sent the response off, immediately jumping back to his feet and scooping up the Espurr in a hurry. He was rather excited about getting a new pokemon and wanted to get it as quickly as possible. Luckily, the pokemon center was along the way to the train station so the quicker they took their detour, the better. Picking up from his speed walking to a proper run, he dashed in and out of the crowds until he finally got to his destination. He sped in and over to the PC console, quickly typing in the information from the trade and beaming as the teleporter burst to life and a pokeball appeared.
"AWESOME!" Noel practically shouted, composing himself only after noting that his tone was a little louder than it should’ve been. Immediately he snatched up the pokeball, eyeing it curiously, clutching it tightly in his hand before attaching it to his belt and heading back out the doors. He needed to get to the train station first, but once he was in Kalos he would make sure proper introductions occurred between him and his new Pikachu.

With Pikachu now in his group and his mind already running over potential names to give it, Noel rushed the rest of the way to the train station. He was pretty much out of breath by the time he got there and had to wait a minute or two before actually approaching the ticket counter. The last thing he wanted to do was gasp out where he needed a ticket to after all. Luckily, that wasn’t the case and he’d made it just in time to purchase passage and even take a seat to wait.
He was all a grin at this point. Sure, his earlier gym battle and dampened his mood but now was the time to think on the positive side! He had won in the end after all, scored himself a Pikachu just like he wanted and was heading off to another region to collect some more. He was making headway in his adventure and that was something to look forward too.
"We’re gonna go far Algy! It’s gonna be great." He murmured, snuggling the Espurr in his arms a bit. Algernon gave a little chirp of his own, snuggling into the hug himself before his attention shifted as the train pulled up. Noel perked up as the sound system called out for them to board, hopping to his feet and shuffling onto the train with the rest of the passengers on their way to Kalos.

Team OOB: With Scarlett: Wondering:
Mako didn't seem to mind his chain tail being used for Ten's teething. Being made of solid steel, the chain had little to no feeling in it, and he was far too enamored with the baby shark to really care even if he could feel the pain of her teeth in his tail. Once he'd managed to reel her in, he gently butted heads with Ten, making a rumbling noise that sounded close to an amused chuckle as she tried, and didn't quite succeed to use her momentum to bounce and return the head butting gesture. She didn't seem phased by her failed attempt however, which was good; Mako didn't want the little shark to be upset after all. He felt a bit put on the spot however as she stared at him attentively. Now that she was here, he was content, but they couldn't do much together given their limited mobility. If they were in the ocean, that would be one thing, but here on land, they were stuck. Maybe he could try and teach her to roll so they could go somewhere?
Scarlett was more focused on her game with Zak now that she had requested they continue, and upon receiving the ball again, she gave a few practice dribbles while she asked if the Russian had considered coaching. Zak seemed amused by the suggestion, agreeing that he could potentially coach adults, though he also admitted that there might be complications if they were attractive. "Mm yes, I kin see yar dilemma." She chuckled, though she had been thinking about coaching a team of male players, so when Zak suggested finding one of them attractive, she suddenly pictured Zak with another cute guy. They had seemed to keep the gender vague, so Scarlett couldn't help but think, what if Zak swung both ways? That would be interesting... Before she could think too much on it or ask, she was distracted as Zak admitted to training his pokemon to play basketball, since he'd been playing with his empoleon for years. "Interesting. I'd like to see yar pokemon play sometime. And Sotnik is...?" Scarlett inquired. She really didn't know the names of any of his pokemon other than Daeva, and now Deys. When Zak suggested that they focus on honing her skills though, Scarlett chuckled and gave the ball another bounce for good measure. "Fair point." She agreed, and then took off for the basket.
There were a few other techniques she wanted to try. Since Zak was skilled enough to block the ball from a shot in the air, she could try jumping up to the basket and delivering the ball herself. That way, when Zak inevitably moved in to block her, she at least had some control over the ball, and could try and fight against Zak's block to try and force the ball into the basket.

