Lights out. Outside, the sun has set, leaving the parking lot visible through some of the shutters in absolute darkness. No cars have their lights on, nothing moves. Inside the mall things are fine for a time, the grisly fountain tinkling away with its floating bits of human, and all around the shops remain lit and welcoming, some of them still playing their jaunty customer-enticing and employee tormenting tunes. Even empty the mall itself feels alive.
Until it doesn’t.
All across the mall, the lights one by one go off, the music stops, it leaves the entire place in pitch darkness.
There is a distant laughter in the dark, out beyond the camp and the things moving seem more active, more easily hidden. Suddenly every venture out is into areas lit with flickering shadows and ominous silhouettes of manikins and toys and there is a constant risk of ambush.
STATUS
---While the lights are out, all NEWLY spawned infected do x2 damage and have +10 health. (If you are already in combat your infected remains the same) ---There is also the chance of running into a LAUGHING type infected. These have been added to the front page. If you roll an infected you (or a group you have helped) have fought before, congratulations, you have found one of these lovely ladies. These are not affected by the x2 damage or the health bonus, you fight them exactly as they are. ---If you have a torch (find one, procure one, have one on you), your damage is unaffected, if you have no source of light, you do -3 damage on all attacks.
--- DONT FEAR THE REAPER. IF YOU FALL, COME BACK TO CAMP AND GET HEALED, IF ALL YOUR GROUP “DIES” ASSUME YOU RETURN TO CAMP FOR MENDING. ---
HEADS UP
This is not a phase change, simply some additional flavour/danger/suffering, the phase change is still Sunday night, there may be some sort of attack on the base camp during this time, the HP of the camp for this phase will be based on optional fortifications ICly applied to it.

Isaac was mid-grin when another hunter burst in and mutilated the infected that he and Nellie had been fighting. He was a welcome addition to their little party because it was quickly becoming obvious that they were not going to be able to hack at it forever - especially since it had been so lucky at damaging them. After staring at Leslie for a few long moments, Isaac leaned against his weapon and stared down at the little man. "Nellie and I are grateful," he thanked around a huge, genuine smile; he then proceeded to get Lark stuck in the wall again. The lights web out making everything that more difficult. Range relied in sight and by the dim, green glow of Saliva, he could barely sense movement. Stepping just a bit closer, he kept his weapon pointed exactly where he last shot and fired. A bright round flashed for a second before hitting the undead. At least the green eyes of the creature helped.

He watched Cami walk away, having thanked Mimsy for the heal and headed off to the camp. His hands were still holding bandages, and he could see from the way she was holding her side that he hadn't done a favorable job. He just stood there, immobile, and let that sink in. Rep's obnoxious voice gave him something else to worry about, and he made the angriest of faces up into the air, before he used the half-finished bandages on Mimsy's arm. "Don't listen to that ********." Robert grumped out, unafraid to express his discontent with Rep and his entire existence. "He's too busy making announcements on a god damn microphone to actually come out here and do any work. He ain't one to talk." The bandages applied their healing properties to Mimsy's arm as he placed them, until the lights went out and he couldn't see what he was doing anymore. His hands gripped around her waist tightly, and he summoned Jezebel for nothing more than the light of her runes. "Man, when we got here, I was so ******** excited to get out and do something exciting." He complained. "But so far all it's been is a bunch of frustration. I am so done with this s**t." At America's recommendation for the care of any wayward civilians Taym had never quite looked closer to just kissing her in public, but his relief at their lockstep was short-lived. It was for the best that Taym was flanked by Cami's wall of death and America's grim pragmatism, because no sooner had he shifted the knife in his grip than he faltered in the face of what it was that they were fighting, exactly. Compartmentalize. Later, and now move in, Fionnghal a swift flicker as darkness fell. There was this to be said: at least this one hurt less. HP: 48 DMG: 7 CHG: 3/3 MOB HP: 27

