  Yasashii gave a slight nod to Kye's glance. He too had caught the slip, but without further information he didn't know what to think about it. There were a good number of militia groups in Rice, both then and now, and each fought for a different cause. Without knowing which the man had associated himself with it was impossible to tell if he could be trusted with their own involvement, and even then the fact he was here now and not still with the militia could mean anything from him having differing views and leaving, to being kicked out, or even being a spy in a foreign land, though the last was unlikely. The man concealed a slight chuckle as he noticed the skittish genin trying to slip away from the group, passing by himself in the process due to his positioning. The boy was probably rather intimidated by the people around him. Kye, unless she expressly sought to conceal it, constantly exuded an aura of power and command that few could match. This militia genin seemed to have an aura of intimidation as well, though it was more from his appearance, being so large and scarred. And Yasashii himself, though he didn't feel he was intimidating unless he tried to be, took such a casual stance against it all, that it would have appeared the the boy that by his lack of fear, he was among the intimidating simply by association. No, he couldn't really blame the boy, though he did hope, for the boy's sake and for Sunagakure's, that he grew out of it with experience. It was never good to show your fear, and if he'd been on an actual village mission, that would have been a severe strike against him. Before he could think more on that matter, the boy he'd met earlier, Raphael, walked up and added himself to the group. There was an odd look about him as he spoke, that Yasashii wasn't sure he liked. In Otogakure he'd have looked into it further and crushed it if need be, but here, that wasn't his duty, and so he simply paid attention as Kye began to explain the mission further, and his part became more clear. His post became even more clear as Raphael quickly spoke up again, digging for more information. Information that could vary by the second in the situation Kye had described. It would be Yasashii's job then, to explain how an operation of this sort should proceed, since the boy was given the same position as he himself had held when he and Kye had both been active in the field, in the early days of Otogakure. She was the distraction, while he disposed of the bomb, or other traps keeping the hostages in place. It was always a tricky operation, since one wrong move could end the lives of the hostages. Hopefully Raphael would understand that despite it being his first rescue. Laying his hand lightly on the boy's shoulder before he could bother Kye further, the master sealer gently guided him a short distance away, before settling down on a lump of rubble and settling in for the task of imparting how serious what he had to say was. "Before I say anything, I want you to understand one thing." Yasashii began, his eyes piercing directly into Raphael's own, searching for a glint of understanding. One that he would need before he could tell Kye that he was ready for his part. "One wrong move, the tiniest slip, or the slightest mistake, and these people are all going to die. She wasn't worried about whether you would give your life when she gave you that warning. The moment you accept this mission, the hostage's lives are your responsibility. If they die from your mistake, it is on your hands. Do you understand?" He needed to know, before he could impart to Raphael the methods needed for completing the task, that the boy understood that the lives of innocents were in his hands the second he stepped into that field. Not simply because he wanted to scare the boy out of going, but to prevent him from making any mistakes. Too often a shinobi went out on their first mission of this sort, and thinking they could handle whatever came their way stepped outside the lines of their duty, putting their own lives and the lives they were responsible for at risk. And too often it ended in the death of all involved. It didn't matter if the shinobi feared death or not. What mattered was that the hostages were to survive.

Raphael stiffened when Yasashii placed his hand on his shoulder, but only for an instant. His face grew slightly more red. Here he was, standing with a behemoth, a woman who was missing an arm, and was oddly regal and level headed despite the village basically blowing up around her, and Yasashii, who didn't seemed phased by much, more nonchalant. Rapahel had only noticed a bit of emotion other than Yasashii's normal demeanor in the hospital. He had slipped up, let a tiny bit of fear out in the form of a skittish jump. He'd have to strengthen his resolve if he wanted to function as a shinobi.
Raphael walked with Yasashii and listened to him speak. His back perked slightly, making him sit to his full height at the mention of the other people's lives being in his hands, rather than his own. He looked up at Yasashii and showed that he understood what Yasashii was getting at. Raphael was inconsequential now. He was hired ninja fodder if he slipped up, tht was his reality. It wouldn't hurt Yasashii, Kye, or the man over there still with Kye if Rapahel died in the crossfire. It was the villagers, the innocents who were important. They had family who cared, friends who loved them, things that a normal human would have. Raphael didn't have that anymore, or he wouldn't in the near future. He'd have to sever ties to his family, which wasn't that bad, and he didn't really have many friends of substance, since he was only allowed with the snobby elite of the merchant children. " I understand that my mistakes will harm those other than me, possibly making the hole in the hearts of my villagers larger under these circumstances. " Raphael said, turning his head to look out over the rubble of the village. " I won't make any mistakes. The villagers have been through enough, I'll commit the necessary motions to muscle memory if I need to. I'll make them second nature to myself. " He said, looking back to Yasashii. Raphael could say only that. He would try with every ounce of his soul, body, and mind to keep those hostages, those human lives, safe. " Now, time is short, could you possibly teach me how to disarm those tags? I'd like to spend the time committing it to absolute memory. " He said, looking at Yasashii. ∱Information∱