Vandal chuckled lightly as Mila insisted that he should worry more about protecting the women and children who couldn't protect themselves, since she could handle herself just fine. "I'll keep that in mind when there are other women and children around." He suggested with a smirk. He didn't see protecting Mila as meaningless, even if he got hurt, but it was quite obvious they didn't see eye to eye on the matter, so there was no point in trying to argue it. It was strange that there were so many oddly colored spinarak coming from this alleyway though, and even though he wanted to help Mila find her trainer, he still had his own mission to uphold. To that end, he figured it was worth investigating the alley for now, even though it would mean temporarily abandoning Mila, but hey, she insisted she could take care of herself in battle right? Surely she could do without her guide for a while too. At least, it seemed that was how his little adventure would go until Mila changed her mind and ran in after him. Amused and in his element, Vandal couldn't help but prank the delphox a bit by shifting into his true form and sneaking up next to her with a playful growl, which earned him a flick on the nose, but Vandal only grinned and he rubbed his muzzle and cast his human illusion again. "Worth it~" He chuckled, but he silently promised to stay focused on the tasks at hand for now.
The spinarak trail led to a side door of one of the buildings, and opening it, Vandal stepped inside. With Mila deciding to come with him, he didn't have to debate between investigating or hurrying back to the delphox's side, which was nice. The building appeared to be something of an abandoned warehouse, which made sense given the spinarak making it their home, but for an old dusty looking building, there was an odd sense of activity buzzing about. Vandal's ears flicked, turning towards the direction of little sounds coming from the floor above and the rooms across the halls. Suddenly Dotty rushed forward, hovering in front of Vandal with a look of alarm and wisps of her red psychic energy forming several exclamation marks. Vandal knew what that meant. It seemed they had stumbled upon the secret base Scarlett was looking for. Backing up Vandal quickly ushered Mila and Scarlett's pokemon close together so that he could create the illusion that none of them were there. It was hard to make wide range illusions, the closer they were together, the less area he had to cover. He managed to cover them just in time too, because the door across the hall swung open with two angry looking plasma grunts. "Arceus are we in for a long night.... At least we managed to liberate a few pokemon while all the trainers were focused on those Zinzolin illusions." One of the grunts sighed. "Yeah, no kidding, but ultimately the plan was still a flop. I can't believe Lord Zinzolin's pokemon were taken out so quickly!" Vandal's eyes narrowed. This was definitely the place. If they could just keep quiet and continue to eavesdrop, they might spill some information on Zinzolin's current whereabou-- "Huh? Hey, the door's open." s**t. Vandal glanced back at the door they had come through, and sure enough, it hadn't been closed, and the zoroark hadn't noticed in time to do anything about it. "That's strange... No one should have come in directly... We were all teleported here." They were coming to investigate, and getting suspicious. Vandal needed to think of a plan, and fast. At the very least, he could provide them with cover, so even though they were a few feet away, the grunts wouldn't notice the group unless they were touched. That only bought them so much time though, and the grunts couldn't be allowed to raise an alarm.

Zak was set on basketball now, so he didn't quite notice Mako's dilemma with Ten. The little shark was continuing to chew on him and look expectantly up at him, but she didn't seem disappointed by the lack of action. Perhaps she was just observing... or maybe she was just very, very patient. Either way, her trainer was preoccupied, and not inclined to intervene at the moment, and since his other pokemon weren't presently available to assist.... it seemed waiting would indeed be what she would be doing.
Zak smirked, scoffing in amusement at her 'sympathetic' response. A briefly curious look crossed his face as he watched her expression, but whatever might be on her mind, she didn't seem to care to share, and he wasn't inclined to ask. Not at the moment, at least. He was more interested in playing, for the time being, though she was still asking questions. His smirk grew a bit, but he also narrowed his eyes, one more than the other, staying quiet a moment as he seemed to try and figure out if she was asking out of sheer curiosity, or trying to gather intel. Giving names didn't.... really hurt. He could have been the sort to not give nicknames at all, and that would be just the same. Then again, keeping nicknames could provide some, possible, opportunity in the future. Giving instruction without her knowing who he was referring to, and the like. He heavily weighed this, but in the end, he gave a non-directional jerk of his head before getting ready to play again. "My serperior," he replied simply.
Once he focused their attention back on the game, their match resumed. He was a little surprised when she started playing in much closer, and going for slam dunks, but he compensated; initially, he jumped up, knocking the ball from her hand or grabbing it and jerking it down to struggle for it and keep her from shooting. He didn't seem at all bothered by the proximity, even closing the distance a bit upon landing, once the ball was knocked away, flashing a confident, cocky smirk as he would tilt his head to the side and look down at her.
Eventually, though -- especially as he figured she was getting the hang of it -- he started moving out, blocking her from getting close enough to slam dunk, and moving faster, and more aggressive. At this point, even he could feel it starting to ware on him; not tire him out, but he could feel his muscles start to burn, his body start to heat up. And of course.... that only made it all the more enjoyable.

Apollo chuckled Cyrus tried to dismiss his skills. "Don't be so humble," he remarked. "You were good." With all the walking they'd done that day it was a relief to be immediately led to a table, though it was only after pushing Cyrus' chair up the table that Apollo realized it hadn't even been... necessary to pull out his chair for him. His friend was perfectly capable of seating himself.
Taking his own seat, Apollo flashed a smile when, after mulling it over, Cyrus agreed to take up the harp again, as doubtful as he was about it. "You'll be fine," he insisted, picking up his menu and giving it a quick glance over. "Like I said, I'll help you out as much as I can." He'd never actually taught someone how to play an instrument, or at least reteach them the basics. He'd given pointers and advice, sure, but never sat someone down and went over, step-by-step, lessons. "We can start after you get your badge from Cilan." Apollo remembered the Mega Blastoise that'd been by his friend's side back at the fair, and although she wasn't a Unova starter he was sure Striaton's City's odd rules would still apply. "Or, whenever you want, there's no rush. We'll be together for a while, right?" He was careful to pose the last part of his sentence as a sentence, after all he wasn't sure just how long Cyrus planned on staying in Unova. He didn't want to assume that he'd in the region for more than a few weeks, as nice of an idea as that was.

