Kaen Guruma (Flame Wheel)

Who owns the weapon: Konaga Shinji

Where it was found/Who made it: Shinji's father had the weapon made for Shinji when he was still only just entering the Academy. It was meant to be a graduation present for when Shinji was old enough and powerful enough to become the new Clan Head. Knowing his son's inevitable path into the ninja world and having a deep understanding of what Shinji's future abilities would be, Seijiro (Shinji's father) had the Flame Wheel created to give his son greater variability in combat and to supplement his nomally aggresive, more melee-heavy style. Seijiro reasoned that a long range weapon would be best to accomplish this, so, knowing his son's fascination with over-sized weapons, decided a modified windmill Shuriken would be best.

The Range of the weapon: Long, maximum throwing range of about 50m (~150 ft)

Weakness: The Flame Wheel's effectiveness is bound by the amount of preparation required to use it effectively. The activation of two of the Flame wheel's abilities counts as one jutsu, which can make it's use somewhat limiting in combat when so much else is being done at the same time. The weapon itself also provides no real bonus to the jutsu the user passes through it, it simply changes the originating position of the jutsu, and only for those of the Katon element. Use of the weapon for extended periods of time can also be quite chakra-intensive.

Description: The Flame Wheel collapses and opens like all other Fuuma shuriken, each blade stacking over the other until they are opened to form the entire weapon. Each blade of the Shuriken is just over a foot long (16 inches) each one connected to a ring at the center (which has a 3 inch diameter). The blades can be locked in place when collapsed and easily unlocked and released to assume it's full shape with the mere flick of the wrist. The blades themselves when thrown quickly begin to move and gain speed, turning the weapon into a deadly spinning shuriken capable on it's own of cutting through even large trees. Seijiro, knowing the blade would gain heavy use, had each blade tempered by a master smith, keeping the metal both as strong and as thin as possible to assure that it would stay light, yet stand up to collisions with rock, or other tempered metals without chipping or breaking.

Each blade has a distinctive kanji engraved on it, each matching a different ability within the weapon which can be activated by the chakra of the blade's owner, which in this case is obviously Shinji's. It will require him to create a sword of blood pact with the weapon, dripping his blood on the kanji to seal the weapon to him and to activate his ability to control the weapon with his chakra only. Each kanji triggers a different effect within the weapon but takes a specific set of specialized one-handed seals to activate (two executed seals/2 activated effects costs the same amount of time as performing one jutsu).

'Living Weapon' Kanji : When activated, the user is able to manipulate and control the movement of the Flame Wheel with exact precision by using only his chakra, allowing it to weave and dodge through obstacles in all directions, or even stop on a dime. This does not mean however that it always strikes it's foe. It may be easily controlled, but that doesn't mean it's faster then it's opponent, or it can't be knocked off course by other objects or a stiff wind. This connection lasts for up to three posts, but requires chakra to be maintained every post it is used.
(Activation Cost: 2 chakra points, then 2 more for every round it is manually controlled.)

'Fire' Kanji : When activated, this kanji causes the Flame Wheel to ignite and become engulfed in flame. When active, the blade emits searing heat and while spinning, it's cutting power is increased about 3 fold, easily able to slice through rock. When on fire, it is capable of igniting anything it comes in contact with, from clothes, to trees, to explosives, but it must in some way hit them. When ignited, the Flame Wheel is also immune to any of the effects of C-rank Fuuton ninjutsu or lower and will not be easily blown off course. The blade remains ignited until it comes back to the user's hand.
(Activation Cost: 3 chakra points)

'Spirit' Kanji : (Only available when the Fire Kanji has been activated) When activated, the Flame Wheel hovers in it's current position and begins to spin rapidly, creating what appears to be a flaming ring in mid-air. While in this position, it can be controlled to 'face' any direction at the user's will. During this activation, any Katon jutsu performed by the user will originate not from the user himself, but from the ring created by the spinning Flame Wheel.
(Activation Cost: 2 chakra points... and the jutsu still costs the same as it always does.)

'Wind' Kanji : This kanji, when activated enhances the speed of the Flame Wheel's movement at the cost of maneuverability. For one instance, the speed of the thrown projectile is tripled, but can only fly in a straight line up to 300 ft away, (once it is moved beyond 150 ft from the user however, it can no longer be controlled and brought back... it will simply continue to go straight until it hits something). IF the blade is ignited, the Flame Wheel is resistant to the effects of A-rank Fuuton jutsu and below and the cutting power is increased enough to slice through 2 inch thick steel with relative ease. (Though, chakra-enhanced weapons will be able to deflect the blade without being sliced through.)

Looking behind him as he ran, Shinji wasn't gaining any ground... in fact, he was losing it rather quickly. The mission hadn't gone very well and his team had been ambushed by a group of Sand ninja, one of whom was now following him deep into the forest. His legs throbbed with endless pain, the pain spreading throughout his entire body, pounding in his chest, all of it amplified five fold by the agony his augmentations had caused him. Finally reaching his limit, Shinji was beginning to slow down, but he would not allow this to be his final mission. Moving his hand behind his left hip, his hand grazed the weapon his father had given him on reaching Chuunin, removing it from the chain it was attached to around his waist.