Yasashii nodded his satisfaction with Raphael's answer. The boy had apparently overly romanticized the issue for some reason, but that was fine if it helped him get through the job with everyone alive. Everyone had their own way of coping with the difficulties of ninja life, and if that was his, well, Yasashii wasn't going to bother trying to dissuade him. "Good. now, lesson two. Don't rush. All that matters is the hostage's lives. The shops, the goods, those can all be replaced, so don't even worry about that. Step one is to locate all of the seals. If you think you may have missed even one, do not move in. Kyoko said that the thieves are moving from shop to shop. Us the time they are moving to identify the seal locations. If the seals are just on the ground, they'll have to gather them, and that will be obvious. But it's more likely that the seals are on the hostages themselves, so you need to keep a close eye on them."Yasashii paused at this point, both to take a breath and let Raphael assimilate the information. He was going to give as much tactical knowledge of the mission type as he could without giving himself away before he would explain how to deal with the seals themselves, because really, the tactics were more important. "Keep an eye on the thieves as well. The one with the trigger will be obvious, but he might not hold the only trigger. If whoever planned this was halfway competent, they probably all have a way to set off the seals. For that reason, do not attempt to take out the trigger. If you're caught, even if you do manage to destroy it, one of the others could, and probably would, set off the tags."
"Now," Yasashii began again after another short breath to let that sink in for the boy. "Assuming none of these men are a sealing specialist, we're probably dealing with a simple linked trigger to a basic explosive tag. Those take hardly any effort to make, and anyone with experience with both can easily make them. Hopefully it's not something more complicated, because I won't be able to explain sufficiently to deal with better. If you see anything but a basic link or trigger attached to the explosive seal, do not go in. Come find me. Bring a drawing of the seal if you can."Pausing in his speech, Yasashii bent down and scratched a few sets of lines into the ground. Pointing at each in succession, he continued. "This is a trigger seal. Most likely the guard has one of these either drawn on his hand, or on something he's holding. The next is a link. Chakra flows through this from the trigger to activate the last seal, as you've probably read from basic books. And the last is an explosive seal, just like on your basic tag, but for one difference." he then pointed out a small symbol in the seal, and then a matching symbol in each of the others. "This symbol is part of the linking seal, and attaches them all together. Your best bet in defusing the bomb is to remove all of these symbols. Failing that, simply destroy the explosive seal entirely. Hopefully the seals will be on tags, in which case you should be able to simply cut the link out of the seal. If one of the thieves is a sealing specialist though, he might have put the seal directly on the hostage's skin. If that is the case, unfortunately, you're still going to need to cut it off. Hopefully that isn't the case."Pausing to let that all sink in, Yasashii drew one more seal on the ground, recognizable as another explosive, but lacking the link symbol. "Before you go, commit this seal to memory. A link seal won't always look like the one I showed you. Each link is different, to prevent interference between seals. The linking symbol can be identified by matching it to the center of the main linking seal, but you might not be able to see that, since it's probably on the trigger. So, what you need to do is memorize the base explosive seal, so that you can spot the extra symbol." As he spoke, Yasashii once more pointed out each seal as needed, before wiping the first three away with his hand. None of them would actually do anything, since lines drawn in sand weren't exactly strong enough to channel chakra, but it was best not to let any possible passersby potentially try copying the seals and hurt themselves. Besides that, wiping out the linked explosive seal would force Raphael to memorize the base one, and not allow him to subconsciously look for the link where Yasashii had placed it, or in that form, since it could really be placed at many points in a seal. As Yasashii finished his explanation, he found himself once again approached by an ANBU member, who pulled him aside and spoke quietly for a few moments, before vanishing as ANBU do. "I'm needed elsewhere." the man quickly said, coming back to Raphael. "Make sure you remember everything I said, and be cautious above all else." he said once again, insistent on driving that point home for the boy. "Please tell Kyoko to find me again before she leaves town, if she wasn't planning to already." He requested, waving towards the woman to be sure the boy knew who he meant. And with that, he quickly turned and left, moving at a rapid pace rivaling most genin. The fastest he dared go while under watch. Apparently the ANBU needed a sealing master at the site of the main battle, and word of his earlier efforts had spread quickly among the masked ninja. [Exit] (So much speech! XD I'm not used to being so talkative in a post. Also, making s**t up as you go about how sealing works is FUN! (In reference mainly to the linking symbols. It seems logical, so I'm going to keep saying it works that way, but it's never been officially stated.))