Mila rolled her eyes playfully at Vandal's jesting suggestion, but offered no rebuttal. This conversation just told her that she'd have to be more alert and aware of her surroundings, the next time danger arose she'd have to be quick enough to dispatch it herself before Vandal went all 'guard canine' on her. The arrival of the black Spinarak had done more than spark a disagreement between Mila and Vandal, as the latter grew curious and decided to investigate it, and the second Spinarak that came scuttling out, place of origin, and although she initially decided to stay put Mila quickly changed her mind and went chasing after the fox. Mila nearly changed her mind, however, when she was given an unappreciated 'welcome', Vandal's little prank met with a flick of the nose and a warning not to scare her again. "We'll see if you still think that when I get my paws on you.." Mila grumbled.
Keeping her tail close to her body Mila followed Vandal into the Spinarak's home, an abandoned warehouse whose back door was already unlocked. The Delphox held a generally unimpressed expression as she looked around, noting the dust the old building had managed to collect. "This satisfy your curiosity?" she questioned, throwing a paw out around the room. A disgruntled look passed over her face as one of the pokemon apart of Vandal's 'team', a Solosis, began to create quite the sight, several exclamation marks, and Mila's expression only deepened when she and the rest of the poked were herded together. She opened her mouth to protest, only to immediately grow silent as two humans burst into the room, sporting a very familiar outfit. Mila grit her teeth as she recognized the Plasma insignia on the shirts of the grunts, their conversation only confirming their identity, those idiots were the reason she'd gotten separated from her trainer! Them and their convoluted plan to free the pokemon. Immediately Mila's ear tufts began to grow hot with anger, only for them to immediately cool down when one of the grunts notice that the door, the one that she and Vandal had come through, was open. "What are we supposed to do now?" she shot the telepathic question to Vandal while she narrowed her eyes on the grunts. This wasn't at all what she'd bargained for when she'd followed Vandal down the alley.

