"Of course," Coailiann muttered darkly, "I suggest we all move to the training room with the big dome where nobody else can DIE."
Of course, with their luck, the electricity being out would have knocked out the power to the dome itself anyway, even if it was magically warded. After all, the garden door was as well.
That hadn't stopped Talbar.
"Well what do you suggest we do, then, twiddle our thumbs and wait for death?"
It wasn't often Coailiann was a b***h, but seriously, the situation was taking a toll on the sidhe.

"Is there any way to escape?" Ari asked the being the obvious, her strength more so there, enough that she could accutally sit. "No offense Kay, but fighting isn't our first priority, nor is hiding." She took a deep breath, still feeling quite dizzy, "We need to find a way to get us out of this inbetween, if we can't manage that it doesn't matter how well we defend or if we can fight, eventually we will run out, run dry and we will still be stuck here, then what?" She looked at the girl stright on, hoping that the one everyone seemed to be listening to would understand.

The headquarters started shaking again, causing the big-screen television to topple over and break, glass shooting across the floor in a wave. The shaking continued, this time more violently before stopping and the feeling of actually dropping would be able to be felt. There was no longer anything solid beneath the In Between and the headquarters and they were free-falling. Or, rather, the headquarters was.
The sensation lasted five minutes before a sickening thud rang out, causing the headquarters to jar once more, one of the ornate chandeliers hanging from the incredibly high ceiling crashing down and shattering.

"I didn't suggest fighting or hiding," Kay said irritably, eyeing the woman, "I suggested we all move to the training room where the big dome is so nobody else can die. I did not say fighting nor hiding in that sentence."
Definitely sinking into bad mood mode. NOT good.
"And to answer your que---" Coailiann wasn't able to finish her thought. The jarring of the headquarters and the distinct feeling of falling caused the girl to clutch her stomach and turn a rather disturbing shade of green. Or, would have, had she any color left. Instead, grey flooded to her white face.
"What the HELL was that?"
Aaaand then the chandelier crashed...and she screamed, loudly, as glass flooded the ground. What a time NOT to wear shoes.

Over in the area of the couches, something scrambled to hide itself once more; the jostling of the furniture had revealed its hiding place under the couch, and it just couldn't afford to be spotted. Not unless it were on its terms.
It was stronger, stronger now than ever before. It wasn't especially willing to call this situation a "stroke of luck"- coming upon a group of living under attack wasn't its concept of a good time, especially so after one had been promptly slaughtered. However, in those final moments of death, it had been able to siphon away some of the dying girl's energy, taking in a part of her essence- and, more to the point, keeping it all from being stolen by that ugly brute of a troll.
But now it felt vulnerable, more vulnerable than ever before. If it were spotted, it could be in horrible danger... it might be sent Down even further, or even wiped clear out of existence. Due caution was necessary.
Even so... it had to help. Somehow, it had to... it just wasn't sure how it could, yet. Carefully peeking out, it tried to check and see if anyone had spotted it- and, if anyone had, if it could motion them to silence before it were revealed.

Shira had been only following the others, helpless in battle. And this is what happens. The Death of Danny was a gigantic eye-opener for Shira that they might not make it out alive. When Jorianth arrived she was wary, this was still another among the shadows and he could not be trusted. At least not by her. With knowledge of more creatures coming to suck the life out of them she panicked. Since she'd never been here before, nor knew about anything that was going on, she let the others decide what was their next course of action was. All this talk of "the in between" was making her head spin.
She wanted to comfort the small child who had seemed the most stressed besides the plant child, but as when she took a step towards Coailiann she felt the quaking and actually kept her balance for one. But then the floor gave out from under her. Shira screamed as she experianced the worst feeling that could have ever come over her. Falling through the air her stomach lurched, there was not a more horrible experiance to her; this was one reason why she avoided roller coasters.
EDIT: Shira finally felt herself crash to the ground on her side. She lout a gasp of pain and a few tears, though the tears came mostly from the freefall she'd just felt and couldn't take. All of this was really starting to ware her down. Just when she felt like it was the end of the world she noticed a strange form out of the corner of her eye. She sat up abruptly and scooted back, watchin to see if it was going to attack her and if she should scream.

Instinctively Nicolai spun to grab a hold of his child, others be damned at this point. He scooped him up carefully, waking him, and clung tight. Babies and collisions didn't mix. Especially with flying glass.
He braced himself against the bar, just ahead of the playpen. Wiko gave a frightened howl, nearly piercing his eardrums.

To stop moving. To not be able to talk. Xerksis pursed his lips, but he took the answer. Later he could ask Kyo for detail, when she wasn't so preoccupied. Alright, so dying is bad. Then the whole place began to shake and everything seemed to start crashing. Xerk yelped, clinging closer to the fox until it passed.
Grunting softly but still shaking a bit from the shock, the Illithid set his head upon Yashi's shoulder dociley... and then caught sight of something moving behind the couch. What was that? Xerk blinked at it, opening his mouth to say something, and yet reaching out with his mind to see if it were semi-intelligent. Maybe that would be a better way of talking.