Raphael waited for Yasashii to leave before looking at the seal that was left. His mind had been distracted since the ANBU came to him. That didn't quite sit right. ' I know that Yasashii is a skilled seal expert, but to be hand selected by an ANBU? Is he more skilled than I can perceive? ' He thought, shaking his head as he stared at the seal. He reached out and copied the seal several times in the sand, each time erasing the previous seal and getting closer to creating it.
Raphael sat there for a couple of seconds, each time creating the sealover and over again, erasing, then drawing it again. As Raphael began to get closer and closer to the seal, committing several pieces to memory. He took out his marker and drew a sketch on his own palm. It would hurt, and probably maim him, if not kill him, but once he broke the other seals, he'd be able to protect them by using himself as a bomb. It would be a last ditch effort, but it was the best he had, unless he could get a hold of a blade somehow. He didn't think his Kunai would be enough to work against thugs who were probably twice his own strength. It would also allow him to have a reference guide, should he panic and forget a piece of the seal. Rapahel would try his best to keep cool, but he was going into a life or death situation, who knew if he would be calm, or if he would panic. He shook his head, looking at the latest seal he had drawn in the sand without looking at his hand, or the one Yasashii had drawn. It was perfect, looking exactly like the one in the sand, and the one on his hand. Raphael stood, sweeping his foot through the sand, making the seals disappear for good, aside from the one on his hand. " Well, I hope this marker is washable... " He sid laughing. Worst case scenario, he had to cut the flesh off, or maybe just have Yasashii mess with it, maybe he knew of a better way to remove the ink.
Rapahel turned and wandered over to the other two, looking at his palm, making sure that the image was burned into memory, along with what it was. " Okay, I'm ready. " Raphael said looking at the other two. " Ma'am, Yasashii said that he wanted you to find him before leaving the village. I think it was something important. " Raphael said, looking at the woman. Kyoko was a woman's name, so unless the man had a severely misleading name, the woman was Kyoko. ∱Information∱

I thought that Linking seals were used in an array, and you'd have to make long distance linking seals to create the link. Kinda like a linking seal that shifts into the partial space of a storage seal, but is shared, and allows for the fast rapid transit of chakra. That's how I thought these seals would work. xD Kinda glad to know that the standard link seal would allow for simple use like that though. ^>^ ۞

The white-haired boy would feel the weight of Enro's gaze on him as Kyoko's companion explained the process of defusing the explosives. In his lifetime Enro had only experienced very basic level of sealing, most limited to explosives and storage. Advanced sealing simply wasn't necessary in his line of work although while working as a bounty hunter in the Land of Snow he'd heard tales of hunters who could quickly turn the frozen tundra into a literal mine field of traps. Unfortunately he never witnessed first hand any accounts of these exploits as he hunted bandits more often than ninja and he usually hunted on his own.
Enro allowed his hands to fall to his side and move leisurely over to the white-haired boy as he crafted seals into the sand. His movements were very smooth and surprisingly light considering his impressive size. He stopped just outside of arms reach from the boy and his shadow managed to completely eclipse the younger shinobi despite the distance.
"I am not familiar with the mechanics behind Fuinjutsu so I would like some of them to be answered before the mission begins. Can a - I believe the man called it a 'trigger seal' - be activated remotely via handseals or would simply separating the seal from the guard be enough?" he asked, his tone monotonous but his eyes bearing a slightly malevolent yet curious gleam.

