(Neat post xD)

Felicia dully watched the wall, too tired at the moment to do anything with her anger except let it smolder. At Hal's excited proclimation Felicia's pale face lost any color it had and her grey eyes widened, her lips pressing into a thin line. She reached out to stop Hal but it was too late. The mental contact was unbearable for her as well; memories flowed through her to Hal, blood and broken bones, a smiling face turning bloody and malformed from a self-inflicted gunshot, screams and rain, even the distant yet comforting smell of roses and her mother's perfume. As soon as the connection broke Felicia turned to the side and had a long and wonderful dry heave. After what felt like an eternity of vomiting in vain Felicia remained bent over, taking in short raggidy breaths as beats of sweat formed. Her arms were clutched around her stomach even as she forced her stiff body to try and be upright once more. Instead she ended up thudding her head onto the table, grinding her teeth as she squeezed her eyes shut tight. It was like she was reliving every single thing she had ever felt her entire life all at once. It made her nausious. She hoped that Hal wouldn't be affected very badly by what she saw and felt. The last thing she wanted was for an innocent to suffer from diseased memories.

"Every game has rules, life is just a game with few rules and when your hit ponits reach zero, its game over for good. There is no cheat codes in this game, only enhancements. To create Chaos, you must first create order to break it. The good docotr created the order, now Chaos can be created by breaking it. Your playing style might get you killed early Sean, but if you draw the right cards and make high rolls, your ways of disorder can be a gift used to strike fear in the heart of the game masters. We differ in the ways of creating panic, but we both like one thing; Playing games with others. I take life serious, but not the way most people do. Sadness is only a cry for attention, its worthless and should be ignored. If you trully want attention, you must earn it yourself throguh your own means. We differ greatly in opinion, but I alreay see that though our opinions differ, we'll get along fine since they lead to the same goal; Chaos out of order."

Tylor almost forgot the reason they went to the dining hall, the good doctor called them there for some news of some sort. Whatever it was, Tylor was getting impatient waiting for it to arrive.

"So Sean, what is it you think the good doctor wants us for? I was busy before he bluntly announced to come here, hopfully its good news from the doctor."

"Haha, maybe we will. And death, ooo that would be a wrench into my gears now wouldn't it?" he chuckles slightly. "Our views are different, but in a way similar as well, or I suppose you wouldn't be talking to me now would you? Did the doctor create order? Did he really? Or did he just create the illusion of order? The idea of order. To answer your question, I'm sure the doctor is going to give us a little pep talk. My guess is a few people will either get hurt...or will die. Because he has to have us think there's order. Really, the only thing keeping many of us in check are guards and drugs...and guards on drugs." Sean sat back and closed his eyes. "You're right though, death could come to me early on. Then again, it could come up to anyone. But at least I can say this, even in death, I never failed. Because I have no plans. See, the doctor's a planner, a schemer. He probably intends to use us to benefit himself in some way, whether through profit, knowledge or sheer domination. That is why he's the game master, because he created the game we are playing. Now, allow us to play the game and he's going to have trouble keeping...his cards straight." Sean was trying to talk to Tylor using the game language, having a little trouble now and then on how to put things. He agreed with Tylor on a lot of things. "See, although we are a part of his game, not all of us are playing it. Some choose, as you like to put it, to become basket cases. Sitting in puddles of their own insanity. While others, like myself and you, are playing the game to win, right?" Sean wondered when the doctor would start cracking down his fist, if he lived through this Sean planned to go have a nice little chat with the doc.

(Dude, our character's have gotta meet. your's is awesome.)
Rai felt another pain in his head, but this one was diffrent. It felt as if someone was searching through his mind and pulling things out. After a few minutes, it went away, and Rai was fine again. Rai shook his head as Hal began to scream. In a voice mocking his mother he daid, "You know it's rude to read other people's mind. Espesially in a place like this." Rai finally began to worry when Felicia began to show sighns of extreme pain. Rai looked around the room until he saw his old guard buddy, Chat. Waving his hands and standing up frantically, he began to shout for help.
"Chat my old friend! Help, these two are hurt! Help!" Chat tried his hardest to ignore the annoying boy, but finally he gave in and came over. Rai looked from one girl to the other. Hal must have felt something awful in one of our brains. Why would Felicia be in pain though. I feel fine. Chat checked the two girls with an utter lack of concern, then walked back to the other guards, the two girls in pain already out of his mind. Rai shouted at the leaving guard, "Some friend you are," but Chat didn't even here him. With defeated face, Rai dropped in his seat and watched his two new friends pained faces.

"Ah yes, an illusion specialist. Those who concetrate their time on spell craft lack in the combat part of their character's attributes nad thus rely too much on spells to win battles. One sorcerer cannot stop the might of multiple players, even if his spell mastery is quite powerful. The illusion will fade when we find the right time and escape this dungeon, hopfully the good doctor will drop some 'phat' loot when he dies too."

