Oak just watched the fern girl. A tear welled up in his gray drab eyes. He didn't want her to go already. After all he just found her and met her. Oak wanted to know her more... Oak placed one of his stubby hands on one of the fern like tails extending from her back. Feeling the plant fibers between his stubby fingers. Oak began to slightly cry in tears for he wanted her to stay. "Ahh.." How the boy wished he could talk and just say Don't give up...

"Yashee!" The Illithid grabbed at the pen, pushing to his feet and almost forgetting Artemis as he peered up at the fox. A hand reached up, trying to grab at the boy. More sounds began to be uttered, but Xerk stopped enough to frown at himself. No, that wasn't conversation. 'Why does the woman leak?' Reffering to Rouge. He could speak this way, at least.
"Jorianth..." Repeated the woman, sweeping her now colorless eyes over the savior. "Maybe you can tell us what we're up against?" If he could help Danny, wouldn't he have just tried? Or... No, she couldn't be sure. How did they know this one was on their side in the first place?

Nic wanted to tear this guy's head off already, even if he had saved them. Pompous if he'd ever encountered anyone that was so. Rub it in, you p***k...
As if they'd really known anything like this would happen. No one had a clue. It happened slowly, but suddenly, if that makes sense.
Either way, he didn't trust him. Not as far as he could throw him anyway.

The boy tucked his wand away and ducked down to pick Xerk up with a little grunt. There. He was 'taken' and the little squiddlet was now being held. By him. Yashi liked him, thus he got hugs and cuddles and things of that like.
"Someone died," He replied carefully, slim fingers moving to pet at the dark hair that sprouted over his friends head. "I suppose someone she knew. Or she could just be a ******** moron."
Definately Patricks influence.
Iamel stared at the other spirit...thing.. Jor.. whatever, in an expression akin to awe. He didn't know Danny; so what? Someone died. Whoo. Diacyn would've agreed with him.
"How do we fight him then?" The Gaurdian asked of the creepy thing. He gave off the same freaky aura Shanuh did. "Guns don't work. He sucks out our life force. So how the hell do we fight something like him? What is he - a Super Saiyajin?"

Normally, Vana would not suffer the touch of a stranger on her precious tail. She was very protective of it, and for good reason; the leaves were quite fragile, and the little babe couldn't so much as risk clothing, for fear that it might rip her delicate foliage. But just now... either Vana didn't have the heart to object, or Oak was a special exception that she would permit such liberties.
For the sake of the Lesidhe, one would certainly hope it were the latter; that might imply she were accepting the comforting, though she gave no outward sign. But one could only pray for it.

'Died? What is... died?' How ironic that the child didn't really understand death now that he had left its cold embrace. His hands grabbed at Yashima's shoulders, allowing his hair to be stroked and petted without complaint. He rather liked attention, though not always in his hair. Since Yashi was as close to a friend as he had at the moment, it wasn't something he bothered dissuading. Felt good. "Fehkeeng moooron." He pronounced carefully, looking towards Rouge.

"Up against?" Jorianth gave a soft shake of his head, almost disbelieving that such a question should be asked. Granted, he had to give allowances that these living folk didn't know what was what here... but still! "What you'll be "up against"," he replied dryly, "is the Big-Ups. Talbar was just the errand-boy for a group of more powerful spirits, very dark spirits that wouldn't hesitate to take your life and swallow your essence whole. No doubt, he is off to fetch his masters, even now."
"And you. What are you doing in this realm? Have you no sense, or simply no way back?"
The creature's manner was condescending, his tone snide- but he knew what everyone was getting into, and he knew very well that they would have to afford his attitude if they wanted his help. Which, he was no doubt convinced, they needed.
"As for how to fight him... well, frankly, little things like you would be better off avoiding a fight. Or praying that some of the more powerful light creatures might be clued into your plight, of course, and coming to your rescue. Though all of you combined might stand against the powers of one of the Big-Ups, should they all come in force, you might find yourselves in a good deal of trouble indeed."