Rapahel felt the gaze of the man who was standing with Kyoko, and felt odd as the man shuffled over to him. No, it wasn't shuffling, and the steps weren't as hard as they should have been for a man of that size. He was obviously well trained, and DEFINITELY not from this village. This guy had to have been trained on the battlefield. He'd said he was a genin, and obviously by his age, and the marks on his skin he had seen battle. Was he on the level of the ANBU, but not ranked? Gah! There were too many uncertainties about this guy. First thing would be to get to know him, then make judgements as he went along. Ah, longitudinal studies, how Raphael loved them.
" Seals are things that you channel chakra into, hand seals are only needed if you have problems doing that. " Rapahel said, looking to Enro. " Here, let's say that this is the seal, " Rapahel said drawing a circle in the sand, " , so when you pulse chakra into it, it'll active. If you have trouble moving chakra into your hand, or the area where the seal is, then you can use a hand seal to focus. Any focusing agent would work, Hand seals are just functional for everyone. There are monks who use stances to unlock greater focus than hand seals, but that requires years of training. " Raphael said looking back up to Enro. " It wouldn't be wise to attempt to disarm the person wielding the trigger though. If you do that, then if another one has the trigger, the hostages will go up in smoke. " Raphael said looking back to Enro. If Enro looked at Raphael's drawing now he'd notice several other circles all pointing to other human shapes, and a little explosion with bits and pieces of people flying away from it. Or at least that was the point Rapahel was trying to get across. " I would just do as that lady said, and intimidate, but not aggravate the targets. It'll be more safe that way. " He said standing and dusting himself off. " If you want, when this is all over, and if we're both still in one piece, I'll show you some basic seals and explain the functionality of them. " Raphael said holding out his left hand. Raphael had been told that some other cultures saw that hand as a handshake as a sign of peace, since it was closer to the person's heart. " I'm Raphael by the way. " He said giving Enro a smile. Well, what he could muster of a smile. Truthfully, Enro was slightly intimidating up close, and Raphael seemed to need to look up to even look at his face. He would do amazingly well at what Kyoko had asked of him, Rapahel was sure of it. ∱Information∱

"Hmm, I see," was his response to the boy's explanation. Although he knew seals could be linked together he had very little knowledge as to how this happened. What the brief explanation did reveal was that the hands were a key component to a shinobi's success. Remove or otherwise render them unresponsive and most ninja would be effectively useless including sealers.
"Well as you are really the only one of us who will be put in any real danger, I will look forward to that lesson assuming you survive, Raphael"
There was nothing openly threatening in his tone but it was clear that the man was unfazed by the threat of death. His expression was no less threatening when he firmly shook Raphael's hand, his own large hand wrapping around the pale boy's in a grip so firm it was almost painful. Fortunately for him it was brief and Enro returned his hand to his side.
"A word of advice. These men do not sound like trained ninja so they are likely just opportunistic civilians. I doubt they will have multiple triggers and I doubt they will have inscribed the seals onto the bodies of the hostages. If you find the seals and you are quick enough you may be able to just attach the seals to one key locations of the structure. Point this out to the bandits and they will be loathe to bring the entire structure onto their own head,"
In Enro's experience men typically clung to life, especially those not accustomed to the military life. The bandits would certainly not choose death over punishment especially considering the state of the village. At that point surrender would be the smart choice. But if he was wrong and the bandits would rather choose death than punishment, Raphael, the bandits, and the hostages would likely be killed in the explosion or the collapse of the building.

