Lord of Armageddon I don't mean to start something but aren't diseases technically population control? (Although, looking at our world population, we can see how much they've failed). I'm glad we might be well on the way of finding a cure for HIV/AIDS, but still...
I'd still rather people not die of HIV/AIDS.

I kind of get the whole "Population Control" standpoint. But to me that's like "Oh, why bother curing cancer? Lets just let them all die."

I'd still rather people not die of HIV/AIDS. HIV/AIDS don't exactly KILL people, per say. They just weaken immune systems so other diseases can move in and do the job themselves.

There are better ways to control population, women's education in areas with really high birthrates actually brings the birthrate down, which is a much better way to control population than upping the death rate.
