"I...I don't know," Coailiann said, frustration in her whisper. She was, after all, just a child. She didn't have all the answers. He was a grown up, he had to know something? What about that giant a** sword he had? Where had that gone?

The sidhe was near tears. "W...we just have to do something."

"... Something the matter?" he promptly asked of Kay and Nic, looking somewhat irritated at the rude whispers.

Kyo eyed Kay silently, watching as the child's rage grew. Really now, that was the last thing they needed to put up with- a sidhe's temper. Still, she said nothing, rather content with Ari's suggestion. Yes, she'd rather leave than fight, but if the dome was the best option...

The place began to shake, and glass began to pour. The teacher was nearly thrown from her feet, stumbling towards Ari. "Then let's get the children... and go there. Be careful walking." Obviously. A glance was thrown to the supposed help, a flat and tolerant stare. Oh, he reminded her of someone she knew all too well. Someone she loved dearly, but just hardly was able to keep out of trouble with such a snappish demeanor. "You can't see anything of the light creatures out there?" While they might not have trusted it, Kyo refused to be rude to him, silently watching Nic and Kay from the corner of her eye.

Oh ho! A little smile quirked across his face seeing the thing duck behind the television, and to the thoughts... well, now that he had found its mind he could hear parts of it. Save was a good word. 'Why be afraid? You're...cool.' He told it, after attempting to establish a link. 'No one wants to be mean to you.'

((Xerk highlight please. <3))

'... You can... hear me?' The spirit's voice was hesitant at first, but having tested the ground and found it safe, it barreled on with its thoughts. 'Oh thank the stars! Listen to me! You're all in danger, very big danger. Jorianth, he's one of the Big-Ups. He's just trying to stall until Talbar can get the rest of them, and they can tear you all apart. If I come out in the open, he'll kill me in an instant; if I could get out, though, I could try and get help, maybe send some more spirits, or at least... at least SOMETHING!'

Right, something. What was he going to do with Wiko? He was NOT going to set him back in the playpen to be alone at this point.

"You wanna take Wiko?" he replied under his breath, eyes still locked on Jorianth. He knew well she didn't, but she'd better. There was no way he'd do anything holding a little wendigo-ling. His left hand was already readying his sword again, but cautiously.

Too much energy let-off and he wins, he thought. I don't want to FEED him.

Shira's anger and anxiety had been slowly rising to the surface, she'd had enough of being in this place. She just wanted to leave, for no one else to get hurt. She knew Coailiann didn't trust this creature, and neither did she.

"Why are you here?" She ground out. "You can't help us nor do anything of the sort, but yet you're still here. What is it that you want?" Her voice raised with every word she spoke.

Coailiann took the child in her arms and took a deep breath, turning her head to look at Jorianth at the question, "We're just...trying to find a way out of here," she lied - though it was less than convincing.

Coailiann was not a good liar. At all.

Ari managed to stand, and taking Kyo's lead went over to the play pin. "Alright everyone, we need to get you all to a cool room now, so sit still!" She picked up wiko from his guardian and placed him amongst the rest. Ari smiled at the figure of darkness that had been protecting them, gave it a nod "If you have any more wisdom for us make sure that you let us know alright?" and she began to drag the play pin, with Art back in it, all the way down the hall.

It was good that it was one of the kinds with the bottoms, and the children totaled wern't that heavy. She continued to think of what in the world connected them to the real world and how to find it so they could get back.

[edit for wiko]

Taylor winced as she heard the headquaters crash and more then one breakable item shatter. "Going down? Final death? That's not cool!"

She gripped her "sword" all the more tightly. The creature's attitude was getting to her. "So what the hell do you expect us to do? Call the real world on our cell phones?"

"...hey, maybe that would work!" she added, pulling her phone out of her pocket. But there was no luck- the battery was dead, its energy apparently already sucked up by the denizens of this shadowy world. She hadn't thought it was going to get service here anyway.

The sword being lifted brought Jorianth's eyes to a wide attention; glancing to Kay as she fumbled her lies, to Nic (and Taylor, too?!) readying a weapon, and the little bit of energy that he sensed over in the corner with the television.

"... I think," Jorianth mused, raising his right hand placatingly to the threat of the sword, "that...."

He paused to glance to Shira, Kyo and Ari, pausing purposefully to make eye contact before he continued on with his chosen course.

"You ingrates need a lesson."