Raphael had a puzzled look on his face when Enro merely seemed to shrug off the information Rapahel had given him. Maybe Enro was just a wall of emotionless flesh. He was certainly a wall of flesh, a thick one that would have no problem intimidating people in the future, but there had to be more to him. What was his purpose, what did he strive to do?
" Don't worry, I plan on preserving my life if possible, but then again, I don't think that anyone would allow me to preform this any other way. " Raphael said. Again, no point to any emotion from Enro, even though he was talking about death. Maybe a severe trauma in his past? Raphael had heard tale of people rendered without emotion from a severe trauma. This train of thought was jarred when Enro took Raphael's hand. Raphael didn't show any pain, but it had hurt. He wasn't sure if Enro had meant it, actually he was pretty sure he hadn't, but Raphael would be wary to shake his hand in the future. He flexed it slightly, mostly just moving his fingers slightly, stretching them if you would.
" Thank you, I haven't had any form of formal training in the field, so I thank you for this advice. " Raphael said smiling at Enro. The man did have a point, if they were on tags, then it would make sense to slip it onto the building. " The only thing would be that it would endanger the hostages as well. I'm unsure if I'll be able to get them out without detection, stealth isn't my forte. I only pray that the seals aren't on the villagers... " Raphael said shaking his head. ∱Information∱

Enro's didn't seem to notice Raphael's puzzled expression although he registered it. It was a long day and he was never especially talkative at any time. He normally sharpened his weapons and restocked his equipment before going out on a hunting mission. The absence of his tools was somewhat debilitating on his behavior but once he gathered enough money he would able to replace most if not all of his equipment.
"Formal training isn't often enough. I know ninja often train to hone their skills but if you really want to imporove you need experience on the field where you have no control over the variables and all you can do is react to survive. The stakes are only a little higher,"
Enro almost sort of smiled at his last words, the corner of his lips curling fractionally. He turned his attention away from Raphael as he did sweeping his eyes over to the subsiding sandstorm of the great battle waged outside of the village.
"Another token of advice Raphael," he said, the volume of his words dropping to a sort of whisper. "Your life will usually be more important than a mission the village sends you on. You only have one life so I advise you take good care of it,"

She wished that others would see that this was not something they could take their time and would hurry up, but she was sure that what Yasashi was teaching the boy would be important. Just as he was nearing the end of his lesson, Kye suddenly turned away from the group, her instinct kicking in as she could feel the quick approach of an ANBU. Spotting the normally invisible shinobi on the move, Kye turned away from the group for a few moments and blended into the crowd, removing herself from the scene to keep her presence a secret.
Seeing the ANBU speak to Yasashi, then the two of them travel off together, Kye wondered what perhaps they might need with him, but she figured that he would tell her later. With the danger of her exposure gone, Kye came back to the scene to find Enro and Raphael exchanging tactics and words. Most of the exchange was innocent enough, but some of the advice being given was poor... inexperience perhaps with this type of mission being the culprit and many assumptions about the situation were being made. Before the Genin could get any further however, Kye interjected harshly.
"You're both already operating outside the conditions I set forth. Your tasks are your own to handle and yours alone. Raphael has his mission to disarm the tags and that is what he will do. Mind you I said to disarm the tags, making them useless. Anyone with half a mind would understand that this means first breaking the links, then removing the tags to be dismantled when time allows. Attempting to use the tags to bring a building down is a task far beyond the skills of Genin in such a short period of time. You would likely kill yourself in the process."
Enro's last words to Raphael were a whisper, so Kye did not register them and thus could not comment and seeing as Raphael's training was complete it looked like the time had finally come. "Come, we have delayed long enough. Remember your tasks and stick to the plan. Assume nothing. The presence of a link and tags at all suggests that there will be at least one shinobi in the grouping, or behind the scenes. How or if they will present themselves is unknown, yet irrelevant. All decisions in the field are required to be made in the moment as that is the only context in which they are relevant. the situation will present itself and shift multiple times. Uncertainty is all you can count on, so you must be ready to adapt. Once we arrive on the scene we will operate autonomously, so there will be no signals for when or where to move, so you must be alert to fulfill your task at the proper times. Let's move."
With those words, Kye began walking towards the marketplace at a quick pace and expected the Genin to accompany her in as inauspicious a way as possible.

