((ENTERS))
Core enters wearing black studded skinny jeans , and a sleeveless silk black blouse , surprisingly modern for someone so old . Her golden brown hair sways a bit in the breeze , and she rearranges her bangs so they cover her red eyes once again . She knocks on the brick wall next to Kara`s alleyway . " Kara ?? " she calls out , " are you here ? I going to wash my dress and tiara in the fountain , do you want me to .... " It was then that she caught the scent of human on the breeze . " Are you accompanying visitors ? " Core asks carefully .

Kara walked slowly toward her alleyway, walking behind Kile who seemed to be knowing where he was going. Kara sighed. They reached the area right by where her alleyway was and Core was there. Kara started to panic. Core was still covered in blood.
Kile wasn't surprised when he saw the other girl covered in blood. "Hey i remember you. You were in the graveyard. You knocked Josh out." He said then smiled.
Kara yet again stood dumbfounded. He wasn't supposed to remember that. Maybe she hadn't done the thing correctly. She then noticed that Kile just kept walking forward and turned to enter her alleyway. When he was gone down there Kara went over to Core. "Um.... i'm confused......." She said eventually.

" This cannot be good .. " murmured Core . She sniffed where he had walked past just moments ago ... " Are you sure he`s human ? " she asked , " he smells human ... but so do you , after spending so much time with them . I ... I can`t tell . It`s almost like he`s scentless . "
" You should go ask him about what he thinks he knows . Try to deny it , but if he`s really accurate ... it`s okay to let some humans know the truth . I , I need to wash these , " Core finished lamely , holding out the bloody dress and dirty tiara . She then walked over to the fountain and dipped the dress and tiara in the water . She decided to wash her hands too , since the water was readily available . The blood came off easily , since a caster had charmed it to make it clean easily . Soon the fountain became tinted slightly red , and the reflecting moon looked eerier than ever .

Kara nodded. She walked to the back of the alleyway. Kile was sitting down on the bed. "Um...uh....how...." She couldn't get a sentence out for some reason.
Kile laughed. "Listen i know your a Tainted just like i know your friend is a Vampire. I've know for awhile where you've lived and i know alot about you. There does that answer some of your questions?" He told Kara.
Kara for the umteenth time stood dumbfounded. What was she gonna tell Core. She pondered for a minute. "Why do you think Core is a Vampire? And what the heck is this Tainted thing your taking about?" she asked Kile. Hoping it sounded like she was confused.

Core`s ear twitched a bit when she heard the word vampire and started listening to the conversation . Obviously Kile knew a lot more than she had given him credit for . She was back at Kara`s alleyway in a flash , soaking dress and tiara in one hand , and with the other she took her sword off of her back , and pointed one end towards the boy . " You`re not a hunter , are you ? " she asked , eyes narrowing .

Kara sighed. She thought she was supposed to make him believe that she didn't know what he was talking about. "Hey...Core don't you think that if he was a hunter he would've taken out a rouge Tainted by now...." She said to Core. Kara looked at Kile. "What are you?" She asked him.
Kile just laughed. When he got a glare from Kara he stopped. " Sorry sorry, its just your friend there thought i was a hunter. Its kinda funny. No i'm not a hunter. I'm an Incubus." Kile told them. "I've just been around humans way too long and i now smell like them." He explained.
Another Tainted. And right under my nose. Kara thought to herself. "So thats how you knew what today was." She said. "And how you knew where i lived." She added.

Core lowered her sword feeling relaxed in his presence . She put her sword away and sat down next to Kile , and then placed her tiara and dress next to him . She leaned in slowly , holding Kile`s stare the whole time , and then sniffed his shoulder daintily . " I smell it now , " she said , then looked up at Kara , " definitely a Tainted . " But then realization hit and she stood up again and jumped back , taking out her sword . She then asked the same question she asked Kara when they first met . " Are you hostile to those whom differ from you ? "

Kile laughed. "If i'm hostile to those who differ from me you would be dead by now my dear." He smiled at her. "My name is Killender Fosteron or Kile Fosts" He said as he extended his hand to the vampire. "Whats your name?" He asked.
Kara was really confused. If he knew what she was why hadn't he told her. Unless he was a rouge Tainted as well.