Tylor changed the way he spoke from board and card games, to video games to see if Sean caught on. There was many games Tylor could use as his way to speak, he was even working on the most confusing way to speak; Pong speak. Using things only in the game Pong, he would describe things to others and see if they even coul grasp what he was saying at all.

"So Sean, how many '1Ups' do we need to spend before we can see an opening within the good doctor's shield?"

Tylor was just using games in general ,but the '1Up' reference was from Super Mario Bros. and the green mushroom used to gain a spare life. A '1Up' being how many tries would it be before the doctor could fall and the reward collected.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 6:43 am

Sean thought about it a while. The video game made it a little easier to understand from his childhood experiences. He also played a bit of dungeons and dragons, but it could confuse him as much as reward him at times. "Depends on how hard he cracks down in this next announcement. Too hard, and many will quit or for many it'll be game over. Now, our abillities combined are a pretty good combination, don't you think? You see into the future, and I see into the past...if you think about it, it gives us a clear advantage to the doctor. Now, if we can use the others as," he paused for a second to think, "pawns in a twisted game of chess then we can advance on the king. I think it could take us a good 2 or 3 tries, maybe more if we're unsuccessful. But remember, order is our prison and chaos our hammer. In the game, the boss only holds power if he keeps control over his minions," Sean spoke and flicking a glance over to the guards, "and if he cannot enforce his 'order' and 'rules', his illusion will fall. We cannot just kill the boss, for he can be replaced as quickly as a minion. Think of him as...a mini-boss. There's someone controlling him, he is merely a puppet dangling on loose strings. So we have to send a message to whoever's hiding in the shadows, none shall impose order." Sean had slipped in and out of game context, purposefully, to explain things to himself as much as Tylor. He only hoped the message got through.

Felicia quickly forced herself to sit straight up, as rigid as a pole. It hurt her so body and her head to do so, but she'd get over it. The pain was subsiding, but she didn't open her eyes even as the uncaring guard came and went. Felicia slowly opened her grey eyes and stared at a faraway wall as she controled her anger. Why would she do such a thing? Doing something like that could do damage, especially if she was reading from two different people at the same time. Felicia's gaze moved to Rai, seeing the defeated look on his face. She shifted uncomfortably as she tried to think of something to say. "I'll..go get her some water." And with that Felicia stood and left, quickly and silently striding towards the source of food. After a minute or so of stalling Felicia came back with two cups, setting one in front of Hal and one in front of Rai. She felt a little bad that Hal had gotten hurt, but at least that would be a lesson she could learn from.

"I always hated mini-bosses, more of an annoyance then a challenge and they never drop anything real good. We could always add to our parties total number of players. We could always use a few human shields or distractions along the way to defeating the good doctor. Might isn't always the right path, in some games the path can be split in differnt directions. One path is viewed as the Light Path and leads to a large majority of rewards fro all, while the Dark Path will lead to self rewards and stepping on others to get what we want. The question is; Who do we want to help us deal with the good doctor? Followers of the Light or Followers like you and me?"

Tylor began thinknig of the current plan to be like chess from what Sean said and began to think they were a few pieces too short. If they were the two main pieces, they needed pawns, bishops, knights, and rooks to take up the rest of the space in their board before planning anything against the good doctor.

"I bet there are quite a few players here that will have a high enough courage level or a low enoguh intelligence level to help us in our plans."

Introverted Insanity

PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:28 pm

"It is the will of the Vodarac to complete your training, young state of Arkansas...feel my passion!"

A voice echoed down a hall as Allistor made his way along various hallways, simply trying to find a place to assemble his laptop. His attention on no one person who passed him, yet it seemed like he was randomly shouting battle cries to everyone he passed in the halls. He even managed to get in the face of a couple of guards who attempted to rough him up a bit, but he didn't pay attention to the bruises on his forearms and a bit of a cut across his face as he coveted his laptop to the point where he seemed to feel no pain. Walking forward with his head lowered, despite his continuing to call out catch phrases of his own design, he crashed into a wall abruptly.

Stumbling backwards, he managed to lift a leg and kick the wall for running into him, but this only send him stumbling back further as he crashed into the opposite wall. "Son of an abruptly colored polka dotted gym short!" he called in a frustrated ramble as he clenched on eye shut in a Popeye the Sailor Man-esque fashion as he gave the wall an awkward glare. "Denizens of paradise who interupt my natural progression towards ultimate ascension shall not be forgiven!" he prepared to kick the wall, but his attempt was obstructed when he noticed the sign labeled 'lounge' and puffed out his cheeks gently. "You win this round, hell hound..." he uttered in a demonically deep tone while slumping forward and skulking into the thusly dubbed area.

