Alec looked back at Ialo with eyes that were just as serious as he was, but caring and understanding. "No, I don't think that's silly. You feel as if you've spent years away from everyone. Even if you're not aware of it, you are acting a lot different now than you used to." Alec leaned back in his chair and laced his fingers together, resting them on his stomach as he asked a equally serious question of his own. "There's really only one thing that you should worry about. Is this 'new you' a turn for the better? If you want my opinion, from what little I've seen, it looks like it is."

Ialo just shook his head ruefully. "That would mean mentally, I'm almost thirty. I don't want to grow up this fast, Alec. And I don't think I'm any better. I think I'm just the same man who happened to get a good look at what he's capable of." The slightest of smiles that had been on his face was gone, and in his traditional fashion, he began to veer to the topic somewhere else.
"What makes a better man? To be boisterous and passionate? Composed and calculating?" He glanced back up at Alec. "Is it more important to be honest to yourself, or to others? Where should I put my allegiance, and who is left for me to trust?"

Cuwen Eylios Maggie just stuck her tongue out at Alena. "There's a lot of men like Ambrose, he's just one of the few who doesn't hide under a bravado! I mean, why do you think Lin, and you I guess, and I'm here? Don't you want to be better able to take care of people? I think that's why people become healers in the first place. Why are you taking me so seriously anyways? I hope it's not because I'm a fairy, that's just silly. Besides, Ambrose is totally a pushover!" Lin was becoming furious at the little fairy. She didn't even know Ambrose, so how dare she say such things about him?! He was the strongest, sweetest, nicest man she knew, not counting her father, of course.
Her rage seemed to die down a little, though, when Quentin spoke up ((thank you Quentin! wink )). At first, what he was saying was quite confusing and she didn't quite know how to respond. However, toward the end, her attention was diverted back to Lin and the pink in her cheeks began to fade back to its normal color. They had flared up again when Quentin first said that Ambrose was a pushover, but when he took it back and made it apparent he was joking, her anger faded again until she was focused on his question about her relation to Lin.
She looked at Quentin and smiled. "I am Lin, I am not related to her. I am her and she is me. I was cloned from her by the fairies in the garden lake beside the school. There are only minute differences that the fairies purposefully made, but I am still her and she is still me. To make it simpler on friends and loved ones, though, people may consider me her twin."{{Bringing this upfront for Eylios, Eternity, and Victoria. Lizz, can you please stop forgetting about Maggie? lol.}}

"What sort of minute changes did they make?" he suddenly blurted; Dymetri thought he'd only say it within his head. He looked up to meet her eyes. "Perhaps that's a question for a later time..." he muttered, breaking the eye contact.
((I kind of just made him do something. I'm really interested in the conversation that the elves and fairies are having.))

Alena looked over at Dymetri and she stared at him for a few moments. "I would think it would be quite obvious what things they have changed. I was certain you, Marcos, of all people would be able to notice what changes have been made."
She smiled softly, almost sadly, at him. She felt sad for him, but at the same time, she reminded herself that he had Lin. Why should he care that Alena did not love him or want to be with him?
She looked back at Quentin as she waited for a response or a question.

((Yep! I'm here !))
"You're her clone ?!" Quentin was dubious. Shocked maybe. It was hard to even imagine the concept of synthesizing life like this. No, no. He wasn't mad that Alena existed, it was just the idea behind all of it. So it was a fact she's Lin. Or were. That's confusing. He looked over at Marcos, understanding his earlier slip out. "Don't get me wrong, I'm sure no one is against you or something. It just sounds... Science-fictionny." Did he just say science-fictionny ? Okay, something was wrong with him. Now, he was mind-babbling. He thought back earlier when he spoke to Lin and now. He didn't sense a ressemblance, maybe that was the key to everything. "Then, where were you all this time ? Seems that earlier, you knew pretty much everything already about Lin's life. You follow the same goal right ? Healers ?" that last part question was more for Maggie then everything else. A girl who put cherry bombs in toilets ? Really ? Quentin felt that he had no connection whatsoever with her. Both of them were fairies... Really ?