" I'll be sure to take that into consideration. " Raphael said to Enro, turning as he did so at Kye's approach. In a hushed tone to match Enro's lowered voice, " Ah, but this isn't a mission the village is sending me on This is me giving myself to the protection of my village without any thoughts of payment. But I'll be sure to weigh the mission at hand with the amount I value my life at. " He simply stated. While it was true that Raphael could become an asset to the village in the future, it most likely wouldn't happen for quite some time, definitely not over night, or over the course of this mission.
Raphael shook his head at Kye's outburst, or what he only assumed was an outburst. She got the first part right, removing the link was the first, and probably the most crucial part. However, the second half was something she got completely wrong. It would be much easier to destroy the seal as soon as it was removed, as soon as each link had been removed. Taking the time to set them aside would be reckless, and would merely make it harder for the thugs to function the seals. Not impossible, and the fact that a shinobi was behind the seals,as Kye herself suggested, meant that it would be increasingly easy for him to just waltz in, and trigger them himself. It wouldn't be hard, some of them were built with delays. Heck, if timed right, he could remove the evidence that he was ever involved. This of course would be the point he could place tags on the thugs and kill them that way. Raphael shook his head, sighing. There was still too much information without an end in this mission. But, he did learn one thing. Kye was some sort of a leader, possibly a resistance leader of some sort. She gave orders, and didn't like any conjecture on them, something akin to a general's orders in a war. This also explained her fascination with Yasashii. Raphael had been toying around with the thought he was something more. If Kye and him were old acquaintances, then maybe further thought into this could give something more. He shifted that out of his mind as he turned back to Enro.
" She's right, We've got to hurry. " Raphael said. He didn't like that she stated that uncertainty was the only thing to go on. That was completely untrue! Sure people had secrets, and skills that you might not know, but they were shinobi! THE information gatherers, transporters, and assassins of the world. This slip up made Raphael think that if Kye was a leader, that she wasn't a very good one. She would send people into battle not knowing what they were up against. Heck, that's exactly what she was doing now! There was no clear number of the assailants they would face, no clear thoughts on the presence of a shinobi, only assumptions which she said not to use. Raphael shook his head as he smiled ruefully. " If I die on this mission, it'll be the most dishonorable thing I could do to the Saki family, and to my Nara brethren. " He muttered far below normal, to the point it simply appeared he was mouthing the words.

Enro's face was impassive throughout Kyoko's harsh interjection, his eyes never leaving her face or showing any signs of being insulted or affected by her words. Like any soldier he took in her words - and honestly evaluated their worth - nodded his understanding and looked at her for further advice or instruction. I would be difficult for her or Raphael to discern his thoughts from his expression as it was the same blank expression adopted by the soldiers of his former militia. They received and executed their orders with the same blank look, completely detached from their emotions and the inhibitions that would prevent the average man from performing the often brutal attacks that occupied every moment of the so-called 'resistance effort'. In reality, it was not so much a resistance as it was a counter-resistance but that was another story for a later time.
The oppressed, more rebellious portion of his mind ,however, instantly responded with sharp over-passionate word though they fell deaf on the more practical mind that asserted dominance in Enro's mind. That smaller part believed in Raphael's ability - although it had no actual knowledge of his skill - to replant the explosives in key locations. It also resented the woman's natural leadership qualities assuming dominance over the shinobi while she had no actual credentials put forth herself, a fact the practical mind noted in a less heartfelt manner. The practical mind focused on simply keeping the attention of the posted guard and it expected to perform that task without any problems. It only needed the subdued mental faculties after the mission to assemble a full report on the entire event. Enro was not the sort of person to interject without gathering enough information and though he didn't consciously recognize it, he harbored an imperceptible suspicion concerning the motives of the woman he called Kyoko

