Orlando de Pompadoure What about an anime one. Kinda like the TV show idea or the grimms fairy tales with a manga idea. You become a Part of the manga or anime and someone tries to change it while you try to save the main characters or something to that effect I would LOVE to do a gender-bender room! >D

Captain Dory I used to but I got really bored with anime. I watch one every once in awhile when it's a really good one (Shiki, Ergo Proxy, Cowboy Bebop) but I prefer to watch cartoons now a days.
Oh, I see. ^^
I don't think I've ever watched a anime episode, or at least not one I can remember. I might've when I was about 9 or 10, but not since. XDD

Just letting everyone know (and maybe this could get added to the front page?) that previous ball themes have been:
1) A collection of parties from dance, luau, rainbow, animal, etc. Very random.
2) (not sure the them)
3) Planets. Each room was a different planet.
4) Guild run - (not sure the theme)
5) Elements
6) Time Eras
7) Storybook/Fairytale
cool Greek Mythology
9) Deadly Sins
10) You know - you were just there!
So let's try to think of new ideas before we recycle any of these, even if we have new twists for them!

My question is what would the plot be if we did a zodiac? I get how the rooms could be arranged, but I'm struggling trying to come up with a plot. Could be because I don't know much about the zodiacs, so if people who know the signs and personalities of signs could brainstorm a bit on that aspect of the idea then it would be easier to sell.

Spotted and i were discussing that Ophiuchus (the new zodiac...) is upset about only being found now..... we didnt really get much further.... we could have it that the other zodiacs have a party in welcoming him to the group or something like that (this is all coming from the top of my head so its probably s**t... XD )

I posted this earlier: The 12 Guardians of the zodiac have become worried. There are many other minor guardians, but one in particular had begun to cause trouble. Ophiuchus, a minor guardian serving Sagittarius, has been insisting he take his place as a proper guardian, as one of 13 Signs that influence those on Gaia. This has caused...trouble, to say the least. He's been causing the Zodiac's influence to be skewed in immeasurable ways. Some Gaians are facing severe and sudden personality crisis's. Some who are under the determined Aries' care are becoming unconfident in their abilities. Some under the fair and just Libra are becoming highly biased and criminal. The 12 Guardians must sort this out before the whole system crashes and chaos ensues. They have decided to hold a ball to discuss their options and restore balance with Gaians.Other things could happen too; friends are fighting, people are dealing with constant bad luck, etc. Each room needs to restore balance between opposing signs (ex: Cancer and Capricorn). Ophiuchus would be going through the rooms trying to convince Gaians that he deserves a place in the Zodiac. A few hosts might think this best (even if the unverse will need to be reworked) while other hosts don't think it's right to mess with the personalities and balance already estabished. Because not only would the balance need reworking, but those affected by the Zodiac would be rewritten as well...they wouldn't be themselves anymore. That's what I think, anyways. Obviously would still need a lot of work to become a full plot, but would certainly serve as a great base for one imo.

Toy Theme
The idea here isn't that guests are playing with toys so much as that regardless of which room they enter, they are the size of those toys! The toys themselves [hosts] are not necessarily aware that they are just toys.... or maybe they are.

Except I said something about Ophiuchus being evil and wanting to take over the whole Zodiac thing.
I also reeeally love Silver's idea. It sounds really epic. <3

I was trying to go through all the themes in the thread, but 20 pages is a lot when you're at work sweatdrop It's very interesting! I like the involvement of Ophiuchus, not just because according to the new "rules" I would be under his sign xD... because I remember it was one of the main choices for last year, but we waited and now we have that extra sign and the RL introduction of it to draw inspiration from. Still gotta say that the zodiac is not my favorite BUT this is a great idea for the zodiac theme.

I was busy brainstorming in the other room, and decided something a little more concise and to the point should go here! Transcending The Danse MacabreA story about earning freedom from the Dance of Death (cycle of mortality), with an offer of Immortality as a "Prize" for winning certain high-profile contests (and providing custom banners with the winner's names on them for signatures - maybe a fancy plaque reading "(Avi Name) Earned Fame and Immortality at the 11th Annual Ball for (This Contest)!" with a picture of the avi they used when they won. The theme of immortality could easily span many genres and times, and maybe even have an already immortal mysterious host that could be at each event - with different avi's for each (Mysterious Host - Victorian Mystery, Mysterious Host - Egyptian Magic, Mysterious Host - Post Apocalypse Survival, etc.) with a unique item for the face that each one would share (like the shadowed face from Demonic Style)

Ophiuchus is not my favourite zodiac either. It would make me Gemini, but I like Cancer better. Plus, I can never spell it.