"Greetings, peepies! I am arrived to retrieve all your bass!" he said in a snicker as he half-pranced to an empty table and sat his laptop down, brushing it over like it had been hidden away in an attic for years. Flipping it open, he took the back and emptied its contents, organizing each piece as it fell to the table top in a nearly OCD manner. "Fixins for the kitchens, me buckaroo...a tad bit ripe for its own good, I dub thee spanky!"

Felicia heard a thudding sound and blinked. It sounds like someone was thrown against a wall.. Felicia peered around a couple students towards the doors, making a what the ******** face as a strange kid with a laptop paraded in. He rambled on as he went over to a table and dumped out pieces of his laptop all over, aranging them and looking at them like a little kid trying to choose which precious candy to eat first. Felicia shook her head a bit, wondering if he was real or a hallucination. "Fixins for the kitchens, me buckaroo...a tad bit ripe for its own good, I dub thee spanky!"
Yeah, he's real alright..real loud. Felicia reached up to feel the triangular scar under her left eye as she watched the boy and his laptop, spacing out.

Charlie listened to the conversations going on around her as other 'students' gradually came into the cafeteria. She wished she knew about what the hell had been done to her so that she could join in on the alias conversation at her table. For now, I'm just going to have to be 'Worthless' or something. Or maybe something along the lines of that nickname that one of the Batman villains gave Robin: 'The Boy Hostage,' since I'm currently good for about as much as he is, if not less.

Another staticky message over the loudspeaker told everyone to report here or suffer the consequences or something like that. If Charlie had felt like moving, she would have got up and left just to be contrary. Instead, she ran her hand through her short hair like she did when she didn't really have anything else to do. Her fingers stopped on the back of her head and traced a smooth line that extended to the nape of her neck. She had heard the others talk about scarring, but she had never bothered to check herself for it. She continued to explore her scalp with her fingers and found several more scars webbing out from the first, including one or two on the back of her neck. A fresh wave of anger and the memory of pain and someone else's maniacal laughter washed over her. Where does he get off? she wondered again as she returned to listening and grazing at the food on her plate.

Sean thought about it for a minute. "Good question. My bet is on the people on the Dark Path, because they'll have similar goals...or just be crazy enough to do something to bide us some time if we needed it. Now, the people on the Light Path could be useful too...I mean, the doctor's got a good look into our...player profiles. He'll see what we really are and how we'll react, the extremely insane will be locked up, people like us wouldn't be trusted by the good doctor. Although...it's really just an idea, but without the pawns, the knights, the rooks, the bishops, and the queen," Sean grinned, wondering who the heck was the queen in this game, "the king is defenseless. And then all we need are a few pieces to claim checkmate. So, my idea is what you were saying. Get a group. Then, create chaos, a substantial distraction and we can overwhelm the guards, throwing the opponent's pieces to the grave. We've got the power, we just need to find the right place to channel and direct it, and when exactly. Details are always hard for me to come by, admittingly my mind's too chaotic to care if a plan succeeds or fails so we'll have to think this one through together." Sean had revealed something he didn't before to many, his love for chaos but his inefficiency at focusing. He could accomplish anything he wanted to, but if the plan failed he wouldn't give a d***. It was the way he thought, that to avoid disappointment he had to avoid hope, or pride in achievment. It didn't mean he wouldn't try, in fact it gave him an edge by allowing him to try again without bitter disappointment. Listening to Tylor, he decided that Tylor was in a way like-minded. If the game was almost lost, he figured Tylor wouldn't back down. Which was why Sean thought they were as good as any to win this game.

((Looks like you're really popular, Satoshi Yuy!))

Hal clenched her teeth and tried to ride the pain. Figures, she thought, wincing. The two things I hate most are stomachaches and headaches - because they're the only pains you can't do anything about.
Slowly, the pain dimmed down to a manageable level, though it still throbbed in the back of her mind. Hal forced herself to lift her head up and look at her two tablemates. To her surprise, Felicia seemed to have experienced the same level of pain that she had, while Rai seemed relatively unaffected and even concerned.
I suppose it's because Felicia hasn't gotten over the bad stuff that's happened to her, while Rai is relatively at peace with his actions, she thought, watching them. That, and I dug much deeper into Felicia's mind than Rai's, even though I didn't mean to. I wonder why?
"Guess I've got a ways to go in controlling my power, don't I?" Hal said to Rai, smiling weakly. Felicia was already distracted with another strange student. Hal spotted the glass of water and downed it quickly, remembering something about water helping with headaches. Sure enough, the pain dimmed even more. Hal gave the two a more genuine smile. "Thanks! That helped a lot."