Raphael's eye opened slowly. He looked from side to side, takign in his surroundings. He was being carried, he was indoors, and there were lights on the clinically white ceiling. whimpers could be heard nearby, despite the perpetual ringing in his ears. He could only guess one place he was in, The Hospital. So he hadn't died, that was a relief, it would have put quite a damper on his shinobi record if he died so quickly. He mustered a small laugh, followed by a fit of coughing. He cringed in pain, both from the fractured bones poking around his body, the severe burns to his body, and the internal burns to his lungs. " Hey... If you... are going to... heal... me, " Raphael said, reaching out to grab the arm of one of the doctors pushing him on the gurney. " leave... the burns... I'd... like to... remember... my first... mission. " He said, cringing during his sentence.
Skeptically The Doctor looked at Raphael, shaking his head. " You've been through quite an ordeal, you're surely not in your right mind. Don't worry so much, and trust me. I'm The Doctor. " He said smiling at Raphael. ' Why would I have been deposited here? It seems that this world is behind on the times, definitely not past the 15th century. Kinda desert like, yet some of these people aren't dressed in desert garb. It also is fairly windy, but there isn't that much sand around here to blow around. Must be all on those outer walls. I really wish that this moment in time wasn't happening. I disdain violence, almost as much as I hate pears. I wonder what my assistant is up to, or if I'll ever see her again. ' The doctor thought, running a hand through his brown hair spiked up in the front. ' At least it doesn't appear that The Master is involved in this, however it isn't good to draw that conclusion. " He muttered to himself, inaudible to anyone but the doctor in front of him who looked back and gave him a skeptical look.
" No... leave... them... Bones an... and organs... save those... nah... not the... skin. " Raphael said, tightening his grip to his own displeasure. He looked The Doctor in the eye(s?) with his remaining one. " Pl... please. " He said mustering up a smile. His face was horribly burned, and if he saw it himself, he'd undoubtedly barf, which would probably end up only hurting him immensely, and he'd throw up from the pain of that, ending in nothing but a vicious circle. " Jus... Just tell m... me how... and wh...when to... ch... change... the band... bandages. " He muttered, turning his head to cough, blood coming up that time, evident on the white of the gurney. At that moment Raphael realized he wasn't being carried, he was being pushed on a gurney. He couldn't hear the wheels, and he couldn't feel the vibrations either.
" Alright, alright. " He said, sighing and removing Raphael's hand from his overcoat. He looked at it, and noticed a small amount of blood. " Darn, and here I'd come to fancy this coat. " He muttered, shaking his head. " Can you three heal this man up, I've just remembered something I must do. " The Doctor said, wondering off, and over to a blonde haired woman who was standing there. " Hello there, would you like to become my Assistant? " The man said leaning against the door frame, making his blue suit and red tie evident. "
Raphael looked to the other doctors who looked at each other and simply shook their heads. " That guy called himself The Doctor, the man couldn't even bandage correctly! " One said, another one chuckling before replying, " Oh please, that isn't nearly as bad as when I asked him to hand me a chakra steel scalpel to cut out a piece of metal, and he didn't even know what chakra steel was! " The other two laughed in an uproar. " Man, that guy has some serious problems with time, I told him to get one of the ANBU as fast as possible since one of the patients became violent, and he took ages! We had to subdue the patient with a blunt trauma to the head, since we're running low on pain killers. I doubt he even knows what an ANBU is! " He said laughing along with his friends. " Ca...can you? " Raphael asked, wanting the ones where were still there to understand he didn't want his flesh repaired. " Of course we can! We've done weirder for patients. " The front left one said laughing. " Yeah, we'll get you fixed up, and we'll give you written orders on how to re-bandage yourself. You'll have to buy your own though. " The one on Raphael's right said smiling down at him. " I dare say you'll be needing it with how bad you look! " The front right one said smiling and chuckling. The other two nervously chuckled until Raphael let out a snicker at the joke. " Thank you. " Raphael said laying his hand next to him.

