((Just so you know, Esiri, no one has actually been killed. At least, not by Nox >_> can't say about the other people. Paal's been hurt, but that's the extent of the damage directly caused by him.))

(lol, will do~)

Felicia looked out at the field, sliding to a stop next to Esiri. A man..? No, it couldn't be human, whatever that thing was...there was too many things that showed the creature wasn't a man at all. She forced herself to tear her gaze away from the figure to look at Esiri, nodding as she noticed she was about to explode with rage. "Yes, let's.." she respectively stepped to the side a bit, allowing Esiri room to go first and lead.

Esiri started to walk toward the young woman. She had ivory skin, her wavy dark brown hair curled slightly around her fair face, which upon closer inspection, reveled the young woman had vibrant blue eyes. Esiri also kept an eye on the creature that had materialized in the middle of the army.

"Tynan, what is he? He's similar to me but different..." Esiri asked her shade.

"He is familiar to meee as well M'lady, yet I dooo not recolect precisely whaaat he iiiis...ssshall I investigate?" Tynan asked.

Normally he'd have already scouted the enemy, but he could not do anything without the go ahead of his Master. Despite her anger, Esiri gave a small smirk.

"By all means. But do not strike unless you are attacked"

Tynan was instantly gone, on his way to the figure in the middle of the crowd.

As she came within speaking distance, Esiri called out," M'Lady! Are you the commander here, or if not, where can I find him?"
So as not to startle the woman with Felicia and Esiri's sudden appearance, she moved her scimitars into a non-threatening postion, just as she had done when she first met Felicia.

Marilla sighed, steering Sunray to flap a little bit higher; several feet above the front line soldier. Then Marilla whispered to Sunray, "What is that thing?!"

"I don't know, Marilla, I don't know," Sunray replied sadly. "I have never seen anything like it in my life..."

"I haven't either..." Marilla said softly, as she stared at the creature. She wondered if it was the same thing as the snake before, but the snake shape-shifted into it. Or perhaps the same species?

It stood there. The smile still curled upon its lips, revealing a hint of the terrifying bestial fangs that resided beneath them. It stood as a man, but it moved like an animal. Like a creature stalking its quarry. Its eyes didn't turn to a single one soldier. Rather, they seemed to take in everything all at once.

All the villagers that had been fleeing towards where the being had apparated suddenly decided they didn't want to run that way anymore.

It took a step forward, its large unshoed foot padding softly into the grass before it. When it made contact with the ground, there seemed to be a tiny wripple through the grass. It was the shadows at his feet, stirring under its touch. They swayed lazilly back and forth, like a charmed snake before they fell back into their places.

It was wearing what appeared to be cured animal hides, but upon closer inspection it looked to be leather. Charcoal black -lighter than its skin and hair, but dark all the same. As it moved, there was the faint jingle of metal striking metal. There were small silver slivers tied to the creature's clothing, and upon each sliver were meticulously crafted and almost impercetibly small symbols. They sounded like wind chimes as the creature continued to move forward without hesitation. There was no fear in its face or its eyes. In fact, the being looked quite happy.

Nox was thoroughly enjoying himself.

Only Aurora would be able to tell exactly what the creature was looking at, and the only reason she could notice from so far off was because of the sensation that coarsed through her. A charge of anxiety, or spark of shock. The entity that was casually stalking towards the ranks of her army was looking her dead in the eyes.

Marilla stared at the creature seemingly made out of shadows. She followed its gaze to the Princess and shuddered. Sunray nickered angrily, her nickers directed at the shadowy thing. Marilla understood this, and in horse language, it meant something similar to, "Get lost!" or "We don't want any trouble, so go away!" It was actually a rather rude thing to say. Marilla hoped the creature couldn't understand horses, and she hushed Sunray, hissing, "What're you doing; trying to get us killed?! Shush, please, Sunray..."

Sunray rolled her eyes and back-tracked in the air, flapping her wings effortlessly and sliding slowly back in the air, headed towards Aurora. It made sense to protect the Princess if need be. Or help, at least.