Ari grabbed onto the couch until all the motion stopped. She was gaining more of a headache due to it. Well if Kay was wanting to do this, she'd let kay do it. It wasn't that kay had said fight or hide, but her first thought wasn't on escape, it was move to another little hole, where everyone would be trapped until another black thing broke into there too. But Ari was really too sleepy to try to explain. Her energy was comming back but slowly, and that was really too long for Ari with all that was going on.
Somehow Art had managed her way from the play pin over to her mother in all the ruckus, Ari smiled at the girl, "You were such a good girl, when we get out of here mommy will get you something for being such a good girl Artemis." Ari picked up the child and held her, just as the glass shattered on the floor. Ari considered it just in time as she handed back the wand to Artemis, with a kiss and a thank you.
Ari watched everything from her seemingly safly placed couch. only the TV near her had caused any major problems with the falling, although Ari still felt dizzy. She looked and saw danny on the ground cold and motionless, she looked over and saw the baby whom Danny watched over, in such a state that Ari closed her eyes remembering. "Art, when this is done you should play with Vanja ok?" Art nodded and clinged onto her mother in the chaos.

"... Ah," said Jorianth at last, when all the falling was ended. Somehow, he had seemed to keep his footing during the fall; brushing a few shards of glass off his shoulder, his voice was somewhat distasteful as he picked around the next words. "In addition, it seems that this place is losing energy at a fairly quick pace. That was this place going Down. If you cannot bring it and yourselves back to the living world, it will likely continue to lose energy, and eventually drag all of you to a final death at the bottom of in between."
Always the bearer of good news, wasn't he?
"Unfortunately, unless you have some way to establish a connection with the living world, I have no suggestions to offer other than to wait and hope for a light creature to come to your aid." He opened one hand helplessly. "My own magics have no way to assist you. If they did, I assure you, I would not be in this realm myself."

Intelligent? Oh, yes. This spirit was very intelligent. And there was only one thought running through its mind-
'How am I going to save them?'
The spirit caught sight of Xerk looking in its direction; frantically, it pressed a finger to its sealed lips, trying to signal that the child should remain silent about its presence. Gnawing absently at its bottom lip, it ducked behind the television, hoping to stay out of sight while it worked out some form of plan, how it might be able to communicate what it needed to this crowd without ensuring its own demise. Such a tricky task....

As much as she liked to believe she was stronger than most, it had only taken a little bit of earthquaking and a bump on the head to incapacitate Dixie. She awakened when the ground rumbled again, wincing at a strange uncomfortable prickly feeling on her cheek and wondering how she had ended up on the floor. This wasn't her house. Oh, right. Grayness. People getting out of hand over a little blackout. Wait. Where was Alek?
Dixie sat up quickly and almost blacked out again from the pain in her skull. "Where's my kid?" she asked nobody. She took her time getting up, not from lack of concern, but from a more general inability to move correctly, and eventually followed the voices over to the playpen. Alek was inside, his back to her. "What happened?" she said aloud, not expecting an answer. There were too many people here with their own problems to waste time explaining to her why Oak was fawning over another equally leafy kid or fox boys and tentacly ones were communing. It was time to get the hell out of here.

"Domo, kagoe no hito." Ari replied, bowing her head slightly, "Now to establish a connection with the living world... Kaychan, did your elder sister tell you anything about how to connect to the living realm from here? Does anyone present have any ability that can connect us to living world? or should we wait it out and see if a light spirit comes our way?" Already she seemed stronger than she had been.

Now that the entire fiasco of falling and the breaking and hubbub had died down, Coailiann calmed down herself and eyed Jorianth steadily. How on earth would light creatures help them if they couldn't even help themselves?
She said as much, "How are they going to help US if they can't help themselves, if what you say is true." She paused, playing his words over her mind. He had never once claimed to be a light creature.
Quietly, to herself,"...You're not a creature of the light. There's dark here, and there's light. If you're not of the light....Nic!"
This guy could NOT be trusted! The sidhe ran towards him, not giving a damn about the fact he had the scary baby in his arms, "Nic, he's one of them!" she whispered fiercely.
EDIT: Coailiann looked around, eyeing Neveah who was near Jorianth and looking dazed, and Zah, who was standing beside her father. And...everyone. She had to find some way to save them, somehow.

Wonderful. Final death... and this was Wiko's first day in the living. What a bum deal. More than a bum deal, this was downright stupid. And what were they going to do until then? Better yet, how could they call one of these light beings?
Wiko had given up howling, and at a glance he could see why. Wiko was tired, very tired. His yellow eyes were fluttering between open and closed and his whimpers continued, but he was just too tired to wail like he wanted to.
Hell no...God, not you.
At that, Kay was in his face, and speaking very bad news at him. He furrowed his brow, eyes locked on the pompous ******** he'd had the displeasure of speaking with. "I thought so," he whispered back, gnawing his lower lip. "Something you want me to do about it? I don't think provoking him is gonna do any good."
