"Seriously?" Alexis mocked. She had watched the whole pathetic display. A boy cowering in fear over a Caterpie while his pokemon "saved the day."
"I've been in this forest for days now. There are things a lot worse than that here." She smiled, slipping her glasses off her face, letting them dangle by their chain.
Lafayette didn’t like forests. Despite the numerous differences in each of the trees, the fact that they clustered together made it difficult to remember one for another which made it all but futile to even try to remember little signs to tell him where he was going. Fortunately enough, there was a worn path weaving its way through the forest that he could simply stay on. Which was nice.
As his trainer hummed a song to himself, Noah remained on red alert. Forests were ripe with critters and bugs that were willing to sneak out and stab a fool for wandering through their territory. Not that he thought they were in any real danger; Lafayette was a tough one and so was he! If he couldn’t smash the bugs then his trainer probably could. It would’ve been a scary thought for anyone else but Noah just took pride in it.

It didn’t even occur to Noah that his trainer had come to a complete stop until the man’s head had shifted in his general direction. For a moment the otter thought he was being looked at, but a closer look noted that the mix-matched eyes of his trainer were lookig slightly off from where he was sitting.
"Osha?" Noah frowned, his own head turning in the same direction. What was wrong? Was there something there? Immediately, one little paw clutched at his shell, ready to pull it in preparation for battle. A few seconds of skimming though and he saw nothing. There was a rustle of leaves, but there was a light wind blowing which made it harder to identify if something was there.
The otter looked back to his trainer, a confused frown creeping across his face. Lafayette’s expression was concentrated and stern. Whatever it was, he’d seen it and knew it was lurking nearby. With a fluid motion, he raised one hand and held Noah in place as he knelt down and retrieved a decent sized stone with the other. He rolled the rock in the palm of his hand a moment, still staring into the nearby bushes. One second. Two seconds. Three seconds passed and then with a snap back of his wrist, he hurled the stone into the bush. It made contact, visibly bouncing up and into the air as a little pink fluff squeaked and fell through the brush, face flat down into the ground. Noah let out a startle little ‘Wott’ at the sight, grip clutching tighter to his shell. What in the world was that thing?

It’d been a good solid minute since Lafayette had chucked the rock at the strange creature and so far, it hadn’t moved. Which meant either it was unconscious or… potentially dead. The blonde was fairly certain he hadn’t tossed it that hard, though he did have a tendency to underestimate his own strength. Noah just stared as well, shifting uncomfortably from his perch on his trainer’s shoulder. This was a bit awkward.
Then, it twitched. Which was a good sign against the whole ‘being dead’ thing. The little pink think gave a soft ‘Purr’ noise, little arms pressing to the ground and shoving the creature in a single go back to its feet. The spectacles on its face fell off as it put itself back, causing both Lafayette and Noah to wince a bit in surprise. The pokemon’s eyes were a rather piercing shade of pink. It was a bit unnerving.
"Esp…" The pokemon cooed softly, rubbing at its head where the rock had beamed it, a small bump forming in the area. Its expression was blank though as it addressed the situation, pink eyed stare shifting down as it retrieved the glasses from the ground. They were a little scuffed but not broken which was probably good. Once it was certain they were fine, it looked up at the trainer and his pokemon.
"Espurr." Lafayette and Noah just stared at the strange creature a moment. And it did the same. Yet another minute passed of this before the creature toddled over and stood in front of the pair. Lafayette had never seen a pokemon like this before. This was probably a good time to make use of the pokedex, which is exactly what he attempted to do. The thing bloomed to life, revealing the little pink thing as an Espurr which was… odd. It didn’t look at all like the one in the pokedex image. That one was grey with… well with still the most damning of stares but with less pink intensity.
"A’igh’ then…" Lafayette murmured, putting the ‘dex away. Whatever then. As he resumed his height, the pokemon toddled over, staring up at him. It was a bit of a tense moment before it finally offered up the glasses and a pokeball. Lafayette stared a moment. What in the world? Did it belong to someone? Or had it belonged to someone? The fact that it was in possession of a pokeball and offering it to him indicated as such.
"So… yeh wan’ah come with meh?" He inquired. The Espurr just kept staring back blankly. Lafayette just frowned, attaching the pokeball to his belt. He snagged up the glasses to, looking them over and shrugging as he shoved them in his bag as well. "Wha’evah mate." Lafayette wasn’t really all that concerned with the idea of a new pokemon following him. He was relatively use to it. But he did need to keep moving and so, with the Espurr toddling in tow he continued along the path and out of the forest. He had more important things on his mind after all…

"Here." Alexis sighed. She set down her backpack on the damp grass and opened it up. After a bit of digging she eventually pulled out a small, silver container. "Did you know that certain types of pokemon react to different pheromones in the air?"
She lit a match and dropped it into the container. Seconds later, a cloud of black smoke began to billow from inside. Alexis coughed a few times - it was not a pleasant smell. For a human anyway.

Noah squealed as the dashed past the trees and back into the forest. He was clinging tightly to the Micah’s mane as they ran through. For the most part they stuck to the path, though there were places where walls could be jumped to quicken the journey and Micah did just that. Lafayette was holding tightly as well as they moved. Things were already running through his mind and the moved.