Aurora had been watching the dark figure. He certainly did not look like anything Aurora had seen, though she had read of dark men from the southern deserts but his presence was not that of a man. It volume seemed to decreased and only whispers traveled among those who were still standing in the clearing. She saw that some of the fleeing villagers quickly back tracked away from the being getting behind the army as quickly as possible.

It was then that she heard an unfamiliar feminine voice call out to her. Aurora was about to look in her direction, however she suddenly found her self unable to take her eyes off the dark man. It wasn't as if she was infatuated with him but almost like his gaze met hers head on. Aurora the gasped as a pang of shock coursed through her body and her stomach dropped. He is staring at me! Aurora thought to herself unable to find her voice. The hand she had resting on Findecano took hold of his pelt in a tight grip. The stag felt it and lowered his great rack of antlers threateningly.

Esiri saw that the woman almost turned to face her, but she kept her eyes on the dark man standing some 100 yards from her. They seemed to be staring at each other, neither making a move. Judging by the smirk on the dark one's face, Esiri judged him to be enjoying himself.

Esiri normally would have no problem letting the man do as he pleased. The affairs of mortals were their own, but she had a mission she was sent to do, and she was fairly sure that army that currently surrounded them was of one of the kingdoms that Spirit World was offering aid to. Esiri noticed that a little more of the men and what looked to be some villagers, with make-shift weaponry, were edging away from the dark one. Esiri was tempted to let the dark man take them, so great her hate of betrayal and desertion, but she knew that she was sent to Alteron to help the people there. Not to lose her temper and have more than necessary die.

She nodded to Felicia and walked closer towards the woman in command so that she could be seen out of the corner of the woman's eyes. That way she could still talk with Esiri but keep her sight on her foe.

Making a slight bow, Esiri said," My name is Esiruil Ladarien, Messenger and Shadowdancer of the Spirit World. I offer my aid and swords in this situation, shoud you accept." She used her full title, knowing that at least someone high up in the military might introduce, or send word of, her to high ranking officials, who then might allow her an audience with royalty.

In her mind, Esiri hoped Felicia would fight along side her, but whether Felicia chose to fight or not was her business.

Felicia was staring coldly at the strange shadow being as it slowly came closer and closer: it looked like a cat stalking towards a bird with clipped wings. She didn't know any of these people, but she did know that whatever that thing was would probably kill the woman it was staring at so intently. As Esiri began to introduce herself, Felicia moved to step in front of the woman and Esiri as the creature contuniually came closer. One of her slender hands was resting on the hilt of her sword as she silently stared at the being, her ears standing up to listen carefully to any sounds it might make. The instinct to protect was something she couldn't ignore, and she had already long decided that she would do whatever to took to keep those around her safe from harm.

((Don't think so biggrin Send an application to the thread moderator, and see what he says!))

((Aurora, is the stag a mythological animal, or something beyond a simple stag?))

It didn't slow, nor did it stop. Even as Felicia slid in front of Aurora, her arms resting upon her swords, prepared for battle, it didn't hesitate in the slightest. In fact, it didn't seem to notice her much at all. As she was staring into its eyes, she could not help but notice that it was not staring back into hers. It looked through her as though she were little more than glass, continuing its slow chalant trek towards the Princess.

It padded ever closer. Suddenly, the silence was broken. Even though Aurora had not given the command, soldiers began to filter in front of her, setting their shields before them, and readying their weapons. As dedicated as these soldiers were, only a handful of her army moved into such a formation. It seemed that true loyalty to one's kingdom did not come frequently. Especially in the face of death... or whatever was facing them. It was far from certain.

It continued to walk, seemingly ignorant of the resistance laid before it. Its eyes still seeking forward, towards the Princess.

100 feet.

((Yes, I am sure you can join!!))

Marilla steered Sunray right above the Princess. Sunray snorted out of aggravation of the shadowy thing. Marilla shivered as she watched the Princess. My, she is brave! Marilla thought. To have that monster staring at you...must be...horrible! Simply horrible!

Sunray seemed to agree with Marilla thoughts as Sunray shivered, too. Her wings flapped steadily, and her legs were tense and still. She hovered in place, keeping her eyes locked on the monster. Marilla, on the other hand, kept her eyes locked on Aurora.
