YOU HAVE MY BOW!
Today's class seemed similar to the last. Survive. This time they were supplied with real weapons! It came down to sword, dagger, bow. Well she'd tried a dagger before so that was out. Sword or bow, sword or bow. Bow. She guessed a sword was similar to a dagger in some ways, a bow was a thing she had never really seen before.
Holly went and grabbed a bow. She took her place. The ghoul positioned herself like all of the other students that were trying out too. She notched an arrow, drew back and released. The arrow hit the mannequin but didn't stop it from advancing.
Opponent's HP: 12/15
Damage Dealt: 6+3-6=3
Opponent's Distance: 60-6=54
Knockback Dealt: no

YOU HAVE MY BOW! Her next shot was a near miss, so maybe she was actually getting better... but it was still a miss. The mannequin's distance continued to close, and the ghoul started to panic a bit. If she didn't stop it soon, it was going to reach her. YOU HAVE MY BOW! And then her next shot seemed to be about to fall short... as it turned out, it was actually heading right towards one of the mannequin's feet. The mannequin froze, and the arrow thunked into the wood in front of it. When the mannequin tried to take a step forward, it stepped right on the arrow, which snapped, somehow causing the mannequin to sway precariously. It took it several moments to right itself, by which time Mitzi had another arrow nocked and ready to go. YOU HAVE MY BOW! Holly would have taken a deep breathe had she the need to breath. The ghoul grabbed another arrow. She notched it, pulled back and released. The arrow was a bit off this time sadly. It hit the side of the mannequin. It didn't appear to do any damage but did appear to knock the mannequin from not moving any farther up. One good thing at least. YOU HAVE MY BOW! Once again Mitzi tried to shoot the mannequin, and fell just short. This time, the arrow hit the same plank, which had already been damaged first by the arrow, and then by the mannequin stepping on the arrow. The mannequin had stepped back to avoid it, and then forward again, and the board groaned audibly... and then snapped, lodging the mannequin's foot in the wood. Mitzi gulped, hoping she wouldn't get in trouble for damaging the floor, but now she had her chance. YOU HAVE MY DAGGER! The next exchange was fast as the mannequin and strix both struck out and were dodged. The fight seemed to be picking up speed but Ulmuka still felt strong and mannequin was slowing down slightly. YOU HAVE MY BOW! The ghoul was feeling pretty good. She had been able to land a hit and knock it back. Okay, not at the same time but one or the other so far. Holly loaded up like before and released another arrow. This one hit square on but the mannequin still kept coming. What was wrong with this thing! YOU HAVE MY BOW! As the mannequin struggled to free itself, she drew back her bow again, taking aim on the now relatively still target. This time, not only did her arrow hit, but it thudded right into the center of the mannequin. She saw it shudder, jerk once, and then go back to trying to free itself. But she could tell that she had done a pretty solid hit this time, and now she felt like she might actually be able to finish it off before it could get to her. YOU HAVE MY BOW! There really wasn't much to do besides what she had been doing. If she stopped the thing would just keep coming. This was a good skill and so far she was glad to have gotten to try it. Again the ghoul got an arrow and launched it at the mannequin. This time was perfect. The arrow hit it dead in the center and knocked it back into place. She was doing good, and hopefully was almost done. YOU HAVE MY BOW! This time she got her arrow off a bit strangely. Like an earlier one it seemed to have hit the target but not damage it. YOU HAVE MY BOW! Holly was getting into a rhythm. In almost one movement she grabbed a new arrow, notched it, pulled back and released. Even if her aim was off she was decent. Or at least she thought she was. Maybe she could take this up back at school? The mannequin kept coming but the arrow stuck, better than nothing. YOU HAVE MY BOW! As the mannequin tried to fight its way free, it continued to randomly jerk and spasm. The Reaper ghoul took her time on this last shot, knowing that it wasn't moving, that as long as it didn't manage to pull its leg from the plank, she was safe. And then the arrow let fly... ...and headshot, boom! Well, not really boom (sadly), but the mannequin did shudder one more time and then fall limp. Mitzi let out a whoop, punching toward the sky with the hand holding her bow, but then looked around furtively as she realized that she may have disturbed the other students. But at this point, it seemed like many of the others were finished, and had already headed back down. She was a little disappointed with how far her mannequin had gotten, and that it had taken her so much longer to finish, but by the end she had worried that she wouldn't win at all. She'd take this victory, and with a weapon she was completely inexperienced with, and she wouldn't let anything stop her from enjoying it. Bouncing just a bit, she returned her bow to the rack and headed for the elevator. Some of the spring left her step as she had to get onto it, as after the first day she did not trust it in the least, but she still was grinning a bit when she got off. Sure, it wasn't nearly as good as the previous day, but she wasn't going to let that stop her. Time to go see what there was to do for the rest of the day. Maybe she'd even try the tower again. After all, facing her fear of heights was the best way to conquer it. ((Exiting)) SWEET VICTORY! Opponent's HP: 0! YOU HAVE MY BOW! It was all gone. Her over confidence was her weakness. Another arrow went straight past the darn mannequin. What in Jack's name was she doing wrong? YOU HAVE MY DAGGER! The strix seemed to have finally found his groove. He dodged another blow and struck out with the dagger. It found contact, though glancing, but the owl-boil seemed to continually dodge the attacks of the mannequin.
