User ImageDoes anybody else have the problem of people's avatars not showing up or showing up briefly then disappearing before the page 'fully' loads?

The problem started around the time they introduced the footed (which doesn't work for me, and when it did, it took my ability to side scroll down away!!!), and the school-related posting ranks.

Anyways, I received my first avatar art by chatting in someone's thread at an obscure hour.

I was at the hospital the day before yesterday. And at the end I was crying and staving off an anxiety attack because they couldn't schedule me before I lose my insurance crying

I'm sorry about the insurance thing, I know what you mean, I really should go get insurance. I like your avi art! Yay for the late night posts!

I just realized that my birthday is exactly one week from today. I will be 20! Woot! So this is my last week as an official teenager.

Wow, school is crazy intense for me this year. (And it was so easy last year...sigh.)

meatballhead: Bleh, that sounds awful. I hope you feel better soon, and your insurance doesn't die 8l
Why did you get all that surgery done?
And no, suicide is never a good way out. Consider all the people who are worse of than you are (and there certainly are many) and that all of them try as hard as they possibly can to suceed against whatever odds are against them.

Kineka: Ooh, I know what you feel. Except I'm just having low self-esteem because I got totally rejected XD It'll pass sooner or later.

Rainbow: Hahahah agreed! (thying?) I'm so pissed at a kid right now. Which isn't completely fair, but I've got PMS on my side (lolll!)

Minerva: I like Physics :l
What do you want to teach?/What age group?

nariko: Goodness, I feel your pain. And then finally it's the weekend, and there are events to go to, and things to do, and maybe (no way!) even an hour or two for a life. Then cramcram and try to catch up on all that uncollected homework you've fallen behind on before it hits midnight between Sunday and Monday, and you roll through the week like a zombie, and the cycle continues...

Wow that's a lot of responses Turayza! o.o
And as a quick note, I think Physics is one of the better, entertaining sciences...at least compared to Chemistry, haha. Of course magic would make everything easier, although I guess it's arguable whether or not magic would improve the standard of life altogether. Anyhow, best of luck to everyone! Time to get back to homework. stare

Physics and chemistry to sound sound scary and well boring. I'm just not a science brain I guess, even though I love the human body!

When I was driving home from school with my cousin in my car, I was listening to the radio so intently and looked over at my cousin for a minute because she was asleep and then CRASH! I hit the car in front of me!

I was scared and shocked, I did the necessary things, like calling insurance, my mom and whatnot. Now me and my mom don't have a car for like 6 weeks while its in the shop. I feel like an idiot and well I'm in major pain, my whole neck and back hurts from the impact.

para- Oh, Geez, I'm glad you're okay! It sounds as if being embarassed is the hardest part of that for you. There's a really gorey video floating around youtube that was produced by the government in europe to show how dangerous texting while driving can be. Pain really sucks, you're preaching to the choir on that one.

turayza- My intial surgery was in 1999 because I had a 'growth spurt' in which my minor case of scoliosis (unnatural curvature of the spine) became major. I had two curves in fact, the largest one being 90 degress, the other was fifty or sixty something. The doctors said I would be in a wheelchair, permanently, for the rest of my life if they didn't do the surgery (slicing me open front AND back to fuse surgical steel harrington rods and my own rib-matter to make the bone solid). I kind of lived with the minor pain for years, but the bottom-most hook that was supposed to be attatched firmly to my L4 vertebrae had came out right after the initial surgery and was floating around in soft tissue... I knew it was my last year of insurance so I got it done, but my stamina is just way way down. Another major difference is i'm not longer in structured school and I have all my head issues depression/anxiety-panic/borderline? to deal with on top of the pain...

BUT I HAVE GOOD NEWS! AFTER ALMOST AN F-ing YEAR, THE STATE HAS DECLARED ME DISABLED, therefore, I qualify for Medi-Cal when I lose my insurance in less than a month. I thought SSI came with it because it was judged more like that standard, as opposed to the state disability which just about any doctor with a good enough reason can sign off for... so I still have to pursue that, but at least I'll get to keep seeing doctors, getting my medication, and pursing treatment, and eating thanks to the food stamps.

So everyone, homework may suck, but being cast into the 'adult world' with everything being taken away from you and having to do triple backflips every few weeks to get help from anyone is NOT fun. Stay in school a slong as you can. stare

meatball: Oh wow...I'm glad that you finally got declared as disabled so you can have some type of insurance...it can't be good to lose your insurance ever. And I plan to stay in school for a while...I actually love school.

Para: I'm glad that you're okay. Just be glad that it wasn't worse, I guess. It just sucks that your car is in the garage for a while.

School is crazy this week. I haven't gotten more than ten hours of sleep since...I don't know when. Plus, all my friends are sick, so of course, guess what? Now I'm sick! But of course, not sick enough to stay home from school, instead I have to go to school feeling like crap, then going to tennis after school everyday for a good two hours at least. Except my coach cancelled practice today, because she said if we won last night (which we did), we wouldn't have practice today, so that made me happy, because then I can get my homework done and go to bed at reasonable times. And our tennis team is 5-0 in conference!

