User ImageIt had been far too long since Khamsyn had returned to the Library to return the latest series of books he'd borrowed, let alone work on restoring another volume of lost knowledge. So long in fact that he felt almost as nervous as he had the first day he'd walked in to start his job. Still, he tried not to let it bother him. Placing the three books onto the returns counter, he made sure they were all checked back in before snatching them up again and returning them to their respective places on the shelves. He could have left it for someone else to put them away, but he didn't mind doing it himself. The Library was kind of like a second home for him after all. So the minor chores to be done felt like his duty as well.

Humming to himself he headed to his little workshop area in the back, behind the tapestry that hid it's door. He lit a lantern and then a few more, bathing the room in a soft but illuminating glow. With practiced patience and a steady hand he set up his work area. Made sure all of his supplies were filled, fresh and in top condition. He hadn't even chosen a new pet project yet, but that didn't stop him from preparing for the worst.

Turning his attention to the stack of yet to be restored works, he paused and pondered what he saw. Books, scrolls, carved tablets, strange disk shaped things and even stranger things than that as well. He often avoided the things he did not know the form or function of, yet he knew sooner or later he'd have to choose one of them. Today however, was not one of thse times. Carefully he reached for his standby. A book. This one in particular wasn't terrible thick, or even damaged as bad as some of the others, yet he felt a desire to choose it. Why? One may never know. Carefully placing it on his workbench and in the frame he drew the needed materials and reagents together, putting away those he would not need after all. With a deep cleansing breath, he began his work.

He began to restore "Non Campus Mentis" by Anders Henriksson.

As Khamsyn finished up his days work and put away all of his materials, he smiled at a job well done. Well, it wasn't done yet. More like a job well started. Standing, he stretched out his muscles and rubbed a crink from his neck. He really needed to look into either preventing these little muscle crinks, or at least how to treat them. He paused mid massage. He was in the Library, maybe he should once more take a look through that volume Euphrasia had written. The Medicine of Essense. Last time he checked it out, he thought he saw something on muscle therapy.

As he exited his workroom, he made his way to the shelves and pulled the desired tome from it's home. Tucking it under his arm, he nodded. "No sense in just checking one book out when I can take up to three at a time." he mused out loud, strolling around to find another two that struck his fancy.

Passing through the art section, he pulled out several tomes before putting them back and moving on. That was until he pulled the book on the History of Byzantium Art and Architecture. Flipping through he saw a lot of visually stimulating images, so he tucked it under his arm with his science book and wandered on.

He paused once more in the Philosophy section. Since his desired form of magic, Ritual, had a big part to do with the gods, Khamsyn figured knowing more from those in his pantheon seemed a wise idea. Variety is the spice of life as they say. He found a book called The Shifts of Karma that seemed interesting and he decided it was more than sufficient for the task at hand.

With his three resource books, he made his way to the counter at the front and cleared their withdrawl with Grave. At this point he no longer made any denial that he was a bookworm. It was almost like he was an Academic trapped in a Journeyman's body. Still, there were worse things than being a bookworm. Far, far worse. He made his way back to his room, books under his arm, for yet another night of studying... and he was excited.

Grave sat down in the back of the library for a brief break to do some personal study. He pulled the Intermediate Grimoire Magic tome down from the shelf and opened it up to the last page he'd left off on and continued reading, readying his notebook beside him in case he needed to make notes. Beside him sat the hefty Encyclopaedia of Mudras in which was already one of Grave's signature black velvet ribbon bookmarks.

Belwen stepped into the library, glancing around curiously as she did, she was mostly wondering if the Empyrean called Tomb was around. Granted she didn't know much about him, but if someone with traits like that of a stage one was in the library she had a feeling she would have a pretty likely candidate.

"Looks pretty quiet right now," she whispers over to Khamsyn. "Have any idea where we should start looking for information on this thing?"

User ImageKhamsyn set foot within the walls of his second home, the Library, and looked around. The rumors about Titan must have drawn the casual studiers and reference seekers out, since only the diehard bookworms seemed to be around now. He saw many a familiar face, but no one who looked like they could be Tomb. At least, not from here. The Library had a lot of shelves and was a large place, so Tomb could be here just not readily visible. Of course, Khamsyn didn't exactly know what the Stage One looked like anyways.

"It's always quiet in here. Its a Library." he joked, winking at Belwen. "But as for where to start, probably in the History section. Most specifically, Empyrean history. If Titan's previous master was distinguished at all, he or she will be listed. Which will also likely tell us what happened to them and to Titan. Other than that, there may be a record of golems and hybrids created in the Art or Animal Care sections as well, which might tell us more about Titan itself and it's abilities." He was fully into his hybrid Journeyman-Academic personality now. In other words, nerd mode. "Do you wanna split up or tackle one section at a time?"

She grinned slightly listening to the various suggestions - they were all very good suggestions she decided. The question was where would they actually want to start at. "I think perhaps starting with hybrids and golems that were built might be the best bet." Biting her lip slightly Belwen shifted her gaze across the library to where she was pretty sure the correct spot for looking up such would be. Having not spent a whole lot of time there though she decided to let Khamsyn lead the way.

"Lets stick together, that was we can go through one area more quickly and well...if we find anything we can just reference right then instead of having to search." Smiling some she nodded in toward the library, "lead on."