Team OOB: With Scarlett: Wondering:
Scarlett was appreciative of Zak being ever so kind as to give a face to the names he kept throwing out. While Scarlett wasn't necessarily trying to dig up information more than having a better idea what he was talking about in terms of her skill level compared to his pokemon, it was nice to know the names of his pokemon and more so what pokemon he had in his possession. It was clear that this was the last freebie Zak would be giving Scarlett however as he insisted they focus on her own skills rather than that of his pokemon, and Scarlett had to agree, responding to the encouragement with a new tactic of carrying the ball to the basket so that Zak couldn't just push it away without a fight. The proximity was enjoyable for Scarlett, even if she was still getting blocked. She had to keep herself in check though, and make sure she wasn't too distracted.
As attractive as Zak was–especially shirtless–now was not the time to get lost in thought; she wanted to win. Eye on the prize, and all that jazz. Her first few attempts were unsurprisingly a bust, since each time she went up, Zak managed to push the ball away, wrench it out of her hands, or otherwise prevent it from going inside the hoop. Scarlett could only sneer back as Zak closed the distance between them after the fact, as if he were silently asserting his skill over her. Zak being cocky like that helped keep her motivated at least, she pushed herself to move faster and try to work around Zak's maneuvers. Not that she really felt irked by his confidence; he had every right to feel the way he did, being as experienced as he was, but it made the challenge all the more exciting. She could just imagine that smirk turning into shock if she actually managed to succeed. That expression would be priceless, a reward in of itself on top of whatever he had planned if she won their little wager. Her persistence seemed to pay off as Zak changed up his game, no longer letting her in close to the hoop before he actually tried to stop her. That was a step in the right direction at least.
She wanted him to play a closer defense. She'd been expecting it from the beginning, and it was almost annoying that he hadn't initially, but now she could see why. He was fast, and his defense was aggressive and relentless. Had he started their match like this, Scarlett would have been left with her head spinning. At least this way she'd had a chance to warm up to this level of play, and even though it was difficult, she powered through it. Panting, Scarlett pushed some of her hair out of her face, using her sweat to slick it back somewhat and keep it there. "Arceus...." She muttered under her breath and began to laugh a bit. She couldn't remember the last time she'd worked this hard at anything. She was so tempted to call for another break and get some gatorade to drink, but she didn't want to stop playing, having far too much fun, even if it was exhausting. "One more...." She assured herself quietly. One more round and then she would take a break.... Maybe two.... Or three. With a grin, she started dribbling in towards the basket again, fairly certain she had gotten familiar enough with Zak's closer defense to try and read ahead. She was worn out, what she lacked in speed she could make up with her ability to read his movements. Sometimes she read them wrong, but when she guessed correctly, she was able to think ahead and attempt to counter his attempts on the ball, pivoting and turning away. When she saw a shot, she took it, other times she tried to move in for the basket in an effort to keep Zak guessing whether she was going to try and shoot for distance or take it to the hole.
Eventually though, after another hundred or so unsuccessful attempts on the basket, Scarlett gave a frustrated sigh and slowly sank down on the pavement, laying back to look up at the sunset colored sky. She was more angry about how tired she was than her lack of success. They had been at this for hours, and the time she had put into the match had taken it's toll. "Dammit...." She wheezed. "I daen't want ta stop, but... Ifn I keep this up much longer, I won't be able to walk to the pokemon center." She snorted and laughed, which was quite the feat considering she was completely out of breath. "Alright... You win. I coul' probably give ya a couple mare rounds ifn ya promised ta carry me to my room though." She suggested with a grin, but then looked to her bag. She had drained her water and gatorade long ago and had just been using the water fountain during their breaks, but now she was too tired to reach the fountain. She supposed she could ask one of her water types to hose her down or give her something to drink, but her bag was out of reach as well, and she needed to rest more than anything else right now, so she was somewhat stuck for the moment.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vandal's grin only grew as Mila suggested that he wouldn't think his little prank would be worth it when she got her paws on him. "Heh, is that a threat, or a promise?" He chuckled. "Besides, you'll have to catch me first." He pointed out playfully, having his human illusion throw her double pistols and a wink before refocusing on the alleyway ahead of them. Once they were inside the building, it appeared abandoned, as Mila was more than eager to point out. However, she wasn't aware of Vandal's little side mission for Scarlett, and according to Dotty's alarm, it looked like they had successfully found the plasma base they were looking for. Vandal hurriedly ushered their group tightly together, using his illusions to make it appear as if they weren't there. Just in time too, as a few plasma grunts entered the area from the door across the room. Their conversation was informative, and Vandal was content to stay still and continue eavesdropping, until the grunts noticed that the door was left open and grew suspicious.
While they had yet to catch on to the group's presence thanks to Vandal's illusions, they were in a tight spot. Mila was already mentally berating him, which wasn't helping. "I'm thinking!" He insisted in a mental hiss. It would be possible to sneak out if the grunts weren't blocking the way to the door, not that Vandal could allow them to leave just yet. Scarlett would by no means be happy with this small scrap of information. She had given him her team to infiltrate and wreak havoc on Team Plasma, which meant that the answer for the situation was obvious, Vandal just didn't want to accept it. If he dropped their cover now and caused a fuss, it was likely they wouldn't be able to sneak around and eavesdrop for more information. Instead they would have to beat it out of the grunts, and use other unsavory interrogation tactics. While Vandal had no problem with the dirty work, he felt uncomfortable doing it in front of Mila. Now he wished that she had found someone else to guide her...
Dammit.... He thought to himself and sighed. There was one other option. He didn't like it either, but it was the best way to deal with the situation at hand. Closing his eyes, Vandal started glowing with the dark aura of his foul play ability before he lunged at the grunts. In one fluid motion he slammed their heads together hard, before swiftly kneeing one in the gut to knock the wind out of him and covering the other's nose and mouth. The first grunt gasped for air that wouldn't come, unable to raise alarm, while the other suffered from oxygen deprivation. Wordlessly, Vandal looked to Dotty, issuing mental commands. She needed to knock out the first grunt before he started making too much noise, but the solosis hesitated. This didn't feel right. She didn't want to hurt anyone. "Do it!" Vandal insisted, but Dotty shook her head vigorously, squeezing her eyes shut. "Oh for the love of..." Vandal sighed, his eyes flashing with an ominous purple light as he unleashed an extrasensory on the nearly recovered grunt, forcing him to pass out along with his partner. They both hit the floor and Vandal covered them up in his illusion, panting slightly from the effort. He wasn't used to using extrasensory just yet, it took a lot out of him, but he wouldn't ask Mila to get her hands dirty like this. Even if she had insisted that she didn't need protection, this was a different kind.
Slowly, Vandal took on the appearance of one of the fallen grunts, then forming Mila as the other. "Would either of you ladies mind looking into their pokeballs to figure out what kind of pokemon they had?" He asked, glancing between Dotty and Mila. With that information he could make disguises for the other members of their party. It wasn't optimal, but with disguises, they could walk around blending in and not causing suspicion if a door was open or noise was made.