Hey Akito! Wow, I haven't seen you here in just about foreverrr. (: In school I like Physics better, but I want to make drugs (Chemistry PhD) after college.

para: Holy cow. That is sooo scary o__O; But definitely you're lucky to be alive. I hope you get better soon, too.

meatball: Goodness...that's more than 'major' scoliosis (sp?) that's like crazyridiculous. How does a spine even do that? I hope you get better soon. Good thing you've got Medi-Cal when the insurance dies.

nariko: Hahahah, what're you talking about? Ten hours of sleep? More like, uh, six. XD But congrats on tennis! (: Sounds like painful fun. (Hahah.)

Hey everyone! Long time no see.

Been busy with school, illness and my diabetes. Apparently I'm supposed to have some learning-thing in groups, that the hospitals are obligated to help you with, which I haven't heard anything about from the diabetes nurse. Not that I've learned or heard anything new from her anyway. D:

I've been sick twice in less than three weeks. o.O Both times I was sick for four days. I just can't WAIT for the flu. *Sarcasm*

Meatball: I have to agree with Turayza.. How does a spine do that? A friend of mine have scolios. At least I think it is scolios... Her spine curves really weirdly. But it's not even a tenth as bad.

And congratulations on being declared disabled! ...Errmm.. for some reason that sounded odd.

You got health insurance! Yay! biggrin

It's in cases like that I'm happy that I find myself in a country where there are no need of health insurance. o.o It'd be scary to wake up one day, and suddenly end up in a situation with no health insurance.

Kinda sick case that was on the news the other day here.

Apparently the police had found five TB of child pornography on a Norwegian ex-policemans computer.. Apparently the case actually caused some international investigations and arrests in both the US, the UK, Italy and Romania.

A messed up world we're living in, uhu?

I hope you feel better Kitsune! My mom has diabetes and I'm insulin resistance so I know what you are going through, I try not to get sick all the time, my mom tries too, sometimes it fails but oh well.

Not needing health insurance is good and all, I just wouldn't want to pay the taxes for the universal health care that doesn't even work! But, I am not going into politics.

I agree with you that we live in a messed up world. I try to stay away from the news because its all horrible things.

I'm feeling much better from my accident, just tensed mostly from missing a week from school, now I have so much to make up.

On good things though, I turned 20 yesterday! It was fun, but not as fun as it is when you are a little kid.

Hello! I'm a first year. My name is Moira and I was (debatably) the smartest person in my muggle class.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 30, 2009 2:31 am

I am better now Para. And I'm going on a holiday soon! biggrin Me and a friend is going to Oslo (Norway's capital) the 10th October and we're not coming home till the 19th. My Danish friend and her loverboy is also coming. We're camping in my cousins livingroom! Weee! biggrin

Taking insulin sucks. Terribly much. Especially when I stab a nerve. That makes me curse and swear and all that goodie stuff.

Well, Universal Health Care works perfectly fine. Only thing is that we lack psychiatrists. But other than that, it's great! Course, the difference is that Norway has a population that hasn't reached the 5 mil number yet, while America has several millions.

Make-up work! Best thing invented, uhu? *Sarcasm* I once lost almost half a year of schooling due to a HORRID cough. When I actually went to school, I had to sit in the hallway. The air also made my cough worse.

20! Now you can... Do everything you could do last year but doing it while being one year older!

20 isn't that great a age, uhu? Guess 18 and 21 is the best ages to turn.

You should've thrown a kiddie party! biggrin . Then it'd be just like the good old days! And you could wear a birthday hat.

Welcome to Ravenclaw EroGeek!

I was (without debate) the most absent minded person in my muggle class!

Exactly, I get to do everything I previously did, the only difference being that I'm not considered a teen anymore and am just an adult. eek

Welcome EcoGeek! Hope you have fun in Ravenclaw!

You're trip sounds like fun, it seems like you Europeans take alot of trips, haha, I don't take any during the school year, only sometimes maybe in summer. I'm so excited that in 2011, I get to go to Rome! I've always wanted to go to Europe, and now I'm finally now going to be able to.

I know, I hate making up work, this weekend is going to be full with making up all my classes and studying for 3 tests next week.

I have one more class today and I am done for the week! That is why I love internet classes but hate them at the same time.

Welcome to Ravenclaw, EcoGeek!

Well, tomorrow is the Homecoming Dance at my high school, and our theme is Enchanted Forest. The Homecoming game is tonight, and I really hope it doesn't rain because then my mom won't let me go crying . And tomorrow is our big conference tournament for tennis, and my partner and I are in second place right now for the season for 4th doubles. The team overall is undeafeated-currently in first place with a record of 7-0.

Para: Good luck making up all your homework, I hate having to make-up homework, too, so you're not alone.

Kitsune: Have fun in Oslo! I wish I could travel, but my family doesn't really take vacations anymore for some reason...no idea why.

Welcome to Ravenclaw, EcoGeek--hope to see you around! (:

Ooh, Enchanted Forest sounds like so much fun 8D Our theme this year is Winter Olympics (before you ask wtf, it's because we live in Washington and we're a 3hour drive away from Vancouver and some stupid people thought it'd be cool to make our HC theme that...idiots...) which is an awful pain to make formal decorations for. /sigh.

Yeah, I've always wanted to go to Europe too (: I think I'm going to do a trip between HS graduation and college, otherwise I won't have a chance for yearsss.

Yay Para, happy (belated) birthday! In many asian cultures, 20 is the age of majority (rather than 1 cool where a person really becomes and adult. (That tends to not be reflected in laws, though.)