User Image"Hybrid and Golem records it is then. They should be..." Khamsyn looked around getting his bearings as quickly as he could. "...this way." He lead the way for Belwen through the tables where people sit and study and past several tall rows of book-leadened shelves, finally turning down one aisle and coming to a stop. "Well, if there is any record of Titan and it's abilities, it should be in one of these books somewhere." He offered up, motioning to dozens upon dozens of volumes. With a deep breath he pulled out a book and handed it to Belwen, then pulled one for himself. He sat down on the floor cross legged and started scanning through his book right there at the foot of the shelf. "We could be here awhile." He mumbled, looking up from the book at Belwen with a smile. "But at least I'm alone with a very attractive research partner." He winked up at her playfully, not mentioning any of his Library fantasies.

Belwen's gaze drifted over the library as she moved along behind Khamsyn, she really did hope there would be something in the texts about this thing. Stopping once they got to the area she bit her lip thoughtfully. It looked like quite the collection to be searching through. "Hrm, I suppose you start at that end and I'll start at this end?" She moved over to settle next to the bookshelf, settling in Belwen reaches for one of the nearby books.

At the research partner comment she nudged Khamsyn with her shoe before opening up her first book, "...I have a feeling most of these probably don't have indexes either."

A tall and thin Melancholic Empyrean came around the corner into the section Belwen and Khamsyn occupied. He did not so much as acknowledge them, so focussed was he on a particular shelf. He hah blood red eyes narrowed to nearly slits, with a slender and delicate featured face marked with black lines and red jewels. His ink black hair was unkempt, lank and longish, hanging to his shoulders. He strode with a silent, purposeful step to the bookshelf and ran a long claw-tipped finger against the spines, lips moving silently as he read their titles. He paused over one thoughtfully and hauled it from the shelf amidst a caked layer of dust. The volume was hefty, but the Journeyman balanced it with ease and flipped it open tot he table of contents over one crooked arm and began reading, standing in between the two ends where Khamsyn and Belwen had proposed to begin their search.

Khamsyn watched as the Melancholic approached, searched for a very specific volume in their section and began to read from it. Part of him found the man rather rude for not even saying excuse me as he stepped over them, let alone standing there and reading when they were trying to research Titan. But something about what the Empyr was reading caught Khamsyn's eye. His eyes narrowed, then widened as he hopped to his feet. "Excuse me sir. Can I inquire as to what you are reading? It looks like a volume my friend and I might be searching for."

The Empyrean didn't respond at first, as if he hadn't heard. Then, slowly, as if listening through water he rotated his lean face towards Khamsyn with squinting eyes. "What?" He replied sharply, then noticed Khamsyn's glance towards his volume. "This? It is 'A Registry of Familiars: Volume 6'. You'll have to wait your turn, though. I have some rather important business with it first." The Melancholic's eyes widened gradually as he spoke, revealing not an ascerbic intention but a wide, lucid expression of absolute unawareness of the rudeness of his words. In fact there was nothing aggressive in his languid stance or soft-spoken voice, just a cold exactness and utter removal of verbal frills. Then, without waiting for a response he found the chapter he was looking for and began flipping forward through the pages.

Belwen scooted back some when the Tomb arrived, curling her legs against herself she made sure she wouldn't be stepped on. When he pulled the book she had similar thoughts to Khamsyn's; and really she did hope that the new arrival had the same goal as they did because searching through the shelves of books for something that may or may not be there didn't really appeal to her.

She moved to her feet smoothly while Khamsyn and the other Empyrean spoke to one another. She smiled slightly to herself, she had a feeling he needed to attend a party worse then just about anyone else she had met yet. As he flipped the book open she stood slightly more on her toes to get a look at the book; however she didn't really feel like just pushing in on the other Empyrean so with a slight sigh she just blurted out her thought...

"Are you looking for information on that Titan thing everyone has been talking about?"

With a whip-snap of his head he turned to look at her, his eyes wide and brittle bright, as if he wasn't looking at her, more more through her. "Yes." He nodded gravely and then blinked. "What do you know of it?" He asked sharply, suddenly attentive, his gaze suddenly piercing and penetrating like daggers tipped in blood. He lowered the book on his arm slightly, as his focus shifted to this Phlegmatic Zero before him. He was on the trail of knowledge now, Wise Ea, like a bloodhound on a scent. When Tomb set onto a trail he was nigh unstoppable.

Khamsyn nodded, just as he had thought. This Melancholic was after the same knowledge they were, and he seemed quite obsessed about it from his reaction. Was this Tomb? Only one way to find out. "We heard about Titan and the Melancholic One who saw his return. We heard about you Tomb." If this wasn't Tomb, he'd sound like a bit of an idiot, but if it was, then they just made a huge leap forward in their research. "Nabu be praised for our paths crossing." He said a silent prayer to the Mesopotamian god of scribes and knowledge. "We've been trying to figure out just what Titan is and what his return means."

Belwen nodded in agreement with Khamsyn, she had a feeling though if he really was Tomb he might not want help with his research. But there was no harm in seeing if there was any news to share. Her eyes flickered down to the book he held making a quick note of it in case they ended up having to look themselves.

She started to say something more but then decided that Khamsyn had pretty much covered it. Her eyes flickered from one to the other, even though she didn't know Tomb she had a feeling that he was a bookworm like Khamsyn. Two really really dedicated bookworms a small smile came to her face at a rather naught library fantasy before she snapped her attention back to the conversation.
