My mother thinks Totchi and Shinya are girls (when in skirts/dresses). At other times, she thinks they're cute. eek She's never heard their music. Or at least, I don't think she has...she knows I'm obssessed with Japanese music though.
Dad doesn't really bother paying attention to what I listen to and stuff. Every once in a while, he pops his head into my room and says "Are you sure you know what he's talking about?"
And all I have to do is say "Yes Dad, I have all the translations on the computer. It's a completely safe song." And then he'll leave, and normally I try to stop myself from laughing afterwards because:
1. I really do have all the translations on the computer.
2. I have lower standards for things that are 'safe' than my parents do.

blaugh My friends all love Dir en grey!, well not all them but meh. Then theres my parents...well they think anything i do is werid. One time i was watching the Obscure music video on my computer and my mom walked by i just smiled and she stood there for like a miniute and then walked away. sweatdrop and then when i play the music they just say "oh your listening to that Japanese music again" then sigh. xp
Oh and then there was the time i showed my mom a pic of the group, she said wow those two are pretty girls and she pointed to Toshiya & Shinya sweatdrop

My parents always say they look like girls and that Kyo is crazy. My friends say the same. If my parents and friends read the lyrics in English they wouldn't approve.

My cousin (who is around 20-30, with kids) is scared of them.
I was watching the -Saku- PV and my cousin came in to use my computer and he was like:
Him: Why do people do that?!
Me: Do what?
Him: Dress like that, with all the dark make-up and weird styles!
Me: You should see X Japan...xD
A little off-topic: My Dad says X Japan look like Japanese Aztecs and my friend says they look like Indians, the Native American kind. D:

But when I'm angry I stick in my WtD CD and punch the volume up button and then take out the booklet and read all the dark lyrics in English. xD

When I asked my mom what to draw today...
She told me the beautiful woman on my wallpaper....
Needless to say it's Shinya. Oops.
I dont know why she doesn't think that every "girl" I show her is automatically is a guy

These past few weeks have been the weirdest yet.
My mother listened to Gackt (Last Song, I think it was) and LIKED it.
My brother walked past as I was listening to [KR]cube and said "Hm, not bad."
My mother's cousin (metalhead, has his own band, locks himself in his room to play guitar) listened to the Dir en grey songs on my iPod and LIKED it.
But wait! There's more!
My father said to me one day, just out of the blue for no reason, "Why don't you take Japanese classes? Then you can write your own songs in Japanese, go to Japan, and become a famous Japanese rock musician." or something to that effect.
I don't know whether to scream for joy or scream in horror.

My mom is cool and dance around with me when I play their music. My dad doesn't really care. I told him they are around 300 times worse then Marylin Mansion. He said that he doesn't care. I also said that he would NOT like their stage proformences at all and that they can be very sick and nasty sometimes, okay all the time but as hell I'd tell him that, he said it doesn't really matter. This was very surprizing coming from a catholic man.

My mom doesn/t mind me listening to them, but she hates "Bottom of the Death Valley" because of Kyo's vocals...and because of the fact that I like to sing along and sound like him. sweatdrop
A few months ago I showed My friend a picture of DIr en grey and she thought the looke cool so she looked up all their stuff. Now she's obssesed like me! Our other friend and her older sister get a bit annoyed when we talk about them like, "Are you talking about that Asian band again?!"

My parents have no clue who they are. I have my own computer, so I can sit there and listen to the music and watch the PV's without them noticing, so it's okay. I'm sure if they heard them they wouldn't like them, let alone see them in some of their videos.

I'm trying to get my dad interested in them.my whole family(exept my dad) just calls them stupid japs.My friend and her mom are in to them.Most of my friends don't listen to rock or they just listen to J-pop but I have converted some of them to J-rock whee . My cusin whose like 21 walked into my room while I was watching my DVD of them(it came with the WtD cd whee ) and their was a close up of Kyo and she said Scary. I beleve she thinks that I'm officialy emo.and in that close up it was just Kyo's tan face blue(nomal color) an eyeliner rofl