With a flick of his wrist, the collapsed blades opened up around the circle he held onto to just as he turned around in mid air to meet his opponent who was still charging at him. Letting the Flame wheel loose, Shinji tossed the blade directly at his foe, performing the unique one handed seals his father taught him as the blade suddenly ignited in flames before it began weaving and dodging through the trees with amazingly precise movements. His pursuant was no slouch however as he quickly removed his sword, bashing the Flame Wheel off of it's course, sending it sailing into a nearby tree, slicing a large chunk into it's trunk as well as lighting some of the surrounding foliage aflame as well. With his opponent in quick pursuit, Shinji continued to dodge between the trees, forming the seals again as he activated 'the living weapon' once more, the Flame Wheel seemingly pulling itself out of the tree as it continued it's course through the woods at his command.

Not dreaming that the fuuma shuriken would be coming back to him so quickly, Shinji pursuer continued after him, managing to pin him in a corner of the forest against a mountain ridge. Turning around, Shinji suddenly flashed through a strange set of hand seals as the shuriken grew closer to his enemy, activating the Spirit Kanji as the Wheel began to turn, the flames growing stronger as it hovered in position behind his opponent who was preoccupied with charging Shinji. As the enemy ran forward, Shinji flashed through a series of hand seals, holding his hand out in the well known position for the activation of the Goukakyuu no jutsu. Immediately, his opponent flashed through a series of hand seals, slamming his hands to the ground... "Doton: Iwan no Doomu". Immediately the ground rose up, forming a rock wall all around him on all sides as the Grand Fireball technique erupted not from Shinji's position, but from the Flame Wheel's as it crashed into the barrier, but was unable to break through.

With his strategy ruined, Shinji could only smile as he knew his opponent was trapped inside. Not wanting to give him the chance to recover, Shinji quickly launched into a final one-handed seal, activating the 'Wind' kanji as it suddenly broke free of it's hovering position and shot forward at incredible speed in a straight path right fro the last position where Shinji had seen his enemy. With the Flame Wheel already ignited and the wind kanji activated, the weapon simply sliced through the barrier of hardened and compressed rock like butter, the high pitched sound of steel effortlessly slicing through a barrier lingering in the air only seconds before the rock dome around his opponent crumbled. Left in the rubble, Shinji's beloved promotion present lay solidly stuck in the ground right between the two halves of his pursuant, the man having been sliced directly in two by the blade's immense speed and cutting power. His only pursuer dead, Shinji collected his weapon and quickly made his way back to the Iwagakure.

@Cobra: Looks good to me. It's been a while since I've had someone apply for an elemental weapon that I didn't have to go through and ask a lot of questions about. At the sake of saving me some time (although if you really want it, I'll edit this and put it here), I'm going to forgo my usual approval banner and just say APPROVED!

Name of weapon: Water Meteors
Who owns the weapon: Tsukihana Hakke
Where it was found/Who made it: Tsuki's sensei, Shion, developed the weapon specifically for Tsuki, who couldn't seem to adapt to the way of the sword. Originally, there was a simple rope holding the two 'scales' together, though this presented the issue of being sliced or cut. In order to solve this issue, Shion wove together a crap load of ninja wire, making the 'rope' much stronger and durable. The two 'scales' at the end resemble metal cups, or pots. They are made out of a really heavy metal, which gives them great bashing abilities. What is so special about them, is that they hold a vast amount of water. In order to have been able to store the water, Shion used a sealing technique.
The Range of the weapon: Close [Can be used as Projectile]
Weakness: The Water Meteor is heavy, and can run out of water. In order to have it be as if it was a staff, at its full potential, the user must keep it in constant motion, in a spinning manner. When the Water Meteor stops spinning, it is merely a 'rope' with the metal cups.
Description: [x] The Water Meteor is constructed out of heavy metal cups, with great bashing ability, and multiple ninja wire woven together, to resemble rope. The rope itself spans about 5 ft. The metal cups are beautifully decorated, and can hold much more water than they seem to be able to. At Genin, the cups can hold about a 5x5 amount of water, enough for a pond. At Chuunin, the cups can hold about a 10x10 amount of water. Jounin 15x15, and S-rank 20x20

Tsuki cocked her head to the side, observing the odd weapon Shion Sonozaki had presented to her. She ran a hand through her short red hair, giving it that 'I'm going for that messy style, but making it seem like I'm not trying' look. The green haired woman, raised an eyebrow, folding her arms across her chest. "Well?" Tsuki walked around the table once more, prodding at the metal cup at one end. "Well...what is it?" The taller, though not by much woman sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Let me show you, rather than tell you...again." Shion grabbed the center of the weapon, where there was a rubber grip wrapped around the woven ninja wire. She picked it up with ease, placing the rope behind her neck. The rope was rather large, but that was all for the better. Shion placed her hands just above the metal cups, and assumed a perfect stance, one leg lifted and bent infront of her. Her arms were slanted, one moving at a 45 degree angle downward, and the other in the opposite direction. "Pay attention, this is the only time I'm going to show you this." Tsuki sat atop a table, and readied herself for the show.