There was a flash of red behind Mimsy's eyes, and all of her tensed as she tried to process what she was hearing. Robert told her not to listen to Rep, but not that he was wrong, so the possibility Kostya contributed to her failure continued to exist. Her fingertips curled around an itch to finally solve this problem, and she drew in a shuddering breath as she grappled with the solution that came so reflexively, slowly exhaling when Robert began to apply the remnant of the bandage to her arm. What kind of solution would such a violent solution be? Not permanent, certainly. Then rose the question of why this had so compulsively emerged as a primary solution in the first place - even if it were not entirely rooted within her past, some part of it was, still tangled up in a history she wanted to escape. One that didn't even matter. There was new progress to be made and old progress to improve upon. She could be something better. She still had her husband, and the threat of losing him had been the only cause of conflict with the tentacle. Despite not landing the killing blow, despite how certain she'd been of her failure, he was still here. He didn't think the technicalities were important. Because he was here. And he loved her. Which logically meant that he couldn't care about one minor detail. So if Robert and ALICE believed she was more than destruction, she could too. She insisted this over and over to herself as her trembling hands reached for another bandage, swallowing one last wave of nausea before her timidly determined eyes flickered over to look at her husband--who was instantly shrouded by darkness. Of course. With a scoff and a juvenile eyeroll, she extended her hands to find him right away. There was no darkness that was capable of deterring her. Nor him, it seemed. The tight grip of his hands around her waist startled a gasp out of her - not from the action itself, but the pressure was much more than what she was used to. Not unpleasant in the slightest, but different. Svensyl seemed so far away. "I--um," she quietly stammered, clumsily applying the bandage to him as her eyelids fluttered and failed to stay open. As she leaned into him, the tone of his voice made her force her eyes open again, catching his frustration within the glow of the runes. She had clearly misread this situation by going on touch alone. This required some composure, which she tried her very best to maintain as her fingers brushed against his cheek, palm coming to rest affectionately against it. "So what would help to allow you to feel excited again?" There was a glimmer in her eyes belonging to more than just the runes as she thoughtfully looked at him, her thumb passing gently back and forth across his skin. "When you felt an urgency to attend this mission, what did you hope to have? If that is no longer encouraging, what do you wish you had?" Fortifications
--- For every infected killed from this point, 5HP will be added to the camp for attacks. 10HP will be added for a spitter or a laughing type.
Also people in and around the camp can help to build up the HP of the camp itself with some building tasks!
Barricades
This involves retrieving materials from around the area to fortify the camp and the portal area to defend from attacks, the strongest fortification should be around the portal to provide an escape with other areas more strategically optimised.
If you get a total of more than 9 you get some good quality materials, plywood and such. If you get a total of more than 11 you find some exemplary materials, steel fencing, a good sturdy door, use your imagination for this one!
Moon/Moon specialised mists - roll 5d4 Everyone else - roll 4d4
For good quality materials, add +2 HP to the camp For exemplary materials, add +5 HP to the camp
Uruz rune carving
By carving the Uruz rune into the existing barriers around the court itself, you can add further strength to the fortifications!
This counts for a diving point!
Life/Life specialised mists - Add two to anything you roll here! Runic Journeymen - Add 1 to anything you roll here (in addition to the Life bonus if applicable) Runic Adept - Add 2 to anything you roll here (in addition to the Life bonus if applicable) Runic Master - Add 3 to anything you roll here (in addition to the Life bonus if applicable)
Roll 1d10 for each rune you try to apply 1-4: failure! The rune never glows and eventually breaks. 5-8: Regular Rune! The rune is weak +2 HP 9-10: Superior Rune! The rune is of superior quality +5 HP

Taking aim once more Cami's whole body froze as the lights went dim. "No. No no no no NO!" Later she'd hate herself, and both Taym and America a little bit, for the way she whimpered when the lights went out. The sound was a bit like a cornered animal; it was only when America's phone flashed to light that anything remotely resembling sanity returned to the young Sun. Without thought she put her trust in her weapon and let an arrow fly. "Can I go home now?" When the lights went out the call went out: fortify. Moving not far from the tents, where there was a little bit of emergency light for the healers and leaders to work by Emelina began to look for something that would make a good base. What she found was a bench, bolted to the ground. "What do you think, sharkbait? Think you can slice through some of this wood?" She couldn't cut the legs of the bench but she could cut the wood away from it.
Dhakir's indignant voice was the gnashing, grinding sound of shark's teeth. The dual blades materialized in her hands without her even having to think about it. Bearing all her weight behind them Lina cut up two benches before dragging what she'd found back towards the base.

Leslie glared daggers at the intercom, pausing his brutality to flip it the bird. "******** you," he bitched, bristled just as much as before. The idea that someone could be watching him was unappealing in ten different ways, and it only got worse once he realized that was now his reality. He looked at the new kids, lip curling but keeping his harsh words for them to himself. Now wasn't the time; not when there was work to do. So, instead, Leslie bit out a quiet "No problem," and launched himself at the creature again, club clattering against their armor. leslie hp 42 dmg 5*2=10 charge 2/3 fear chl1, ey2 remain target armored HP: 60 Autodamage: 4 buffs: x2 dmg to armored

All things considered Cami rather wished Taym and America would keep their adoption shenanigans to a minimum before the shambler was dead. It should only take two or three days to whittle him down.