Oniwa Kye| Satetsu | Speed/Combo | Otogakure | Kage ||| Shinobi Profession: Taijutsu Specialist || RPC Profile || Blending in seamlessly with the crowds, Kye made her way through the village as any other common citizen would, walking swiftly, but not at ninja like speeds as repair crews and shinobi operatives leapt by, over rooftops and throughout the village. It seemed that the fight which had taken place in the center of the village had been resolved and the assailant taken into custody. It spared Kye the trouble of having to reveal herself and take the man out on her own... but it denied her the pleasure of killing one responsible for so much death and destruction.
Pondering these thoughts in her mind, she made her way to the medical center, which was understandably still a madhouse. Moving through the crowds, she made her way to a triage doctor who seemed to be between patients and spoke to him before he could get called elsewhere... "Excuse me, sir, I was wondering if you could help me. There was a young man who was brought here by several citizens, he was in an explosion saving some hostages. He was a dear friend to me and I must see if he is well so I can bring a report to those who care for him. His name was Raphael and he was critically injured, he was badly burned on one side, the trauma one would expect with being within close range to an exploding tag."
The triage doctor was caught off guard by the sudden assault of words and immediately began recalling the patients he had seen come in. Part of Kye's strategy was to immediately overwhelm the man with detail and story to force him to respond without considering if she was someone he wanted to give the answer to. Luckily for her, in the rushed environment the man seemed to bend to her will and spat out an answer... "Ummm, yes, I believe so... we had a patient come in recently for emergency surgery, you could probably find him in a recovery room, if he made it that is. Good Luck to you."
His response didn't give her much, but noting the name on his badge, she at the very least could say she was given permission to find the young boy if she was questioned. Slipping past the crowds, Kye used the confusion of the overcrowded facility flowing with injured people to her advantage to pass unquestioned through the halls of the medical center until she found the area she was looking for. Making sure no one was watching her, Kye checked the patient charts hanging on the doors until she finally found the one she was looking for, and when no one was looking, slipped into the room.
There, lying in a recovery bed, wrapped in bandages which covered nealry the entirety of his face and body, Kye found Raphael hooked up to a slow IV drip, resting peacefully. Examining the young man for a few moments, she though it strange that the bandages were soaking through with various fluids and very little seemed to actually have been healed. Shinobi medical treatments are no small miracle in their effectiveness to restore the body to make it brand new again. In Raphael's case however, the burns had been left to heal as if no shinobi treatment were available... though they had to know his body would be irreparably scarred if nothing was done soon.
Wishing not to linger too long, Kye spoke to Timmy in order to rouse him and moved his arm, pushing on one of the bandages purposely, hoping the sudden pain would wake him "Well, you certainly made a mess of yourself..."Currently Wearing : Chakra Shroud + Casual Outfit

" Ah, Miss Kyoko. " Raphael said as he turned, a smile seeming to cross his face. It wasn't easily distinguishable due to the wrapping covering his body. " Yeah, I just panicked I guess. I wasn't trained for such a situation in the academy. " He said turning to look out the window. Well, it was more of a hole in the wall, but it gave a nice view of part of the village that was roughly untouched. Raphael seemed to have no preference of which side he rested on, but seemed pained by it. " I didn't follow your orders simply because I thought you were nothing more than a citizen. It doesn't matter if you are or not, but i should definitely learn to listen, even to those below me when they are offering advice. " He said turning back to her. he brought a hand up to his cheek and paused for a moment. " It isn't a nice feeling, your outer flesh being gone. Makes my insides all itchy. " He said laughing in a slightly off putting manner.
" You probably saw the initial explosion right? " Raphael asked. He was mostly just talking to himself now, but directing it to Kye in order to feel like he wasn't talking to himself. " I didn't know that the seal would be that powerful, when it exploded I wasn't entirely sure what was hurt. I certainly didn't expect my skin to be peeled off. " He said laughing, again in an awkward off putting manner. " At least I can't feel it now. I wonder if they are pumping me so full of pain meds, or if I've just been knocked for a loop. " He said laughing, this time a bit softer and more like he would have normally. " Do you know how Enro is doing? I assume that he's okay, but I'd like to thank him for cutting the hostages free. " Raphael said as he moved the blanket a bit, kicking it off to reveal his entire body covered in bandages, and a loose fitting yukata around his midriff. " I did have them just get rid of the whole lot. I messed up, and now I should have to pay for it. " Raphael said smiling to Kye. Raphael wondered if she knew that he meant that the tiny bits of skin still clinging to his body had been removed as per his request, and the wound cauterized like the rest of his body had been.