Alec listened to Ialo ramble his deeper questions to no one in particular, holding his hands against his mouth in concentration. Alec could tell that Ialo wasn't really looking for answers with those last questions, they were far too off topic for them to be literal. Ialo was, if nothing else, a very literal man. For him to ponder stuff like that was either his way of trying to change the subject, or ask something he wasn't directly asking. In this case, Alec felt it might have been a little bit of both. The problem was that Ialo might not know what the question he really wanted to ask was, so he dug for deeper philosophical things in an attempt to bring the true question to the surface. But Alec felt he was getting to broad, to vague with his queries. So Alec decided to steer back in a direction that would be helpful to him. "So, you said you saw what you were capable of. Does that make you uncomfortable or something? Did you not like what you saw?"
((Laura's right Lizz, you need to make sure Maggie doesn't get neglected anymore.))

{{Lin and Alena are elves, hun. wink I didn't know if it was just your character that thought they were fairies or if you did, too. So just thought I'd make sure. wink }}
Alena looked back at Quentin and actually looked confused for once. It was quite rare for her. "Yes, we are both desire to become healers. What do you mean by where was I all this time, though? All what time? I was only created after our recent holiday break, about a month ago."

Cuwen {{... uh uh! No excuse. You've been posting as Ialo a lot, so you could have posted as Maggie}} ((Yes, excuses. Here. 1. I've been slammed with review work because finals are the week after next. 2. Yesterday, I was at school all day, and did not get home till eight at night. Like hell I'm going to post, unless I'm really really motivated, which brings me to 3. Ialo is my favorite character, and haven't gotten to post as him in months. Maggie is meh compared to him. So there. Excuses.))

((Now, now. As long as she posts with Maggie someday. We're not leaving much options here xD Oh and yeah, I knew about the elf thing Ark. 2-3 lines ToT))
"A month ago ? That's so strange..." Quentin pondered. So, even though he'd just arrived... There was a lot of stuff happening at Mystic Fountain. "How come you have Lin's memories then ? You're a copy of her, even to the past ?"

Maggie just flipped her hair and smiled, causing glitter to shake down and the ornaments in her hair to jingle. She had definitely mastered the theatrics of being a fairy.
"Don't be so surprised, Quentin! This is magic! All sorts of crazy stuff happens with magic!" She didn't realize his healer comment was aimed at anyone in particular, but she answered all the same.
"But me, no, I don't want to be a healer, I'm not patient or gracious like Lin and Alena. I want to go back home and join the Fairy Guard!" Yes, that was her ambition, at least for now. Five years ago, her mountain home had caught on fire, a sinister, evil fire that could not be put out by normal means. It razed everything, and all the fairies that lived had to leave. But slowly, they were coming back, and the mountains were coming back to life. And next time, Maggie would be there, fighting for her home. Until then, she would have a bit of fun.

Ialo stopped firing off questions, and gazed at Alec, his head tilted thoughtfully. "No... No I didn't. I hated seeing it. It was awful, and I can't believe I'm even capable of considering those things."
The fire, the blood, the gravestones - the glint of a sword, a swishing rope, and the stench of burning moss. shattering glass, and the relentless crashing of dark cold water against dark cold stone. All of those things came to mind, all at once. And through it all, himself, striding through the fog, fading out, never to see or be seen again.
He shuddered. "Power is seductive, but not in that manner." And yet, he still found it beautiful, that haunting dark ocean, the starless sky, and the cool mist.

Athena twitched back to life in her dorm, sitting up zombie-style. Oh my. She could smell him. Yes, yes, this was familiar. Her eyes opened slowly and she did not even bother getting dressed. Ialo was back! That was way more important than getting dressed or eating her morning pasta. Way, way, way more important. She had to go greet him! She was a faithful student, after all--a bonus for being canine (to a degree).
So, bounding out of bed and racing through the school at impossible speeds, Athena climbed into the vents and went to the one that opened right above his head in his office. Managing to be almost silent, she opened the vent and then... "IALO!" she screamed, falling out of the vent and right on top of her headmaster. "You're back!!!!"
This declaration was followed by an ecstatic and extremely tight hug from the hanyou clad in footy pajamas that had clouds and dragons and pasta printed all over them (plus a little backflap, because no footies are truly complete without it). She even added in a long lick up the side of his face for good measure, her tail wagging so fast and hard that anyone who tried to stop it was sure to get bruised.