Shion lowered her leg, and began to spin the rope, swifly bringing her arms over head, removing the rope from her neck, and began to spin it over head, letting the weight of the cups do most of the work. When the cups seemed to have reached top speeds, she bent her legs, and then using her entire body, tossed the weapon into the air. The momentum of the weights kept the spinning motion going, making the rope seem as stiff as a staff in the air. Shion fell into a graceful backward roll, making a complete revolution before stopping on her back, with her knees bent to her chest. Her hands were behind her head, ready to spring herself up. When the weapon began to descend, still spinning, Shion used her entire body once more to kick it into the air, the cups still keeping it spinning. Shion performed a quick handstand, just before planting her feet on the floor and reaching her hands up into the air, grabbing the weapon out of the sky. She let her body spin with it, and then used only her hands. In this manner, she spun the weapon around her body, in the air, behind her, under her, and more. The entire time, the ninja wire rope stayed as stiff as a staff, which Tsuki understood to be the point of the spinning. Tsuki had thought that was the end, but Shion wasn't done just yet. She tossed the weapon into the air once more, this time performing a single seal, which opened the tops of the cups, which were still spinning. With a quick pause, she continued on to perform another set of seals as the weapon descended. Water began to pour out of the cups, more water than what seemed to be able to fit into the metal cups. Shion was obviously controlling the amount of water that had poured out, as well as what the water was doing via water manipulation.

Initially, there was about a basketball size amount of water that had poured out from the cups, but it was now in a thin line, following the motion of the cups as they spun about. With one hand, Shion spun the weapon, and with the other, performed seals. At the end of her sequence, the water that had come from the cups turned to razor sharp ice, which now gave the weapon a buzz-saw complexion. Shion moved close to a dummy, spinning the weapon and jumped into the air, contorting her body so that she was parallel to the floor. With the newly crafted buzz-saw, Shion sliced open the dummy, causing the pellets it was packed with to fall out. She then backed up, and began to slow down the speed of the spinning. Shion grabbed one end of the weapon, hoisting one of the cups to her, and spinning the other end over her head. The water had now recollected into the cups, being stored for later use. She moved to another dummy, and, with perfect timing, released the ninja wire rope, letting the metal cup fly straight at the dummy's head. When it connected, it snapped it's head clean off, suggesting blunt damage. Shion recoiled the weapon while walking backward. This time, she grabbed the weapon by one end, and began to spin the rest of it over head, this time tossing it towards a few more dummies. The ninja wire rope and special metal cups flew through the air, slamming into one of the dummies in its mid section. The ropes began to spin around the dummy, wrappings around it as the bola would do.

"Well, that's how you use this, in a nutshell." Shion said as she coiled the weapon, placing it back on the table. Tsuki's mouth was open, as she was at a loss for words. This weapon, which hadn't struck her as deadly, nor defensive, proved to be quite useful and in many different ways. "It's yours, so give it a name, and learn how to use it!" Shion shouted, ordering Tsuki in her usual way. "Water Meteor...perfect!" Without having to be told twice, Tsuki made a grab for the weapon, only to find that it was quite heavy. She hoisted it onto her neck, much similar to how Shion had, and almost fell over. Tsuki tried vainly to get the weapon to spin as Shion had, but failed miserably, placing it back onto her neck. Shion walked over, and smacked Tsuki on the back, making her topple over. "Good luck tomato-sauce!" She called out as she walked away. A loud whooshing sound was made as Water Meteor soared through the air, sailing directly to the right of Shion's face, making her stop dead in her tracks. The metal cup smashed into the far wall, embedding itself. Tsuki had managed to throw it hard enough, via spinning, though hadn't gotten the aiming down. Comments on her hair color never boded well with her. "Crap..." Shion's eyes turned into two black holes straight to hell as a demonic smile fell over her face. Tsuki didn't waste time, and turned on her heels running away as fast as she could. "TSUKI GET YOUR a** BACK HERE!" Shion shouted as she chased Tsuki away, off into the distance, though her rather loud shouts were still heard.

@ Kay: Ok, so I'm assuming that this is a C-Ranked Weapon correct?

Well, 'tripling' the power like that is a little over the top. How about.. doubling the strength and power of the strike. But from when I was graded on ranking and power, anything that makes your strength double like that, it will have to be something of a B-rank tech. or something of that matter.

@Lament: How much water does the two cups hold? For example, how many strikes to the cups must be implied for the cups to run out of water.

- Are the two 'scales' or cups the exact size as the the one described in the link? Because any bigger I think it would lose the quality of the weapon.

-Overall looks awesome. Love seeing some Chinese weaponry being utilized =^^=