Lafayette glanced down to his watch, thoughts still racing. He needed to call his parents really to let them know he'd be back. It'd been a little while -what, about a month or so?- since he'd last seen them. He was sure his mother would probably want to feed him and his father ... well. It was probably better that he didn’t get caught up in his thoughts as the tree branches were threatening to hit him in the face. Micah was moving a little faster than he’d expected, though all the shortcuts were probably helping. Soon the route gate out of the forest was in sight and the way back to Viridian City was clearly in sight. They’d made good time; with any luck they’d hit the train station before the next one showed up. It’d be great.

There was a shout as Cyrus was finally dropped by the fearow, falling though branches of the trees of Viridian forest. The landing hurt, but the first thing the dark skinned male did was swear, then checked on his clothes. Miraculously, there were no holes or rips. Thank god for that at least. He brushed some leaves from his hair and got to his feet. Now, where the hell did Argo go? He could hear the Fearow squawking above the trees, and he knew the wingull was no fighter.
Unfortunately, before he could find out about Argo, some of the wild pokemon didn't take very kindly to his abrupt arrival into their home, attacking. Cyrus sent out Stow, ordering him to use Blizzard, which easily took care of all five of the attacking pokemon. The dark skinned male decided on a whim to capture the weakened pikachu before it could get away, seeing as they could be pretty valuable if you found the right trainer.

Argo swooped back down to rejoin Cy, feathers ruffled. That seemed to be the end of that. Until a pidgeotto chased a caterpie into the clearing. The wingull eyed the worm pokemon intently, and the other bird screeched in challenge over the food. Argo spat a stream of water at the caterpie after Stow gave the bird a shock. The worm squirmed around weakly, and the Pidgeotto tried to get back up. Cyrus figured he might as well try to catch the pidgeotto, but when he threw the ball, it managed to knock it away with it's wing before escaping. The ball caught something else, though. The caterpie. Cyrus scowled, but took the ball anyways. The caterpie might make a good decoy sometime, anyways.

Cyrus was about ready to leave the forest to get back to some town, when Perse suddenly popped out of her ball. The Egyptian braced himself for a chiding, but was surprised when it actually didn't come. "Incoming. You aren't going to like it..." the meowstic stated, eyes staring at the sky. "What the hell do you mean, 'incoming'?" Cyrus snarled, looking around. A shadow passed over the clearing, then doubled back with a horrible, familiar honk. <********. How does she keep finding me?!?" Cyrus swore as a Swanna landed before him. Not just any Swanna. He recognized it as his sister's stupid Swanna. Luckily for him, Leila was not with the damn bird. "What the ******** does she want now?" Cyrus cursed, and the swanna promptly chucked a pokeball at his head that she was holding in her beak, following up with a peck. "OW WHAT THE ******** YOU STUPID PIECE OF s**t!" the Egyptian raged, swinging his fist at the swanna. He managed to kick the damn bird before it flew off. Since no one seemed to be alerted to his presence yet, the creamy haired male shouted in frustration, throwing a rock after the bird, but it was long gone.
It took a few fuming minutes for Cyrus to check out the pokeball that was chucked at him. Something seemed a bit familiar about the ball. Yet, he was suspicious. Nothing good ever came from anything his sister sent him. Especially since she never sent him anything worth anything. All the other times, it has either been a gag or rubbing his face in how well off she is doing than him. Cyrus released whatever was in the ball, prepared to deal with some angry gyarados or something. Instead, he was met with a sight he hadn't seen since he was a young boy. "... Judal...?" Cyrus muttered, looking at the large, brown and white Braviary before him. But that was... This was mother's Braviary. Cyrus was suddenly relieved that he now had him, and furious that Leila had kept him for so long. Judal squawked, pulling a note off of his foot and dropping it at Cyrus' feet before deciding he was more interested in raiding a nearby bush of it's berries. The dark skinned male picked up the note and read it. Here, take this stupid bird brain. He's not worth anything to me, just like you! I figured you two deserved each other. -Leila
The note was immediately crumpled up and tossed aside. Typical of his sister to be like that. Normally, Cyrus would have the first thought to sell this pokemon, but... well, some part of him didn't want to lose a pokemon that had been so close to his mother. Even if the eagle wasn't exactly ... friendly towards him. He was going to find a way to fix that, though.

First thing first. Cyrus returned Perse to her ball and shoved her ball back into his bag before she could make any comments on the situation. She had already gotten that snide look on her face. He also returned Stow to his ball, which left just Argo and Judal out. "Judal. Come here." Cyrus told the eagle, approaching him. However, he jumped back as the large bird whipped his head around and tried to bite him. Luckily, Cyrus had moved back in time not to get hurt. The Braviary's feathers were ruffled and he was puffed up. He seemed pretty agitated. And even didn't seem to notice that the trainer was the kid that belonged to his original owner. "Ugh. I don't have time for this attitude..." Cyrus grumbled, going through his bag and pulling out a friend ball. It wasn't the kind of ball he used often, but it seemed like it would likely calm the bird down. Without warning the bird, he re-caught it in the friend ball, the old ball breaking and getting tossed aside. Judal was released back from his ball once more, and ... well, maybe it worked? The large bird stood before Cyrus, tilting his head and eyeing him. His feathers puffed up, but he didn't seem about to attack. The dark skinned male reached out to place his hand on Judal's head, not getting a violent response. Good. Then Judal was a more viable flying pokemon for him to get out of here. Not that... Cyrus really looked forward to actually flying.
Now that things had calmed down, he checked his holocaster to find he missed a text back from Apollo. It was really brief, and wasn't really much to respond to, but he felt a bit obligated to do so anyways. He typed it out and sent it rather quickly.
