Draco Silverlight If your friends character is a Chunin... then that means they have probably been in the guild a lot longer than you. It also means they are probably one of the adamant regulars of the guild, cause not many people make it that far. they dont? Ok nevermind then... plus everything is realy complicated...

Lol, you are correct Konako. But a lot of people find it challenging and like it, because it gives them the chance to prove that they are better.

when there are so many forms to fill out and things to read. its overwhelming... Then genin cant have any jutsu you make up... I have to make sperate forms for both kekkei genkei and a clan... and I know if it's overwhelming for ME Its going to be impossible for My friend... Especially without me going first to guide her though it. That and in order for us to get our characters in here right she'd have to go through everything first and be active for a long time in order for her character to become a Chunin before I can even start... I realy like your idea of the point system... but the whole leveling up... and all that... When I fist joined I thought it was going to be somthing Like this: http://dreammaer.deviantart.com/favourites/44972131#/d1kuq1uWhich allows for a lot more creativity in creating your character and maybe letting people start as chunin or genin but then have to earn being a jonin... Quote: Please don't say that limitations destroy creativity because I find that they do the opposite. Creativity and differences between characters aren't in the outside things... the techniques, the weapons etc. Of course, the personalities of the characters will naturally make them different. Someone brash may decide to make a melee fighter, a more sneaky person may be a long ranged bow specialist, etc. But for things that really distinguish characters from each other you don't need a system for. So you don't have to worry The system is only used for things extraeneous to personality. That didn't come out right, but I hope you know what I mean >_> I disagree. some limitations are good but there is more to a character then just their personality... Abilies... Tallents.... flaws... These can also be a huge part in developing a character. they can also influence the personality Even when when applied to reality. Aren't the things you are good or bad at a central part of who you are? Two people can have very alike personalities but Imagine the Diferance Between them and their lives if one was a natural genius At sciance and math and was born without legs, and the other was an amazing artist and so naturaly active and agile that they excelled at every sport they tried? I'm not saying that I am against all limitations. (once again look at the link) Just that I also need a role-play where I am more free to develop my character and what they are. I'm sorry for wasting your time.

It's your choice if you think you can't be creative and work around this system...
If you haven't noticed, plenty of people can do so... the current D20 system that is being used in this guild is V.3 of the original created by the guild captain and the first users.
It has been stripped, and given a spit shine, and other things... this system works with creative minds...

Konako_Akari when there are so many forms to fill out and things to read. its overwhelming... You do realize that this is a literate guild right? And with a game system with this kind of complexity, you have to have be descriptive about what does what and how things work.Konako_Akari Then genin cant have any jutsu you make up... I have to make sperate forms for both kekkei genkei and a clan... and I know if it's overwhelming for ME Its going to be impossible for My friend... Especially without me going first to guide her though it. From what I understand about all the different forms you have to fill out, the join request form is there to evaluate people as prospective guild members. The RP academy form is there to evaluate people as roleplayers.
You can make up a genin-level jutsu, but you'd have to get it approved. And yes, you have to fill out a form for a custom kekkei genkai and a clan. That subforum is there to make sure that custom clans or custom techniques aren't ridiculously overpowered (if it was, the custom would be rejected). I've never been a crew member, but I have seen some of the customs that have been submitted and they have a tendency to be similar to already existing techniques or clans. Hence, the custom forms' secondary function: cutting down on redundancy.
And like plenty of people have stated before, if you're feeling overwhelmed you can always ask questions.Konako_Akari That and in order for us to get our characters in here right she'd have to go through everything first and be active for a long time in order for her character to become a Chunin before I can even start... Starting from scratch and leveling up to Chuunin isn't the only way for your friend to obtain a Chuunin character. People have made more than one character sheet, and not every single character created started off as an academy student. Some get created as Genin or Jounin, and if you want proof of that, look at the chart here.
But there is a catch. Yes, she would still have to make a character start off as an academy student and go through most of the curriculum. But there is a reason for that. That rule is in place mostly to ensure that's she has experienced and fully understood all the aspects of the game system (How to properly distribute stats when leveling up, what to do when training, how combat actually functions etc.). Think of it as the tutorial at the beginning of a game, it might be boring to get through, but it's there to make sure you know the basics. Once it's over, other features will open up for you.
If she's done with the academy curriculum, and she still wants her Chuunin character, she could ditch her academy student and pre-make one.Konako_Akari I realy like your idea of the point system... but the whole leveling up... and all that... When I fist joined I thought it was going to be somthing Like this: http://dreammaer.deviantart.com/favourites/44972131#/d1kuq1uWhich allows for a lot more creativity in creating your character and maybe letting people start as chunin or genin but then have to earn being a jonin... I checked the guild's front page, and I'm 100% certain that it mentioned a game system. And maybe you aren't familiar with d20, but game systems involve leveling and experience points.
And maybe I'm wrong or I'm missing something here, but I don't see much of a difference in creativity between that system and this system. The only difference I see is that you don't get to make your first character a Chuunin.Konako_Akari I disagree. some limitations are good but there is more to a character then just their personality... Abilies... Tallents.... flaws... These can also be a huge part in developing a character. they can also influence the personality. Even when when applied to reality. No one is saying your character can't have abilities, talents, or flaws. If you say your character is smart, then you would dump stat points in intelligence. If you say your character can play a flute, then you would inform us in your character's profile. If you say your character is a genjutsu expert, then you would have your character learn genjutsu techniques when he or she qualifies for it. As for flaws... if anything, flaws are encouraged (the game system is there to prevent godmodding). If your character was a weak skinny guy, then you wouldn't invest stat points in strength. And that last example you used of an amazing artist that is naturally gifted at every sport? We call those Mary Sues, something without flaws.

Konako don't let people use their fancy rants to persuade you to stay if you don't want to. This guild is ultimately for people to have fun. If you don't think that you would have as much fun here then it's no big deal.

Konako. From the first day I joined this guild five years ago, I knew I was going to stay. If you don't know right now, then I'll tell you there isn't much hope. It's all about the strength of will, whether or not you are willing to put the work in and read. Former Crewsmember Istian once said mastering the System is not impossible as long as you have eyes.
In return, it will be very rewarding and fun, and that we do promise. We already made the best offers we could, if you ever need help, any of us will be around to answer questions. And the best thing is that here in Wotn not just the mods do that, every member takes care of each other. I'll like to think of this more as a family rather.
However much we'll always love a new member, if in the long term you won't be a regular, I see no need to get our hopes up. That is all I will have to say on the matter.

I figured out what to do! I'll go through it with my character's older sister! That way I can figure things out better with her.
I have a question... Do I submit my custom clan and kekkei genkai first?
and would other members then be able to create characters belonging to the clan and with the kekkei genkai? Or would I be able to control the clan and all since I came up with it? I'm really concerned about that.... I spent ages coming up with this clan and all