This calm threat was puncuated with a wave of his claw; the shadow hooked itself into that of the nearest person- Neveah- and swept her directly before the spirit. With all the finesse of an artist dragging a brush over the canvas, he brought his claw back, ripping across the woman's face and throat and sending her tumbling to the floor at his feet, the extent of her injuries unclear.

Blood, it would seem, was as grey as anything else in this realm.

What to do. What to do. Wiko was somewhere less dangerous now, but now how to approach Jorianth? Better yet, what action would be better to take? Direct attack obviously would do them no good. Moving around too much would catch his attention. What could he have done? His eyes darted about the room for any ideas... until someone moved.

Jorianth's attack cinched it. Akorigarita flew out again. "Stay the ******** back!" he warned the others, stepping forward to a place dangerously close to Jorianth. Danger be damned, at least he'd try. The black sword flew upward, wanting a close strike to the invader's pompous face.

Too direct, he warned himself, not at all listening. Pfft.

((Permission granted from Enoh for this, I am NPCing her for the time being.))

Neveah finally snapped out of her daze when she was grasped and her eyes went wide. What the hell was going on? The little slivers of butterfly wings fluttered wildly as she attempted to get away, get over to Zah and get him out but the the claw scratched her way too quickly for her to react further. Blood was darker than usual and she was soon laying it as she was discarded and tumbled to his feet.

But the surge of energy that had taken place had called more than Jorianth would have bargained for. A light creature who appeared to be flickering in and out of view stood in the doorway, her eyes glowing a deep white, contrasting the greyscale nicely. Her hair was flowing long and while she seemed to be a normal woman, there were a few things that immediately drew your attention away from that fact.

She had a long, sharp beak and headwings - and behind her was a tail of peacock design.

"JORIANTH!" The woman said, taking a step forward and leaving a trail of watery looking liquid that actually emitted color. It was obviously a strong spirit to be able to leak color in a realm where color could not exist very long.

The normally soft spoken woman...was not pleased. And while her heart broke and she felt the woman's life leak from her, she couldn't afford to do much more than finish her off and siphon the rest of her life away into a small locket around her neck. Jorianth would not be allowed to touch the poor woman's spirit - and in that moment, Neveah was completely and irreversibly dead.

Yashis arms tightened on the rather calm toddler in his arms when he saw his best friends mother get her face ripped off. Neveah was a woman he LIKED. She was NICE to him and she had other kids at home!

"NEVEAH!" He was loud, pressing a hand to Xerks ear so the boy wouldn't cast the full blast of his voice. "You b*****d! You--"

Even with Xerk held to him, Yashi started towards the butterfly woman, anger in his movements. Iamel yelped, breathing heavily in horror himself, and grabbed his brother around the waist, dragging him back. "No, Yashi," The older one snarled, his hands shaking. "He'd just do it to you too."

"NO! I'm going to ******** KILL HIM!" Through the screaming, Yashis pupils became slimmer, eventually disappearing into the gold and his teeth grew longer, past his lips; fangs. Fur erupted on his hands and presumably a good portion of his body... anger shifting. What a thrill. "I'M--"

"He'll do it to Xerk too."

The fur disappeared in a blink while his eyes - and teeth - remained the same. Yashi drew a ragged breath, hands trembling on his little friend. ..I'm going to KILL him

Then the woman appeared and while Yashi was still upset...he let himself go limp in his brothers arms.

OhGodOhGodOhGod--

It was too late. It knew it, just KNEW it. It was all too late now. Jorianth was attacking, and it was just an ickle little thing. The spirit had hardly the energy to defend itself, let alone all these people....

It should run. If it ran, it could find help, and maybe the living folks would prove that they could hold their own against the Big-Up deceiver long enough for it to find someone.

But it still couldn't get past Jorianth- the creature was still standing nearest to the exit, and if the spirit tried to get past, it would likely be rended by those horrible claws itself. Did it rise to the defense of these livings, then, and hope to survive? Valor would suggest it, and there was little other option....

The little one, at least. The one that spoke it with. The spirit could commit itself to defending that one, at least for the moment. Drawing together its strength, it flew out of hiding, rising to position itself between Jorianth and the little mind-reader. 'I will do my best,' it promised Xerk, 'and try to keep you safe.'

"What did you guys do!" Ari shouted at the remaining group in front of the good shadow person. "You lot knew he was beyond powerful compared to us and what do you do?! GO AND UPSET HIM! He was HELPING US if any of you cared to NOTICE!" She had turned her body in protection of the children, to protect them from the image of the newly dead, and from the group trying to attack the one good thing that had happened to them.
