Demios sighed, regaining his color. He started after her, taking one of her hands. "If your stomach hurts then i'll help you."
Jake sat down with a sigh. "The last time he got extremely angry he blew a moon to smitherines. Just blew it from the inside out. That poor planet never stood a chance."
"I'm sorry, I told you I hated intolerant people and you suggested we go to the planet that shunned every outsider. I tried to reason with people but you just can't reason with ignorance and...." Sylvia laid a hand on his shoulder, giving him another look. "Any way, it doesn't happen often, if ever. I'm sorry."

"I'll be fine," Elistral assured him, squeezing his hand. She remembered the way back to the healer's tent and started off. "And I'd rather not have Strider get any angrier than we heard him be..."
"That's...that's pretty bad..." Rore said, going pale at hearing Jake's recount. "If you're an angry drunk, I'm never drinking with you, then..."

"I don't know if it's even possible to make him even angrier, and if you could, I don't want to see it." Demios started as well, following her. "Though you know, I don't think it'll be too bad. He's known me for a long time. I've helpped him out of some tough situations."
"I saved the population, placing them on a seperate inhabital planet but they refused to accept any further help." Strider said annoyed. "I hate ignorance."

Elistral skirted around a two people carrying an empty stretcher and walking hurriedly before replying. "Let us hope he remembers that. I didn't know he could be so fatherly."
"If you can't make a horse drink, then leave it alone." Rore reasoned, remembering his own experiences with stubborn bull-headed people. They were far less extravagant that Strider's of course.

"Well you may not believe this but he always thought of you and your mother when we were away on different planets of parrallel worlds. He'd always look at his emrald necklace as he looked at the sky. I only asked once but I remember asking him what he was always thinking about. He said he was thinking of two individuals he cared for very much. I never asked about it." Demios looked longingly at the sky as a few birds passed over head. "Those were great times. So many good stories."
"Oh remember the time we got stranded on that planet infested with huge insectoid creatures? Me and Demios carried him over half the planet to get him to the only water on the whole damn planet just to have him wake up feeling fine. He had an out of body experience and if we had just sat still and waited he would've gotten up and we would have left." Jake was making hand gestures as he spoke to kinda play out what happened.
"Oh, or the time we got stuck in limbo? Fenrir was about to die of laughter after we explained how we had broken the gate into the place. Jake had sneezed, blowing up the portal." Strider was laughing.

"Really?" Elistral looked down at her brooch, pinned to the collar of her coat. "I never knew that. What was he like then?"
"And I still don't know how you did it!" Fenrir peered up at Jake from the floor. "Unfortunately after I tried to get you guys out, we all ended up getting lost anyway. Underwater, too, if I'm right.

"Very reserved. All that mattered was the mission. After that was everything else. Like he was just wanting to get things over with, ya know?" Demios looked down at his own silver pendant. "I never noticed before but each of you three have an emrald leaf piece of jewelry."
"Those hydra creatures were creepy. Their skin wriggled and changed color constantly, and they tasted horrible." Jake spat as he recounted the beasts. "Like bad eggs. But nothing was as bad as those flying faerie things. They looked so cute too."
"Yeah until they try to poke your eye out with tiny spears screaming obscene things at you. I always hated limbo, all but Fenrir's house." Strider leaned back, tired just thinking of it.

Elistral nodded, noticing that they were almost at the tent. "Yes. I guess it's some sort of family symbol or something. It was never explained to me."
"You should come visit sometime," Fenrir hummed happily, wishing he was still there at that moment. "Selena'd like the company." He sat up, ears perked as he remembered what he'd brought. "I still have my camera. She'd love a group picture of all of you!"
"Who's Selena?" Rore asked. "Your wife?" As Fenrir confirmed it, Rore smiled. But then confusion was on his face again. "I didn't know you have one."
"I do. Sorta."

Demios nodded as he made his way to the tent, walking in on smiles. "You asked to see us?"
Strider's attention turned to Demios in a second, scrutinizing him. "Where's Elistral?"
The air in the tent had suddenly gone from humble and jovial to apprehensive and tense. Jake sat back in his chair, hoping for the best.

"I'm right here," Elistral walked in after Demios, seeing that everyone was in the tent at that moment. Hopefully things wouldn't get too out of hand.
Rore glanced from Strider to Elistral to Demios. Of all things, he'd definitely try to go easier on his own daughter after seeing the previous reaction.
Fenrir laid back down, setting his head on his paws again. If I have to force them, I'll get that picture. he thought to himself with a secret smile.

"So then, how do you want to do this?" Demios stood as he would in front of an elder from the city's judicial branch of the government, being questioned about radical ideas and new policies, with his legs slightly spread and his arms crossed behind his back, staring into the elder's eyes confidently.
Strider returned Demios stare with his own, unshaken by his confidence. "Okay, firstly, i'd like to explain that though it has been a long time, if ever, that i've been much of a father to Elistral I believe it's time I did. So with that said tell me why I shouldn't destroy you right here." Strider's eyes held no bluffs as he stared at the pair before him.

"Leaving political value out," Elistral answered with a calm tone. "You know what it's like to care for someone. I know that you wish to protect your daughter now after all these years, but I am more than capable of doing that. And Demios especially. He is your friend."

"I know you're just trying to show that you care but if you can't trust me then who would you trust? You know me well enough to know that i'm more then capable to take care of her and don't make me mention the that time in that parallel world." Demios pointed at Strider.
Strider blinked a few times. "I thought we swore to never speak of it."
"Oh but I dare to speak of it."
"You wouldn't"
"I would."
Jake had a confused look. "Wait what are we talking about? I don't remember anything worth not speaking of."
"Don't worry about it." Strider looked at Demios. They had both brought up valid points and he really didn't want anyone else to know about that....time. Sylvia placed a hand on his shoulder with a kind face, wanting him to understand and Strider huffed, laying down on the bed facing away from the group. "Very well. Just leave me to think, all of you. I need time to accept this."

"I hope you do." Elistral brushed past Fenrir who was already making his merry way to the exit, tail in the air. She bent down painfully to give Strider a loose-armed hug, mumbling, "I really do, dad." Then she left the tent as Fenrir had.
Rore decided to wait a moment for Jake, holding the flap up with an elbow. On a whim he glanced around for his dented chest plate and ,finding it in one of the other emergency set-ups, moved off to get it quickly before returning to wait for the inu boy.

"You coming Sylvia?" Jake asked as he hopped up to Rore's shoulders again.
"No, someone has to make sure he doesn't do anything crazy. I'll be here." Sylvia smiled as Jake left, followed by Demios who followed Elistral. After everyone had left she moved her chair to the opposite side of the bed to face Strider. "Hey, what's wrong?"
Strider mumbled a bit and looked at Sylvia. "After all this time I had hoped i'd be able to be more of a father to her but in the end she gets taken away from us just as quickly."
Sylvia smiled and laid her hand on his. "You silly man, she isn't being taken away from us. She's merely found someone she cares for very much. Besides whenever we came along she didn't us to be her parents anymore regardless. She grew up without us." Sylvia looked outside the tent at Elistral. "All we can do is love and support her."
Strider looked away, ashamed of himself and nodded. He still didn't like it but knew there was nothing more he could do.