"Died means what makes you move and talk stops working and you--" He stops, thinking the last of his sentance, You become just a hunk of meat with some hair. When you're hurt really bad and you bleed too much, you die.
Yashima nodded at that, grinning widely at the boys speech. A light snicker left him, continuing to pet at Xerks hair. "Dying is bad. People like to stay alive, typically."
"That wasn't my question," Iamel shot back, pushing himself up with a groan. "My question was HOW do we do it. Magic? Fire? Do you all feed on energy? I know it isn't wise to go and start a fight but if we have to.."

"This realm fell on us, little guy," Nicolai answered, eyebrow quirking angrily. "We were just here and it happened. Get off it already."
He wasn't happy. Not in the slightest. And he did NOT need some cocky ******** telling them how badly they've screwed up by simply being there and minding their own damned business. He wasn't the type to start fights, but... for now? He was just a bit irked.
Despite this, his voice stayed level. "What do they want?"

[-doesn't think she will be able to stay caught up-]
Lilianna watched all the commotion that went around the lobby. Her fears made her unable to move away from everything, causing her body to collaspe on the ground. Slowly, her eyes closed and she was out cold.

Taylor, still trying to wrap her brain around the lightning-fire events, felt her eyes beginning to burn. Someone died... She didn't know who, she hadn't exactly seen how, but someone died-
And why? What the hell was going on? Why now, when there were so many people, so many children, all vulnerable... Diacyn took death lightly, if he cared at all, but Taylor wasn't going to stand for it. This was not fair.
Fear was slowly burned away by anger, like the ancient atmosphere of Mars. There were times for panicking and hiding behind books, and there were times for note-taking, and Taylor was fairly sure this was neither. She didn't know much about any stance other then those two, but she was willing to give it a try.
"Big-ups, eh?" she said loudly, wrapping her fingers around the handle of Ako's wand- her weapon. "Well, yeah. What do they want from us? And how do we get these 'light creatures' to get us out of this mess?" It was much braver-sounding then she felt, but she wasn't about to let on to that. "I'll stab 'em, if that'll help."

Coailiann lifted her head from mourning and stared at Jorianth. Well, he wasn't exactly offering any good solutions now was he?
Hmph.
"I vote that you go get said light creatures. You know more about here than we do," she said shakily, standing up slowly and reaching out for the nearest person's hand. She didn't care who it was at the moment.
"And if you'd like to help us, that'd be the best way."

((Forgive the mule messiness; still dressing it up. XD))
"Magic? Weapons? They'd have effect, but it takes power." Curling up one of his claws, Jorianth regarded it quietly. "Any fool can raise a sword. If one does not have the strength of spirit to wield it, has not struggled to learn its way, then one will only fall. This is not a realm decided by sheer physical strength. The stronger will that has the most at its disposal will be victorious."
Turning his light grey gaze to the next question, Jorianth looked pained as he struggled to explain Nic's question. "What they want," he said simply, "is energy. Those who gain enough can go Up, perhaps even fight their way out of this realm. Those who lose it will be sent Down, and will fall into a final death."
"The light creatures will come, if you are fortunate. It is very easy to find this place; in fact, were it not for Talbar's presences before and mine now, I guarantee that there would be dozens, hundreds of spirits flying in here this instant, to grab what energy of yours they could. Your energy had drawn quite the gathering, you see. You would be, simply put, overwhelmed in an instant."

Leave it to Kay to reason with the enemy, but there was nothing else to do. Should we really contest this guy? Nicolai had to keep reminding himself that he wasn't at home and had very little power. What would he do against someone like this? Anything?
"Suppose having magic kids did the trick in drawing them..." he muttered, doing his best not to move from his station at the guard of the children. "Better question, how do we get out of here when we didn't even know how we got here in the first place?"