Core laughed a little , " you`d be surprised how much thought some people put into their kill . " She put away her sword , and , walking at human pace , went towards Kile , then did a respectable bow . " Catherine when I was born , changed to Courtney mid 1900s , and currently Core . My last name is Rathobee . I appreciate you respecting my privacy . You`ll go far with that , " she appraised .

Kara sighed. She went over and sat down on her bed. "So what you doing here in New York then?" She asked him.
Kile smiled. "You welcome Core. I prefer to respect people like that. If i didn't i'd get into alot of trouble with people at school." He said happily. "Well i came here cause i had a few contacts here that were willing to take care of me" He told Kara. "Oh and can i know why you knocked Josh out?" He asked Core.

Core brushed away her bangs and showed Kile her red eyes . " He was getting pretty close . Plus he was trying to woo me , " she answered , dropping her hand and setting it on her lap . " I`ve never been into love , " she admitted , looking at both Kile and Kara . Her gaze then rested on some odd looking objects . " What are those ? " she asked .

"Haha just like him. He's never been to careful about that. You see he's also an Incubus. He shows it more than i do." Kile laughed again. "Listen why don't you both come to the park tonight. The others will be happy to see both you and your new friend" He said to Kara.
"Um.... ok..." Kara said hesitantly. "Oh um... those are mine." She told Core.
Kile got up. "Ok well we'll see you there in about two hours." He told them. "Oh and Happy Birthday Kara" He added before he disappeared.

" It is your birthday ? " Core asked excitedly , " that`s wonderful ! " She went over to Kara and gave her a large squeeze , though was careful not to hurt her . " Let`s go ! Right now ! I`m sorry I didn`t get you a present , I would`ve if I had known !! " Core then placed her slightly wet tiara on her head , and folded up her dress neatly , she then scooped up Kara and had her hold the dress . She then ran off towards to park , not a single human noticing them at her pace .

Shiloh spaced out. She didn't hear what Kalan said at first and had stopped. She was staring at a building down the street like it meant something. That was where she was living now. She hated the building. Then she blinked.
"Oh..? So a guardian does what then? protects people? What if that person doesn't want to be protected?" Shiloh asked. Shiloh didn't hear the first part. If she ha,d she would have gone into a fit so lucky Kalan. She sighed and turned away from the girl and wandered forward. Guess it was time to go home
"Listen - I'm rather tired. It was nice talking to you, but I think its time to say our good byes. If you need anything - I'll be hanging out at the graveyard I guess..." Shiloh said spotting the graveyard in the distance.

Kalan was stunned for a moment. She only stared blankly as Shiloh walked forward. The girl had spoken the same words she had been told by someone close. And it cut deeply. Kalan winced a little, pulling her arms back to her sides slowly. She just wanted it to stop. How could Shiloh not understand? Maybe there was nothing to understand. Maybe being a guardian was the only way Kalan could atone for what had happened. For what she had let happen.
The girl stood quietly staring at a lamp post across the darkened street. For some reason everything made sense to her, but others just couldn't get it. "Then.." the hushed words barely escaped her mouth, as a depression fell over her pixie-like face. "Then that person, who doesn't wish for protection, understands why I do it." She fell silent again. Shiloh's words had hurt, drawing back darker memories. Her crystal blue eyes glanced up to Shiloh, betraying her. "Yeah.. I should get back to Asher." She didn't expect the girl to comprehend her reasoning anymore. She had made her position more than clear.
Kalan forced a smile and a wave, then turned, heading back into the labyrinth of night shadowed buildings. She could feel the breeze pass her following Shiloh and could smell the cool scent of the forest as it grew fainter. It was going to be another long night.
